Nothing like having your dinner interrupted by baby chicks hatching 3 days early and screaming like crazy in the incubator, then have Bubba the kitty get into my cherished dinner pizza. Oh well. I guess that gives me time to post a few more chapters…
It would be a thought that remained with him for the rest of the evening, even following him into his dreams.
When Mike entered the Hall of Justice Building the next morning, his journey didn't take him to the fourth floor as usual. Instead, he'd taken a detour to the R&I office, hoping to answer a question that had been burning in the back of his mind all night.
And his hunch had been proven right.
As such, his next trip led him back to the Missing Person's bullpen, where he requested an additional case file from a visibly nervous Flynn Madison, standing by patiently when it took the young detective several minutes to find the right file cabinet to satisfy his request.
At last, with today's investigative work tucked safely under his left arm, Mike headed for the bathroom before continuing his journey upstairs.
Walking down the tile floor to the last stall on the right, the Lieutenant hadn't even closed the door yet, when he heard several nervous footsteps enter the bathroom.
