Hey! I'm back, with another...set of letters. This time, the person doesn't die! Well, technically, they did die, but these letters are before the death happened and she was resurrected. This time it's Gwendolyn, more commonly known as Gwen, from the Fifth Cohort! She was one of the Centurions before she left the Legion after ten years of service and stuff. So...here we are.
I want to apologize for the long gap between updating this, I got really busy with finishing other stories, and school started, and this isn't an excuse because excuses suck...they're reasons, though. I'm going to be finishing this really soon, as I don't have the time or energy for this story anymore- it's dear to my heart but not something I want to pursue.
Plutonium-239: Yes. We did hear that surname in the Demigod Diaries, from the lovely Halcyon Green. And yes, your theory could be very much incorrect, and the diary of Luke Castellan was Hal's. But I won't tell you how off your theory is, for funsies!
Solangelo is too good for me: Thank you!
Solangelo is too good for me: I know that you changed your name, because even though I wasn't there I had looked at your profile again and saw it had changed...so yeah, that's...stuff. I know that you're still who you used to be. Anyway...on with the review, as you said.
Thanks. And, she is a normal person on the outside, and she's not as stable on the inside. She just looks like she is. Thanks! I like to think it's an awesome story even though two people read it. I guess now it's three. But anyway...and yeah. It's different than something you see on here...I guess that's what you get when I get real inspiration from a Camp Jupiter prompt XD
I'm going to be blunt here. If you didn't know it was cruel to sever twins...it makes me a little bit sad. Just a little bit. I read on one of my various searches related to everything twins that it is 'the closest bond nature can provide', and I agree with that...so anyway. Thank you!
ThatGirlWithaCat: Well, his name is Rick Bayless. If one is to be named Bayless, that must mean, he does not have his own bay. Yes. One can never be too sure, unfortunately.
Oh. Why would it spellcheck 'Mexican'? That's an actual word, ya know...or, yeah, you were thinking about band. That was probably it...XD
Does your mother know Elton John? Cause that would be cool. ...do you know this child named Leighton? I don't think Elton John has a kid named Leighton though...shad. Happy plus Sad. Sadness again...bye!
Azure Bluet: Thank you! I'm glad you think so. :/ The puzzle might be hard...IDK, I came up with it. Thanks again!
Sorry this was a late. I was dice shopping...X_X...which is harder than you might think! And I was also completing a story called 'Hands and Words are Not for Hurting', now completed. And then life got in the way and this sentence is from November...I haven't abandoned this thing. :/
Update: Sorry, to anyone who read this when I posted it on the sixteenth.
It was not ready. ;-;
Dear Mira Green, from Gwendolyn:
Dear Mira Green, September 4
You know, I was surprised to hear from you, Mira. It's been a while, I daresay. Since you left for what you called...leisure. I was surprised Reyna actually let you go, you know. After all, you haven't served for ten years or anything, and you were quite valuable, as you say, Lupa trained you very well.
Last I heard you had left for somewhere in small town Idaho. Why?
I miss you.
Gwen
Mira wondered once more about how much the Hunters knew. After all...
Dear Gwendolyn, September 8
Yes, I guess it has been a while. I heard the Legion attacked Mount Othrys, led by Reyna and Jason, and I hope you all are alright. I would have written Leila, of course, but the both of us have had a bit of a falling out, due to...some issues. But this isn't about Leila and myself. Reyna took some time to convince, but it happened, and now we're here the way we are and everything's okay. And I don't think I could spend ten years in the Twelfth Legion...and yes...my mentor trained me well.
It is true that I left for small town Idaho when I left the Legion for leisure. I was seeing some friends that were also visiting Idaho, and it was as good a place as any. They travel a lot, anyway.
Thanks.
Mira Green
Gwen was just confused. Mira was very vague, but she was a friend, and because she was a friend it didn't matter if Mira was being vague...purposely or not. Mira often did things not on purpose, she got confused at times. It was endearing to Gwen, endearing but in the same sense not. After all, Mira was eccentric and she was often the sort of person who you were friends with but didn't actually know.
Dear Mira Green, September 11
Yeah, we did. It was, well...it was war, after all, and yeah, there were some casualties, including in the Fifth Cohort, but we're alright as a whole. Really? You and Leila are after all sisters, and you've had a good relationship before now...well, I'm sorry, then. Truth be told, I thought you were a little...optimistic, in thinking Reyna would hear you out, she is, after all, a stern Praetor, and that is a good thing, however it can be a little annoying. Why not? I know I'll probably be in the Legion for at least my ten years of service. Your mentor? Lupa is everyone's mentor.
Some friends? I've never heard of them, how come?
It's true.
Gwen
Mira Green stood atop a stone cliff in some part of the world.
"Mira?" she didn't take her eyes off of the sky.
"Yes, Noelle?"
"She'd take you back."
"I don't care."
Dear Gwendolyn, September 24
Yes, there was the Titan War...it's good to hear that the Fifth is alright. How's the Fourth doing? And, you know...the Third and the Second and the First, of course. And yes, Leila and I are sisters...however, gods don't have DNA, and so really we're just people with the same absence of DNA. And I can be very persuasive...Reyna cooperated. She's not totally unreasonable, but she is a strict praetor. Rome wasn't built on slacking around- there's a lot of diligence there after all. I don't know...the Legion's not my place. That is really all I can really say.
I don't talk about them much...and we also had a falling out.
Still.
Mira Green
Gwen didn't understand her friend Mira Green all that much, but she knew enough not to press too much...after all, Mira was Mira. That was really all there was to understand.
Dear Mira Green, September 29
The Fourth cohort- I remember it was yours- is good. Of course, we're still kind of looked down upon, the Fifth and the Fourth, but that's just how it is, I guess. One day. Well, I hope you solve whatever it is with Leila. Oh? Reyna...cooperated? That makes you sound like some sort of gang leader, you know. I hope you aren't...gosh, that would be weird. And yeah. Rome is about the discipline. The Greeks were more about...well, if there's anything still there in the Camp Half-blood...more chaos. Well, Mira...I hope you do find your place.
Oh no?
Still.
Gwen
Mira wondered how much Gwen knew...how much was there to know anyway?
Dear Gwendolyn, October 3
Yeah, it was mine. Leila and I probably won't be solving our issues. After all, I have places to go far away from half sisters who can't understand me. And believe me, that's a lot of half sisters...and half brothers, I suppose. And yes. Reyna knows how to compromise...even though Romans don't compromise. Maybe I am a gang leader. If I were, would you care? Still there in the Camp Half-blood? Thank you.
Yes, I have a lot of falling outs. It's alright.
(Why are we saying still?)
Mira Green
Gwen didn't know why they kept saying still, or why their letters were so short, or...many of the things here. She only knew what she knew- that Mira was a daughter of Ceres, that she'd been all over the place, that she was sketchy. She suspected the Amazons, but wasn't sure if it was the right thing to be guessing.
Dear Mira Green, October 14
Places to go? Do you ever give a straight answer to anything?
But Mira's response didn't come until well after the second Giant War.
Dear Gwen, August 31
There's a simple answer to that.
I can't.
Miracle Greene
:/ this is a mediocre chapter. This story's probably only going to have about fifteen chapters.
