Chapter 11
New friends and New Powers
The boys chased each other through the forest, jumping over and dodging each attempt at catching the other. Derek had finally got Alex dubbing him 'it' in their game of chase. He sprinted in spirals, trying to throw Alex off of his tail. He had his mental shields up making it harder for his twin to predict his movements. It was entertaining, to say the least. Alex always fell for the feigns, getting angrier in the process of capturing his intended target. Finally, Alex got the advantage and pounced catching Derek completely off guard.
Suddenly Alex jerked his head to the right picking up some stray thoughts of someone he didn't really recognize. the voice sounded young, really young around his Mieczyslaw's age. He shifted back signaling for Derek to do the same. He headed in the direction of the voice he sensed. Once he got relatively close, he stopped, trying not to scare the child. No, children. There in the forest stood his Mieczyslaw with another young boy with dark curly brown hair and chocolate eyes. The boy was adorable if not quirky.
"MIECZYSLAW NOAH STILINKSI! WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WOODS SO LATE AT NIGHT?!" Alex screamed startling the younger boys in front of him. Stiles turned tear-filled eyes his way. He burst out into tears running towards him.
"I'm so-so sorry Alex," The young boy cried wrapping his arms around Alex's legs. "We thought that it would be fun, but then we got lost and I'm scared!"
Alex bent down and pulled the kid into his arms patting his back as he cried. He held his hand out to the other child and ushered him towards Derek, who picked him up and hefted him onto his shoulders.
"Mieczyslaw, do you want to introduce us?" Alex asked as he made his way back towards his home.
"This is Scotty," Stiles mumbled burring his head in Alex's shoulder. "Scotty this is my Alex and the one holding you is his twin brother Derek."
"Does your mom and dad know where you are?"
"Momma hasn't been feeling good and daddy was at work. We got bored."
"That doesn't mean you go wandering around the woods! You don't even live close to us how did you make it all the way out here?"
"I think I got my powers early," Stiles whispered into his ear.
He whipped his head around staring into the hazelnut eyes. That wasn't possible. Mieczyslaw was supposed to be human. Mrs. Claudia said so herself. He shouldn't be manifesting anything besides snot and tears. What the heck?
"We'll discuss this with both of our mothers here soon. Your mom is probably freaking out, meaning she probably called Scotty's mom and now both of them are having a fit."
Stiles didn't say another word for the rest of the journey to the Hale house. Alex set both of the boys down in front of the television, flipping on some cartoons and stationed Jimmie and Jacob as guard dogs. He made he was to his mother's office with Derek following him. This wasn't going to be any kind of fun.
"Mom," Alex said knocking on the door, "We've got a couple of visitors."
"It's Stiles isn't it," His mother sighed opening the door and ushering the two in. Alex nodded as he and his brother sat in the two chairs situated in front of her desk. They both looked at each other before Derek nodded for him to start.
"We were playing tag, on the property, when I heard Mieczyslaw's little friend's thoughts. He was freaking out, so I shifted back and had Derek follow me. When I got to him, I saw Mieczyslaw and got a little upset. They said they got lost, then scared, then they started crying, so we brought them here. I figured that Mrs. Claudia and Mr. Noah would have the force out looking for them soon."
Talia exhaled through her nose, letting her irritation out as she picked up the phone sitting on the left side of the desk. She dialed several numbers and waited for the person on the other line to pick up.
"Claudia, it seems that my sons have found your offspring."
As she continued with the conversation Alex's thought back to what Mieczyslaw had told him. Everyone thought that the boy was human, but here he was apparently manifesting powers out of nowhere. He wished that he could have foreseen that. He had to tell his mom and Mrs. Claudia about it. He wished that he could talk it over with Derek before he mentions it to the two though.
'Dude,' Derek thought towards him. 'What the do you mean Stiles isn't human?'
His eyes widened. There was no way that that happened. Did he just-
'I can hear you!' Derek practically screamed in his mind. They jerked their heads towards each other both faces hold shock and joy.
'Oh my God,' Alex thought grinning to his brother, 'We can get out of so much trouble with this.'
'And think about all the tests!'
"Boys?" Talia asked watching their expressions shift from shock to pure mischief. "What's going on?"
"Nothing," Both of them said holding the squeals of laughter at bay.
'We do have to tell them about Stiles though,' Derek thought going over what it could mean and how it could affect the possible outcomes of the future.
'Dude, throw up your shields. All that internal monologue is kind of annoying."
"Okay something is definitely going on here," Talia said, glaring at her sons. "However, Claudia should be here to get Stiles and Scott."
"Well, when she gets here we all need to talk."
"What about?"
"It looks like Mieczyslaw is starting to get some powers."
"Excuse me, what?"
"Yeah, and I'm kind of worried about it."
