Hello everyone! Here is another chapter along with a thanks to everyone who has gone over and read my other fic! The first official chapter is up and the second one will be up soon!
Onto reviews...
SilentAmbiance: I'm so glad you noticed! I was worried that it kind of came out of the blue, so I'm glad you picked it up! I'm glad you like the sister location one! I hope you will like the revision as well! And ah yes, Ft Freddy is very fun to write. And yes, they will help him.
Fantom Knight: I'm so glad you are excited for it! And I'm super glad you picked up on his issues! And yes, it will certainly sadden them, but Leo is a guy with a lot of issues and being friends with him means exposure to that. I'm glad you are curious about his past! It will be revealed over time bit by bit I promise! Also yes, despite all his issues, Leo does care about those around him (even though he will deny it)Yes, I do plan on having SpringBonnie and William have separate personalities (also have big plans for when he comes in)
PK - SPRINGTRAP HUG MEH: I don't think it's weird, it's quite a interesting idea! And yes, Leo does certainly need to eat. I'm so glad you like Foxy! And as for the oc submission, sorry I didn't clarify, but I won't be taking oc submissions for this story. I have things planned out already. Sorry for not saying it sooner!
Guest/Areader: Ah, okay! My mistake! Thank you for the clarification!
I own nothing but my OCs andideas.
Chapter 28
A Child's Distress
"Uh... hello, hello! Uh, see, I told you your first night wouldn't be a problem. You're a natural!" The two guard's entered on the sound of Scott talking on the recording. Enix set Leo down in the chair and handed him the tablet as he peered out of either hall taking a deep breath.
"No one so far boss." But Leo just nodded in response, flickering through the cameras and listening to Scott speak.
"Uh, by now I'm sure you've noticed the older models sitting in the back room. Uh, those are from the previous location, and we just use them for parts now. The idea at first was to repair them... uh, they even started retrofitting them with some of the newer technology, but they were just so ugly, you know? And the smell... Uh, uh. so the company decided to go in a whole new direction and make them super kid-friendly! Uh, those older ones shouldn't be able to walk around, but if they do, the whole Freddy head trick should work on them, too, so... whatever." At that Leo stiffened and looked at the tape player. He couldn't help but wonder if Scott now knew how sentient they were...and how much all of that had hurt them back then…
"Uh... heh... I loved those old characters. Uh, did you ever see Foxy the pirate? Oh wait, Foxy... Oh yeah, Foxy. Uh, hey listen! Uhh, that one was always a bit twitchy. Uh... I'm not sure if the Freddy head trick will work on Foxy. Uh, If for some reason he activates during the night, and you see him standing at the far end of the hall, uh, just flash your light at him from time to time. Those older models would always get disoriented with bright lights. It would cause a system restart or something. Uh, come to think of it, you might want to try that on any room where something undesirable might be. It might hold them in place for a few seconds. That glitch might have carried over to the newer models too." At that Leo blinked and Enix turned to look at the recorder, and then paused pulling something from his pockets.
Leo watched as he pulled a flashlight from his pockets, it was a flashlight, the new guard turned and grinned at his comrade. "Lookie here, we got a defense." Leo nodded and took a breath.
"Good, good."
"One more thing: don't forget the music box. I'll be honest, I never liked that puppet thing. It's always... thinking, and it can go anywhere... Uh, I don't think a Freddy mask will fool it, so just don't forget the music box." Scott continued, and it made Leo think back to the dead Scott saying the same thing.
"Well, at least we got the box and many to spare this time!" Enix cheered, causing Leo to blink out of his state and turn back to the tablet. The originals had already gone to the back, and Leo was sure the Puppet had already turned them off somehow.
"Speaking of it, start winding it up. The office is pretty close to the prize box so it should work." Leo said, flipping through the cameras. Enix nodded and started winding up the box.
"Uh, anyway... I'm sure it won't be a problem. Uh, have a good night, and I'll talk to you tomorrow."
Leo wasn't sure how, but he had a feeling that Scott was wrong, and that this would be a really rough night.
His fears were only confirmed as he spotted Bonnie in the main dining room camera. He was holding his guitar and staring up at the camera. The guard took a deep breath.
"Blue Bonnie is on the move again." He said and Enix nodded, before pausing and looking at Leo.
"Hey, whatever happened to your Bonnie head last night?" He asked and Leo merely pointed up. The younger guard blinked and looked up, only to find the Bonnie head stuck in the vent.
"Huh...Puppet?"
"Yup."
Enix shook his head and reached up, he had to get on his toes but he reached the ceiling and jerked the head down with a grunt. He turned it over and brushed over the indented fur, getting it to look normal again.
"There we go." Then abruptly he put it on Leo's head, the older guard jumped and looked back at him, having to move the head as well.
"What the %%% Enix?"
"You need it more than I do. I can still run and defend myself." He pointed out, and the guard took a breath grumbling under it and turned back to the cameras.
"Okay...so do we just wait?" Enix asked, glancing between the doors.
"I guess so, things might be returning to normal tonight." Leo muttered in response, Chica was also on the move, and he would swear he saw Mangle gazing at the cameras once. Bonnie had made his way to the hallway already. "Keep an eye on the left hallway." He muttered as he flickered to the cameras only to pause when he saw the curtain of Foxy's cove shift. Frowning he stayed on that camera and looked closer, there was no way to see inside. He proceeded to check up on everyone...and all of them were accounted for. The music box was still playing so it wasn't the Puppet…
So who was in Foxy's cove?
"Yup, our blue friend is hanging out at the end." Enix took a breath and leaned out the door. "Honestly, was this how things were before?" He turned to look at Leo, but the older guard didn't look up. "Boss?"
With a jump, the out of uniform guard looked over, "what?"
"I asked if this is how it was before. This...waiting." he made a motion.
Leo glanced around before down at the cameras.
"Uh, yeah...it's a lot more ominous when you are alone..." he muttered squinting at the cove just as the curtain jerked out like something fell against it. His brows furrowed deeper and he pulled the camera closer to his face.
"Yeah, I guess I can see that. Honestly...these guys are freaky...but the originals are a lot more intimidating. I don't know, I guess there is a difference between creepy and threatening." Enix continued, but Leo was hardly listening. Something was spazzing out inside of Foxy's stage.
Only for it to stop suddenly, he swallowed and watched as the curtain slowed to a sway...before finally going still.
The guard wetted his lips, and felt his blood run cold as a single hook wrapped itself around the edge of the curtain and pulled it back.
"Oh *..." he whispered hollowly. Enix frowned and came over.
"What? What's wrong?"
"Shut the door." Leo ordered gazing at the camera's as Foxy's single yellow eye found it.
"What? Wait is that Foxy? What is he doing up?" the blue haired guard asked, and Leo tensed as the fox took a stiff step out off the stage.
"I said shut the door! Shut it now *!" The guard snapped and Enix jumped back surprised before darting to the door. He slammed it shut just as Foxy on the camera took off sprinting.
Not even seconds later...there were several loud bangs on the door that made both of them look toward it.
"What...what the %%..." Enix muttered gazing at the door wide eyed. Leo swallowed thickly.
"It's...it's Fritz..." he muttered, and the banging continued, seeming to get louder at the name. Enix flinched and backed up to where Leo was.
"Fritz...was one of the kids right?" The newer guard asked hoarsely. Leo wetted his lips and nodded.
"Yep..."
The banging finally stopped, but neither made a move to open the door until Leo confirmed that Foxy had returned to his cove. Enix slowly went to open the door, only to close it immediately after.
Leo looked up, brow furrowed.
"What?"
"Our friend Bonnie is here!" He said in a mock optimistic voice. Leo tensed and looked at him before swallowing.
"...which...Bonnie?"
Enix glanced at the door before turning back to him, "the toy one." At that Leo let out a deep breath of relief.
"Okay...okay, good." He paused, "well...not good, but better then the alternative." He admitted before returning to the cameras. The night had just started and they were at seventy percent power. "Check the lights and open the door when he is gone." He paused, "also remember to wind up the box." He reminded.
The older guard would do it himself, but the tiny controls were practically impossible to do with his casted fingers.
The tapping of the screen had to be done with his ring finger and pinky, which was interesting, but doable.
"Leo...if Foxy is out then we have a serious problem." Enix voiced, and Leo took a breath.
"It's not Foxy, Foxy wouldn't do this. This is Fritz doing, I don't know why he is the only child active, but here we are." He muttered before taking a breath, Enix nodded and checked the light before letting out a relieved breath and opening the door.
"He's gone." Leo nodded with a breath and turned back to the cameras.
Mangle had moved, and Leo watched Chica walk across the dining room as Enix wound up the music box again. Freddy was still on stage, and Bonnie had gone to the corridor gazing up at the camera. The Puppet was still in his box.
However, Leo made a mistake...he wasn't keeping track of Balloon boy.
A sudden giggle to their right made both guards turn, only to find the smallest animatronic gazing up at them with that permanent grin on his face. His hand was on the buttons…
The light and door control buttons had been ripped out and the wiring had been yanked out as well.
"*! Get out of here!" Enix yelled as he came over, the child animatronic only gave a wave and a giggle before darting out of the room. The blue haired guard went over to the destroyed buttons and started trying to put them back on, only to curse hard and jerk away as he was shocked. He hissed and put the injured fingers in his mouth before turning to the older guard and shaking his head helplessly. Leo hissed a dirty swear before turning back to the camera. They were at the lower sixties now.
"Alright, we have the flashlight, it's two, we can do this." He looked at his younger compatriot. "You have that hallway and the music box, I'll monitor the left door and the cameras."
Enix nodded with a breath and took the flashlight from his back pocket and turned it on peering out of the now useless doorway.
", Chica's here." He growled, and the animatronic turned to face him, Enix almost yelped as he watched her eyes disappear from their sockets, and white pinpricks to replace them.
He fumbled with the flashlight before getting to the control buttons and flickering it rapidly keeping the light pinned on her.
The bot stumbled looking disoriented and the blue haired man grinned happily...until the flashlight was snatched from his hands by an exposed endoskeleton limb.
Slowly the guard looked up only to find the eyes of Mangle gazing down at him, her face in a perpetual grin as she held her jaw open, revealing all of those teeth.
The sight made Enix laugh nervously and slowly back up into the room. The bot slowly crept into the room and the guard swore heavily.
"Leo!" He called and the older guard turned to look only to swear as well. "Keep the * head on." He ordered baking away from the broken animatronic.
"You should take it!" The older guard countered but Enix shook his head as he got to the other doorway.
"You can't move idiot! Keep it on and keep quiet!" He ordered before darting from the room.
Leo tensed as he was left alone with the broken fox, he watched as she moved from one ceiling piece to another. Creeping toward the opposite side of the room.
He should do something, he hated sitting here and waiting...but what could he do? Should he rely enough on Mangle's almost non-hostility to him? And even if it isn't Mangle...the others don't have a qualm against killing him…
"Mangle!" He barked before he could help himself, the bot stiffened and looked around the room, she couldn't find him and Leo found himself relieved for the mask. "Listen to me, Enix is no threat. Neither of us are! I know you and the others were told that we helped with the murders but I swear on my life that we weren't!" He took a breath as the bot stilled, seemingly listening to him. "I know you were trying to protect me yesterday. I know you are scared and in pain. I know you guys can feel pain. I can't imagine what you are feeling. But you need to listen. We fixed our Foxy...we can fix you too. You can be like the others again...no longer in pain. We have people who can fix you...properly." His voice grew softer, the bot hung still from the ceiling, gazing at the ground and seeming to think.
A strange static noise emanated from the being and Leo wetted his lips.
"I...I can't understand you...but I want to help you. Not just because you saved me...I want to help all of you...all the toys too. The originals...they are happy now...don't you want that?" He asked, his grip on the pad tight.
There was silence for a few more moments, then more static followed, and the bot turned itself around and left through the right door again.
Leo wasn't sure what that meant, but he hoped it meant she stopped her pursuit.
He watched the last bit of her busted wiring leave the room before he let out a shaky breath.
Now if only the others would just stop and listen…
Enix had one goal, if he got backstage or the parts and service, he could get another head and manage to hide from all the toys.
As he ran down the hall and into the dining room he shakily pulled the music box from his pocket and started winding it up. He was so grateful they had taken the whole box.
He came to a halt in the dining room and looked around with a hard breath, only for his eyes to land on toy Bonnie who was on stage where original Bonnie usually stood. Enix stared at him and the blue rabbit stared back down.
"...what are you doing?" He couldn't help but ask, the rabbit narrowed his eyes and gazed at him cooly.
"You tell no one about this." The hare ordered and Enix raised his hands in surrender.
"Hey, you do whatever you want man, so long as it doesn't involve killing me." The animatronic rolled his eyes and mocked a huff.
"Oh right, we still have to do that." He then grabbed the handle of his guitar with both hands, and lifted it like an axe. "I'd run human."
Enix let out a nervous chuckle, "way ahead of you buddy!" He darted toward the kitchens, but he attracted the attention of Chica, if the gleeful shriek was anything to go by.
He shut the kitchen door behind him and backed up into the old kitchen. The newer guard had only just been in here the first time yesterday, when Jamie had ordered them to help out.
It was just as grimy in the dark…
He looked around for someplace to hide, even looking in the cabinets, and then swearing as he realized he was too big.
Sometimes Leo's size could be beneficial.
The newer guard whipped around at the creak from the door, he let out a nervous laugh and backed up as both the toy animatronics entered the room.
"Hey guys!" Enix tried as his eyes flickered around for anything he could use as a weapon.
"Ugh, these kitchens are disgusting." Bonnie muttered as his eyes flickered around the room.
"Bonnie not the time!" Chica scolded before continuing to approach Enix. The guard took a breath and looked over to the counter, he spotted a skillet used for making the chicken on the pizza and grabbed it.
He held it up like a baseball bat and took a breath, "should've brought my lug wrench..." he grumbled as he watched the two animatronics approach.
"Just don't hit my face alright? Anything but the face." The rabbit pleaded and Enix chuckled, gripping the handle more.
"Won't touch yours if you don't touch mine." He proposed, only for the rabbit to mock a sigh.
"Well that's unfortunate." And then, before Enix could counter, the animatronic leaped onto the counter causing it to dent. And as Enix's attention was on him, Chica lunged.
He only just dodged her, and used the momentum of hitting her with the skillet to jerk away quicker.
His back hit the edge of the counter and he cried out sharply as his body was jerked into an arched position. The guard had to recover quickly as he caught a glance of Chica turning to look at him with her blackened eyes.
Enix let out a pained chuckle and gripped the skillet harder, "looks like I got a dent in you birdie! Still haven't gotten one in me!" He exclaimed, she was in fact dented, the impact of the pan had caused an indent to form on the side of her head.
She hissed and lunged for him again, but just as Enix was about to dodge her, a hand grabbed his hair and yanked upward.
The guard let out a strangled shout and his hands went flying to his head and he dropped the pan, a quick glance upward told him that it was Bonnie holding him.
"Sorry pal, programming is programming." The rabbit shrugged, and Enix cursed turning his attention back to Chica, but at this point it was too late.
The force of a bot slamming into his body is not something the guard would like to experience twice.
That or her screaming a deafening shriek in his face.
The guard held his chest panting hard, but he had no chance to recover, as Bonnie released him, she grabbed him and started hauling him from the kitchen. He heard the sound of Bonnie hopping down from the table, but he was fighting too much against Chica to care.
He could feel the hair fibers ripping out of his skull as he fought her, kicking her hard with his foot as he hopped along side her.
"* LET ME GO YOU * *!!!!" He screamed at her, kicking her harder and harder, finally she seemed to notice and grunted hard, stumbling a bit, Enix took this opportunity to kick at her hip joint. She cried out and automatically released him, he then proceeded to scramble away like his life depended on it.
Because it did.
He sprinted toward backstage, only to run face first into Freddy, the toy bear had seemingly appeared out of nowhere.
The guard stumbled back dazed and collapsed back against one of the tables holding his head.
Foxy was crouched in the corner of his room pawing a bit at the ground, his eyepatch was up as he gazed at the ground.
He didn't know what was wrong with him, it's like old behavior had been forced upon him. Forcing him to treat the night guards like how he used to…
There was bloodlust coursing through him, instinctively his body wanted to return to his curtain and start the whole process over again. He could hear Enix shouting from the dining room, and the toys gleeful voices as they hunted him down.
Foxy SHOULD stay out of it. For one his will was compromised, but the rules had been established...it was just to be the guards and the toys…
His head snapped up suddenly as Enix came running in gasping and slowing to the stop, only to hold his head and leaning over gasping hard.
The fox's paw curled into a fist, and before he could help it, a growl ripped from his voicebox.
The human's head snapped up and he swore dirtily before backing up and glancing back at the door. But that's when the three main toys entered.
"Oh *..." the human muttered before moving back away from all four animatronics.
Before the fox knew what was happening, his gears were creaking as he rose up to his feet. Enix snapped his attention over to him, and the red animatronic took a step forward with a growl.
"We've got you now night-guard!" Chica cheered, her eyes going black once more.
"You don't have me yet chicken!" The guard called back as he backed up, glancing between them all and behind him to make sure he had room.
The foreboding sense of something terrible happening was upon them, it had settled over the room like a cloud.
The fox tried to lock his joints, to prevent himself from lumbering forward. His eyes seemed to be the only things he could control, there had to be something the human could grab! Something he could use to defend himself!
Said human backed up more till he hit a wall and looked up at all the bots nervously, "h...hi there everyone..." he stammered with a nervous laugh.
Foxy did his best to stop his movements, but he couldn't. Suddenly he was there, in Enix's face.
Just as his hook was about to land on the terrified human before him...Foxy forced his body to a stop. He could feel his endoskeleton fighting against him.
For his sake, Enix wasn't sobbing uncontrollably, he was freaking out and pressed against the wall but making motions between them.
"Foxy! We're friends, remember!?" He patted his own chest as his hands trembled. Then the man realized and swore before pressing further against the wall. "*! I meant Fritz! Fritz! I'm not here to hurt anyone! We want to help you all! Really I swear it! I'd never hurt children!"
The fox wanted to tell him that he knew that, and that he wasn't trying to do anything, but it was hard enough to fight against his own body.
"Shut up idiot it's not either of us!" Fritz's voice exited his body with a jerk, Foxy's vision going slightly blurry as it happened.
The human's eyes widened and he took a nervous breath, "o...okay...then...then who is it…?" He asked carefully.
"WE DON'T KNOW!!" Fritz shouted, and without his consent, Foxy's vision got darker and he was jerked away from Enix and onto the ground behind him. The fox felt his body fighting the now controlling force of Fritz. He could barely see anything now, and he felt his mind being yanked back into the familiar fog of when the children were in charge.
"No! No! Don't put me away!" the red animatronic cried forcing the words from his voice box.
"WHY!? You can't fight it but I can! Let me be in charge!" The child cried in return, but Foxy gripped onto what remaining control he had tightly.
"No! No! Ya will hurt them as well!" He protested, only to feel a sudden sting in the side of his head, a yelp escaped his voice box and he heard one from Fritz as well.
"Stop fighting me! We can't be fighting each other and this other force! Let me take control and I won't touch your stupid adults!" Fritz cried, and Foxy felt his endoskeleton straining, but he didn't respond until another shock hit him.
"Swear it! Swear it Fritz!" He ordered, his voice barely coming out as a garble.
"Ugh! Fine! I swear I won't touch them this time!" The child conceded, and Foxy was certainly glad he did, because the next second...the fog overtook him and he lost control regardless.
Enix watched in intense confusion as Foxy spasmed on the ground, his voice shifting between it's normal one and a child-like one. Then the fox proceeded to go still.
The sight was so strange that even the toys had stopped and stared.
When Foxy's eyelids slid open, a bright yellow glow was revealed, and his body started jerking, like it was trying to retain control once more. Enix watched hesitantly before taking a breath.
"H...hey...you...you okay?" He wasn't sure who he was talking to, but he was pretty sure Foxy's eyes didn't glow normally...so it was either the child...or the other force they were speaking of.
The jerking stopped for a moment, before his jaw opened and closed, as if testing. "Move back."
Enix blinked at the childish voice that escaped the predators maw.
"U...uh...o...okay..." he stammered and took several steps back. Losing the ones he had gained as he had approached the animatronic to check on him.
Suddenly, there were some whirling noises, Foxy...or in this case, Fritz's arms jerked back causing him to be propped up by his elbows, then he jerked his legs up as well, planting his feet onto the ground. Then in a sudden move, he leaped into an upright position and Enix's eyes widened before he swallowed with a breath.
Leo said the children were hostile…
But before anything could happen, there was a spark on the side of the bot's head, and he stumbled with a childish cry, his right arm jerked out suddenly seeming to be out of his control. He grabbed it with his hook in an attempt to hold it in place. Only then for his left leg to jerk out suddenly and take a step forward...toward Enix.
"H...hey hey! Lets just calm down huh?" He tried backing up once again.
"What is going on here!?" Chica cried suddenly, causing Enix to remember that she was in here as well, but no one granted her an answer. Or if they intended to, they were cut off by Foxy...or Fritz suddenly lunging for Enix.
If the guard hadn't been so terrified he would've groaned.
Chica had hurt so bad…
"MOVE!" The child's voice shrieked, and Enix tried, but his limbs locked up as the feeling of fear surged through his body.
However, his shoulders were suddenly grabbed and without his consent he was jerked away from the lunging fox.
As Enix collided with whoever grabbed him, Fritz crashed against the wall causing the drywall to crumble.
Half of the animatronic's body was stuck in the wall, with his lower half still out.
Enix let out a breath and tensed as he realized the only ones who could've grabbed him was one of the toys. Slowly he looked back at his savior and possible killer.
His eyes widened when he saw toy Freddy holding his shoulders, "I...I uh...thank you…?" He stammered feeling his stomach in his throat.
The bear seemed to realize what he had done and then roughly shoved Enix away, the guard stumbled forward with a grunt at the force, and turned to give the bear a piece of his mind when a sudden shriek of frustration made them all look at the animatronic in the wall.
Enix cleared his throat and slowly came over, "hey...hey it's okay, we'll get you out of there...okay…?" He tried.
The guard...knew that the kids were dangerous, he was aware of what they had done to Leo...but in the end...weren't they just...kids? Angry and scared kids? Mentally unstable ones? Very likely...but kids all the same…
"No! No! It's not okay! It's not okay and it's not fair! We were fixed! We were fixed and we got to perform again! IT'S NOT FAIR!" The shout at the end made Enix flinch hard. He swallowed and took a breath.
"Are...you no longer fixed?" He asked stupidly, it was quite obvious that the bot would be damaged again from all this. He had been raking at his head pretty hard, not to mention his collision with the wall.
"Yes! Yes! It's not fair! It's not...it's not fair! I don't want to be locked up again! I don't want to be away from everyone!" The voice turned more emotional than ragey and Enix swallowed wetting his lips as he hesitantly approached. Then he paused and looked back at the toys, who were standing there now seemingly uncomfortable.
He took a breath and motioned to the fox, "I know you hate me...and the originals, but that's one of the kids...can you help me? He is too heavy for me to move on my own." He proposed and each of the toys looked at each other...before Chica approached first. She came over, sparing an apprehensive glance at him and going over to Fritz's other side.
"Hey there kiddo." She said, and Enix blinked at the pleasantness of her voice, and watched as her eyes returned to their sockets. "Got yourself in a pickle there huh?"
There was silence for a few moments, and Enix worried his lip wondering if the kid would react harshly.
"Y...yeah..." That made the guard blink in surprise, and he wetted his lips with a breath.
"You want us to help you? We can get you out of this wall and fix you up huh? Wouldn't that be good? Then you can entertain more kids again." She proposed, and there was a sniff and some of the drywall crumbled as he adjusted.
"I...I can be a pirate captain again…?" He asked slowly, and Chica nodded before recalling he couldn't see her.
"Yeah, a really cool pirate. So why don't you let us help you huh?" She pressed, and there was silence for a moment.
"O...okay..."
At the permission, she nodded over Freddy and Bonnie, the two toys came over and as Bonnie and Chica grasped a hold of the hips on his pelvis piece, toy Freddy took on speaking to him.
"You know, I think this cove is the coolest place in the building." He said, leaning a bit against the wall. Enix watched closely as he leaned back against the table.
"R...really? You think Mangle would like to come and stay in here?" He asked, and the bear tilted his head curiously.
"I'm sure we can ask her...why?"
"I feel...bad for her. She is broken...like me...I want to show her that the kids can be nice too...that the kids can love her like they love us." He voiced quietly, and Freddy paused a moment before nodding slightly.
"Yeah...I think that would be good. I will let her know...alright?"
"O...okay...thank you Freddy." That was in a whisper, and it was just before Bonnie and Chica managed to pull him out.
Once released, the fox stumbled back and ended up against the large ship in the middle of the cove. He put his hook to his forehead and mocked a breath. Then his glowing eyes lifted and he looked at everyone in the room.
There was a pause for a moment, until he opened his mouth to speak...only to freeze up suddenly, multiple sparks flying from his head. He spasmed and jerked suddenly with a scream, and then collapsed onto the ground spasming more.
"No!! NO!! It hurts! It hurts!! MAKE IT STOP!!!" the childish cries came out of the maw of the animatronic, and before Enix knew what he was doing he was at the bot's side. The limbs were spasming dangerously, but he did his best to dodge each one as he looked him over.
"What's wrong!? Tell me what's wrong!" He barked the order and with a trembling frame, the bot slowly pointed toward his head. Enix blinked, out of his depth. "I uh...I..."
"There is a button under his ear that will remove his head." toy Freddy prompted behind him, Enix looked back at him before turning to the crying child.
"Right...right..." he looked under each ear before finding the release button. The bear could've been more specific. Enix had to reach into the sparking area and hit the button that was on the inside of the edge on the opening where his ear was.
With a hiss, some latches released, and Enix was slowly able to remove the head. The eyes of the fox were on him and glowing brightly. Somehow the plastic orbs expressed immense pain that made Enix's trembling hands work fasted.
When his hand brushed against the sparking area, the hook was suddenly in his face. The pain filled eyes turned angry as the eyelids twisted downward. He held his hands up in surrender.
"Hey! Hey I'm trying to help okay?" This felt like working with a child who had scraped their knee.
Very reactionary…
Except this version was quite deadly…
Slowly the hook lowered, but the eyes remained on him. Enix brought up his flashlight, and mindful to keep it away from his eyes, he looked for what the problem could be. His brow furrowed deeply as he saw some wires braided like a girl's hair would be.
"What the *...?" He asked slowly, and the thunking footsteps along with the new shadows over him told Enix that the toys were right behind him.
"What is that?" Bonnie asked, peering close enough that Enix saw his ears at the top of his vision.
"Someone braided his wires…." he muttered before shaking his head.
"Suzie likes braids..." Fritz muttered suddenly causing Enix to look at the eyes watching him.
"She does huh?" He asked, keeping his tone light as he tried to figure out where the wiring started.
"Yeah...sometimes she cries because she doesn't have hair to braid anymore…" That was muttered softer, but it made Enix's hands freeze as he swallowed and took a breath.
"Well...I had a few sisters growing up, they used to braid my hair all the time. If she asks nicely I'll let her braid mine." He offered, and Fritz looked up at him a moment before at his hair.
"Your hair is blue." He observed, and Enix took a breath and gave a bit of a smile.
"Yeah, I like to keep it that color. Keeps things interesting huh?" He asked, before peering closer at the wiring. The ends were loose...but they were all touching each other, and Enix couldn't help but wonder if that's where all the sparking was coming from.
On closer inspection he confirmed that it was.
"Okay...Fritz...in order to keep it from sparking, I'm going to have to move some wiring." He warned looking at the yellow eyes again. There was a moment of hesitation, before his right eye twitched at a larger spark.
"Will it hurt?" He asked slowly, and Enix paused taking a breath.
"Probably. But it will hurt more if I keep it like this." He advised, and there was a pause as his eyes flickered downward.
"Does it mean I can be fixed again? So I can be on stage tomorrow?" The child asked looking up at Enix, the guard paused before taking a breath.
"We will see. Okay?" There was a pause, before a slight bob of his head indicated that he agreed.
Enix nodded and turned back to wires. He couldn't replace them, he knew that, but at the very least he could get them away from each other.
"Alright, here we go." Slowly he started pulling the wires, the child whimpered and shut his eyes, but surprisingly stayed still.
When there was a large spark he flinched, spasmed and cried out harder before breaking into silent cries. Enix flinched as well, but automatically put a hand on the fuzzy chest.
"Shh...shh, almost done, one more to go. Okay?" He spent a moment patting his chest lightly, and the bot's eyes slowly opened and looked up at him surprised. He offered a smile before returning to the wiring.
Finally they were all untangled, and tucked away from each other.
"There, all done." He smiled and turned to the animatronic, only to find his eyes closed, his brow furrowed, "Fritz?"
However when his eyes opened, they were no longer glowing.
The fox made a sound of alarm, both hands going to his endoskeleton head.
"Where is ma head?!" He demanded, and Enix let out a breath.
"Long story. Here you go." He handed it back over as the fox sat up and put it back on, Enix pressed the button sealing it again. "When Fritz took control something made him run into the wall, the toys helped him out, but then he started sparking and I had to undo braided wiring." He said, and the fox gazed at him a moment.
"...braided wiring?" he asked slowly and Enix nodded.
"Yeah." He got a breath and got to his feet, just as he did, his watch went off. The man blinked and looked down at it. "Well. Thought I'd never see that number again." He huffed and turned to face the animatronics behind him...only to blink.
They were gone.
So, lot happened in this chapter huh?
What did you think of Enix and the toys interaction with Fritz? What about Leo's talk with Mangle? Do you think these things will help to change their opinions of the guards? What of Fritz? Do you think his opinion will start to change? What about Foxy's whole situation? Faulty wiring can be quite the mess huh?
I'd love to hear what you think!
