Chapter 11: Bugger Forest
In the next morning, Ash and Lillie have gathered Cilan, Max, Professor Oak, Serena, Dawn, Gladion and Bonnie as they are now at the hotel lobby, after bidding farewell to the Normal leaders and May as they go to Plain Plains to search for more Normal Pokemon.
Ash and Lillie also contact Aurora, who has arrived at the hotel as she greets them. Serena asks, "Ms. Ketchum? What are you doing here?"
"Well, Ash and Lillie ask me to accompany you guys on this journey. So I just think that why I can't come along?" Aurora asks.
"And it will be better if Mom is here to stop me from getting too reckless." Ash says as the others laugh. Lillie says, "That is quite true at all, since Ms. Ketchum is also a Champion like us, it will be greater."
Then Professor Oak notices the forest once they arrive at the exit, he asks, "So is the Forest where we are going? Ash?"
"You are right, Professor. From this place, we will be heading towards Resout Town, which is past through Bugger Forest." Ash says.
"A Forest?" Bonnie asks. "Are there new Pokemon inside the forest as well?"
Lillie says, "Way to say the obvious. But the Bugger Forest is also a dangerous place if you aren't careful."
"Which is why you shouldn't go there alone, if you stay by our side, I don't think there is a problem to it." Aurora says as they nod, then they follow Ash, Aurora and Lillie inside the forest.
On the road, they can see a lot of Butterfree and Vivillon flying around, and also Surskit and Dewpider playing in the river, everything seems normal for the group as Serena says, "Wow, I can see a lot of Bug Type resting here in this region..."
"Indeed, I am sure that Bug Type trainers like to come here and play with the Pokemon." Lillie says.
Just then, Ash suddenly raises his hand, preventing the group from moving forward. "Ash? Is everything alright? Why do you stop us?" Dawn asks in confusion.
Ash says, "I am very sorry, but I can't let you move forward. The road has been blocked by invisible webs and if you touch them, you won't be able to get rid of it easily."
"Invisible webs?" Gladion asks. "How are we going to know if there are these kinds of webs?"
Ash says, "Only if something touches it." He picks up a stick from the ground and then throws it at the web, causing it to become visible.
"So that is the web? Who would be making that?" Professor Oak asks.
"The culprit is that Pokemon." Aurora says as she points at the Spinarak crawling on the web. But they don't know that it is a Spinarak as it looks different, so Max quickly scans the Pokemon to find out the truth.
Spinarak Vigoratian Form: Bug and Ghost Type: Spinarak can produce invisible webs to catch their prey. Its webs are often made for glues.
Ariados Vigoratian From: The Long leg Pokemon: Bug and Ghost Type. Evolved from Spinarak at LV 20. Ariados lurks in shadows and creates invisible webs, sometimes it is the cause of the disappearance of Pokemon in alleys.
"A Sevestar Form Spinarak? I never know that this Pokemon will have a form difference..." Max says in shock.
"Indeed. We know how sticky is the webs, so we also made this." Ash says as he shows the glue that is made of the invisible webs. "Mother, do you have anything that needs to be glued?"
"Why of course. You can use these pieces of cloth I have." Aurora takes out two pieces of cloth and Ash just glues them on, much to their surprise is that the glue immediately disappear.
"Wow..." Max says, but Ash stops him from trying to touch it, "Careful, even though it is invisible, you have to wait until it gets dry before you even touch it."
"I see. But how did you guys do it?" Max asks.
"Our company has some people who are able to extract the stickiness from the webs and made them into a glue." Aurora replies.
"But how are you going to produce the webs to make the glue?" Professor Oak asks.
"With this guy." Ash says as he sends out his Ariados, causing everyone to get shivers at the sight of the bonny spider. Looking at everyone's reaction, Ash quickly recalls the Pokemon.
"So that is the glue made by their webs..." Gladion says. "I'll try capturing him since I think I might like this Pokemon."
Gladion sends out Speecar and battle the Spinarak. Speecar uses the Flame Charge to give a lot of damage to the Bug Type Pokemon, and with the Heavy Slam, the Spider Pokemon is low on health and Gladion throws a Pokeball at it, in the end, it is captured.
"That is amazing, Brother." Lillie says. "To be able to catch a Spinarak like that is no small feet."
"Yeah. So can we pass now if the spider is gone?" Serena says.
"Of course." Ash says as they continue to move forward in the forest.
While walking on the road, Bonnie is feeling a little unease as she keeps looking behind her, but she doesn't see anything except trees.
"Alright, I don't know who you are, but stop trying to follow us okay? I can sense you there!" Bonnie yells, and Dedenne also does the same thing.
Everyone turns to Bonnie with confusion and Dawn asks, "Bonnie? What's wrong? Why are you yelling?"
Bonnie says, "I feel like we are being watched..." She sends out Gardebed and says, "Use Razor Leaf over there!"
As the bed Pokemon shoots out a lot of leaves, they can see a lot of spiders with yellow and black stripes coming out from on top of the trees.
"Oh my gosh, just how many of them are there?" Dawn says with a shiver.
"Just what was that?" Cilan asks, Professor Oak uses the Pokedex to scan it.
Spihide: The Agent Pokemon: Bug Type. Spihide hides in secret places so it won't be too frightened.
Spispy: The Agent Pokemon: Bug Type. Evolve from Spihide at LV. 22. Spispy often hides in secret places, so that it can spy on others.
"Spihide and Spispy... so they are spying us..." Bonnie says. "You know, I think I want one." She tells Gardebed to attack one, despite the Grass moves aren't very effective on them, they manage to defeat one with the Body Slam. Bonnie tosses the Pokeball and captures the Pokemon with a success.
"Alright! I caught a Spispy!" Bonnie cheers with Dedenne and Gardebed. "Thank you for your help, Gardebed." Bonnie says as she recalls it back to her Pokeball.
Aurora says, "You did a great job capturing the Pokemon, Bonnie. Spispy are known to spy others."
"Yeah, I can use it to do my shipping list." Bonnie gives a smirk.
"What is that?" Lillie asks with confusion, while Bonnie just gives them an innocent smile and says, "Oh, nothing."
The others don't believe her, but they can't do anything as they continue moving forward.
As they keep on going, the temperature is getting lower and lower, Serena asks, "Why is the forest getting colder and colder? I don't think I can stand with this coldness..."
"Well, I am not worrying about it, since the coldness might be coming from there." Ash says as they turn around, they see a chill of air coming from a tree hole.
"Is that me, or is the tree emitting coldness?" Professor Oak asks. "How is that even possible?"
"Oh, don't worry about it." Aurora says, "If I am correct, that is a Coldant hole, I know for sure that those species really like to cool their holes so that they can have a better place to live.
"Coldant?" Serena asks as she searches the data, then she notices 3 entries from it.
Coldant: The Ant Pokemon: Bug and Ice Type. It lives in the snow, so its body is as cool as ice.
Freezant: The Freezing Pokemon: Bug and Ice Type. Evolved from Coldant at LV21. It can leave ice whenever it goes, and a lot of Pokemon slips over because of it.
Blizzant: The Freezing Pokemon: Bug and Ice Type. Evolved from Freezant near the Ice Rock. When it bites the Pokemon, the Pokemon will immediately freeze.
"Wow, but why aren't they live in the snow?" Dawn asks. "I mean, this place is not that cold if they aren't here to build their nests.
"Yeah, but I guess some of the ants come here and dig their hole." Ash says as they see a Coldant coming out from the hole.
"You know what, I am going to catch it." Serena says as she sends out Duplikitty to battle. Despite Coldant using Icy Wind and Bug Buzz to attack Duplikitty, it holds on and evolves into Duplicat, then using the Transform into Coldant and finishes it with an Ice Ball. Serena also captures it with a Pokeball.
"Alright! I caught a Coldant!" Serena cheers.
"That is a nice capture, Serena." Professor Oak says.
"Indeed." Gladion says, "You really capture a great Pokemon." Serena blushes with a little embarrassment from the compliment.
After getting past the cold area, they continue walking until they notice a small beetle like Pokemon crawling at the tree. Cilan asks, "Hey Ash. What is that Pokemon?"
Ash looks at the bug type Pokemon and he smiles, "Oh, that Pokemon is a Unihorn. And it is special because of the horn, another thing is that it evolves determining the Personality Value."
"Personality Value? What is that?" Bonnie asks in confusion.
"You can say it is much like their ID. number, but for Pokemon. And Pokemon like Wurmple will evolve into Silcoon or Cascoon, which has to be based on the personality value." Aurora says.
"So what can Unihorn evolve into?" Professor Oak asks, and Ash takes out his Pokedex and shows them.
Unihorn. The Horn Pokemon. Bug Type. It likes to use its horn to attack others, when it breaks, it will grows back.
Tristag, the Horn Pokemon. Bug Type. Evolved from Unihorn at LV12 depends on its personal value. It has 3 horns that can grab prey and attack.
Doubeetle, the Horn Pokemon. Bug Type. Evolved from Unihorn at LV12 depends on its personal value. when It has 2 horns that can lift things and climb the trees.
Cilan wants to capture the Pokemon, therefore he sends out Greedent to battle. Greedent uses Hyper Fang to knock it out of the tree, while it gets hit by a Fury Cutter. In the end, Cilan tosses the Pokeball and successfully captures the Pokemon.
"Now I have a new partner, too. That is a good taste." Cilan says.
"Indeed." Ash replies, "But even though I am an Arceus, I can tell you that I don't know what this Unihorn will evolve into."
"Me neither, as it is not something that we have control over." Aurora says.
"Never thought I saw a day when Arceus doesn't even know what Unihorn or Wurmple evolves into." Max says.
Ash rolls his eyes and says, "You have a problem with that?" Then everyone laughs at the statement as the continue to go past the forest.
Here is a new chapter, this is the first part of the five part chapter of Bug Type Pokemon. Not only I will include the ones from the old Ash story, I will also add some new ones which will have more information in the Prince Ash's Journal. I hope you like it.
