Chapter 12
The galaxy was now prosproing. Working together to make everything better. The newly elected government officials were fair and just. They listened to the wants of the people. Captain Asher and Amber were leading military groups and doing very well. They were snuffing out terror groups and smugglers. Rey and Ben settled down on Naboo. They helped with military missions every now and then. Rey and Ben had a beautiful home. (Description of home and area) Celine also lived on Naboo. She lived just down the road from them. (Description of house and area) Ben and Rey had talked about getting married, but Ben hadn't popped the question yet. He was planning a way to pop the question that Rey would absolutely love.
A few thoughts and many ideas later, Ben has his plan. Ben would take Rey in their speeder to Theed. Ben would take Rey out on a beautiful night for a walk around the amazing architecture and parks of Theed. He would get on one knee when she was looking at something beautiful and as she turned to face him he would ask. He needed to get a ring first. Rey and Cel were in the backyard of Ben and Rey's house sitting by their pool tanning. They no longer called her Celine. Now her name is Cel. Ben knee now was the best time to go get a ring. Ben headed into Theed to find a jeweler. On the way he thought what kind of ring he would get. He knew Rey wouldn't want a big flashy ring or something really expensive. Just not her type.
Ben arrived at a Jewler called Scarlet Sage Jewlers. The staff was friendly and helpful.
"What can with help you with today sir?" A lady behind the main counter asked as another employee was cleaning display pieces on the other side of the room and came over to see if she could help as well.
"I am looking for a ring," Ben replied.
The woman who's name tag said Scarlet said, "For what occasion?"
"I want to propose," Ben said.
"The other woman Sage said, "Ah yes an engagement ring is what you need."
"Do you know what style?" Scarlet asked.
"Something not too fancy. One that looks nice and will last," Ben said.
"Okay," Scarlet said while nodding, "let's go over there"
They walked to a case that had a ton of beautiful rings. Ben knew it was going to be very hard to choose.
"Anything that catches your eye?" Scarlet asked.
"There's so many. This is going to be hard," Ben replied.
"I totally get that. We deal with that a lot but we will help you," Sage said standing next to Scarlet.
Ben was looking around the glass case trying to find one that would catch his eye. One did catch his eye. One ring had a gold band with a beautiful stone. The stone had six points and was very elegant.
Scarlet saw him looking at it and said, "See one you may like?"
"Yes, the ring with the gold band and six point diamond," Ben said.
Sage reached into the case and retrieved the ring. Sage handed Ben the ring. It was very nice. "Would she like it?" Ben asked himself.
"Let's keep looking," Ben said. He handed the ring back to Sage and she put it back in the case. Then Ben spotted a perfect ring. It was black with a white other crystal as the stone. "That one," Ben said, "with the white Kyber." Scarlet retrieved the ring. Ben knew this would be the one.
"I'll take it," Ben said confidently.
"Perfect choice, sir" Scarlet said.
"Would you like a custom message on the inside of the ring?" Sage asked.
"How long would it take?" Ben asked.
"Not long. 15 minutes I'd say," Sage said.
"Okay. Can it say You're not alone," Ben said.
"Yes. We'll get on that" Sage said, taking the ring to a back room.
"Would you like to look at anything else?" Scarlet asked.
"Well I'd sue says yes we'll be back for wedding rings," Ben explained with a smile.
"Well I wish you the best of luck. What is your name by the way sir? Scarlet asked.
"Ben Solo and yours?" Ben asked.
"Scarlet Clark," Scarlet said with a smile.
They continued with casual conversation waiting for Sage to come back. After a little while, Sage returned with the ring.
"Here it is" Sage said.
The ring was perfect. The phrase was perfectly sketched into the inside of the ring. It was perfect. He payed for the ring and thanked them for all their help. Then he left and headed back home. Ben arrived back home, Rey and Cel were still sitting outside when he got back. It was mid afternoon now. Ben walked out side to sit with them.
"Where'd you go, Ben?" Rey asked.
"Just out for a little drive." Ben replied.
"Okay," Rey said with doubt and a look on her face that suggested she did not believe him. Ben felt her trying to look into his head to see where he had gone.
"Hey, no" Ben said smiling at Rey, "can't do that."
Rey rolled her eyes and gave up trying.
"Hey wait," Ben said.
Rey stopped and looked at Ben confused. Ben got down on one knee. He pulled out the ring box from his bag. Ben looked at it then opened the box, turned to Rey and asked, "Rey, will you marry me?"
Rey's jaw almost hit the floor. Tears started to form in her eyes and butterflies in her stomach.
Rey said "Yes, yes I will."
