Ch 13

I looked up as this woman's eyes landed on Catt, her smirk turned into a genuine smile. She hopped down landing gracefully on the tip of her toes, "your wolves, they are set up in a cabin in Bend." My mate placed a hand on her hip and tilted her head, "you came all this way to say that?" the blonde woman shrugged not at all deterred by the attitude "would you have answered your phone had I called?" Catts lips pursed "fair enough." They stared each other down and both sets of eyes watered before Catt sighed and leaned down for a hug, she whispered something into the blondes ear before straightening up. "Alright, this is Cynthia, the phone call I had made. These are the Quileute wolves and their Alpha Jake. These are the Denali's, ran by Tanya." She quickly introduced them though they all still regarded her warily. "how you do you know they are in Bend?" One of the wolves asked her and she turned a blinding smile towards him and for a moment he seemed absolutely charmed before shaking it off "because that's what I do pup. Information is my forte, especially information regarding the supernatural world." Her smile turned more into a smirk as her eyes traveled around the surrounding people, the look in her eyes however turned to confusion when it landed on me and Lauren. "humans?" She asked Catt who had tensed immediately, "a conversation for another time. Though I am surprised you don't already know."

"mmm your location is all I ever have, you make quite sure of that. But back to the matter at hand, the wolves they are in fact a part of Andre's pack and they are hiding out in a cabin in Bend Oregon."

"do you know what they are up to?" The woman simply shrugged, "I have not looked too deep into it yet, I assumed he was doing what he always does, trying to take over more territory. Now considering this gathering I'm not sure." One of the wolves leaned forward and sniffed at her ignoring the way she leaned back, a look of disgust on her face. The wolf ran into the woods only to come back as an irate Sam. "what are you! you smell like her, but not, more wolf like." My mate let out a snort before uttering "yah I bet she does." The girl, Cynthia swung her elbow back into her stomach as she let out a pained grunt. "sorry." Sam was basically foaming at the mouth as they ignored him until he was in her face, everyone tensing "What. Are. You?" She rose a brow "boy you may be twice my size but if you don't back up I will drop you."

"Sam-" Catt interrupted Jakes own snarl "it's alright Jake I got it, Sam, you remember earlier? You know that feeling?" She placed her hand against his bare chest and I swear his darkened skin paled dramatically. "you remember that don't you Sam?" He simply nodded his head quickly "great, then shift back and join your pack again. Now." Even Jake was shocked when he took a step back and shifted back into his wolf, taking his place next to Embry. "What kind of mess have you gotten yourself into kitten."

"hell if I know. Ok so, looks like I'm taking a trip to Bend." I was not surprised Kate's hand flew into the air with a "I'll go with you." I was however shocked at Catts immediate "No." Her face fell and Catt rushed to explain "I need you to stay with Bella and Lauren while I'm that far away. And what I said to Tanya still stands, werewolves are no joke." And that smile was back. "Of course I'll stay with Bella, but you aren't going alone." Her tone broke no argument.

"You can take Paul and Embry, And I'll have a couple wolves with Bella and Lauren to, just in case."

"I'll go with you to-"

"Hold up, Tanya-"

"Yes yes I know werewolves are no joke, they are stronger than us. But if the wolves are going, I'm going. Like Kate said you aren't going alone. With enough people with experience we will be fine."

"I'll be coming to." I was not shocked Jasper volunteered, nor how uncomfortable Alice looked "I'll be staying here, I can't see past the wolves so I'd be pretty useless in a fight." I could already tell Catt was thinking of a way to argue the way her lips pursed, I walked up to her and wrapped my arms around her, "you're not going alone, let them help you." Her jaw clenched as she fought every instinct to argue. "Fine" she grumbled but I was to focused on Cynthia's wide eyes as she took me in with a whole new light. She shook it off "I'll go with you to, wouldn't hurt to have another Were."

"Cynthia-"

"Not asking permission" she practically sang. My mate groaned and rubbed a hand down her face "I think I miss the days when I didn't give a fuck." I pressed against her and leaned up "you mean you want to go back to before you met me" I pouted. It had the effect I was hoping for as her arms wrapped around me "Never." Was all she said. "This is indeed more interesting than I thought it would be, you never disappoint Catt. However I do believe we are about to have some company." We all looked confused "I don't hear anything?" The woman tilted her head just as Alice froze and her face blanked so I knew she was having a vision. It only lasted a couple of seconds, "she's right, Edward and Carlisle are on their way."

"great. Alright, how about this coming weekend then, It will be easier if Bella and Lauren spend it on the reservation instead, and maybe take Charlie with you."

"I can have Billy talk to him, I think it will be good for them both. I will however have to talk to the council about allowing the vampires on our land."

"perfect, then we will leave Friday evening and run there if there are no objections." Everyone agreed just as Edward and Carlisle walked out into the clearing. "What's going on here?"

"Nothing that concerns you."

"Actually it does concern us Rosalie, or have you forgotten we are a family. And that is my mat-" Catt silenced him with a hand on his throat, "did you not get my warning boy?"

"Enough, let him go! You are on my land and I demand-" she dropped him without a care to take Carlisle by his throat in a second. "The moment you let your 'son' leave my mate alone on the forest floor you forfeited this land to me. The moment you disregarded the rules written millenniums ago you forfeited your right to claim anything. The moment I stepped foot in this state the land was no longer yours. But if you truly believe you hold any rights anymore where I am concerned, by all means challenge me for it." She easily tossed him to the side but never took her eyes off of him as he tumbled around trying to gather himself. He wasn't even upright before Edward was launching himself at her, she didn't turn toward him but one second he was headed for her and the next she was gone and he was hitting the ground. When she reappeared she had his entire arm in her hand and a piercing scream echoed through the trees. She casually tossed the arm at Carlisle "Now if you two don't mind we were in the middle of something."

"My arm!"

"Oh relax, we both know you can reattach it. It's just gona hurt like a bitch." She smirked as she once again took me into her arms knowing it would piss him off but he was now to scared to do anything. "Tanya are you going to allow this?"

"Allow what Carlisle? He attacked her, she was just defending herself. He claimed her mate as his own, would you not have reacted in the same way?"

"Bella is-"

"not yours Edward, it's time you act like the gentleman you think you are and accept it. You wanted her to move on and she has."

"Rosalie your brother-"

"he is not my brother Carlisle, he has never been my brother."

"how could you say that! We are family and-"

"no we aren't! There is you, Esme and your golden boy, don't act like this is a family Carlisle. You turned me for one reason, to be his mate so don't act like I mean anything to you. I have my family right here, and that includes Bella so if I need to knock him down a peg or two so be it." Ok I admit that surprised me but I wasn't going to bring it up now. "Rosa-"

"alright were done here, Irina do you mind carrying Lauren back if she doesn't mind?"

"of course." Irina replied with a strained smile as Laurens face reddened. I climbed onto Catts back with a "he's very fast can you outrun him?" she gave me her best offended look "even if he had all of his limbs id leave him in the dust babe." With that she took off back towards my house with the vampires following and the wolves heading back towards the reservation.

We ended up in my backyard surrounded by the vampires of Tanya's family and the new Were. "well that was fun." I had to laugh at the new blondes tone as Catt sent her a small smirk, a flash of jealousy flew through me before I remember Catt telling me she was like a sister, and the pain in her eyes at the loss of her. "perhaps another introduction Catt?" She spoke carefully while gesturing towards me, Kate visibly tensing and shifting closer, not unnoticed by anyone. "…right. This is Bella…my mate." I expected her to congratulate her best friend but her first words that followed a hiss was "does your mother know?"

"No…not that I'm aware of."

"wait what does your mother have to do with Bella-"

"a conversation for another time Kate. Simple theory until we have what we need from Bend."

"which is what Catt? What exactly is the plan when we get, if we find the wolves there."

"the wolves are there now, and they did not appear to have any plans to move anytime soon. But I agree with your…vampires, what is the plan Catt."

"…how many wolves are there Cyn?"

"7, including Ryder."

"whose Ryder?"

"Andres brother and enforcer. Great." I could tell how stressed my mate was as she once again ran her hand through her hair. "Alright, were going to go hunt and give you some time with your, friend. Were also going to look into somewhere else to stay for the time being."

"of course, there's a place not far from here that may suit your needs."

"thank you we will check it out. Don't do anything stupid and go without us." They simply disappeared from sight not even bothering to play human. I unlocked the door and led them in through the kitchen knowing my father was still at work. Once I took a seat next to Catt who threw her head back and Lauren, I took in the new Were "so your Cynthia?"

"you've heard of me?"

"Catt mentioned you a little after calling you."

"ahh, she forgot to mention you, no that's wrong, she avoided mentioning you. She's very good at that."

"I've noticed, though I am curious why you're here."

"straight to the point, I may like you human. Do you know why Catt called me?"

"to ask about her mom and brother." Her eyes widened as if she expected me not to know anything. "Correct. That alone was enough to concern me, the second call got me curious enough to look into things. The answers I found were enough to bring me here." I nodded "so you're a werecat as well?"

"I am. Though not one as rare as Catt here." My mate let out a snort "still pretty rare Cyn." She met my questioning eyes "My beast is a snow leopard, rare but there are still a few hundred of us, unlike her."

"and what's your beasts name?" This time she turned her shocked eyes to Catt "your human is quite informed."

"she is my mate."

"yes, well if I had any doubts they are now gone. Her name is Shira. Now, the other human?"

I tensed but Catt simply kicked her feet up, "Family. She will also be turned."

"your turning them?"

"if they choose to yes."

"and if they don't?"

"…did you come her to lecture me?"

"…no love, I came to figure out what the hell is going on. What is your plan?"

"with the wolves? To get them to talk, figure out what they are up to, what Andre is up to."

"why?"

"people are dying."

"and you care why?" My mate was silent for a good minute staring at the blank TV, I didn't expect her to answer at all until Cynthia's patience wore out a growl slipped through her lips surprisingly fierce from such a small woman. "Catt!"

"…wolves, shifters, and vampires are all working together. Terrorizing the town, leaving bodies strewn across the ground, leaving evidence of our existence." She finally looked up and met her eyes "what else?"

"…Targeting my mate. One of the vampires is from Isabella's past and may be targeting her still, I will not stand for it." She nodded her head in understanding before turning to me "you want to turn?"

"yes." I answered with no hesitation. "has she told you what it is like child, have you witnessed the agony." She almost snarled the words out at me as Catt tensed, but again there was no hesitation "yes."

"…then why?"

"because I love her. I want to spend forever with her. Any pain I need to live with to do so is worth it." She stares at me for a while before letting out a sigh "what is your plan Catt."

"to get one of the wolves to talk, preferably Ryder."

"and then?"

"then I deal with it Cynthia."

"…do you want me to call Aidan?"

"no, I do not need to involve anyone else, your mate has enough on his hands."

"if you need him he will be here, you know that. It may help to have a wolf, a real wolf. No offence to your shifters."

"they aren't my shifters, and right now I don't want him here until we know what's going on for sure."

"wait, your mated to a Werewolf?" I had to interrupt as everyone seemed to be making them out as monsters, even though Catt told me she had friends that were. "I am indeed mated to a werewolf." Catt let out a snort "and not just any werewolf but an Alpha." My eyes widened "really? I just thought, I mean, you kind of made it seem like werewolves are…-"

"Monsters?" the blonde asked with a raised brow as my face reddened before she continued, "my mate is a lot of things, but he is no monster."

"I'm sorry I didn't mean-" she waved it off "I take no offence, not all werewolves are monsters, as not all vampires are, and not all humans are saints." I nodded my head in agreement knowing there were humans that were far worse, and I could never consider Catt a monster. "so imprints can happen to anyone then? No matter…uh species or anything?"

"Correct, though it is rare, and frowned upon."

"frowned upon why?" Catt wrapped her arm over my shoulder "you remember when I imprinted on you and I had said it should not have been possible? Well that is because it's rare for one of my kind to be mated to a human, we tend to imprint on our own kind to keep our blood lines pure, that's just how it is. But I am an Alpha so not only is it rare, its unheard of. I am the first Alpha to imprint on a human, the first to imprint on anything other than were. That were aware of at least."

"but your parents-"

"were not mates, and even than they were both Were, even with my fathers…gifts he was a Were." It took me a minute to force the question out "does imprinting on me put you in trouble or danger?" Her arms tightened around me "nope." The blonde snorted "she lies to an extent. It is highly frowned upon, even with me and my mate, but the situation is similar to Catt's, very few dare to speak out against them both."

"you don't have to worry mon ange I assure you." I leaned into her but changed the subject back "you will be waiting for Tanya to go with you right? And the wolves?" She sighed and I could tell she was not happy, "yes love, but I can't wait later than Friday, the following Tuesday is the full moon."

"Good, and what if the council doesn't approve of Kate and Alice staying on the reservation?"

"I don't know, you may have to stay here then and have them come to you."

"you think that would be safer?"

"Yes, the wolves can come here if the vampires can't go there. I would feel much better with Kate with you. At least I know you'd have one person here willing to lay down their life for you. Same with Irina here."

"You trust these vampires that much Catt?"

"yes, they are older and more experienced then the wolves."

"…Ok, so Friday then?"

"yes, we head leave early in the morning and should reach there by sunset."

"Great, that means we have a whole day tomorrow to catch up!" The little blonde clapped her hands together with a little hope and bright smile that reminded me so much of Alice. "I have to take them to school, and pick them up." I was so not going to let her throw this chance away "the Jeep is here, Lauren can drive us so you two can spend some time together." I could feel how tense she was but this was for the best. "Perfect, your humans have their ride and we get to catch up."

Catt POV

I sat there fuming with my mate in my arms as I wracked my brain for some kind of excuse or reason for Cynthia to go home. "don't even think about it Kitten. I'm staying and I am going with you."

"…fine. Tomorrow we will scout out Port Angeles and catch up while they are in school."

"perfect."

"wait! hold up! You're going back there, just you two? Are you crazy?"

"Relax babe, having Cynthia there as back up is better than if I had the entire wolf pack with me. We will be fine."

"…you promise?"

"I do." She finally nodded her head before leaning more into me. "Great, now that that is settled, I will leave you to your humans while I head to your place in Port Angeles."

"of course, I will join you in the morning." With a nod she quickly vanished. The room was silent until Lauren spoke up "she is tiny." A laugh burst past my lips "yes but she is fierce. I meant what I said, having her as backup alone would be plenty. Relax I am still taking the others to."

"good. Is it hard seeing her?"

"…very, but she will be a lot of help."

"And her mate? Would it help calling him?"

"not without more information, he has enough to deal with as Alpha, his pack is fairly large. Maybe later. But it's getting late and I'm sure you two still have homework and whatnot."

The rest of the evening I lounged on the couch with the tv on while they finished up any homework they had. A couple times Bella told me I could take off and spend more time with Cynthia but I quickly shot it down, though I couldn't tell you why. You have missed her. I know, but you know why we left. …I know what you tell yourself is the reason we left. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath before a solid weight landed on my stomach, I wrapped my arms around her without opening my eyes. "Lauren went to bed."

"did she?"

"yes, and my father is stuck at the station for another couple hours."

"mm is that so my love?" I rose a brow as she bit into her bottom lip. That was all it took for me to have her upstairs in seconds, laying her onto her bed as I leaned over her, the look in her eyes driving me crazy.

I took my time removing her clothes knowing she was close to losing it, but I did not expect her to growl in frustration before flipping me over until she was straddling my waist. She quickly removed her remaining clothes before tugging at mine. I quickly helped her remove them as she attached her lips to my neck. We both knew the mark wouldn't last but that didn't stop her from trying. I tried to sit up reverse our position but she slammed me down onto the bed and in no way was I going to argue as she slowly trailed her lips down my body. I fisted my hands into the sheets beneath me as she took a nipple between her teeth and tugged. It amazes me how confident she has become from the shy woman I met in a bar months ago. Her tongue swirled around as her hand slid down between my legs. Everything became a blur as her fingers moved in and out as our bodies moved together.

When I woke up next, Bella's door was thankfully closed, but I was alone in bed as the shower ran in the next room. I stretched my sore muscles out before rolling out and into some sweats and a tank top. I waited until Bella walked in to place a kiss to her lips and take my own quick shower.

By the time I made it downstairs they were just about ready to leave. "Are you hungry babe?"

I shook my head "no I will probably grab breakfast with Cynthia."

"ok, and you two will be careful?"

"yes mon ange we will be careful. And you two will as well, Lauren your driving?"

"yea, and we will just come straight here after I'm guessing?"

"yah that's for the best. I'm going to head back home now and I will give you a call later, have a good day at school."

"we will, love you."

"I love you to." I placed a kiss to her lips and gave Lauren a quick hug before heading for my bike. Within minutes I was flying down the highway towards Port Angeles, and as usual I reached it in record time.
