Naruto Of The Uchiha
After
The next few experiences were all flashes. Naruto was going in and out of consciousness. Last clear thing he knew, was that he heard that word of only one person's Jutsu, "Tsukuyomi" and after that it all went dark. There was a thud, he felt someone grab him. But after that, it fades to bright lights in his face and people shuffling around like crazy.
One thing was for sure, he didn't know what was really going on. That was until it all went dark.
"WE'RE LOSING HIM!"
"WE NEED MORE CHAKRA STIMS!
"HANG IN THERE, NARUTO."
"Where's all the blood coming from?"
"WE CAN'T STOP THE INTERNAL BLEEDING! TSUNADE-SAMA! TSUNADE-SAMA! TSUNADE-SAMA!"
"Huh? S-sorry. Get me blood for the transfusion! He's losing a lot and fast! Get ready to restart his heart! 3, 2, 1 NOW!"
8 Hours Later
Tsunade left that room of the cave. As she stepped into a more open area, she saw Sasuki right there, Wolf and everyone on 2nd Company awaiting the news. Due to this she sighed.
"For now, he seems ok...he is nowhere near out of the woods. There's no sign that he's actually healing or recovering aside from what we do...he's actually in a coma."
"W-what? C-coma? Will h-he wake up?"
"I'm not sure sweety...that's the thing with a coma. We never know...there's a reason it generally ends with eventually pulling the plug..."
"NO! FIX HIM! FIGURE IT OUT!" Sasuki began trembling and was about to explode when Wolf and Kakashi both placed a hand on one of her shoulders.
"I'm not saying that's what it will come to...I just want to be fully transparent with you."
"Aside from that, what else is wrong? It seems like him being relatively stable is the only good news." Wolf said
"Y-yes...that would be the only good news...His chakra is unresponsive. It isn't circulating, nothing. To be precise, he has none. It's gone. It hasn't began to come back and despite the stims and whatnot, it doesn't effect him."
"That's what I feared...Has he been given the key?"
"Not yet...we only just got him to be stable."
"Give it to him now then!" Sasuki said and was pulled back again by Kakashi and Wolf.
"We will. Jiraya is making the preparations."
They all nodded and took a seat. Finally, Naruto would have what he needed and wouldn't be under the influence of this illness. There would be a recovery and he will be able to tap into his full power now...hopefully atleast.
It was unknown if the recovery would be instantaneous or how long it could take. He always had fast recoveries but this was unlike anything ever before. Then the coma...will it wake him?
Naruto's Mind
Naruto laid in an empty abyss. His eyes were shut and he seemed lifeless. That wasn't to good if this version of him was out of it. In the emptiness an orange glow seemed to appear and start to come closer. It finally reached him to show a massive nine tailed fox. It reached towards Naruto only for an odd bubble appear around him which repelled the Kyubi away.
"You need to wake up."
The Kyubi got no response. There was no twitch, nothing. It was like Naruto didn't even hear him.
"Naruto. If you can hear me, it'll be over soon. They're preparing the key...when that happens you should get better, eventually."
The Kyubi turned away and walked off into the darkness...
Naruto opened his eyes and looked around. He was being carried through a forest and yawned. "Where am I?"
"Look who's finally awake."
Naruto's eyebrows scrunched as he heard the voice and looked to see who was carrying him. "Nii-san?"
"Hello, Naruto. Didn't think I'd see you this soon."
"W-what do you mean? What is this?"
"You're kind of on a bridge between the normal world, and the pure world."
"So...I'm dead?"
"Depends...medically most will say technically. You're in a coma so you're in limbo until you somehow awaken, or..."
"Or die." Shisui nodded and set Naruto down on a log to sit while he sat across from him.
"I've been watching you lil bro. I'm proud of who you've become."
"T-thank you."
"Being nervous isn't like you Naruto. Liven up a bit. Besides. There's someone that I'm sure you would like to meet..."
"Huh?" He raised an eyebrow and looked confused.
"Hello, son."
Naruto turned around and noticed a woman in a green dress with a white shirt and long straight red hair. "K-kaasan?"
She replied with a smile and a nod. Naruto jumped from his log and engulfed her in a hug with tears in his eyes.
"It's so good to see you! I only wish your father could be here for this, you know?" Naruto could only nod as he understood why Minato couldn't, his soul was within the Shinigami.
"Atleast I can see you."
The three sat down and all talked together for the first...and well most likely only time they'll get. This opportunity doesn't come every day.
Cave Med Room
"Preparations set. Just need to begin the transfer of the seal matrix."
Jiraya began to steadily apply seals all over Naruto and continuously check on his original seal and condition.
"How long will it take?" Wold said from Naruto's right.
Jiraya finished a seal and placed his hand over the original seal holding the Kyubi. "Not long." Channeling chakra into the seal, every seal he just wrote began to glow and swirl towards the main seal. Once the first seals made contact, it glowed as well until every seal swirled into it. Once they all merged, the swirl that was in the center of the 8 Trigrams seal was spinning before it stopped and the seal became black before fading away. "It's done...the seal is unlocked."
Wolf nodded and looked to Naruto. "He was still conscious Wolf...he'll want answers."
"I know. That's why only you and I will be in here."
"Right...have the guy he is still not on good terms with present since that will totally help."
"Look, we all know Sasuki is the only one who could calm him down if need be. But I'm not exactly trying to have her present yet. For better or for worse you are the other most powerful one here..."
Jiraya nodded "Think it'll come to that?"
"Not sure."
They stood there waiting for 10 minutes. There was still no movement whatsoever. "Why is this taking so long?"
Wolf looked at his chakra network is it was reactivating slowly. A mixture of red and blue chakra moving around the seal. But hadn't branched outward yet. It was still within his stomach.
"It's there...but it hasn't moved through his body yet."
"Maybe there isn't enough chakra?"
"Kyubi has more than enough...I think it's merging while trying to build. All the chakra is at the seal...yeah, as his chakra is building, it's being diverted straight to the seal and mergence between the two."
"How long until it spreads?"
"Probably until he's gotten it fully combined? I'm not exactly sure. This is all just a theory...one backed by a lot of evidence but a theory nonetheless. I can always be wrong."
"That's not often."
Wolf chuckled and shook his head. "I'm not all knowing."
"Nah, but you thought like a Kage at five so you have to have gotten smarter as you've gotten older."
"Despite that, it doesn't ever seem to work out."
Jiraya chuckled. "Sometimes that's the curse of intellect. You can think and solve anything, and yet there is still something that you can never succeed in and it makes no sense. Same goes with power..." He gestured to Naruto. "Those with power unmatched tend to always die young."
"Not this time. I won't let that happen again."
"Itachi...we aren't gods."
"No. But there's still plenty that I can do. Notify me when he awakes. Try to keep him here if possible."
"I'll try."
"We know you've got a few jutsu capable of trapping him"
"Itachi...he is a Sharingan user...you of all people should know that my jutsu won't matter."
"I recommend you use Senjutsu then."
"That's dangerous!"
"With Naruto-kun, if you don't go for the kill, you'll never touch him." Itachi turned away and left the room.
"Dammed Uchihas..." Jiraya shook his head and sat down beside Naruto.
Waiting Area
Sasuki sat waiting for word on Naruto. After the long efforts of just keeping him alive, they jumped straight into transferring the key to the seal and unlocking it. There was no telling how long it would take but it seemed faster than expected when she noticed the ANBU Commander walking by.
"How is he?"
"Hm? Oh, Naruto should be fine...not sure when he'll awake."
"What? Is something wrong?"
"No, Sasuki. His chakra is just slowly recovering and merging with the Kyubi's. Once that process finishes, we're sure that he'll wake up."
Sasuki smiled and nodded. She was leaving to go to the room when Wolf caught her arm. "What?"
"You can't go in there."
"Why not?"
Wolf thought for a moment and sighed. "This is a matter of Fuinjutsu. I'm sure Naruto's told you how delicate it is." she nodded "So we can't have anyone going in otherwise something could happen."
She frowned and understood before turning away and leaving. All she could do was wait at this point. In the meantime, there still was a war going on. With the Mizukage, and Tsuchikage both going down, as well as the other Jinchuriki aside from the eight tails being killed, the war was wrapping up in a sense. Iwa's forces were going to be led by the Raikage with Kumo.
The Raikage was being stubborn and didn't want to admit defeat. He still felt that victory was in grasp. Especially given the condition that Naruto was in after the fight. He figured the kid would be dead and the strongest piece being gone meant it would be far easier. The issue still remained of the two Kage and the Ichibi Jinchuriki though.
No one had an answer to Gaara's defense, the Hokage was still plenty strong and not some pushover, the Kazekage had a similar ability to Gaara, although with gold dust. The saving grace of that however was that his wasn't automatic...but his awareness allowed it to seem as if it were. But still, that can be bypassed if skilled enough.
One thing he never expected though, was another Sharingan user amongst Konoha's forces. That guy who took out the Tsuchikage with ease in a mere gaze was a major threat. He was glad that this Uchiha didn't seem as strong as Naruto but still, this guy was obviously now the biggest threat.
Itachi looked over to the horizon from the top of a cliff as he contemplated how everything turned out. Things were never supposed to be this way. He and Shisui had so many dreams for the future and yet, they'd never get to see it. Atleast how they wished it to be.
He sighed as he reminisced the past. He often found himself thinking about how things were back then. Before Shisui died, before Naruto awakened the Sharingan. When he had his family as a whole.
Itachi stood up when he felt the presence of someone else. He turned to see Kakashi. Adopting his persona he spoke "Need something, Kakashi?"
"I just wanted to let you know that we still have a job to do. Naruto is out of commission but we-"
"I know. I've located their hideout at the moment."
"Who's going?"
"Me."
"Commander n-"
"I'm not going to keep putting gambles out on everyone. I put too much already as it was. I'll finish it."
"Don't blame yourself for Naruto's condition. We both know he never would have let anyone try assisting him in that battle."
"Maybe there was another way. I'm not risking it."
"Then take me. We'll leave discreetly."
Itachi sighed and only nodded. There was nothing else to say. He could overrule Kakashi yes, but that gained nothing. He knew all too well that Kakashi would manage to follow anyways.
"30 minutes." was all he said to Kakashi. Kakashi bowed and shunshined away to prepare for their departure.
Sneaking away from the Company was rather simple. Everyone was worried about other things rather than the two of them leaving. They traveled for a few hours before coming to a halt. In front of them was a large building of stone and it was surrounded by large walls of stone. This was one of the more fortified strongholds that Iwa had and one that they didn't want to attack. Well, originally, if Naruto was at full power then this would have made the list but given his weakened state, the stronghold was a huge risk.
Coming up to the place only made Kakashi think about how much they all really depended on Naruto for their successes. Everytime that he wasn't around, it seemed that they were going to lose. Then he'd show up at the last minute and save them. Even when weaker, he proved to be the most powerful shinobi during the war.
"What's the plan?"
"We do this the old fashioned way."
Kakashi nodded and understood. During the whole war, straight up assaults led by Naruto had been successful. Thing was, it was successful due to his widescale attacks and devastating use of fire and lightning. While Kakashi and Wolf were nowhere near pushovers, they didn't have the same Jutsus to just waltz in. Stealth would be necessary for once with them.
They both faded into the darkness of the night and began to make their approach. There were two guards at the front gate which were taken out by the them both throwing a kunai into their heads at the same time, killing the two guards before they knew the other died.
Kakashi and Wolf scaled the wall and peered over the edge to see who was up there. Two were at every corner, and two walked back and forth along the wall of each side. All in all, it was 16 on the wall. That was going to be problematic. They couldn't take anyone out without the others being able to be alerted.
"Kakashi, how's your ability in Genjutsu?" Wolf whispered
"It's alright...I mainly use it in the middle of a fight."
"Perfect. I'll put the two patrolling in a Genjutsu and have them distract those guys to our right. You put one of the two over to the left in one and have him distract the other. Meet here and we'll go over."
Kakashi nodded and left to go influence his target. When he left Itachi sighed and closed his eyes. When they opened the three tomoed Sharingan was seen. He looked up to see the two guards coming his way and when they were right above him it was time. All he needed to do was get their attention.
"Psst." he said as they were above.
"Huh? You hear that?" Guard one said.
"Over the edge." Guard two said.
The two both peered over the edge and saw the red eyes before things went dark. Their shoulders slumped a bit and they relaxed. After a couple seconds, they turned away and went to the guards on the corner to the right.
Itachi deactivated the eyes and just then, Kakashi came back. "All set."
"Good, my two will be getting there any second."
Once Wolf gave the signal, they both went over and dropped down to the other side of the wall. They both hurried towards the main building and ran up to the top of it. There were a couple guards up top that they didn't expect and quickly charged. Kakashi took out a kunai and charged in, slitting the throat of his target and looked over to see that Wolf hadn't moved and his target just dropped.
"Interesting..." Kakashi thought as they regrouped on the center of the building.
"Ok, the Raikage is somewhere in here. Most likely top floor, which is why we came here. If not, it would be easier to work down than going up." Kakashi nodded so far. "The issue is the Hachibi Jinchuriki. He won't be too far away from the Raikage."
"I'm sure there will be other high level shinobi that will be present as well. I don't think the Raikage would solely rely on the Jinchuriki. Especially after how Naruto took them out with ease." Kakashi said.
"Yes...but he also knows that Naruto isn't a player right now. But you're right, the Jinchuriki won't be the only one. We need to figure out a way to isolate the Raikage."
"I'll go in and get their attention. You go after and take out the Raikage."
"Kakashi, are you-"
"Just make sure you get him." Kakashi then jumped down into the building.
"Wait." Wolf tried to reach out but it was too late. Kakashi had already entered and made up his mind. "Damn it." Itachi activated his Sharingan and prepared. An explosion was heard and it shook the building. He noticed Kakashi jumping out of the building being pursued by the Hachibi Jinchuriki, a dark skinned man with blonde hair that was almost white in a kumo uniform and a woman with short black hair with an Iwa uniform.
The entire base was alerted and alarms rang through the area. It was clear, Kakashi sure knew how to stir up the hornet's nest. The good thing was that Kakashi had gotten out of the base before they all knew what was going on, but the three still obviously pursued him. Itachi took a deep breath and entered where Kakashi jumped out and came face to face with the Raikage.
