"You have to promise not to tell anyone else." Swaine urged Spider for like the thousandth time.
"Yes I promise just tell me." Spider sighed heavily.
"The CO has a chest infection. Like a really bad one." Swaine lied to Spider's face.
"Yeah right!" Spider chuckled.
"No he does."
"A chest infection?!" Spider said, still chuckling.
Swaine had told Spider this because he didn't want to tell anyone until Mike did. Spider would have to believe this if Swaine was going to continue on this mission.
"Yeah."
"Alright. Well give him my wishes." Spider said heading back up to the bridge.
Swaine watched after him. As soon as he was gone he took a deep sigh of relief. He turned back to Mike's quarters, hopefully Mike hasn't heard any bit of the conversation Swaine had had with Spider.
"That was a close one." Swaine breathed out.
He then headed back to the sick bay.

The bridge crew was still in silence just waiting for a message to come back from the two ships. Most of them were praying that they were alright especially after what happened with the Starlight.
"I've got something Ma'am." Charge finally spoke.
The bridge still held their breath.
"They did send out a mayday and still need help."
"Did they say why?" Buffer asked, walking over to Charge.
"One of them has an engine failure and the other seems to have the same thing." Charge said reading the message.
"Both have engine failure?" Kate asked.
"Yeah. they just seem to have stopped working." Charge said, puzzled.
Kate and Buffer looked at each other. This was common but in ships like these not so.
"Wouldn't they have noticed that before they left?" Buffer asked Charge.
"They should have done or someone would have noticed before they left the port."
Charge was right, port workers wouldn't just let engines close to engine failure leave, especially with naval vessels like the ones in front of them. Kate let out a little chuckle. She needed to get aboard those boats.
"Get a rig crew ready." Kate said to Charge as she left the bridge.
"Yes Ma'am." Charge nodded.
People from across the bridge went down with Kate to the rigs ready for boarding. They didn't know what they were going to find but were ready for anything at this point.

Mike breathed out a sigh of relief as he realised Spider wasn't going to ask him any more questions. That was a close one! He just hoped Swaine hadn't divulged any further about what had just happened but Swaine wouldn't do that or he would make up another excuse instead.
"Can I come in?" Jim asked from the door.
Mike smiled and waved Jim in with his hand. Jim sat down but kept looking out of the door of Mike's quarters.
"Something bothering you?" Mike smirked.
"Yes you." Jim finally looked Mike in the eye.
Mike was surprised by this answer.
"What have I done?" Mike asked.
"You're keeping a secret from me and the rest of the crew." Jim finally answered his question.
"I don't know what you're talking about." Mike shrugged.
"Yes you do."
Mike knew Jim wasn't going to give up that easily. Jim was a marine and marines didn't give up until everything else had been used. Mike sat forward in his seat.
"There is something." Jim said nodding to himself.
"Yes there is. I don't know how to tell you though." Mike rubbed his hands together.
"That bad?" Jim smiled.
"Yeah….. I have…."
Jim leant in to listen to Mike. it was clear to him Mike didn't want anyone else to hear this if they were passing by.
"I have a brain tumor." Mike finally came out with the thing he had been keeping secret.
Jim was taken aback by this information. He leaned back in his seat stroking his chin chewing it over.
"Wow." Jim just said.
"Is that all?" Mike teased.
"I don't know what to say."
"Then don't. Just take it all in and leave it."
"How are you keeping this from your crew?"
"Trust me, it's the hardest thing I've ever done."
"I don't doubt it."
Jim made a little smile at Mike. Mike smiled back as he knew this meant he supported Mike.
"I'll leave you to it then." Jim said getting up.
"Thanks." Mike nodded.
"Do you need anything? Water or…"
"No I'm fine. Thanks anyway."
Jim nodded and went back into the corridor. As he went out of the door he was met with a lot of crew members rushing by obviously on their way to something important. He stopped one of them.
"What's going on?" He asked them.
"A mayday. There's two ships in trouble." The sailor answered him.
Jim let the sailor go and went to his quarters. Before he could go in his quarters, Kate caught up with him and ran over to him.
"Kate." Jim said in surprise.
"I need you to come with me." Kate urged as she took his hand.
"But I've just come out of the sick bay."
"Swaine won't mind." Kate shrugged.
Jim shrugged as he followed Kate to outside of the main quarters. She filled him in on the mission as they carried on walking. Even though Jim had just gotten out of sick bay, he could come in very handy on a mission like this.
000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
Bomber and Spider were the only ones left on the bridge. Kate had entrusted them to keep the com open as the others went to the ships in danger. Bomber was standing staring out of the window, chewing her nails. Spider was just walking up and down the bridge.
"I wonder how they're getting on." Bomber said, stopping biting her nails.
"They're not even there yet." Spider pointed out.
"Yeah well, when they actually get there then."
"They'll be fine. They know what they're doing." Spider reassured her.
Bomber sighed and tutted at Spider. Of course she had to be stuck on the bridge with Spider. There wasn;t anyone else who could have stayed with her or with Spider!
"You seem to be hiding something." Bomber said, trying to make conversation.
"Maybe I am." Spider smiled.
"Well."
"Well what?"
"What's the secret?"
"I can't tell you."
Bomber rolled her eyes. Spider always knew how to push her buttons and now was no different. What was the point? If Spider wasn't going to tell her then she would just have to find out for herself.
"Fine. It won't be interesting anyway." Bomber said, putting her nose up in the air.
"Oh it is. I can assure you." Spider said smugly.
"If you're not careful I'm going to hit you." Bomber hissed under her breath.
"I'll tell the X." Spider threatened her.
"I'll tell her that you're keeping information from me." Bomber spat back.
Spider made a face at Bomber when she had said this. Bomber turned away with a smug look on her face. She knew she had won when he did this.
"X to Bomber." The radio crackled.
Both Bomber and Spider raced forward to grab the radio before the other. Bomber got there first and barged Spider out of the way so he couldn't do anything else.
"Bomber here." Bomber responded to the radio.
"We've landed on the ships. We'll give you updates soon." The X's voice answered.
"Yes Ma'am. Over and out." Bomber said putting the radio back down ready for any information that came through.
"You didn't have to push me out the way!" Spider moaned.
"The call was for me!" Bomber moaned back.
"Well… I could have taken it." Spider moaned again.
Bomber tutted and just looked back to the ocean. There just wasn't any time to deal with Spider when he was like this. He just carried on pacing obviously trying to annoy Bomber even more. She just hoped that the rig crew would be back soon.
