Evaluations?
Eleanor POV
Once back at the castle, Hadrian had me follow him to every house's common room. Starting at Gryffindor, Hadrian called the attention to all the students and requested that they all meet in the Great Hall for an assembly excluding the headmaster. Following him next to Ravenclaw, we did the same. I gathered the girls from every dormitory and Hadrian gathered all the boys and we'd send them to the Great hall.
After the Ravenclaw tower, we went to the kitchens first to get some water before heading a painting over for the Hufflepuff students. The Slytherins had been the first ones sent after because a majority of the students that went to Malfoy Manor last night were Slytherins. After the Hufflepuffs, we had Hadrian's papa, Professor Snape send a Patronus to every teacher to gather the stray students that weren't in their common rooms for the assembly announcement.
"Is Professor Dumbledore here?" Hadrian asks, to which the Headmaster comes forward. "On behalf of all the founders you, Professor Dumbledore, are suspended from the title of Headmaster. I have consulted the Hogwarts Governors this morning and they are teaming up with the Aurors to fully investigate you." Hadrian states seriously. "From now on, Deputy Headmistress McGonagall is now acting head with Professor Aurora Sinistra as Deputy Head. All members of the staff shall be evaluated by me or two of my friends. Those two are Corvus Lestrange of Slytherin and Eleanor Thomas of Ravenclaw. We shall write down these notes with special quills made by the Department of Education that ensure we are not writing lies."
"I assure you that all problems with the staff shall be fixed by yuletide and will be permanent by the following year." Hadrian continues, "With the evidence that I and a few others have collected, the search on whether Headmaster Dumbledore should be sent to Azkaban for sending multiple children into abusive and neglectful households."
"Before the prophet figures out, there are a few things that must be said. I will ensure that letters are sent out to every one of your guardians. I have the house-elves working on those letters now." Hadrian explains "The prophecy about the boy who lived is not a prophecy at all. There is, however, a real prophecy about Albus Dumbledore and Seven Children. The people of the prophecy already know about the contents. Everyone is dismissed, have a good evening, first thing tomorrow all guardians will receive information on what is happening inside of the school and the next day the Daily Prophet will also cover the story. Be warned as we will have three reporters in the school tomorrow and you all should be on your best behaviour, including those pranksters that call themselves the Marauders Heirs." Hadrian says, winking at the twins.
With the end of Hadrian's long-winded speech students and staff started leaving the dining hall, as it is still two more hours until supper. The twins and Corvus stayed behind so we could walk to the room of requirements together and discuss the next steps they should take. They decided that they would fly through the evaluations tomorrow and then over the next month that they would slowly work on a cure for werewolves.
HAdrianPOV
Last night, I told Hedwig to wake Ellie up at 5:45 and give her a note to wear a semi-formal dress. I awoke on my own, showered and dressed to discover that Corvus was yet to be up. I woke Corvus telling him to dress in semi-formal attire that wasn't the school uniform.
When he was finished, we headed to the Ravenclaw Tower, where Ellie was waiting for us. At breakfast, the three reporters appeared. The three being Rita Skeeter, who was being paid extra to not tell lies, Betty Braithwaite, and Michael Carneirus. There was one photographer who would only take action when the three of us were together. We ate breakfast at the Slytherin table. I had devised a plan on how we would evaluate all the teachers in a single day rather than over a week. "El, you take Lupin and Snape before lunch, Trelawney and Vector after lunch, and Filch before or after dinner. Corvus, you have Binns and Flitwick, before lunch, Hagrid, and Hooch after lunch and Pomfrey whenever you can. I'll do the same for the last 5 teachers and staff." I tell them about the schedule. "For reporters, I have Ms Skeeter, Mr Carneirus is following Corvus and Ellie has Ms Braithwaite following her, all six of us will meet in the Room of Requirement for lunch and after Dinner. Let us eat and be on our way to meet the teachers. I have a parchment for each teacher with questions for you to ask them, be polite and answer the reporters' questions."
"Of course Hadrian, Ellie do you have any questions? We went over any scenarios last night, and planned on a few new implements in the school." Corvus explained
"No, I have no questions, I'll take my parchment and head off, I ate while you were explaining," Ellie says, I nod and hand her the parchments. I motion for Ms Braithwaite to follow her. I eat quickly and with the proper manners before handing Corvus his parchments and heading off myself. Rita follows me and I tell her everything she needs to know. The reporters following the other two are just taking notes for Rita to write about.
My first teacher was Mcgonagall, I had asked her questions before the bell had rung. The class was of 7th years, I politely observed the teaching and how well the students were paying attention. I also had pulled some students aside after the class to ask them how they liked her teaching, specifically how attentive the students were. Before heading off to the next class I was observing, I asked the professor about the statistics of students achieving masters in Transfiguration or meeting the requirements to fulfil such achievements since she started teaching at Hogwarts. She told me that it was about a 10% rate of mastery overall, though a 100% success rate to those in N.E.W.T. level
Next class I observed was Herbology, O.W.L level. Professor Sprout had waved hello, and signalled for me to grab a pair of earmuffs and Rita as the rest of the class had. The lesson was how to prepare adult mandrakes for storage. The class had been working with this group of mandrakes since the beginning of the year. At which point, the mandrakes were at their teenage stage. All the students had good things to say about Madam Sprout, and the N.E.W.T. level success was fairly high overall, and again, 100% to those who attended N.E.W.T level classes. The students were extremely attentive and devoted to achieving the proper amount of O.W.L.s to become either an Auror or a Healer. The specific OWL class that was in the classroom was Slytherin and Ravenclaw.
At lunch, I headed to the Room of Requirements, showing Rita the way. There I met up with Corvus and Ellie. They handed me their filled questionnaires and discussed the attentiveness of students. The potions class went uphill, Charms was outstanding, and the Defence Class still quite the hit. As for History, the students were not learning anything about the more recent events for the past 2-3 centuries. The only thing being learnt by the students who listen to Binns were the atrocities of the goblin war of the 1600s. That would all be fixed anyways, instead of having the muggle history in only muggle studies, we had the idea to include the background of what the muggles were doing when we had our wars, and the effect their wars had on us. As expected this morning, the elves had made the seven of us a decent-sized meal. There we sat for our lunch period eating and talking politely about family and interests.
After lunch, I headed straight for the muggle studies class to see how far behind the British wizarding community is. "Good afternoon professor, I have a few questions before class starts. First off could I see the book you are teaching from, to compare muggle fashion today to how far our community is?" I kindly say to the professor.
"Why of course Mr. Riddle, is there anything else I could do for you before the class starts, right now I have a free period. The class does not start until 2 o'clock." Professor Burbage is very kind, I observe.
"Thank you, Professor, I will flip through the book to see how well the wizarding community understands muggles then I shall speak of any concerns I have," I respond.
The book was about a century behind the modern muggle world. For example, in the book, the women and girls would wear petticoats and dresses. The men wore suits and what is considered now formal wear, even for a modern British wizard.
"Professor, the book is a century off in fashion, maybe even two. So if that is the matter for fashion, then that is the same in history and technology. I already plan to implement a course that is mandatory for all years, especially for those taking Muggle Studies. It would be Muggle history and world Geography. These purebloods need some sort of implement if they want to travel or even try their shot at being like muggles. I know that many would-be insulted at what they are wearing and that they think that it is modern and from the right era. Other than that I have no problem with you or your subject. I will wait until the class arrives to judge anymore." I say, letting her prepare for class. I markdown on the parchment that the course was far too outdated for modernized Britain, and that the course needs to be sped up and aided by someone who lives in the muggle world.
The class went well and was full of very attentive students. After the class, I headed to take care of Madam Pince before heading to the astronomy tower to interview Professor Sinistra. As the class is only held at midnight on Wednesdays, which is today.
