The rangers are in a situation with Locore taking command. So Zultro has sent them on a quest to find a great power that might be able to help them. They had a rough start and were almost bird food, but they were saved by the guardian of the power: Oberous. Oberous helped the rangers out and has helped them tap into their spirit animals in hopes of guiding them safely to the power. Meanwhile, Nebulos is attacking Angel Grove and it's defenseless without the rangers.
"This is not good." Gamma said as he and Zultro watch it unfold. "Nebulos is destroying Angel Grove and there's nothing we can do."
"I know it's hard, but all we can do is wait for the rangers to come back." Zultro said.
"I need to do something or else I might blow my circuits." Gamma said as he began working on a console.
"Gamma, what are you doing?" Zultro said.
"I'm going to see if there's a way to to get in contact with the rangers." Gamma said.
"That's not possible." Zultro said. "You know as well as I do that the area we sent them to is producing a special energy that will prevent things such as communication."
"Is there really nothing we can do? The rangers aren't able to morph in that area either. What if they really run into danger?" Gamma said. "How are we going to know if they're okay?"
"Have faith in them, Gamma." Zultro said. "The rangers haven't let us down before and I doubt they will now. We just need to have faith in them." In times like this, it's really all they can do.
...
The Rangers
Thanks to Oberous, the rangers were set to get the power and knew where it was. Now they just need to get to it and face whatever they come across. The rangers made their way through a jungle and were keeping their guard up for anything that might show up.
"How far away is that spire?" Abby asked.
"Judging the distance from when we started, I don't think it should be too long until we get there." Valerie said.
"Let's hope so. We need to get that power as fast as possible." Travis said. As they all kept moving, Valerie spotted something ahead.
"Guys, look ahead." Valerie said. She pointed ahead of them and they saw a field of bones and these bones were massive. They looked like bones that belonged to massive animals, dinosaurs even.
"What is this place?" Abby asked.
"Looks like some sort of graveyard." Robby said.
"Fascinating. I don't even recognize some of these creatures." Valerie said as she was actually impressed with the bones. "I wonder what they were like."
"Run an examination later. Let's get out of here." David said as they kept moving. Still, it was unsettling walking through this place.
"I wonder what happened to all of them." Sierra said.
"I rather not know." Joey said. This graveyard gives them the creeps like scene from a movie or such "I think we might have entered Jurassic Park."
"Not funny, Joey." Abby said as she was in no mood for jokes. All of them watched themselves around the bones. Robby stopped when he thought he heard something. He turned to one of the large skulls and tried to look inside. What he didn't notice was that a bony tail was rising behind him.
"Robby, behind you!" Valerie called. Robby turned and saw the tail being swung at him. Robby rolled out of the way as the tail smashed right through the skull.
"What was that?" Robby questioned. He followed the tail and they all saw one of the skeletons still alive.
"What is that thing?!" Joey asked.
"I don't know, but it sure doesn't look friendly." Travis said. The skeletal monster was alive and ferocious as it charged right at the rangers and it's first pick was Abby.
"Abby, get out of there!" David called. Abby backed away, but her back was pressed against a rock. She had nowhere to run as it tried attacking her. David grabbed a bone and smashed it against the monster, but it broke upon contact. The monster swung its head and smashed it against David as he was sent flying and hit the ground.
"David!" Sierra called.
"Come on!" Valerie said as she grabbed Abby and helped get her out of there. The skeletal beast wasn't done with them yet as it charged at the others. Joey jumped out of monster's way and avoided the tail when it swung at him. The beast kept going and it headed for Sierra.
"Get away from me!" Sierra called as she ran for her life. She ran into the remains of a creature's ribcage for cover, but she was actually ended up being trapped. The bone monster tried to force it's way through and tried snapping at her. "Somebody help me!"
"Hang on!" Travis said as he grabbed a branch. He hurried to save her as he smashed and thrusted it against the monster's head. The monster tried ramming his head against Travis, but he grabbed a hold of the creature's skull and climbed on it. The monster tried to shake him off like a bull ride and Travis was holding on for dear life.
"Travis, hold on!" Abby called as all of them were worried what might happen to him.
"Hold on tight, Travis!" David said.
"Anyone got any other piece of advice?!" Travis said as he was trying to do exactly that.
"Look around, check the body! Maybe there's a weak spot somewhere!" Valerie called. Travis looked around and he spotted one bone just underneath the skull that appeared to be lose.
"Talk about picking a bone with you." Travis said. He grabbed a hold of the lose bone and pulled it right out. As soon as the bone was pulled out, the monster's head fell right off. "Not so tough now, are you?" Travis mocked, but it was short as the rest of the body fell apart with him falling to the ground.
"Are you okay?" Sierra asked as they all rushed to him.
"I think so." Travis said as he got back up.
"Well, maybe archeology isn't for you." Robby said.
"Maybe, but my grandpa would have a field day here." Travis said as he tossed the bone away. Joey grabbed his medal and seemed confused about something.
"I don't get it. Oberous said these medals of our spirit animals were suppose to help us." Joey said. "Our spirit animals are suppose to guide us, right? Nothing really happened."
"He's right. These things didn't really help us." Robby said.
"Maybe, but that doesn't mean they're useless." Travis said as he believed in what Oberous has done for them. "Oberous wouldn't have given us these medals unless we needed them. Besides, he said they would guide us, but he didn't say exactly these things would protect us from whatever is out here."
"Can we please talk about this away from the bones?" Abby said with David agreeing with her on that.
"We should get out of here before bonehead is able to pull himself together." David said.
"Good idea." Travis said as they all moved out of there. They may have gotten past that beast, but what else is waiting for them before they can get that power?
...
Angel Grove
Nebulos continued his attack, but he was starting to get bored. There is still no sign of the rangers and everyone of the villains were getting tired of waiting.
"Where are they?" Zabaro said.
"I would have imagined they would have been here by now." Vyla said. "It's not like the rangers not to show up when their precious city is in danger."
"Maybe they're not so great after all." Dragight said. "I say we just go on ahead and destroy what's left of the city."
"No. We will wait until they show." Locore said. "We'll have Nebulos hold off the attack and give the rangers a chance to show themselves." None of them understood why Locore wanted to wait, but he's not really someone you question.
...
The Command Center
"The attacks seem to have stopped, but everyone is in a state of panic. Everyone is afraid when the attacks might start again and it seems we are left defenseless." Zultro and Gamma watched the news and it wasn't looking good in the city. "The city is wondering why we had to endure such a tragedy. We're all left wondering the same thing. Where are the Power Rangers?"
"I wonder why Locore is stopping his attack when the city is left defenseless." Gamma said.
"He's waiting for the rangers to return." Zultro said. "Locore is cruel and malicious. He must want to see their destruction first. He knows that they're considered heroes to this world and he wants this world to see their precious heroes fall. At least this buys us some time."
"Yes, but we don't know for how long." Gamma said. "The rangers better hurry or else Angel Grove is done for." Zultro believe ins his rangers, but he is starting to worry himself.
"Hurry, rangers. Hurry." Zultro said. Moral is running low and everyone is getting impatient of the rangers' return and fearful of another attack. The rangers need to hurry or else Angel Grove is doomed.
...
The Rangers
After their encounter with the bone monster, the rangers kept moving through the jungle. They might not be aware of what's happening in Angel Grove, but there's still a chance for them.
"Man. This jungle feels like it goes on forever." Robby complained.
"I don't think we have that much farther to go." Valerie said.
"We've got to keep moving, guys. We're past the point of no return anyway." Travis said. They kept going until Joey saw something ahead.
"Hey, guys. Check this out." Joey said. All of them moved on ahead to see what Joey saw. They saw they arrived at the base of the spire and saw carvings in some sort of entrance.
"It looks like we made it." Abby said.
"You're right. This has to be it." David said.
"Sweet! Let's get that power and get out of here!" Robby said. He tried going ahead, but Travis grabbed him by the arm and kept him from going anywhere.
"Wait. This is almost too easy." Travis said. Some of them felt the same and knew there had to be something up with this place.
"Travis is right. There must be a trap somewhere around here." Valerie said.
"So what do we do? Go in nice and easy?" Joey asked.
"Stay here. I'll check it out." Travis went on ahead with the others keeping an eye for anything. Travis moved closer to the entrance and spotted four carvings of strange looking creatures inside. That alone looked suspicious. Travis moved carefully as he got close enough and placed his hand on one. Nothing really happened. Travis turned away and wondered what was really going on. What he didn't see was that it the carving was starting to move.
"Travis!" Sierra called and alerted him. Travis spotted the creature in the carving came to life as it tried to attack him with a pair of blades. Travis flipped back and avoided the attacks. Travis jumped back to the others and they saw all four of them coming to life.
"What are those things?!" Abby said.
"Bad news." Travis said. They've fought bird creatures, a dinosaur-like skeleton, and now these things have a bone to pick with the rangers. The power they seek is just beyond this point, but they have to get past these guardians first. They need to get past them.
AN: Sorry. I tried to drag it out to make it longer, but I don't see how I can.
