Ki Master
Chapter 13
Author Notes: So...I'm here. And I can already see pitchforks ready to impale me. And I just want to say-calm down. Murder doesn't solve anything. *mind flashes back to all the murder and death I've caused in fanfiction.* Yeah...I got nothing, I don't own Blue Exorcist.
3rd P.O.V
Her vision was dim. What happened? Her entire body was numb, she couldn't feel a thing. "-op Yukio!" Faintly she could hear voices, but it was muffled. Was she dying? The sensation was familiar. But it's been quite some time since Ming Xia has been in such a situation.
If this wasn't such a serious scenario she would've laughed at the surprise. And to think it was due to her adopted son's twin brother. "Move aside Rin." The boy had nice aim, with good quality bullets to boot. "Hell no! She was protecting me Yukio!"
Rin...she could hear him, his voice was panicked, full of fear. That tone pushed her more, desperately with what little strength she opened her eyes. It was only a crack, however it was enough for her to see her son, trembling both from the harsh cold and now confirmed fear.
Though she could only see him from the backside, she could clearly see Yukios' hardened expression. "Rin this isn't the time or place to explain things but-that's not a normal wolf. It's a demon, a creature of darkness from a different world." His gaze was full of pain, with a hint of guilt.
Of what she couldn't determine, it was getting harder for her to keep herself awake. A nap was sounding really good right now. "First off-she's not a wolf, she's a huli-jing." That made her smile, he pronounced her type of demon properly. Good boy.
"Second again-she saved me. I know all about demons and I know for an absolute fact that she means no harm. So put the goddamn guns down." For a moment the exorcist wavers, his guns were still aimed for her head, though now he didn't seem so sure.
He shouldn't show hesitation like this. "How can you be sure? Demons are evil Rin! They manipulate and prey on innocent civilians." At that both her and her son snort in sync. It seems Fujimoto hasn't raised Yukio as well as she had hoped.
When she gets up there's going to be some choice words for him! "Just because someone looks like a villain, sounds like a villain and acts like a villain-doesn't make them a villain. Not all demons are bad. She's living proof...and so am I." No. No-he didn't just... "What?"
Ming Xia's eyes widened in horror as the potion wore off her child and he revealed himself. The fangs, tail and horns were visible for all to see. And the flames-oh dear Satan the flames. The worse case scenario she dreaded came to life.
Those silver gleaming pistols were slowly moving towards Rin's direction. For a moment Ming Xia wasn't there, laying in her own blood. No...she was elsewhere. To a time where she lost everything. Where she truly cursed God and the Devil.
There was fire, smoke and screams.
"Ling! Ling where are you!?" Flames were everywhere in her sight, the trees were collapsing onto the ground, blocking her way. Desperately she kept calling for her lover, praying he was alright. He had to be ok. He promised!
Shouts of anger and pain hit her ears and she swerved, racing towards it. "Ling!" Terror filled her veins as she got closer, gun shots were being fired. "No. No please." She begged to whoever would hear her pleas. Ming Xia didn't care about anything other then her family.
Please...Don't take them away! "Any last words Ling?" Her eyes widened as she ran all the faster, she had to make it. Just beyond those bushes. "I'll see you all in hell you bastards of Christ." Her arms reached out. "NO!" Catching his dying form as a bullet embeds into his chest.
Last time she wasn't fast enough. Like hell she was going to watch her loved ones die again. This was not going to happen a second time. "No. Rin-!" With a pained grunt she tried pushing herself up. No matter what she was not going to be on the sidelines.
She didn't care for her injuries, this boy was not dying today-let alone because he was protecting her. "Mom don't push yourself." He didn't care at the fact that his flesh and blood was pointing a deadly weapon on them, he only cared about making sure she didn't damage herself further.
Instead of being smart and training his eyes on Yukio, watching for any sudden trigger fingers, he knelt down, trying to stop the blood from flowing through her pelt. "Shit! Are these holy silver? Dammit Yukio-that's sadistic." Hissing from the pain, Rin dug his claws in for the bullets.
Cursing when he realizes that all he's finding is slivers. "Rin it's ok. You're only hurting yourself trying to get them out." His lips begin to tremble as tears start pricking his eyes. "No it's not! None of this is ok. What do I do?! Mom!"
She couldn't help whining from the pain, the agony was intense, but she's dealt with worse. "Don't count me out you brat. I've survived worse. No crying on me." Immediately he rubs his eyes, sniffling. "Who's crying? It's cold and I got allergies." Stubborn child.
If her body wasn't hurting so bad she'd laugh. "Remind me to start teaching you Ki healing when i'm better." That statement perked him up somewhat, although she wasn't too sure if it was her saying she WILL get better or the fact that she promised to start putting Ki theory to practice after her recovery.
"You got it, but seriously what can I do to get the bullets out? Does Great Grandma Rasha's books have anything?" A small hum rumbled in her throat as she thought about her grandmother. Her mind wandering back to her kit days. "Yeah though I can't recall at the moment which one."
The blood loss was screwing with her memory. She could feel fuzz clouding her mind, irritating her greatly. "Shit!" He stood up and turned heel right for the house, going through the rubble. Leaving the injured demon to stare up at Yukio who had been silent this whole time.
He had been watching her and Rin's interaction without word, frankly she wasn't sure what he was thinking. Though the fact that he didn't finish her off was somewhat of a miracle-she'll take what she can at this point.
"You've grown into quite the young man Yukio Egin. I must say Fujimoto taught you well in the ways of exorcism." The boy before her frame flinched as he looked down, grimacing at her wounds. Hesitation stills his frame for a minute, shown further as he goes about biting his lip. "How do you know me?"
He was showing weakness, something he under almost any other circumstance would not do when dealing with demons, but both her and Rin threw him off balance. Now it was his turn to seek answers. She gives him a wry smile, though she grimaced feeling blood ooze from her mouth.
Ugh she felt so gross. "I met you fifteen years ago. You were just born when I met your mother. But even without that, every demon in this territory knows of the infamous Father Fujimoto and his young protégé. Not to mention...Rin's a chatterbox and has been talking about you nonstop."
A snort escapes him, he was feeling way too comfortable talking with her. However...this was Rin's mother? "What is a huli-jing? Rin mentioned that's what you were, but you look like a big wolf with a bunch of tails." This whole day was so strange.
This wasn't at all how he expected to meet her. Slowly, he knelt down onto his knees, watching in slight fascination as she shifts into her human form. Even when painted in her own blood she looked breathtaking. How Rin could've convinced him that she was his mother he wouldn't know.
"It's the Chinese equivalent to your Japanese kitsune. We're shapeshifters. My family bloodline originated in China and up until fifteen years ago I lived there. I must say-there's hardly any resemblance between the two of you." That statement made Yukio pause.
"What? Resemblance? Between me and my mother?" She blinks, tilting her head in confusion. "No...Your brother. Rin. You're twins. Didn't you know?" Rin raced up to them at that moment. Several tattered books in hand as his eyes furrow in worry. "Yukio?"
From more than just the cold, the teen was stiff, frozen stiff. Everything he knew-was taught was thrown upside down, this final piece of information was too much. His mind was unable to handle the sudden revelation.
Both demons watched as his eyes rolled back...he fell back first into the snow. "Maaaaa! Did you really have to tell him?" Rin groaned as he went to check up on his brother. This was the last thing any of them wanted. Ming Xia looked to the sky, exasperated.
"I thought he knew! At the very least that he was aware he had kin. I figured with how close you two were he was told. Damn Fujimoto!" Well...what was already a complicated scenario just became ten times worse with her big mouth.
This day in general just hasn't been a good one. Her home looked as if the big bad wolf knocked it down, she was in some serious pain from those silver bullets in her flesh, her son was on the verge of an anxiety attack and now her son's brother was unconscious. "Now what?"
Groaning softly she rises to her feet. Stumbling and swaying as she forced herself forward. "Grab him. We're taking a little walk back to the monastery." Though he picks him up he stares at his mother as if she were crazy.
If she wasn't so lightheaded right now she'd probably agree that she was. "You want us to go there?!" Ming Xia wince as her back cracked, feeling aches all over. It would take some time for her wounds to heal, longer then usual with the silver.
"Yes. Currently we need a place to stay, Yukio is going to freeze to death unless he get's proper shelter-and Fujimoto has some explaining to do. For the record you do too! You're catching me up on everything you know!" Rin frowns as she takes shaky steps.
Between her injuries and the cold her body was twitchy. "The same goes for you. I...don't want any secrets between us mom. I know...you told me not to believe him, but Mephesto approached me at work. He said some things about you-about why you've been so sick." She should've known.
"I see. Do you believe him?" They were walking at this point, with him unable to avoid her calm gaze. "I don't want to. But he said if I went to the school, if I could become an exorcist, I could further control my powers and he could save you. Make you healthy again."
Damn this sweet, considerate boy,. She sighed as she ruffled his hair affectionately. It was clear to her what sort of game the king of time was trying to pull and she was not having it. His antics were annoying to deal with two-hundred years ago, they were most definitely now.
Though she never thought Rin would be skeptic, she could understand his concern. The signs were there as well, she had noticed slight changes to his expressions, she...just didn't see deeper into it. To be fair, tengu ambushing her at random times while he was gone most certainly didn't help.
"I promised we would talk. So long as you keep Yukio warm, I'll tell you everything about me as well as my condition. I never meant to make you feel insecure or like I was hiding things." He gave her a smile as he nodded, his ears open.
Even if he didn't understand her reasonings for why she had been sick for so long, the fact that she was being open about herself was more than enough. She refused to hold any secrets from him. He would see for himself if Mephesto was at all truthful with him.
At this point Rin was ready to shove those damn papers right in that damn crooked clown's face. The fact that she was walking alongside him without aid was something he thought he'd never see. A few moments ago she was on the borderline between life and death, before that she was stuck in bed immobile.
But now here she was. Standing proud and tall...ready to take on her ex and Fujimoto's bullshit. And he was going to get front row seats to what felt like World War Three. He could only hope that the war ends with peace instead of casualties...
to be continued
Author Notes: Surprise! I didn't kill Ming Xia and though it didn't seem appropriate I figured we could use a bit of comedy in this story(just like in the manga...who knew lol) I like my dark moments but the last thing we need is for people to go into depression mode.
Especially since the whole Ming Xia spilling the truth was a spur of the moment thing I didn't think about till this chapter was finished and was undergoing the editing process. I figured why not and just go with it.
However, that is all I have for this chapter today my friends. Thank you all for checking out this story. If you want to support this series please feel free to fav/follow/review as it would mean a crap ton! Tchao for now.
