ALright been a bit but I needed a small break but I'm back! Read and review! But seriously, please review, it's what keeps me wanting to write more!
"Hm...so I'm being debriefed by two headmasters, my mission huntsman and deputy headmistress. Didn't know killing one person was such a big deal especially when it's a terrorist." Jaune had his arms crossed over his chest, armor now having a darker hue from the sheer amount of Grimm gore that covered him days ago, feeling all four sets of eyes looking at him intensely.
"Mr. Arc, I'd appreciate you'd take this more seriously. Though we've had cases of students ending another faunus or human beings' life this is a different case." Ozpin's eyes were covered by the glare of his glasses, not changing the slayer's demeanor in the slightest.
"How so?"
"Because of how once more, you killed that White Fang trooper in a horrific way. It was downright savagery!" Glynda shot back at her student. His eyes shifted over to her, head shaking.
"You heard from the report Ms. Goodwitch, what that faunus intended to do to Ruby. I don't take lives at the drop of a hat, I didn't take another life after killing that piece of garbage my team, RWBY, and Doc Oobleck can attest to that." He looked over to the Doctor who nodded in agreeance.
"What Mr. Arc says is true Glynda. Though the manner in ending that faunus's life was...brutal to say the least he did not end another after. He showed restraint." Oobleck spoke softly, corroborating with his student.
"Then Mr. Arc, tell us exactly why you ended that man's life? Aside from the report and the Doctor's testimony tell me the reason you personally did it?" Jaune rolled his eyes blowing out a deep breath of air.
"Despite my brutality against the Grimm and quote on quote savagery against that Fang trooper, I do have a code and it's a very simple one. Anyone that tries to murder or rape deserves death, no exceptions. I only will kill when it's life or death, just to give a scenario if one of my teammates or friend's aura is depleted and a White Fang has them in their crosshairs then I will kill that goon without hesitation and regret. They intended to end my friend's life and I respond with the exact same amount of force. I mean for fucks sake I know for damned sure every single one of you has taken lives in the past! And it's fucking hypocritical that you're coming at me for doing exactly what you've all done at some point in life! On top of that, it baffles me that you aren't training your students that being a huntsman isn't just hunting Grimm, it's hunting rogue huntsmen and criminals too!" Jaune snarled out the end of his tirade, teeth bared at all four of them.
"Just because you have a code doesn't make you judge jury and executioner young man. There are consequences to taking a life no matter the reasoning." Ironwood fired back making the Slayer shift his glare to the Atlas General. Jaune had reached the end of his patience, letting the force os his semblance leak out directed personally at the general. Ironwood found himself on his hands and knees in an instant staring at the floor in utter bafflement at what was happening.
"I don't need some fucking General from another kingdom telling me what to do, I'm not one of your damned robots. Take that as a final warning from me..." The Slayer eased the pressure off the Atlas headmaster, Jame's letting out a gasp feeling as though an immovable weight was finally removed from his body. He stood back up to his feet breathing in and out heavily even twitching his hand toward his sidearm for a moment. Ozpin brought his cane centimeters away from Ironwood's face, obscuring his vision.
"James, I did not bring you here to lecture my student, that is the job of myself and Beacon's staff. I brought you here because you have to apologize and make amends for your colossal mistake at the breach. Am I clear?" Ozpin frowned at Ironwood with an anger-filled glare before turning back to Jaune.
"Now to get back on track. Mr. Arc, you are correct that we should be teaching our younger students about the...darker aspects of being a hunter but that comes in the last two years of their education when they are in their twenties and are much more mature. So in light of these recent events, I have a proposal for you Mr. Arc, you are not going to be punished for your actions but I would like to see if you will show restraint if I send you on a mission by yourself. Would you accept it? This will happen in one week, giving you plenty of time to repair, replenish, and restock your weapons. I even asked the good General to bring you an apology gift for his actions at the breach." He pointed his cane to a massive case that rested on the floor next to the wall. Jaune's eye twitched zeroing in on Ironwood again.
"You...you're the fucking moron that shot a fucking battleship round at me!?" The General bit the inside of his cheek nodding slowly. Jaune started to chuckle shaking his head and even let our a boisterous laugh, unnerving everyone in the room. The next thing Ironwood knew, his back had erupted in pain, and found himself embedded in the concrete wall of Ozpin's office head spinning from the impact barely seeing Jaune walk past him carrying the massive case he'd brought. The Slayer turned to Ironwood for a moment smiling.
"Thanks for the gift general. Can't wait to see what it is. I'll get ready for that mission Headmaster, adios!" Jaune walked out, the Atlas general still reeling from the impact feeling Glynda pull him out of the wall with her semblance. The deputy headmistress crouched next to her old friend rubbing his back.
"Jame's, he is the last student to anger. I do not like how brutal and downright barbaric his fighting is, but he is the one I was talking about that slew the Grimm Tyrant at Forever Fall. Also considering that he was trapped for hours underneath Vale with a horde of Grimm and survived, it is best to tread lightly with Mr. Arc." Glynda walked out of the room with Oobleck following. The sound of glass being pecked led to Ozpin opening the window letting the crow in and transforming revealing a hysterically laughing Qrow pointing at the still shell shocked Ironwood.
"Pfftt haha! You...you just got your shit rocked Jimmy! GAHAHA!" Qrow was on the floor now rolling on his back unable to control his laughter much to Jame's dismay.
"Not to rub salt into the wound James, but I notified the Vale council of the friendly fire incident. You will not be handling security of the Vytal festival in the next two months but are welcomed to keep two of your ships nearby as support. The others are to be returned home. Thank you and you may leave." Ozpin turned in his chair sipping at his coffee trying to drown out sound of Qrow's laughter.
(JNPR dorm)
"So I'm not in trouble and was given something by the General as an apology for him blowing me up. Though the headmaster wants to send me on a solo mission to test my restraint next week." Jaune shrugged taking off his armor and hanging them on their respective hooks taking note to wash and clean it later.
"A solo mission? Jaune, I know you're impossibly strong but I don't like letting you go by yourself." Pyrrha bit her lower lip while Jaune gave her a small smile resting a hand on her cheek kissing the top of her head.
"Pyrrha, you know me. You've seen what I can do so there's no need to worry. It'll probably be somewhere close which means there's nothing to be afraid of."
"Yeah P-money! Our boy toy will be fine!" Yang hung around his shoulder rubbing the Arc's chest soothingly. Pyrrha nodded accepting their reasoning but still feeling a bit apprehensive about the entire thing.
"Why don't we see what the General gifted you Jaune?" Pyrrha asked trying to change the subject.
"YEAH! I WANNA SEE IT!" Ruby's voice screamed from outside the door opening it with a toothy grin poking her head inside dashing over to the case running her hand over the smooth metal imagining what weapon could be laid inside. Jaune picked her up by the hood gently resting her out of the way so he could open the container. He unlatched the locks and whistled at seeing what rested in it.
"Now this...this is something special..." Jaune whispered pulling out the chaingun holding it at his hip racking back the slide.
"Rubes, it looks like we'll be making some custom ammo for this puppy right here..." The Slayer held his new weapon close taking note of it's cutting edge design but not liking how plain it looked lacking any color other than steel and white.
"Maybe do some more customizing while we're at it." He mumbled gettinga feel for the weight.
"YES! We can add a small steel shield to protect you from incoming fire, stick a laser sight on the side, add different types of ammunition, wait what does that button do next to your trigger?" She pointed to a switch just underneath his hand. Jaune moved his palm down and squeezed it making the weapon expand and split into three different small tri-barrels.
"Siege mode, activated." A robotic voice sounded from the weapon making Ruby go starry-eyed.
"Whoa! With that many barrels, the pure volume of suppressing fire could tear through any Grimm in seconds! If we make the right munitions, this could stop a Goliath with just a short prolonged burst! Jaune! We're making this ammo now!" She pulled on his arm in a vain attempt trying to move the massive Arc. He lifted her up with said arm holding the weapon close in his other hand and pocketing the manual that came with it heading toward the door.
"Girls with how persistent she is looks like I'm doing this now. Sorry my lovely Dragon, sorry my dear Spartan, love you both!" He waved to them as he and Ruby left leaving the two alone. Pyrrha's smile faded looking down at the floor with the same worried look she had earlier.
"What's on your mind P-money? Looking a little off." Yang rubbed her friend/co-girlfriends back waiting for the champion to respond back.
"I just...I know Jaune is strong. So strong that he was able to defeat one of the deadliest and most powerful Grimm on Remnant, face down and cut through a Grimm horde but I...I still worry about him. What if his confidence goes too far? What if he ends up against an opponent he can't beat with just raw power? I don't want to lose him." Pyrrha trailed off rubbing her arm. Yang nodded in understanding holding her tight.
"I know where you're coming from Pyrrha. I worry too, but if there's anything that Jaune has proven it's that he isn't going to die or give in to any endeavor or task that rears its ugly head. That man is the personification of indomitable and well, he promised that he'd never leave us." Pyrrha shrugged in agreeance reciprocating the hug.
(Jaune and Ruby)
"With the receiver that's in the chaingun, we can make some crazy powerful ammunition. I was thinking of something that would back one heck of a punch!" Jaune looked over at his friend nodding along curious to see what she had in mind.
"Now, what I'm about to suggest may sound a bit crazy, but if it works this baby will tear through Grimm like a saw through wood! Ready?" Ruby's eyes were seemingly sparkling, the slayer waving his hand forward motioning her to keep going. What she produced in front of him was a foot and three-inch-thick slab of what looked to be metal.
"This is tungsten. It's denser than lead and even harder than steel or even titanium! If we make the right casing with just the perfect amount of dust this, will be a literal hose of bullet spewing awesomeness!" Jaune chuckled at her enthusiasm reaching over and holding the metal in his hand.
"Alright, let's do it them."
More of a downtime chapter. Could interpret it as calm before the storm if you will. Next chapter will be the beginning fo the Grimm eclipse Arc!
