I know this isn't what I wanted,
Never thought it'd come this far,
Just thinking back to where we started,
And how we lost all that we are

Chapter 11: Before The Storm
Soon after, James gave his letter to a perplexed Felix, who just flew straight to Harry, who was sat in the room at the time. Harry did allow James to view the memories with Lizzy. Once they had the new year (that they spent at Potter Manor with the whole family), it was time to go back to Hogwarts. A few days after they got back to Hogwarts, Dom found that Victoire and Teddy worked out who she had feelings for.
"Dom, please let me talk to you. I am so sorry."
"Vic, you told him how you could do that? This way I hadn't told you, I knew I couldn't trust you!" Dom yelled, running down the stairs away from Victoire, standing stubbornly outside of the fat lady's portrait that leads to the Gryffindor common room.
"Dom, wait, it wasn't like that. Please let me explain."
"Explain what? That you didn't only guess at something that I specifically said I didn't want you to know, but you told Teddy, do you know how embarrassing that is?" Dom screamed, turning around storming back up to Victoria was stood.
"We worked it out together; Dom, I already explained this please, can we just talk somewhere privately about this? Everyone is staring."
"I don't care; I know what you did and will never forgive you."
"Come on, Dom, don't do this. You know he won't tell anyone."
"Hey Vic, Teddy told me what's going on," Ben Korden, Teddy's best friend, was interrupted by Dominique screaming again, running into the common room behind her. "What's up with her?"
"Boy problems Ben, listen, I have to go, but please tell Teddy I need to see him after dinner tonight."
"That's what I came to tell you; Teddy won't be there at dinner today. He has to tutor Sophia Kay in Transfiguration." He grimaced, waiting for the explosion.
"Sophia Kay? His ex-girlfriend, Sophia Kay?" Her being head with him was hard enough for Victoire.
"Yeah, look, I told him it was a bad idea, but he wouldn't listen, says it will give him extra credit or something."
"Well, in that case, can you tell him I need to speak to him as soon as possible?"
"Yeah, sure, no worries, Vic."
"Oh, and I need to ask you about the party. The one we're having in the room of requirement at Easter. Ravenclaw 5th years are organising food, right?"

"So you need to keep your wand straight and fully concentrate on what you want to transfigure. Otherwise, the spell will not work properly, and you might end up with a half transfigured item." Teddy Lupin was stood at the front of an unused classroom on the 3rd floor, teaching his ex-girlfriend transfiguration.
"I am concentrating, but I just can't do it, Teddy." She replied, looking frustrated.
"Imagine the finished product in your head, the way you want it to turn out. That may help."
"Okay, so you want me to turn this cup into a moustache? How do you even imagine that?"
"Easily, look, I'll do it, and then you do it, okay?" Sophia nodded, motioning him to go ahead.
"Affingo Ungebam" The cup successfully turned into a moustache. "Okay, to put it back to normal, you need to say 'Reciproco,' which literally means reverse or to move backward, which is what you are doing really. Have another go."
"Affingo Ungebam!" The cup quivered and grew slightly hairy but didn't fully transform.
"See, you did get somewhere there." Sophia practiced the spell for another hour before giving up completely.
"That's it, Teddy, I can't do this anymore. I have hardly made a difference!" She fumed, sitting on the table and putting her hands in her head.
"It takes time. Not everyone is a natural at it, like me." He replied playfully, sitting next to her.
"It's so frustrating though, I mean, you are so good at it. Can you rub some of your talent off on me?" She asked, chuckling.
"No, can do, I'm afraid." He replied with mock seriousness.
"Can we do this some other time, please? I really need to learn this, and I had fun today."
"Yeah, me too, Soph."
"It can be like this again, Teddy just give me another try." She said suddenly.
"Sophia, I have a girlfriend now. You know that I am going to stay faithful to Victoire. I love her, and I am not going to ruin it."
"I thought you loved me? You said you did."
"I did when we dated. I loved you so much, but you ruined it, Sophia, and it wasn't even once. It was multiple times, and I found out through rumors. You couldn't even tell me yourself. You spread loads of stuff about my family. How can you expect me to trust you for that? Mess with me fine, but don't mess with my family."
"You left me hanging for her Teddy. Yeah, I cheated but what you did was worse. I was drunk. You weren't. I saw you laughing and holding hands, and when you saw me, you just said it's over like our relationship meant nothing to you."
"I know I did it wrong, and I wish I could take it back and not hurt you like that, but I honestly didn't mean to hurt you."
"You still cheated on me because you were with her while you still with me."
"It's different, I…"
"No, it isn't different; there isn't one rule for me and another for you; that isn't the way relationships work. Oh, and you don't tell someone you love them and then break up with them the next day." They were both standing up now and a few feet in between them.
"I did love you, but Vic found me when I was breaking down on the anniversary of my parent's death anniversary. She made me feel okay. Where were you, Sophia? She was there for me when you weren't."
"Do you want to know where I was, Teddy? I was visiting your grandma, Uncle Harry, and your other Uncles and Aunties to collect your parents' photos and memories. All so I could make this for you," She pulled a wooden box the size of a large shoebox out of her bag. It had engravings of swirling patterns around the sides of it and on the lid. "I am sorry I wasn't with you that night, but I had been working on this for weeks. I finished it just after tea, which I skipped, and after it was done, I couldn't find you anywhere. None of your cousins would help me. But sit down, and I'll show it to you." Obediently Teddy sat at a desk at the front of the classroom, and Sophia sat next to him, placing the box between them on the table. She lifted up the clips on the front of the box and lifted up the lid. Inside it was split into five different compartments; on the left, a strip went down the box's width. In it were multiple glass vials, which Teddy recognised as memories. The rest of the box was in the shape of a square, and it had four equal compartments. There were different photographs in each container. The top left one was for Tonks photos, the top right was Remus' photos, the bottom left was them together, and the bottom right was photos of Teddy with his parents before they died.
"Sophia, I don't know what to say; thank you so much for this."
"You don't have to thank me, Teddy. I did it because I loved you, and I still do; I know it won't change anything, but understand it from my perspective. I spent ages sorting this out, and the day that I finally finish it, you cheat on me than break up with me. I'll see you around, Teddy." She stood and walked out of the door, looking back to see Teddy looking through the photos with tears rolling silently down his cheeks.

" I was such an idiot, Ben, to break up with her and not even give her an explanation. To be honest, I didn't think it mattered at the time Vic reasoned it by saying she cheated on me, but that doesn't make it right."
"No, it doesn't, but if you still have feelings for Sophia, that isn't fair on Victoria either, so you need to figure that out, mate."
"I know, I know," Teddy replied, putting his head in his hands. "I didn't feel that guilty because we assumed that Sophia was with someone else, you know what I mean?"
"Yeah, I get the picture. I'm guessing by we you mean you and Victoire?"
"Well yeah, what are you trying to get at?"
"Victoria has liked you for ages, right?"
"Yes, and I can't believe I didn't see it."
"She would want you to think that Sophia was being unfaithful or something because then you'd feel less guilty for being with her."
"I understand where you are coming from, Ben, but I don't think Vic thinks like that. She is so kind."
"I know, but it would surprise you at the things people do to try and get what they want. I am just warning you."
"What are you trying to suggest? Whatever happened, it happened for a reason, and I would like to change it, so I didn't hurt Sophia as much, but at the end of the day, I am happy now."
"And that's all that matters, Ted, but I would just say try and be happy without hurting other people."
"I don't intentionally do it, you know that."
"" I do, but not everyone does."
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
"TEDDY LUPIN! How could you do this after everything we went through because of her!"
"Vic, you don't understand; Soph explained everything to me. She wasn't with another guy. She was at my grandma's getting memories and photos together to give me for a gift, and she didn't give it to me because I broke up with her."
"So are you going to run back to her because then she has obviously succeeded in trying to break us up?"
"It was nice of her to do that, but you know as well I as I do that she will never actually break us up." He said, pulling her towards him.
"How do you know that? She has succeeded in making us fight Teddy. This may just be the beginning." She said, putting her head on his chest.
"I won't let her, and she'll just have to get another tutor because I will not tutor her anymore if it results in hurting you."
"You didn't seem to care about hurting my feelings when you dumped me for her," Sophia said, coming around the corner.
"Excuse me, we are having a private conversation here."
"Well, it can't be that private; we are in the middle of a crowded corridor." She moved her arms in a wide arc in the over-crowed corridor to exaggerate her point.
"I don't care where we are. Your presence is no longer welcome." She snapped back.
"It's nice to know you think so highly of me, Teddy, considering that she's the reason we broke up."
"And I know he's glad you have too."
"Can't speak for yourself now she's your girlfriend?"
"Of course, I can!" He replied defensively.
"Go on then." Sophia dared.
"Look, I know you love me still, but I love Vic, and I get that your jealous and everything, but it's getting a bit too much."
"You're a prick, Teddy Lupin. She's welcome to you and sweetie, don't come crying to me when he leaves you for someone else because he will. He doesn't know the meaning of love."
"Yes, he does, he loves me, and I love him."
"I'm guessing he's your first crush? First crushes are not everything. You'll learn that he'll hurt you just as much as he hurt me; just you wait.

The next day Lizzy was walking alone to the Library.
"Lizzy, how are you today?" Lysander said, running up to her.
"I am good thanks, how are you?" She responded with surprise.
"I am perfect thanks, listen, I am going to the lake after tea for a bit of work. Do you fancy coming with me? I could really do with your help with our Transfiguration homework."
"Sure, but aren't you a wiz at transfiguration? You beat me in tests all the time."
"Yeah, I know; I'm so much better than you at it, aren't I?" He smirked. "I just can't get my head around this essay she has set us."
"Which one?" Professor Guerriera saw it fit to set them two essays, both due for Monday, and it was Friday now.
"The first one about the rules of transfiguration in principle."
"Okay, I know just what books to get. Shall I meet you outside the great hall around 7?"
"Yeah, sounds good."
Lizzy walked to the Library with a smile on her face, having a purpose for going to the Library. She wouldn't allow herself to like him, yes he was cute and sweet to her, but she didn't like him at all, okay? At least not like that. Okay, maybe she did a bit but not that she would admit to anyone. She was so lost in her own world, she walked straight into James and his latest girlfriend.
"Hey Liz, watch where you are going. I nearly lost my life!" He said, rubbing his arm as if she broke it, and she rolled her eyes as his girlfriend laughed loudly for way too long.
"Sorry, Jamie, I'm in my own world."
"It's fine, erm can I speak to you for a sec, please?" He asked awkwardly.
"Yeah, sure."
"Laura, can I meet you later? I need to speak to my sister?" Laura Close was a first-year Hufflepuff.
"Yes, of course, see you later."
"Well, she seems nicer than Indigo."
"She is, but Indigo was nice to me, and I should have never broke up with her over.
Letters, it's just that I knew that she would try and convince me to stay with her, and I didn't want to."
"And that's fair enough, just work on your breaking up skills if you do break up with Laura. Anyway, what do you want to talk to me about?"
"Well, I was talking to Freddie, and we can't help seeing that you and Lysander seem to be quite close."
"He is my friend Jamie, so guess we kind of are."
"Do you like him?"
"I've just said as a friend, yes."
"You know what I mean as more than a friend?"
"No, of course I don't!" She exclaimed, looking down, feeling her cheeks start to blush.
"You're lying. I can see it in your eyes, and your blushing!"
"It's no big deal even if I did because he doesn't like me anyway."
"That's the thing, I think he might." She couldn't help the butterflies in her stomach taking flight.
"And what's it to you if he does?"
"You're my sister, Liz, and he's one of my best friends. I don't want either of you two getting hurt or leading the other one on."
"You're the one to talk. You are always lead girls on!"
"I do not,"
"Yes, you do. Jamie and Lysander has been kind and took notice of me when you have been too busy to take me on."
"I do take you on, but I have your friends, and I have mine, so we won't always be together."
"Name one of my friends that aren't yours, Jamie?"
"Sadie."
"She's in your friend's group, and she felt sorry for me."
"She's your friend now, though."
"She was still yours first. We have the same friends, so don't use that excuse because I am not stupid. Look, I have to go and get some books from the Library."
"What for your date with Lysander?" He sneered, to which Lizzy was taken aback, for he never used to sneer at her.
"No, I am helping him with an essay, you've changed Jamie, and I can't say it's for the better." Then she turned from him and walked off into the Library.

When Ginny first agreed to be the headmistress for the YMCIL, she knew there would be a lot of paperwork, but she never imagined there would be this much. She needed to get admin staff. She groaned into her hands as she picked up yet another complaint from parents about their children being in the same class or even the same school as Liam Riddle. The main problem was that he never actually did anything wrong. He was intelligent, polite, always did his work, and was quite charming even for a nine-year-old. This was worrying because Tom Riddle used to be quite charming. As she picked up the next complaint, she read it with frustration and replied to her prejudiced brother.
"Dear Mr Weasley,
I understand your concerns, but Mr Riddle has done nothing that could make me want to exclude him. His last name is not enough as it can't even be proven who his actual parents are, as you well know.
I will keep an eye on him, and Miss Weasley can be warned against playing with him at breaks and dinners, but I see no problem or worries with the friendship.
However, I will keep you informed if anything significant does happen between him and Rose.
Ginny Weasley,
Head Mistress
The Young Magical Children's Institute of Learning
This wasn't the first letter she got from Ron, and he wanted Liam out of the school. However, it was against the law to kick a child out of school for absolutely no reason. She believed that she should try and help him to not go down his father's path. She wrote a quick note to the school dormitory mistress, telling him to bring Liam into the headmistress as she needed a word with him.
A few minutes, there was a knock on the door. After Ginny shouted, "come in," a middle-aged woman with kind eyes was followed through the door by a small boy with brown hair and brown eyes. He had quite a slight build.
"Thank you, Mrs Watch. Can you leave us to talk, please?"
Mrs. Watch nodded and left quietly. After Ginny heard the door shut, she turned her attention to Liam. "Take a seat, Liam. We need a chat."
