Chapter Eleven: The Good and the Bad

A more few years had passed and Chomper, Cera, Ducky, Petrie and Spike continued to have fun with each other. Any other flat teeth that lived in the valley were somewhat weary of the sharptooth that lived with them, but the four weren't worried about him after some time getting used to him. They were currently relaxing underneath a large Ban grove tree. Ducky and Petrie laid on their backs on a branch while Spike and Cera laid against their sides on some roots. Chomper was taking it up a notch by laying upside down against the trunk of the tree. They all took in deep breaths before letting them out simultaneously. Cera said with a grin, "This sure is the life."

"You said it." Petrie agreed from his branch. Ducky then added, "You are right. Yep, yep, yep."

"I couldn't agree with you more." Spike said before shuffling to get more comfortable. Chomper then asked, "Is anyone else getting hungry?"

"Well, now that you mention it…" Spike said as his belly started to rumble. Four more growling bellies followed soon after. Cera opened one eye to glance back at Spike and commented, "Nice going, stomach-for-brains, you've ruined the perfect moment to try and fall asleep."

"My bad." Spike said as they all stood up to leave. Petrie and Ducky hopped down from their branches and joined Cera and Spike down at the roots. They all looked up to the purple Sharptooth as they waited for him to join them. In one quick motion, Chomper rolled onto his feet and stood up right again. But when he tried to take a step, Chomper felt a bit woozy from all the blood rushing to his head and had to take a minute. When he finally felt right again, Chomper shook his head and said, "Whoo! Head rush."

"Okay. Enough dawdling." Cera said with annoyed huff. Then with a gesture of her head she said, "Let's go and find us something to eat."

The other four didn't argue with her as they followed her through the forest. An idea then crossed Chomper's mind and a mischievous smile crossed his mind. Moving around Cera and Spike he then shouted, "Race you guys to the berry fields!"

"Hey, no fair!" Petrie shouted and took flight after the Sharptooth as Chomper pulled ahead. Ducky hung on to her adopted brother's back as he started running side by side with Cera. They raced against each other as they ran through the trees before breaking through a tree line and ran through a large field of tall grass. Even though Petrie was flying Chomper continued to pull ahead. Ducky saw that he was going to beat them and shouted up to Petrie, "Petrie, give me a lift!"

Petrie immediately knew what she was talking about and dropped down next to Spike. Grabbing the Big Mouth Swimmer's shoulders, the Flier hoisted her up into the air off the Spiketail. After lifting up to a good enough height, Ducky started to swing before Petrie let her go. The Big Mouth Swimmer fell towards Chomper who was oblivious to being tackled from the air. When she was but a few feet, Ducky smiled as she shouted, "Heads up!"

This caught Chomper's attention and he looked back before gasping. He didn't move out of the way in time and she crashed into him. The two friends skidded through the dirt with Ducky on Chomper's back. Ducky yelled up, "Go, Petrie! Go!"

Petrie quickly flew ahead while Spike and Cera passed the two on the ground. Chomper was able to push Ducky off of him so he could get back in the race. He and Ducky were able to catch up to at least Cera and Spike. Chomper gave a determined look before putting on another burst of speed and ran ahead of the three. Chomper knew that he had to come up with something if he wanted to win. Seeing a rock ahead, Chomper got an idea and darted for it. Quickly climbing the rock, Chomper jumped off it and flew at Petrie. Petrie looked back and squawked when he saw Chomper coming right at him. Gently grabbing Petrie's feet with his teeth, the Sharptooth was able to bring Petrie down to the ground. But when the two touched the ground, Ducky, Cera and Spike all tackled into them and they all went tumbling down a hill. When they came to a stop at the bottom, they all laughed with Chomper on the bottom of the pile. The four older dinosaurs got off their friend and Petrie said, "Look, we make it to berry fields."

"Ooh, Yay!" Ducky said as the four left to get a treat. Chomper then said, "I'll catch up with you guys later."

"Okay." Spike said. Cera then added, "Don't take too long."

Chomper let out a small laugh before heading to a nearby river to go fishing. Ever since he got bigger, the creepy crawlies no longer sustained him enough. So, he had to go on a different diet to keep him under control. Deciding to learn how to catch the Scaly Swimmers he found them to be a better food source than the creepy crawlies or his friends. He soon came upon the river and looked about the waters for any signs of the Scaly Swimmers. When he could see a few swimming about, he waited for the right moment before plunging his head into the water. He pulled it out and had a Scaly Swimmer in his jaws. As he threw it up into the air and opened his mouth, Chomper sent a silent apology to it as it disappeared into his mouth. He swallowed the Scaly Swimmer whole before dunking his head into the river again.

While he was doing that, the purple Sharptooth was unaware that he was being watched from a distance. A brown Longneck with a thin whip like tail watched the Sharptooth from a ridge before turning to take his leave.

While Chomper was having a good time with his friends, things back home were a lot different under the rule of Scar-Eye. Ever since Rex's passing, Chomper's supposed death and Scar-Eye's ascension to the throne, things have really gotten bad for the Great Valley and her residence. Plants had practically withered into nothingness, water was hardly running through the rivers and most of the dinosaurs herds had been run off. Scavenging fliers cawed overhead to try and find remains of a meal. And the ones who were truly suffering were the sharpteeth pack. Fang Rock looked worst out of all the places in the valley, what with its trees withered and the gloomy atmosphere over their heads. The only ones who didn't seem to be troubled by the state of things were the Fast Biters and the 'king', Scar-Eye.

Said king was currently in his chambers, lying on his back on a bed made of stone and was chewing on a bone. He held the bone at the side of his mouth and was growling as he chewed it. When he had had enough with the bone, Scar-Eye flung the bone away with his hand. The bone hit the wall next to him before shattering into little pieces. A voice then said, "You should take better care of your things, your Majesty."

Scar-Eye looked to the entrance of his quarters and saw Pterano flapping in. Scar-Eye then said, "Get on with the morning report, Pterano. Before I lose my patience."

"As you wish, sire." Pterano said with a bow of his head, although he completely hated answering to the new king. As the Flier started to give his report, he glanced up to see that Scar-Eye wasn't even paying any attention to what he had to say. With a shake of his head, Pterano muttered, "Uh, at least Rex tried to listen to what I had to say."

"What?!" Scar-Eye questioned and snapped his head towards the Flier. Pterano realized his mistake as the sharptooth rolled off the stone bed and asked again, "What did you just say?"

"Oh, nothing." Pterano said with a shake of his head. Then he tried to correct it by saying, "I was just muttering about how-"

"You know the law." Scar-Eye growled in irritation. He took a step and it caused a tremor that made Pterano stumble a bit. With a roar, Scar-eye recited, "No one is allowed to mention that name in front of me." Then another roar he added, "For I am the king!"

The roar made Pterano fall onto his back and he looked in fear as Scar-Eye stood over him. The Flier feared the worst when a voice shouted, "Hey, boss!"

"Uh," Scar-Eye growled as he closed his eyes. Then looking to the cave entrance he asked, "What is it with you lot this time?"

Clawdette, Leaper, Scratch, Redclaw, Screech and Thud all walked into the cave. Scar-Eye walked up to them and they bowed in respect. While Clawdette had a scowl and was about to say something, Leaper beat her to it by saying, "We got a bone to pick with you."

"Leaper!' Clawdette hissed as Scar-Eye growled. While Leaper backed off a little, Clawdette assured him while moving in front of the group, "I will handle this."

"Keep out of her way." Screech snarled, making Leaper look to him with a questioning look. Clawdette then told him, "Scar-Eye, there's no food, hardly any water."

"And there is hardly any food being brought in." Redclaw added. Scar-Eye took a deep breath before reminding his fellow Big Biter, "Need I remind you that you and the pack are supposed to do the hunting?"

"Yeah." Leaper said with a shake of his head, "But they won't go hunt."

Scar-Eye growled before turning on his heels. He glared as he tried to think of something. He shrugged as he joked, "Too bad that there's not enough meat on Pterano."

"What?!" The Flier gasped and looked between all the sharpteeth. Then he made himself sound unappetizing by saying, "You wouldn't want me. I'm all stringy and I would taste terrible."

As the two got into an argument about it, Leaper whispered to the group, "And I thought that things were bad under Rex."

They were all shocked when he had said that and Clawdette looked to see if Scar-Eye had heart it. Unfortunately, the black Big Biter had heard it and snapped his head back with a growl and glared as he questioned, "What did you say?!"

"I said…" Leaper started to say before Clawdette roughly elbowed him while she had a big grin on his face. He then realized what he was about to say and then grinned when he changed it, "I-I said Tex?"

"Good." Scar-Eye growled. Then motioning for them all to leave he ordered, "Now get out of my sight!"

Becoming nervous with their king, Pterano and the other sharpteeth quickly made their way out of the cave. When all but Clawdette, Leaper, and Scratch had left, Leaper looked back and said, "Yeah, but, we're still hungry."

"Out!" Scar-Eye roared at them. All three of them ran out of the cave with a screech while Scratch gave a crazed laugh. Scar-Eye huffed in annoyance as he turned away from the cave entrance.

\_|_/

When they reached the outside, Redclaw, Screech and Thud stood in their way. Pterano had flown back to his home to get ready for his other duties to the kingdom. Redclaw scratched his non-scarred side as he said, "This is starting to get bad."

"I know." Clawdette agreed with him. The six all looked worried as she said, "We're starting to run out of food."

"Both us and the leaf eaters." Thud added. They all looked to him as he said, "I can't believe that I said it either."

"We'll think of something." Screech promised them. Then reaching forward, he grabbed Clawdette's hand and started to pull her away. Everyone looked to them with questioning looks as she asked him, "Where are going?"

"Just follow me." Screech said and led her away. Clawdette looked to the others and shrugged before following after the green Fast Biter. They all watched them go before most of them shook their heads. Scratch looked to them with a bewildered glance while his tongue stuck out of his mouth.

Back in Scar-Eye's cave, he started to pace around as he thought about what they had said. Mostly what Clawdette and Redclaw told him since he didn't care for Pterano's report at all. The sounds of footfalls made him growl when he thought it was someone else who would get on his nerves, but when he turned around his gaze softened when he saw who it was. Eda, Roberta and a now fully grown Scales stood at the entrance. Ever since the Fast Biters had come and eaten most of whatever food could be found, their rips were starting to show. Her yellow scales had gotten darker over the years. Scar-Eye then said, "What can I do for you, ladies?"

"We need to talk to you." Eda said, and Scar-Eye immediately knew what it was about. He listened as the former queen then said, "The state of the valley is collapsing into chaos."

"We're being forced to over hunt." Roberta added. She shook her head as she was scared, "If we don't do something soon, then everyone in the pack will die."

"I hear your concerns." Scar-Eye said as he walked around the trio. They didn't believe him as he said, "I really do. But perhaps if I had the one thing that the former king had; things just might start to get better."

"And what's that?" Eda questioned, even though she had a feeling of where this was going. Scar-Eye stopped in front of them and then looked to them before saying, "A queen to rule by my side."

"Uh, news flash." Eda reminded, "You already have a lover. The Big Biter called Zoza."

"Why don't you make her your queen?" Scales asked in her new beautiful adult voice. Scar-Eye looked to the younger Sharptooth and said, "Because, I want to have more than one queen." He looked to Eda and said, "I want to be the first king in the history of the Great Valley to have two."

"That is just sick and wrong and you know it." Eda said with a glare. Scar-Eye scoffed and looked to Scales. Then he said, "Then perhaps my second queen should be someone a little, younger."

Roberta gasped and moved in front of her daughter. Eda then said, "Okay, let me ask you this, your Highness. How is having more than one queen going to get things back to as normal as they'll be?"

"Because it'll represent something that no other king in the past has had before." Scar-Eye said before moving between her and the other two. They looked to him as he said, "The power to get things done."

They didn't seem to like his decision making and he said, "Think about my offer. I give you seven days to think about it." The trio then made to make their way out of the cave, but stopped when Scar-Eye said, "But when the sunrises on the third day, I hope that you have the right answer."

Eda, Scales and Roberta all walked out of the cave without another word. When they had come out of the tunnel, they turned to their left. The three walked along a trail and began a discussion. Eda growled, "Ooh! I can't stand how bad his ego's gotten over the years."

"And now we're suffering for it." Roberta said with a grim thought. Eda shook her head as she knew that her friend was right. Scales then asked, "Since he's given us a window, maybe we could use it to go and find some help."

"And where are we going to find it?" Eda angrily questioned and looked to the younger Sharptooth. Looking at Scales' face and feeling a little regret she said, "Sorry about that, kiddo. I'm just upset with how that went."

"Not to mention that my daughter is about to be forced to become the queen of that monster." Roberta said. Eda then firmly said, "No one is becoming Scar-Eye's queen."

Looking to Scales she said, "I've heard of a place some where far beyond the mountains. You could try going tonight and be back on the seventh day. Your mother and I can cover for you."

"I would ask you to wait." A new voice spoke up. They all looked ahead to see Rai and Ruby walking down the path. Eda, Scales and Roberta all bowed their heads in respect and the former queen asked, "Rai, what are you doing here?"

"Ruby and I were on our way to see how Scar-Eye's mistress was coming along." Rai said as he leaned against his staff. He then looked to Ruby and said, "Ruby, dear, why don't you tell them why they should wait to send for help."

"Because I believe the spirits will send us an answer. The spirits will send and answer I believe." Ruby told them. Though they were slightly confused by her wording, the three Big Biters understood what they were saying. Eda then asked, "How long are we to wait?"

"Just give me a day or two to meditate on it." Rai promised them. Then he said, "Answer will come to either me or Ruby."

"Okay." Eda said. The two shamans bowed their heads in respect before continuing on their way. As they watched them go, Scales looked to Eda and asked, "Do you think that the spirits will give us an answer."

"They never abandoned us, even now." Eda said, trusting Rai's words. Then she said, "Come on, we better get with the others and organize a hunt to see what we can find."

They didn't argue with her and followed her down the path. As they passed by one of the cave's on the path they could hear the sounds of kissing coming from inside. Feeling that it was none of their business the three continued walking.

Inside that cave, Screech and Clawdette were indeed making out. The red female Fast Biter had Screech pinned against rock as they had their muzzles connected. When they released each other, they panted for air. Screech smiled as he said, "You are a pretty Fast Biter."

"You aren't so bad yourself, stud." Clawdette complimented before locking lips with him again. Screech responded by wrapping his arms around her and she had her hands on his shoulders. They continued to make out as the world outside continued to fall apart.

Later that night in the other valley, the day had passed and now a star filled sky was over the land. All was quiet within the valley, that was until a loud belch rang out. Some of the other dinosaurs raised their heads in disgust while a few smaller birds took flight in fear. Over on a hill, Chomper took a deep breath after letting it rip while the others were laughing from it. While he, Cera, Ducky and Petrie were all on their backs, Spike had to lay on his back because of his back plates but he didn't mind as he kept laughing. When he was able to control himself, the Spiketail glanced over and complimented, "Hah! Nice one, Chomper."

"Thanks." Chomper said with a proud smile. He took a deep breath before saying, "Man, I sure am stuffed."

"Me, too." Petrie agreed. Then he added, "I ate like Flier."

The others looked to him with an amused smile and Chomper said, "Petrie, you are a Flier."

"Oh." Petrie realized what he had said. He chuckled as he said, "Right."

The five friends then took a deep breath before letting out a blissful sigh. Chomper lightly scratched his belly while Petrie smacked his beak. Ducky placed her hands behind her head and Spike then asked, "Cera?"

"Hmm?" The Threehorn responded and glanced over to him. Spike then asked, "Have you ever wondered what those sparkling dots in the sky are?"

"You mean the stars?" Cera asked and looked back into the sky. Spike nodded and then asked, "Do you ever think about what they're for?"

"Eh, not really." Cera shrugged. Ducky then said, "I think they are there because they are pretty."

"Me once thought they Light Bugs." Petrie put in. But then he said, "But now knowing, I know better."

"What do you think, Chomper?" Cera asked and looked to the Sharptooth. Chomper tried to think of an answer, "Well…" But then looking in a certain direction he said, "I don't know."

"Oh, come on. You gotta have something." Cera complained and turned to where she could look at him better. The others also got in and said, "We each had an answer. Give it a try. Please."

"I said I don't know." Chomper said and turned on his side, feeling that the subject was bringing painful memories. Ducky got up from her spot and walked over to him. She hugged his snout and then asked, "Does this have something to do with why you had to leave your home?"

Chomper did his best to control himself and not cry, and responded by saying, "I just don't want to talk about it."

"Maybe you would feel better if you talked about it." Spike said as he and the other two looked over to the purple sharptooth. The words made Chomper think. Then he said, "Well…" Then remembering how his father said it Chomper then recited, "Someone once told me that the great Kings of the past are up there, watching over us."

"Really?" Ducky asked in wonder and looked up to the stars in wonder. Cera then asked, "So, you mean to say that we're being watched by bunch of dead kings."

Chomper waited to see what their reaction would be, but all he was met with was silence. Petrie sat up and asked, "Who told you that?"

"Oh, someone special to me." Chomper said as he turned on his back again. The other four looked to him as he started to feel a mixture of sadness, guilt and anger at himself that he hadn't felt in a long time. He looked up the sky with a frown as he thought of his father's words to him. With a sigh, he rolled onto his belly and pushed off the ground. Then looking away he said, "I need to be alone for a bit."

Cera, Ducky, Petrie and Spike watched as Chomper walked off into the forest to be alone. They were all at a loss when he disappeared. Ducky then stood up and walked after their friend. Cera then said, "Didn't you hear him? He said he wanted to be alone."

"I know." Was all that Ducky said but continued after Chomper. The other three looked to each other and immediately knew what she was saying even though she didn't say it. Getting up themselves, Cera, Spike and Petrie followed after their friends as well.

(Cue Anne's Theme piano version)

As Chomper walked along a path to wherever he was going, the plants shook with each step he took. His head hung as he continued to think about how much he missed everyone back home. The purple Sharptooth was so depressed that he didn't even notice his friends sneaking behind him.

Chomper started to think of Scar-Eye's last words to him and he grew frustrated about it. In a fit of anger, Chomper lashed his tail against the trunk of a tree and caused a large crack in it. He stomped past it while the four waited. They all knew it would happen when the tree suddenly fell to the ground. Cera, Spike, Petrie and Ducky all walked around the fallen tree and continued after their friend.

Chomper came to a stop by a cliff and looked up to the stary sky again. Sadness filled his heart again as he looked to see if there was some kind of sign from his father, but couldn't see anything. Tears welled up in Chomper's eyes as he thought of the memories of him, his father and everyone back home.

His tears started to roll down his cheeks as every thought that came to him made him feel even worse. With a saddened sigh, Chomper flopped down on the side of the cliff. Milkweed floss was thrown into the air and blew off into the wind. Chomper didn't even notice it as he continued to lay there. From the trees, Ducky, Petrie, Spike and Cera watched their friend as they heard him start to cry. Ducky was the first to make the move and walked to their friend. Chomper didn't even hear her coming and was taken by surprise when he felt something pressing against his head. Glancing up he saw Ducky once again his head. The sound of flapping made him look to the air and saw Petrie flap down to the other side and hugged the Sharptooth's belly. He grunted when he felt even more weight press up against his side. Spike and Cera were hugging Chomper's back and side as they felt sorry for whatever pain he was going through. And though he was sad, Chomper was glad to have friends like them.

(End of track)

The milkweed floated across the land and over the desert. Soon it came into the Great Valley and drifted over to a large tree. The petals were about to float over and away from the tree when suddenly, a green three fingered hand shot up and grabbed a few of them. The hand pulled the petals down to the face of Rai the Rainbow Face shaman. He took a good sniff of the petals and noticed that they had a particular scent on them. He heard his apprentice's voice call out from below, "What is it you are sniffing, Rai? Rai, what are you sniffing?"

"Hang on." Rai said from his perch. Then jumping into the air he came down and started climbing down the tree. When he came to the ground, Rai rushed past Ruby and ran for his cave. She could tell that he was excited about something and followed him inside. Rai stopped in the middle of the cave and placed the petals in a Shellback shell. Ruby came over and asked, "What is it?"

"Let me see." Rai said before chuckling at his student's questioning. Then sitting on the ground he started to swirl the shell and its contents while starting to hum a small tune. When he finished swirling it around, Rai then looked to Ruby and asked, "Could you-"

"Get you one of your eating fruits. I will get one of your eating fruits." Ruby said before rushing to her master's staff. Grabbing a fruit and snapping it off, Ruby then came back to her mentor and handed it to him. He took it and held the fruit above his head and split it open. Placing one half down on the ground, he took a bite before looking into the Shellback shell again. He noticed something and Ruby came up to take a look at it. She asked, "What could it be, Master? Master, what could it be?"

Taking a closer look, Rai then gasped when he could see the signs so clearly. He looked away from the shell and to the finger painting and uttered, "Chomper?"

"What about Chomper?" Ruby asked, not understanding. Rai stood up and became excited, "He's alive. He's alive!"

The Rainbow Face stood up and ran over to the finger painting and grabbing his staff while laughing. Ruby trusted her mentor's word and could feel hope rising in her heart as he laughed and redefined the painting. He made Chomper's scales a darker color before putting a few finishing touches. When he was done, Rai looked to Ruby and proudly declared, "It is time!"

Both he and Ruby looked to the finger painting with pride. The two shamans then ran out of the cave to tell the good news.

Scales was patrolling around Fang Rock and was in deep thought. She began to fear if Scar-Eye would make her his queen. The yellow Sharptooth knew that she didn't want to be his queen, but if there was no alternative then she would have to for the pack's sake. But her thoughts were interrupted when she heard someone running up to her. Scales looked up to see Rai and Ruby running up to her. Rai was out of breath as he tried to say, "Scales… huff… good… huff… news."

"The spirits have given us an answer." Ruby said. Rai looked to his apprentice and grumbled, "Way to steal my thunder, Ruby."

"Sorry, since I wasn't out of breath so I told it. Since I wasn't out of breath, sorry." Ruby apologized. Rai just shrugged and said, "Anyway," Turning to Scales he told her, "the spirits have given us an answer. They say go to the place across the desert and you will come to another valley."

"You need to find a Longneck to help. A Longneck will help you find help." Ruby added. Rai looked to her and said, "I didn't see that."

"Well, you were mostly looking at one section and I happened to notice something else." Ruby told him. Rai knew that she had been coming along well in her studies despite everything in the Circle of Life being in chaos, and he was proud of her. Looking back to Scales he said, "And you need to find a Longneck."

Looking about the rock formation he then suggested, "And you might want to sneak away soon."

"Okay." Scales nodded. Then she said, "I just need to let my Mom and Eda know."

"That is understandable." Rai nodded. Scales turned and walked away. Rai and Ruby watched her go and when she was out of sight, the former told his apprentice, "When she leaves the valley, I want you to follow after her."

"What? Why?" Ruby asked and came up to her mentor. Rai looked to her and said, "You'll make the journey a lot better than I can. Plus, you'll know what to do when the time comes."

Ruby looked to her mentor and asked, "Do you think I am ready? Ready to you think I am?"

"I do." Rai nodded. The two shamans then walked back down the path so Ruby could prepare for the journey.

It was a little later when Clawdette and Screech finally came out of the cave and took a deep breath. The former looked to the latter and asked, "Same time next week?"

"Sounds good to me." Screech said with a smile. But before he could walk off, she grabbed the sides of his face and locked muzzles with him again before pulling him into the darkness of the cave again.

Later that evening, Scales waited until everyone in the pack had fallen asleep before making her move. She had told her mother and Eda what Rai had told her and they agreed with the plan. Slowly getting up from her spot, Scales started to make her way to the cave entrance. She stopped before the opening and took a sniff to see if there were any Fast Biters about. When she couldn't smell any, she started to make her move. But before she fully left the cave, a voice said from behind, "Good luck, Scales."

Scales looked back to see not only her mother and Eda, but the whole pack watching her go. With a small grin she promised, "I'll be back with some help. I promise."

"We know." Eda said with a smile of her own. She and Scales' mother came up to embrace her. Her mother then said, "We believe in you, dear."

"Thanks." Scales said as they broke the embrace. Without another word, Scales walked down the tunnel and didn't look back. When she came to the entrance into the caves, Scales looked around before quickly darting away from Fang Rock. She ran along the ground and came to where the stone steps that led to the ledge were. She stopped when she picked up a scent and could smell about three Fast Biters heading her way. She hid behind the rock pillar that held up the ledge and hoped that they wouldn't find her.

But luck was not on her side as one of them said, "Hey! I smell something."

"What is it?" She heard another ask. Scales tried to control her breathing as she heard them come closer. A reddish-brown blur rushed past her and started pecking at the Fast Biters. The red scaled sharpteeth cried out in pain, "Ow! Quit it! Stop!"

Scales peeked around the rock and smiled when they all turned and ran after Pterano as he led them away. The majordomo looked to Scales and winked, telling her that she was in the clear. Scales started to run from Fang Rock again and didn't look back once.

As Pterano continued to stay above the Fast Biters before feeling that he distracted them enough. But as he was about to fly away, he yelped when he was grabbed by a set of Big Biter teeth and yanked to the ground. The Flier grunted in pain when he was tossed onto the ground. Redclaw then ordered the three, "Seize him."

The three red Fast Biters ran up and grabbed Pterano's arms and neck to keep him in place. Redclaw then decided, "We will take him to see Scar-Eye in the morning." He gave a dark grin as he said, "But for now, rough him up."

Pterano gasped in fear as the three dragged him away. Ruby watched in fear for the Flier from the shadows, but knew where her duties lie. Taking a deep breath, the Fast Runner quickly ran after Scales.

Scales had been running all night through the Mysterious Beyond when she found the desert and a little during the day. She was really tired when the sun reached the middle of the day. The yellow Sharptooth was about to collapse from exhaustion when she saw a shape coming towards her. Her eyes widened when she saw a brown male Longneck. She thought that he was the Longneck she was supposed to find. Cautiously walking up to him she then asked, "Can you help me?"

"I can." The Longneck said. Gesturing behind him he said, "The help you seek is that way."

"Thank you." Scales said and started to walk in that direction. But when she took her first step she stumbled. The Longneck sighed and offered, "Allow me to carry you on my back."

"Thank you. But I couldn't ask you to." Scales said not to sound ungrateful. But the Longneck shook his head and said, "You can barely walk. Please, allow me. Just don't eat me."

Before she could say anything, the Longneck walked up to her and lowered himself on the ground. Scales nodded to him in appreciation and climbed on. When she laid across his back, the Longneck stood up again and turned to walk back to the valley. As they walked through the desert, the Longneck glanced back and said, "What's your name, by the way?"

"I'm Scales." The yellow Sharptooth said as she closed her eyes to rest. The Longneck smiled as he introduced himself, "The name's Littlefoot."

The two continued on their way to the valley.

Author's Note: This has been the longest version of the chapter. It greatly surpasses the version in Tyrannosaur Queen. And I plan on doing the beginning of the next chapter a little bit different. But it will still be a chapter of romance and fights. And I know that I included a piece of music from Amphibia but I thought that it called for it. And guy who requested for Littlefoot, I hope that I made your day. I look forward to reading your reviews. Be sure to leave a comment either about if I've done something wrong or if you want something specifically to happen. See you next time.
