After that, making it to Besaid was easy. At least , until we got there.
After our run in with Sin, it hit Besaid. When we saw the beach and port destroyed, we knew. And I had a feeling that I knew what had happened.
My feelings were right, when we the minute we reached the shore and the villagers appeared. They needed Braska to preform the sending. Three kids caught my eye. Two with red hair and one with black. Wakka, the older of the red heads, was holding his brother in his arms. Lulu stood away from the group, looking down at the ground.
"What is your name?" I asked her, since I was not supposed to know her. She told me her name and asked if we were going to send her parents. When I answered yes, she seemed to be relieved.
Braska must have heard this because he came over and started talking to her too. Wakka saw this and walked over, followed by Auron and Jecht.
Wakka was just as scared as Lulu, but he was trying to be brave. I looked at them and asked if they wanted to dance with us. Their eyes lit up as they asked if they could.
"I don't see why not. You can help me with the sending. How about you dance with Roselyn?" He told them with a smile.
They cheered, and I asked if I could hold the baby. Wakka looked worried, but Braska assured him that it was ok.
"See my tummy? I am going to have a baby too. So I know how important it is to hold a baby." I told him. " Besides how are you going to dance with your baby brother in your hands?" Wakka nodded and handed Chappu to me. I cradled him as Wakka and Lulu prepared to dance.
The adults that were left thanked me and Braska for including them. As soon as Braska was ready, he motioned for me to get the kids started.
"Okay kids. Are you ready to dance for the sending?" I asked them only to get a resounding yes. Braska started, and the kids started trying their best to mimic him. I rocked Chappu while watching the kids to make sure they didn't get to close to Braska or the water. Auron watched me this time, while Jecht watched Braska.
When Braska was done, he kept dancing just for the kids. Finally the kids finished and Braska stopped. The adults told the kids it was bedtime and that they needed to head back to the village. That is when they asked me if I was able to come to the village with them. My heart melted.
"Of course we are. I will carry Chappu, and you two can hold on to me. You are safe, I can promise you that." I told them as they grabbed onto my skirt.
There wasn't many fiends on the road, and Auron, Jecht, and Braska were able to handle them. Lulu watched Braska's magic wide eyes, while Wakka talked to Jecht about wanting to be a blitzball player when he grew up.
