Danny's POV

When it was the new year and School is sadly open up, I told the boys I wouldn't be going home after school, but I didn't tell them where I was going. I ran down the hall, to enter the gym, looking around. "Now I know why jocks are so…lame." I mumbled to myself as I just watch the kids doing gymnastics. Huh, not bad.

"Hey son." I heard Coach Calhoun greeted me.

I turned to him as he pulled out a cigarettes out of my mouth and I let out a puff of smokes at him.

"Let's start with the first rule. Cut it down to two packs a day, huh?" He said as I took my sunglasses off and took the packs out of my clothes, slightly throwing it down on the table next to us. "There we go. Now, what sort of athletics are you interested in, huh? You like the rings?" He asks.

"Yeah, I installed a set of rings just a couple of weeks ago." I joked.

We both laugh.

"Well, the first thing we have to do is you have to change." He said.

"Well, I know. That's why I'm here, you know, to change." I told him.

"No, I mean your clothes." He said.

"Oh." All I said.

So I acted cool again as usual, pop up my collar before going in the locker room to change. Once I changed, I went out to the basketball court with Coach Calhoun.

"All right, let's knock it off. Fellows," He blew his whistle. "I wanna introduce a new man. Danny. Let's give him a tryout, huh?"

Just then a kid threw the ball at me.

"You better watch it." I warned him.

"All right, come on, come on, come on. A little fire, come on, here we go." Coach Calhoun yells but I tried to get the ball. "Come on, come on. Hey, Danny." I heard him calling out to me, so I walked cooly to him. "You have to dribble." He says.

He bounced the ball, but missed and the kid give him the ball back.

"Here you go, Coach." He says.

"Thank you, son." Coach Calhoun said.

"Now, just dribble the ball, put it in the basket. Think you can do that?" He asked.

"Can I do that!" I said, grabbing the ball and bounced it.

"Okay. Let's go." Coach Calhoun prepped.

I tried to get the ball, but these idiots are making it tough to snatch them!

"Danny, over here. Danny!" One of the kids yelled.

"Let's go." I heard Coach Calhoun said. "Come on, Arnold. Come on, get it up. Get it up there. Hey, that's it. Go, go, go. Get him, Danny. Get him. There we are. Go, go. Get him. That's it. That's it. That's it." I tried to reach the darn ball, so I punch the guy in the gut.

I heard the whistle blow.

"What'd I do?" I asked.

"Is he kidding?" One of the kids asked.

"Boy, oh, boy." One said.

I glared at them.

"I'm out." I said dropping the ball and walked off.

A little while, I got into sweats to try out wrestling, Coach Calhoun took me to meet my wrestling partner. "I want you to meet your wrestling partner. Danny, Andy." I looked up to see him towering over me!

What the actual heck!

"Are you crazy?" I asked, about to walk off.

But Coach Calhoun stopped me.

"Come on, come on, come on." He said. "All right, come on, let's start. Let's get into first position. "Danny, you get down. Okay, Andy, get down. Ready?" As I bent down on my hands and knee, having this gaint wrap his arm around my back. "Okay?"

Just then I was thrown on my back grunting in pain. Seriously!

"Hold it, hold it, hold it." Coach Calhoun said stopping this gaint. "Danny, you gotta try. You gotta try. Try, come on." I got up, clapping my hands trying to be cool. "Come on, let's get down. All right, Andy, let's change positions. You get down. Come on." Yes! "All right. Ready?"

But once again, I was thrown down on my back and grunted in pain.

"Give?" The kid asked.

"Yeah, I give." I painfully said.

"Good." He added.

But I put my hands together and hit him where it hurts the most, and stood up running off and saw Coach Calhoun walking over to me.

"I'm sorry, I can't do this." I admitted.

"You gotta try Danny." He said.

So I just let out a sigh and nodded my head. So I changed into baseball gear and went out to the baseball field and I went to grabbed the bat. "I think you're gonna like baseball." Coach Calhoun said as he led me to the first space. "It's not that much of a contact sport. Now, get in there and let's see what you can do, alright." I tilted my hat down a little and stood a position, ready to swing! "Throw the ball. Come on. Let's play."

"Hey, where would you like it, huh?" The guy behind me asked.

I clenched my jaw at this freak!

"Come on, man. Let's pitch this guy out here." The pitcher said.

"He can't hit. This boy can't even bat." The guy behind remarked again.

I am SO ready to pound on this freak!

"Strike." The striker yelled.

"See? I told you. He doesn't even swing. What kind of ball player are you? Come on. Put it in here, Pitcher." The freak yelled.

"Strike." The striker called out again.

"Come on, a little pepper, a little fire. Come on, a little fire in there. Come on, come on. Let's see you hit it. Put it in, put it in, put it in." Coach Calhoun prepped.

I finally hit the dang ball.

"Foul ball." The striker called out.

I turned to the striker and pulled on his mask and let it hit him in the face, we were about to go at each other.

"Come at me! Come at me!" I warned angrily.

"Easy, easy, easy. Now! Come on! Come on! Put the bat down. Put the bat down!" Coach Calhoun ordered as I dropped the bat down.

He led me away from these morons.

"Now, there's a lot of other sports that don't have any contact at all." Coach Calhoun tells me.

"Oh, yeah, like what?" I asked.

"Like track." He said as I looked at him confused. Running? Hmmm, well at least I don't have to interact with losers.

"What do you mean, running?" I asked.

"What, you mean just like running? I mean something that needs endurance. Something that needs stamina. Like, long-distance running. Cross-country running." He explained.

I thought about it for a second.

"That could be cool." I admitted.

"Good." Coach Calhoun said smiling and patting my back.

I went back to the locker room to changed back into sweat, and Coach Calhoun led me toward the track.

"Run your heart out, Danny." He said.

"Kay." I said, but stop before running off. "Uh, I um…wanna to say…thank you."

He smiled and nodded, before leaving and then I ran around the track, but once I glanced to see Sandy with Tom. I started to get jealous again, so I decided to impress her by jumping through couple of the hurdles, but my foot got caught on one of the hurdle, making me landed on my face, so I quickly got up and glanced to see Sandy running towards me.

"Danny, are you all right?" I heard her asked me. "Danny, talk to me."

I just stay quiet and kept on walking.

"The least you can do is talk to me after the way you treated me." She said.

I was dumbfounded.

"The way I treated...Sandy, I told you I was sorry about that." I finally spoke.

"Now got you talking." She smiled.

I chuckled her.

"You sure you're okay?" She asked me.

"Yes, I'm fine." I told her. "So, still going out with that jockstrap?" I asked.

"Well..." She started.

"Well, is he taking you to the dance?" I asked her.

"Well, that all depends." She said.

"On what?" I asked again.

"On you." She replies.

I smiled.

"On me?" I asked again happily.

"Yeah." She said.

I chuckled.

"He can stag it." I said.

I gave him a teasing wave when he glared at me, and Sandy turns to see what I was doing and put my hand down as we laughed.

"Come on." I said putting my around her as we walked out of the field.

Sandy waited for me as I changed back into my clothes and I put leather jacket on as I walked outside to see Sandy sitting on the bench.

"Ready babe?" I asked, smirking.

She giggled.

"Always has been." She responded.

She stood up as we held hands.

"I love you Danny." She said looking up at me.

"I love you too, Sandy." I said, kissing her cheek gently. "Come on." I said as we walked to my car.
