"Ok, what about the time we went to visit our friends up in Hoenn?" Darkrai questioned with arms crossed, "Wasn't it you who got us to go a different way, causing us to get lost?"
"We only got lost because of the storm that happened, causing us to take a different route," Luna pointed out.
"And who chose that route?" the Nightmare Pokemon asked knowingly.
"Only because we didn't know that route! And we got there eventually to celebrate their birthday!" Luna retorts with a huff, "Besides, knowing your sense of direction, we probably would have ended up in a much worse situation if we went the way you wanted to go."
"Yeah right! I know my way would have taken us straight to them!"
"In your dreams!"
"How long are those two going to continue fighting?" Tetra asked a bit concern as she looked back to the two seemly arguing Pokemon.
"I'm not very sure," Danny answered unsure, "If they are anything like my friends from back home, they are going to be like this for a while...or until something caused them to change the topic." Just then he spotted a familiar figure in the distance, "Hey, isn't that Roark?"
At the mention of the Rock-Type gym leader, the argument caressed and the two turned to look towards the mines, "Isn't he supposed to be at the gym?" the Nightmare Pokemon questioned.
"There's only one way to find out," the Halfa commented as he took off towards the mines with Darkrai following right behind him.
"Hey! Wait for me!" Luna cried out as she chased after the two.
"You don't have to rush!" Tetra called out laughing as she chased after them.
Once he was sure that it was indeed Roark, the Halfa called out, "Roark!"
Upon hearing his name, Roark turned around to investigate and couldn't help but smile, "Danny! Darkrai! Luna! Long time, no see!" then he noticed the brown bird resting on the boy's shoulder as they stopped before him, "Who's that?"
"It has been a while hasn't it," Danny agreed smirking, "Oh, this is Cinnamon. She's the newest member of the team."
"Man, you guys are fast," Tetra commented huffing a bit out of breath, finally managing to catch up to them.
"Hi!" Cinnamon greeted as she jumped over onto Roark's shoulder ignoring Tetra, "How are you? You seem like a nice person. Are you a gym leader? You don't look like a gym leader, you look more like a miner."
"Sorry, she's a bit talkative," the Halfa apologize as he rubbed the back of his neck.
"More like can talk your ear off if you let her," Phantom commented.
"Looks who talking," the Ghost Boy joked forgetting that there were two others around them.
"Yeah right," the Dark-Type huffed, "What about you? I'm sure you can talk someone's ear off with one of your rants."
"What rants?" Danny asked instantly.
"You know what I mean," Phantom grumbled with an eye-roll, "I heard your mental ones rather I wanted to or not."
"Those don't count," the Halfa whined crossing his arms.
"Wait...You can understand it?" Roark asked him surprised as he watched the two banter.
"No?" the Halfa answered though sounding like a question.
"Are you sure? Because it sounded like you two were arguing about something," Tetra pointed out not that convinced, "And how do you know Roark?"
"We met back in Canalax City, where I was helping him with something," Danny explained happy with the fact that he dodged a bullet there, then something caught his attention, "How come you're not at the gym?"
"Besides being a gym leader, I'm also the head miner here," Roark explained as Cinnamon jumped over onto Danny's shoulder, "So does that mean you are up for a gym battle?"
"Maybe later," the Halfa answered smirking, "I have a couple of other things to do first."
"Like teach someone not to talk so much?" Phantom grumbled staring at the one in question.
"Hey, I don't talk that much," Cinnamon chirped in denial, "Well maybe a little bit, but I can't help it, I have so much to say!"
"Too much in fact," the Dark-Type pointed out.
"More like training and so far I think it will be impossible for her to stop talking" Danny answered without thinking and soon saw the looks he was getting.
"I guess you can understand them," Tetra commented smirking at the scene, then she gained a look of shock of realization, "Wait! You can understand them!?"
"Uh...Maybe?" the Halfa answered trying to hide the fact but knew that it may not work.
"Why didn't you tell us?"
"I didn't see a reason to bring it up."
"I wonder if that was how he was able to communicate with his team during that battle," Roark muttered to himself.
"Can you tell me what Shine was saying earlier? Did she say anything nice about me?" Tetra asked as she stepped closer to Danny with each question causing him to back up, in turn, a bit uncomfortable with how close she was.
"I think we should give Danny some space," Roark suggested noticing how the Ghost Boy was starting to feel uneasy and how some certain Pokemon looked to want to jump in between the two, "How about I take you guys into the mine and show you what we recently discovered."
"That sounds good to me," Danny agreed, taking the escape route and slipped over by Roark.
"What did you guys find?" the Pokemon Coordinator asked.
"You will be needing to follow me if you want to see," the Rock-Type Gym Leader answered as he led the way into the mine with the rest of the group not that far behind him.
"How is it that I'm having a harder time keeping I can understand Pokemon a secret, then being half ghost?" Danny mentally asked himself as he shook his head.
"Then I guess you shouldn't be talking to everything that talks to you," Darkrai joked back through their link.
"Then I guess I should stop talking to you," the Halfa suggested smirking.
"You don't have to go that far!" the Dark-Type quickly jumped in.
Danny just smirked at the quick response as they entered a giant open area with something unbelievable at the center. In the center of the room, was a pale pink crystal-like pillar reaching from the floor to the ceiling, with what looked like a pink pterodactyl with blue wing membrane in it and there were smaller crystals surround the pillar at the top and bottom. Looking closer, the dinosaur-like creature had its wings wrapped around its body with its head hanging over them. "Wow..." Danny whispered impressed at the sight, "But what is that?"
"That is an Aerodectal," Roark informed him, "It's a Pokemon that had once roamed the planet back in the prehistoric era. But what most impressive about this one, is that it is somehow still alive within that crystal-like substance."
"Wait, it's still alive in there?" the Ghost Boy asked shocked, how could something still be alive after so long?
"It's a miracle that it is still alive to this day," Roark agreed with a nod, "We always find them as fossils, so it is quite something to find one in this state."
Danny walked closer to the trapped creature to have a closer look at it. Without thinking, he placed his hand on top of what felt like a surprisingly smooth glass-like surface, causing it to glow a faint, beautiful neon green at that spot. Noticing the sudden glow at his touch, Danny stared at his hand in interest, "Strange, I wonder if this is supposed to happen."
"This is so amazing!" Tetra exclaimed as she walked up to the pillar, "I always thought that these guys were all just fossils! How long do you think it has been in there?"
"Maybe over a million years or so," Roark answered as he came up to it and placed his hand onto the surface and looked up at the frozen Pokemon's head, "So it quite surprising how such a great creature can still be alive in such a material."
Danny looked over at the spot where Roark was placing his hand and saw that there was no reaction happening to his touch, "I wonder if it is somehow reacting to my ghost half," the boy mumbled under his breath for the others won't hear.
"What reacting to your ghost half?" Darkrai questioned overhearing his friend, then he spotted the faint glow. He stared at it for a little bit before saying, "I guess you have the power."
"And it's not exploding on me for once," Danny sarcastically joked.
The Nightmare Pokemon gave him a confused look trying to figure out what he meant. Deciding to let it pass, for the time being, he placed his hand on top of the crystal as well and found that glowed a faint black for a bit, then returned to normal. The Dark-Type glared at what happened, took his hand off and put it back on, causing it to glow once again then died off, "I think it's broken."
"Or you just don't have the touch," Luna joked watching what took placed, "Like me!" she then placed her wing on the substance, causing it to glow a faint pink for a bit, then returned to normal.
"And you were saying?" Darkrai asked, he would have a goofy look if his face could be seen.
"No comment," the Psychic-Type commented with a huff.
Up above, Cinnamon is seen flying around the pillar firing off so many questions at once, but once she spotted what was happening down beneath her, she drove down. "Let me try!" she exclaimed as she landed on top of her unexpected target's head, which was a certain Dark-Type, and slapped her wing against the crystal. From the Normal/Flying-Type's touch, the spot started to glow a faint combination of a light gray and blue.
"Get off of me!" Darkrai growled as he swats his hand at the bird sitting on his head, causing Cinnamon to take off and land on Danny's outstretched arm.
Wondering what could be happening over on the other side, Tetra looked around the edge of the pillar catching Cinnamon taking off of Phantom and landing on Danny's outstretched arm with a glowing hand? Blinking a couple of times to make sure she wasn't seeing things, she asked, "Danny, how are you able to get your hand to glow?"
"What do you mean by his hand glowing?" Roark asked coming around the corner to get a better look and noticed the green glow, "That is different."
"What do you mean?" Tetra questioned with a small tilt of her head, "Doesn't it glow for everyone?"
"Not really," the gym leader answered shaking his head, "The only time we have seen it glow is when a Pokemon touches it and it will glow the colour or colours representing their typing. But even then, the glow will only last for about a minute or a few seconds and it seems to be lasting for Danny for much longer for some reason."
"I don't really know why it is reacting like this ether," Danny agreed as he quickly took his hand away to not draw any more attention and causing Cinnamon to jump off and take her spot on his head. The glow from the crystal-like pillar lasted for a few seconds before fading away. All of a sudden, he felt as if he was being stared at and looked up at the pink dinosaur and was sure he caught it staring at him for a moment, "Strange."
Seeing Danny staring up at the entrapped Pokemon, reminded Tetra of a question, "Are you going to try to get the Pokemon out of there?"
"We been thinking about it, but we are not sure if it is a good idea right now," Roark explained, "The scientists incharged of the prehistoric Pokemon, believe that until we figure out what this substance is, we should leave it be, because it may be the only thing that could be keeping it alive."
"Prehistoric Pokemon?" Danny asked.
"Yeah, there a museum here that has a section dedicated to looking into and restoring fossils back into living Pokemon,"
"You can actually bring Pokemon back to life?" Tetra asked shocked, "Is there any chance we can see some?"
"Maybe," Roark answered thinking about it, "They may have everything cleaned up for the most part by now."
"What do you mean?" Danny asked with a feeling that a ghost attack happened.
"We had a bit of a problem a few days ago, but it has been taken care of," the Rock-Type Gym leader explained.
Deciding to let what the incident was for now slide, the Halfa turned his attention to his team, both Darkrai and Luna were both competing to see who could keep the pillar glowing the longest and Cinnamon was still on his head enjoying the view. "Um, guys? We are going to be heading over to the museum now and I think it would be a good idea for you to go into your ball for now Luna."
"Do I have to?" the Lunar Pokemon groaned at the thought.
"So you want the whole city to be staring at you?" the Nightmare Pokemon teased.
"No, but I also don't want to be in what feels like a small space!" Luna insisted, then a thought hit her, causing her to look at Danny with a big smile, putting him a bit on edge, "Unless you will get me a whole bag of cookies later."
"Fine, what kind?" the Halfa sighed.
"Extra Sweet," Luna answered with a look of victory.
"Fine," Danny agreed as he took out her Pokeball and returned her to it before she could change her mind. He then looked up at the bird sitting on his head, who was in turn, looking down at him, "You too Cinnamon."
"Awww, I want to see some more," the shiny Starly whined, "Plus I want to make that strange crystal glow some more! I want to see if it will glow any other colours besides grey and blue for me. Maybe purple! Or red! How about pink or white?"
"Maybe some other time," Danny smirked at the energic Pokemon.
"Fine," Cinnamon sighed a bit disappointed as she was returned to her ball.
As Danny was putting the Pokeballs away, he noticed the amused looks he was getting from the other two, "What?"
"I thought you said that Luna didn't like being in her Pokeball," Tetra pointed out.
"Ya, she said that she would only go in if I get her a bag of extra sweet cookies later," Danny explained rubbing the back of his neck.
"Extra sweet? Is there such thing as that kind?" Roark asked as he led the way out.
"I think she means sugar cookies," Danny explained, "Or cookies completely made out of sugar or cookies that people find super sweet."
As they left the open area, unknown to them the Aerodectal had opened its eyes watching them leave but closed them not long after.

Roark led the group to a giant white building that looked to be working on repairs, with Darkrai hiding in Danny's shadow. Danny couldn't help but stare in amazement as they walked into the building, there displays of what looked like ancient objects, fossils and a giant skeleton of some kind of creature, "Wow."
"You can say that again," Tetra commented in awe at the sight.
"You haven't seen anything yet," the gym leader assured them laughing as he led them over to a desk with two people who looked like some kind of scientist by a door.
"Roark, we haven't seen you since the incident," one of the scientists greeted, "Is there anything you need?"
"I was hoping that could show my friends here the Prehistoric Habitat," Roark explained as he gestures to Danny and Tetra.
The scientist seemed to be in thought for a moment as if he was debating before speaking again, "I believe we can allow that, but please don't try to catch any of the Pokemon you will see in there, they belong to the lab. Also, please be careful when we are in there, the Pokemon are still a bit on edge over what had just happened and some are still are not use to humans, so they may be a bit scared and attack."
"Gotcha," Danny agreed as he and Tetra nodded in agreement.
The scientist smiled, glad that they agreed to the terms and led the group through the door behind the desk. As they walked down the hallway, windows started appearing on the wall that was looking out into what looked like a whole other world with some strange looking planets and Pokemon. Danny stopped in his tracks as he was distracted by what lied on the other side of the glass, "Who knew that they were able to grow those kinds of plants," Darkrai commented as he came out of the boy's shadow and looked out the window.
"What do you mean?" Danny questioned as he turned his attention to his friend.
"I haven't seen any kind of these plants on my travels and if they recreated the environment for those Pokemon, then they must be just as old as they are," the Dark-Type explained.
Noticing that they were being left behind, Danny quickly ran to catch up to the group as Darkrai drove back into the boy's shadow. "What kind of Pokemon are out there?" the Ghost Boy asked as he jerks his thumb to point at the wall with the windows.
"Those are all Pokemon that we revived from some of the fossils that Roark's team found as they mined, that date to maybe millions or billions of years into the past," the scientist explained.
"Wait, you bought them back to life!?" Danny asked surprised.
The scientist nodded, "We have devices here called the Fossil Restorer that allow us to bring fossils that are found back to life. Some of the fossil Pokemon we revived so far are Aerodactyl, Kabuto, Kabutios, Omeanyte, Anorith, Armaldo and Lileep just to name a few."
"That's cool," Danny commented somewhat understanding what he was talking about.
"What is it like seeing a fossil being brought back to life, sir?" Tetra asked with her eyes sparkling with excitement.
"I forgot to introduce myself, didn't I? Please call me Dr. Kenzo, I'm the director of the lab here," the scientist introduces himself, "And to answer your question, it's always an unbelievable experience to witness seeing a fossil becoming a Pokemon that was once alive in ages past right before your eyes. You can say that it as if they are phantoms of history still lingering around, witnessing what the world they once knew came to be."
Danny couldn't help but snicker a little bit, causing Tetra to look at him strangely, "What so funny?"
"Nothing," Danny told her smirking.
"Why not?" the coordinator questioned.
"Because it's part of a secret," Danny answered, then mentally asked, "So are you one of the phantoms that are still lingering around?"
"Says the ghost," came the mental retort.
"I'm not that old," the Ghost Child mentally huffed.
"And we are here," Dr. Kenzo announced as they walked through double doors into a huge room that looked like the one they saw through the window.
Danny looked around the room in amazement as he saw all the different kinds of plants and Pokemon, then he spotted something that looked a bit out of place, "What happened over there?"
Roark noticed the wall that had a thick metal plate covering it, "That must be the wall that they just finished repairing from events that happened a couple of days ago."
"What happened?" the Ghost Boy questioned, he only really saw this type of repair whenever a big ghost attack happened.
"Just a bunch of thieves trying to steal one of our Fossil Restorers and let lose an Areoduyle that we just finished restoring out on a rampage," the director sighed from the memory, "That was just some of the damage that happened that we just finished repairing."
"Were the thieves caught?" the Halfa asked, "And who were they?"
"I believe they called themselves Team Rocket and unfortunately they managed to escape by being blown away when the machine they stole exploded," Roark explained to them.
"Team Rocket?" Tetra asked as she tapped her chin, "I think I read about them somewhere saying that they are an evil organization from Kanto that tries to steal other people's Pokemon for their cause. Whatever that may be."
"What a wonderful group of people," Danny sarcastically says, then trailed off as he noticed something happening not that far away from them.
Not far away from them, there was a small grey dinosaur that looked like a Pachycephalosaurus, was playing with other small looking dinosaurs. The small dinosaur had a hooked beak, red irises, a red dome on the top of its head, with four spikes on the back of its head and a large red spike pattern on it's back. It also had short arms with three claws on its hands, its feet had three claws pointing forward and one pointing backwards and a short tail. Playing with this dinosaur was a smaller version of the Aerodactyl they saw in the crystal, but this one was more of a purplish-pink colouring. The other dinosaur in the group was yellow with what looked like a shield-like mask. Danny couldn't help but smile at the sight, from how small the three looked, he could only guess that the three could only be babies. From the corner of his eye, he noticed a bigger version of the purplish-pink Aerodactyl was coming in fast with its feet outstretched, aiming for the babies and it didn't have a nice look. "Oh no you don't," Danny started sternly with a serious look as he dashed off towards the babies hoping that he would make it in time.
"Danny, what are you doing?" Roark called out as he saw the teen dashing off, then he noticed the danger with wide eyes, "Oh no."
"What's oh no?" Tetra asked confused about what was happening, then she saw the danger that Danny was running into, "Danny, watch out! Get out of there!"
Danny heard the concern shots his way, but ignored them as he pushed forward knowing that he would make it. Without missing a beat, the Halfa jumped forwards, grabbing the three Pokemon and rolling away from the spot just as it landed in the exact spot they left. "Are you guys ok?" Danny asked as he quickly looked the three over.
"Why wouldn't we be?" the red and grey dinosaur asked confused on the matter, when he looked over the boy's shoulder, he spotted the angry dinosaur standing where they were once playing, "Oh..."
The angry dinosaur in question looked their way at the group and noticed the boy who saved his prey glaring at him. In turn, the Aerodactyl glared back, causing everyone besides the boy to flinch, "What do you think you're doing?"
"Just saving the three you were just about to attack," Danny answered with a small eye roll, wasn't that obvious?
"What makes you think I was trying to attack them? I was just trying to give them a little scare," the Ground/Flying-Type asked trying to reason.
Danny just stared at the purplish-pink dinosaur with an unamused look, "So you saying that coming at someone with that look, like that isn't considered attacking?"
"Mister, please don't anger him further," the yellow dinosaur pleaded nervously, "He's still on edge from the rude awakening he had."
"That still doesn't give him the reason to attack others," the Halfa states as he stood up to face the attacker.
Before any more could be said, the Aerodactyl came flying at them in anger for an attack. Quickly acting, Danny pushed the three out of the way as jumped into the air to try to dodge without really relying on his ghost powers in front of others. As the flying dinosaur came rushing under him, Danny grabbed ahold of the back spike and managed to get on. Noticing the unwanted passenger, the Aerodactyl growled in anger as it started to rush upwards and doing different sharp turns to try to get the boy off, "Get off of me you weakling!"
At all the sharp twists and turns, Danny held on tight, "Hey, it's not like I planned this to happen," but soon gained a mischievous smirk, "But that doesn't mean I'm not going to take advantage of this," using a bit of his ghostly strength as he pulled right with the back spike, forcibly making the Aerodactyl take a sharp right turn.
"What are you planning?" the Dark-Type asked as felt the mischievous intentions.
"Just giving him a taste of Phantom Flying," Danny answered mentally as he made them take a sharp turn upwards, "Well without the intangibility and invisibility," he added in as then made them go downwards and making them do a loop de loops, then out loud said, "Welcome to Air Phantom, where we promise to give unforgettable rides."
"Do you that this is a good idea?" Darkrai asked, knowing full well what Danny's newest victim was about to experience.
"Hey, it's his own fault for letting me on him and then try to get me off in mid-air," the Halfa retorts mentally as he then caused them to start doing zig-zags, "Plus he did start attacking for no reason."
"You do realize you may get in trouble for this?" Darkrai asked, even though he was a bit glad that someone else could enjoy this crazy flying.
"Won't be the first time," Danny answered with a shrug as he straightened them out, ready to start doing some more loop de loops.
"Please no more!" the Aerodactyl cried out in unease and sounding a bit dizzy, "I can't stand this flying anymore!"
"What? Not used to flying like this?" the Halfa asked knowingly with a smirk.
"Please, just make this stop!" the Ground/Flying-Type pleaded, "I'll do anything! I promise! I'll even stop randomly attacking things!"
"You promise?" Danny asked sternly to make sure.
"I promise! Just make me stop making these crazy turns! I can't handle it anymore!" the Fossil Pokemon cried out wanting it to end.
"Good," Danny states as he loosens his grip allowing the Pokemon to regain control.
As they made their way slowly to around the Ground/Flying-Type couldn't help but ask, "How were you even able to handle that?"
"That's a secret," Danny answered smugly as they landed and got off.
Once Danny was fully on the ground, he was quickly tackled to the ground by the three baby Pokemon causing him to laugh. The red and grey dinosaur stared at Danny and there looked to be stars in its eyes, "That was so cool! You were so brave! Can you teach me to be that brave?"
"I don't think there isn't really anything I can do to teach you to be brave," Danny answered as he recalled some of the events he went rushing into without thinking.
"Are you sure?" the same dinosaur asked as Danny gave a small nod.
"Can you at least tell us what makes you so brave?" the small Aerodactyl asked sounding a bit nervous.
Before Danny could answer, Tetra, Roark and came rushing over in a panic. "Danny, are you ok?" Roark asked in concern being the first one to reach the boy.
"Yeah, I'm ok," Danny answered smirking as he turned his attention to the Gym Leader and the other two approaching, "Nothing that I can't handle."
"Really? Because to me, it seems like you were about to cry," the Nightmare Pokemon joked mentally.
"Really? How about I give you an express ticket for a flight on Phantom Airlines later?" Danny mentally joked.
"Ah, no thanks," Darkrai quickly answered without a second thought.
Dr. Kenzo walked up to the larger Aerodactyl to try to get a look to see if it was injured anywhere and was surprised at how it wasn't trying to lash out as usual. As he looked closer, it seemed to be shaking a bit, as if it was nervous about something, "Whatever happened up there, got it to stop lashing out whenever we try to approach it."
"All I can say is that he didn't want to go another crazy flight and promised not to randomly attack things," the Halfa answered casually with a shrug.
"Wait, you were the one responsible for it to start flying like that?" Dr. Kenzo asked shocked and noticed how the Aerodactyl in question backed away from Danny a bit from the mention of the crazy flight.
"What can I say, I have a knack for crazy flying," Danny stated with a knowing smirk. He then felt something tugging on his pant leg, he looked down and saw the three baby Pokemon pulling his pant leg, trying to lead him somewhere.
"Come play with us!" the small Aerodactyl tells him, with the other two agreeing with him.
"Is it ok if I play with these guys for a bit?" Danny asked looking over at Dr. Kenzo.
"I guess it would be ok," the director answered with a nod, "Just be careful of the other Pokemon around you."
"Yay!" the three Pokemon cried out in joy as they pulled Danny off to somewhere.
"Don't I get a say in this?" Darkrai asked mentally.
"Nope," Danny answered mentally smirking.
"Figures," came the mental grumble in reply.
"What, doesn't want to play with the baby Pokemon?" came the mental tease.
"No, and don't call me!" the Dark-Type retorts through the link causing Danny to laugh.
Danny followed the group over to a big tree, unaware of the once attacking Aerodactyl following them, "So, what are your guy's names?"
"I'm Tiny," the small yellow dinosaur happily answered.
"Flow," the tiny Aerodactyl answered as she flew up onto the Halfa's head causing him to laugh.
"I'm Razor," the red and grey dinosaur told him as he stood proudly.
"What's your name, Mister?" Tiny asked a bit embarrassed from not asking earlier.
"Danny," the Halfa introduced himself.
"Can you tell us what your secret to being brave is?" Razor asked as he raced around Danny once and started jumping up and down in excitement in front of him.
"I'm not sure if it's much of a secret, but I kind of just do things without thinking" Danny answered rubbing the back of his neck a bit embarrassed, he just hopes that the three Pokemon won't go head-on into danger without thinking first.
"I guess that explains how you were able to save them even though you saw the danger," came a voice behind them.
They turned around to see the Aerodactyl behind them, causing Tiny and Razor to hide behind Danny's legs in feat, as Flow hooked onto Danny's shoulders to hide behind him. "Pretty much," the Halfa answered with a small shrug, "Rushing into danger without thinking has become a bit of second nature. Plus, I can't help but jump in when I see someone in danger. Well, most of the time."
"And how many times has that gotten us into trouble?" Darkrai joked from the shadows, causing the group besides Danny to look around wondering where the voice came from.
"Please, all the trouble we got into so far has not been from me running into it," the Halfa tells him, "But I can't help if it finds me."
"Who's there?" the Aerodactyl asked as he looked around to get and find the source of the voice as the baby Pokemon stayed hidden behind Danny in fear.
Without needing to be asked, Darkrai slowly rose from Danny's shadow. Feeling a presence behind them, the baby Pokemon turned to witness some kind of creature coming out of the shadows. Fully out of the shadow, Darkrai looked down at the group by Danny and with a small glow in his eyes, "Boo."
Being pretty much the closes to the unknown being, Tiny, Flow and Razor cried out in surprise and fear as they raced over to hide behind the Aerodactyl. "Was that really necessary?" Danny asked trying his best not to laugh.
"It's not like you wouldn't do the same," the Dark-Type pointed out.
"You have a point," the Halfa admitted.
"Who-Who-Who are you?" Tiny stuttered out of fear, unsure if the newcomer was someone they should fear or not.
"No one you need to worry about," Darkrai answered as he crossed his arms.
Finally coming out of his shock, Aerodactyl went down into a defensive stance and growled, "Who are you and what do you want? And how did you get in here?"
Tiny, Flow and Razor looked between Aerodactyl and the stranger unsure how to act. Without thinking, the ran away from their new friend to hide behind the one that just tried to attack them, were they safe or in more danger? "You have no need to know who I am and how I got in here. You need to figure that one out yourself."
Watching this happen from the side, Danny was trying his best to burst not into laughter and was having a hard time doing so. "What are you laughing for? He could be here an enemy!" the Aerodactyl cried out once he noticed the Halfa failing to hold back his laughter.
Managing to get his laughter back under control, to the best of his ability, he gave Aerodactyl an amused look, "Trust me, he is no enemy," then he turned to look at his friend, "Right Phantom?"
"That depends," the Dark-Type answered with a shrug as he came out to the open for they can fully see him.
"Are you going to hurt us?" Flow asked with a bit of fear as he poked his head out from behind the older Aerodactyl.
"Nah and even if I wanted to, Danny would probably stop me and get my butt handed to me," Darkrai grumbled causing Danny to look amused.
(x)(x)(x)(x)(x)(x)(x)(x)(x)(x)(x)(x)(x)(x)(x)(x)(x)(x)(x)(x)
"What a Darkrai doing here?" Dr. Kenzo questioned, surprised and scared at the sight of a Darkrai appearing out of nowhere, "How did it get in here? Should we try to chase it away or call the police? We need to get it out somehow!"
"Don't worry about Phantom," Tetra assures him, " I don't think he will try and do anything with Danny there."
"Phantom?" the director asked confused as he stopped in mid-run, almost falling over when he was about to take off to try to get someone of help.
Roark gave him a small nod, "He is one of Danny's Pokemon."
"Then how come I never noticed him with him?" the director questioned as he calmed down a bit and turned his attention to the group in the distance.
"He was hiding in Danny's shadow," Tetra explained, "Danny explained that Phantom doesn't like being in his Pokeball, so he hides in Danny's shadow to not attract too much attention to them."
"I wonder why a Darkrai would want to travel with a trainer," Dr. Kenzo asked no one in particular, "I read somewhere that no one really wants to own one due to the fact they give nightmares. But there are a few that will still try and catch one regardless of that fact. I guess that boy is part of one of those few." Looking at his watch and noticing what time it was, he called out, "Danny, it's getting late! You can come back at another time and play with them again if you want!" he just hoped he didn't just anger that Darkrai any.
"Looks like I gotta go," Danny announced to the small group after hearing the director calling out to him.
"Do you have to go?" Razor whined, disappointed that their new friend had to leave already.
"I'll try and visit you guys again sometime," the Halfa tells them, hoping that will help somehow to cheer them up.
"Really?" Tiny asked with a hopeful look.
Danny nodded and then turned his attention to Aerodactyl, "If I hear that you started a fight for no reason again, there won't be just crazy flying next time."
"Do you really think you be able to take me down?" the Aerodactyl asked amused, "I bet you couldn't even take down a bug, you be needing your friend's help."
"I'm sure I could take you down just fine by myself," the Halfa tells him with a bit of an evil grin.
"Maybe against another human," the Ground/Flying-Type stated, "But against one of us? You will be creamed."
"I'm sure I would be fine," the Ghost Boy admits as he crossed his arms.
"Trust me, Danny would be fine in a fight, even though he doesn't look it," Darkrai tells him with a small laugh.
"What does that mean?" the Halfa asked confused.
"Nothing," the Dark-Type answered smirking.
"Really? He doesn't even look like he can take a single attack," the Aerodactyl points out confused.
"Trust me, not everything is what it seems," Danny tells him as he let his eyes glow a bright green for a moment before returning to normal as he walked away over to Roark and the others.
Darkrai couldn't help but snicker at the confused and surprised looks on the dinosaurs' face as he quickly caught up to Danny and drove into his shadow. "What took you so long?" Tetra questioned once Danny was with them and they started going back down the hallway.
"I was just making sure that the Aerodactyl wouldn't be attacking anyone again without reason," Danny explained causing them to look confused.
"How are you so sure that he will listen?" the director questioned, "It wouldn't listen to anyone before, what makes you think it will listen now?"
"Unless he wants to go on another flight from yours truly," the Halfa answered smirking.
"So Danny, when are you thinking about dropping by the gym to win your next badge?" Roark asked as they made their way down the hallway.
"I'm not sure, maybe in a few days," Danny answered as he thought about it, "I want to see what my team can do, especially with Cinnamon."
"I can't wait to see what you can do," Roark tells him, "After watching your battle with my dad, I can't wait to see what you can do against my Rock-Type Pokemon."
"Wait...You fought against Byron and won?!" Tetra asked shocked when she saw the nod from the Ghost Boy, her eyes lit up in excitement, "Can I see the badge? I always wanted to see what his badge looked like!"
"Sure?" Danny answered not really seeing what the big deal was as he fished the badge out of his pocket and showed her. As the Mine Badge was bought out, it glistened as the light hit it.
"It looks so cool," Tetra exclaimed as there were sparkles in her eyes.
"You haven't been given a badge case yet have you?" Roark commented in realization, "I think I may have an extra one back at the gym you can have."
"Really?" Danny asked surprised.
"You can come and pick it up tomorrow at the gym," the Rock-Type Gym Leader suggested as they entered the main room and the doors closed behind them. With a nod of agreement from Danny, Roark noticed the clock on the wall and saw the time, "I should be going, I'll see you tomorrow then," and with that, he took off to the door with a small wave.
"I should be getting back to work as well," Dr. Kenzo commented, "It was great meeting the both of you, feel free to drop by anytime you like," he then made his way back through the doors where they just came from.
"What are your plans now," Tetra asked as the three of them made their way out of the museum.
"Most likely the Pokemon Center to get something to eat and some rest," Danny answered as he looked up at the sky and saw that it was starting to get dark.
"How about we head over there together?" the coordinator suggested, "I'm also staying over there as well."
"Sure," the Halfa agreed as they made their way over to the Pokemon Center.
I hope that they don't have any of that factory-made food," Darkrai grumbled at the thought from the shadows, "If so, I'm not eating it. No matter what you say."
"Then what are you going to eat?" Danny questioned.
"Some of the stuff you made," the Nightmare Pokemon answered knowingly.
"Should have known," the Ghost Boy grumbled.
Tetra couldn't help but laugh at the conversation, even though she could only understand about half of it.
Hey guys, FariyFlare here. I hoped that you guys enjoyed the newest chapter of Phantom Nightmare that is finally here. Sorry about taking a long time to get this chapter typed up and posted. I have been kind of busy and been getting distracted by other projects I have in mind. Since it been a while since I updated, how have you guys been? Are you guys glad that the year is almost over after everything that has happened so far?
Anyways, this chapter was a long one, I think it was much longer than the gym battle one and I think the next chapter is going to be even longer lol.
For now, I think that is all I have to say, for the time being, it's like 3:30 am here, and I just want to head to bed, but I wanted to get this done before I headed to bed.
Once again, I hoped that you guys enjoyed this long-awaited chapter.
If I don't update again soon, Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you guys will have a Happy Holiday and a Happy New Year!
Until next time, Flare, over and out!
