Hogsmeade: Part 1

Hermione woke up on a Saturday morning, dead tired. This week was exhausting but pleasantly exhausting. She smiled when she realised that today all of her friends would be going to be going to Hogsmeade with her. This week was a hectic one. As if the homework and classwork wasn't enough to make her tired at the end of the day, add quidditch tryouts to it. She pushed the covers aside and glanced at the small analog clock which was placed on her bedside table beside a few books, a lamp and picture of her and all of her friends in this time which was taken right after the quidditch tryouts. In the picture they were all laughing and cheering. She looked back at the analog clock; it was 8:40 in the morning.

Breakfast finishes at 10 so she had enough time to shower and get ready for the day, which is exactly what she did. After making her bed, she checked to see if Lily was still sleeping. As soon as she looked over to check, Lily woke up slowly.

'Good morning!' Hermione said.

'Morning…' Lily replied, followed by a yawn.

'Somebody's tired this morning,' Hermione smiled.

'Come on, this week was tiring. With James jumping around, being all excited about his friends being on the team,' Lily quietly said while pulling the covers over her.

'Well it is very exciting! Anyways, I was about to wake you up. It's 9:10 and breakfast will be over soon, so let's go to breakfast?' Hermione asked.

'Oh yes, you go on. I will follow. Need to change out of these night clothes and put on some real clothes. Oh also wake the boys up though I suspect Remus would already be up and reading downstairs,' Lily muttered, finally getting out of bed and stretching.

'Mhm, I'll go. See you at breakfast!'

She hurried downstairs, almost slipping on the stairs with a book in hand. She was wearing a simple burgundy t-shirt with a cardigan and jeans, her hair open and brushed. She didn't want to mess with it too much as it would frizz out and look like a mess, again.

As soon as she reached downstairs, she saw that Remus was sitting there, scribbling away on a parchment. As always, he was sitting in front of the fire, and in the red armchair; it was like his signature seat while she preferred to sit on the couch which was on the right of the armchair. Nobody sat on anybody else's seat.

"Morning, Remus!" she said, coming forward and sitting on her designated seat. "What do you have there," she said while pointing to the parchment that currently laid on Remus' lap.

"Hi Hermione. This is my homework, I wanted to get a head-start. Maybe, this time I will beat you to it-" he stopped, noticing the smug smile on Hermione's face. "Nope, I take that back. You finished it last night didn't you?" Herrmione smiled brightly, answering his question. "Trust me, I will beat you to it one day!" he challenged.

"You can hope!"

She heard footsteps coming downstairs and turned around to find Lily leading the rest of the boys downstairs.

"James, I'm only going to Hogsmeade with you and your friends because of Hermione. Don't get any ideas." she said, turning to face James, who was being followed by Sirius and Peter.

"But Lily, please! Look we can try this out, and if you don't like it, you can crush my little heart with your big and angry 'no'. But please, we can at least try this out. I wouldn't force you into anything but, don't you think we are long overdue? I have never felt so sure of anything as I feel of this- of us!" he said.

Hermione was internally screaming in happiness. To watch James Lily, the couple she had heard so much about, actually get together? A lover's dream come true. She wished she could be there to see when they are madly in love with each other in a few years but then realisation struck her- she might not be there for that. But is that a good thing?

"James...that was actually very genuine. Maybe, maybe I will," she replied softly.

He actually reached out to hug her but she stopped his plan by putting out a finger between them and, "I think you're forgetting the 'maybe' in my sentence, mister. Like I said, don't get any ideas." She then turned on her heel and said she was going to breakfast.

"I'll marry that woman. Yep."

After breakfast, everybody went to the front of school to the group going to Hogsmeade.

"Alright everyone! Stand in one line." Filch shouted to the 3rd years over the buzz of chatter. "And, hand your forms in here!" Hermione realised that she was new to this school, therefore she needed to hand one in as well but she didn't have guardians in this time, so she didn't exactly have a form of approval. Luckily, Professor McGonagall came to the rescue.

"Mr Filch," she said, striding in, "Ms Granger's parents have owled me their forms, so you didn't need to collect hers." She silently mouthed a thank-you to the Professor. While McGonagall just smiled in return.

"Alright, let's go!" Sirius quipped.

They all started walking towards Hogsmeade, being elegantly led by Sirius who was going on about how famous Hogsmeade was, trying to explain it to everybody and especially Hermione but in his speech attitude, he didn't even notice that nobody was actually listening to him. Remus and Peter were arguing, or as Remus preferred to call arguing, 'actively debating' about what was better: chocolate frogs or Bertie bott's every flavoured beans? Remus was a strong stander with chocolate frogs and Hermione couldn't help but agree while she was eavesdropping but Peter on the other hand, went on about how surprising each flavour of the Bertie bott's every flavoured beans is and how it is so much better than a chocolate frog because you already know what to expect! Lily was wrapped in the wonderful sights that the path had to offer while James was wrapped up in her.

"I know you're watching me, James. Maybe look at these gorgeous sights!' Lily sighed, turning her head to face him while walking.

"Yeah, I know. The scenery is beautiful," James replied looking over the sidewalk, "but none of them are you," he said facing her as well and Hermione swore she saw Lily duck her head and blush.

"Hermione, hello? Are you listening? Yes, so as I was saying we must go to the Three Broomsticks because it is easily one of the most admirable things about Hogsmeade," Sirius continued and got her attention by waving a hand in front of her. To which she merely laughed and came in front of him and put her hands on his shoulder, "Sirius, I think you forgot that I practically live in the library." He nodded, silently asking for her to continue. "So, of course I came across "Hogwarts: A history" and obviously there was a chapter on Hogsmeade so thank you for your little crash course." She smiled.

He paused for a second and then smiled with adoration in his eyes and said, "Nah, I don't think I can forget anything about you," he replied and it felt as if her heart stopped for a few seconds; so lost in those grey eyes and he seemed as lost in hers. She didn't know how many seconds she stood there or maybe it was hours. Well, who cares? All it mattered in that moment to her was him, and the rest could go to hell.

"Oy, you two! Lost in each other again, are you? At this rate we will reach Hogsmeade in 3 hours!" Peter called from ahead of them and they both looked over to see that the rest of the group had moven ahead of them.

"No mate, at this rate I don't think we'll be reaching Hogsmeade at all!" James said, which earned brilliant laughter from the 4 of them, a mock scoff from Sirius and Hermione felt her face burning red as the both of them walked over and joined the rest of the group to continue walking. Soon Hogsmeade was in sight, and it was like she felt a missing piece from her mind fit in place. At this moment, she had everything

Author's note: Hi guys, this is part 1 of the Hogsmeade trip. From what I have planned, the next chapter will be a continuation of the Hogsmeade trip so this is just a head up for that and I hope you guys like where this has been going so far. Thank you for reading and remember, reviews are always welcome!
