Chapter 11: The Curse Broken
Jack's POV
Anna held tight to Kristoff as they walked from what was left of the dam. As we walked, the fog started to lift. By the time we got to the edge of the forest, the fog had completely dissipated.
"I'm sorry I left you behind," Anna said to Kristoff. "I was just so desperate to protect her."
"I know, it's okay," Kristoff said. "My love is not fragile." He said as he hugged her.
Anna then looked at me. "Jack... I'm sorry, for everything."
I just hugged her. "Anna, you are my family. No need to apologize."
I heard Mattias say, "Thirty-four years..."
Yelena started speaking. "Five months... "
"and twenty-three days."
Mattias and Yelena walked out together onto the plains outside the forest. Sven excitedly ran out onto the plains. The other reindeer ran out with him. They ran around in a circle.
I stood next to Anna and watched the reindeer. She sighed.
"I know, I miss her too," I said.
When she went to respond, a symbol flashed next to her. It looked like the Symbol of the Spirits.
"Is that...?" Anna asked.
"It couldn't be..." I said.
The symbol disappeared. We chased it to the beach.
We looked into the distance. Something shiny was on the water.
"What is that?"
But then I saw it clearly. It was Elsa, riding the Nokk towards us.
"It's Elsa."
Anna took off towards the shore. I followed behind. We stood on the shore as Elsa rode up to the shore. The Nokk lowered himself so Elsa could dismount, then it disappeared.
"Is it really you?" Anna asked.
"Anna," Elsa said as she opened her arms.
Anna ran over to her and hugged her. Anna started sobbing.
"I thought I lost you."
"Lost me?" Elsa asked. "You saved me. Again." Elsa wiped away a tear.
"I did?"
"And, Anna, Arendelle did not fall."
Anna kept crying. "It didn't?"
"The spirits all agreed. Arendelle deserves to stand with you."
"Me?" Anna asked as she sniffed and snorted.
"You did what was right. For everyone."
"Did you find the fifth spirit?"
Elsa just smiled.
"You are the fifth spirit. You're the bridge."
"Well actually, a bridge has two sides. And Mother had two daughters. We did this together. And we'll continue to do this together."
"Together."
I smiled. Elsa looked at me. She walked over to me.
"Jack... I..."
I just grabbed her and kissed her. Tears fell as I broke the kiss and hugged her.
"Don't you ever do anything like that again." I said.
"I love you, Jack. I would never forgive myself if I left you."
I just hugged her again.
"And I'm sorry I didn't listen." She said.
"I understand why, but please let me do the death-defying stuff from now on?"
She nodded. "Ok, Jack. She said with a giggle."
"Elsa. You're okay!" Kristoff said as he ran up and hugged Elsa. "You look different. Did you cut your hair or something?"
"Or something," Elsa said with a smile.
Just then, Gale whooshed past. Elsa looked at Anna.
"Anna, I need to ask you a question."
"Okay."
"Do you want to build a snowman?"
Just then, snow fell out of the sky and began to surround Elsa.
"Thank goodness, Water has memory," Elsa said as she waved her hand and recreated Olaf. Anna excitedly ran over and put his coals, sticks, and carrot back on.
Olaf giggled. "Anna. Elsa! Jack! Kristoff! and Sven!" He then giggled excitedly. "You all came back." We all hugged the snowman. "Oh, I love happy endings."
Olaf then looked at Elsa.
"I mean, I presume we're done. Or is this "putting us in mortal danger" situation gonna be a regular thing?"
"No, we're done," Elsa replied.
"Actually, there is one more thing," Kristoff said. He then got down on one knee. "Anna, you are the most extraordinary person I've ever known. I love you with all I am. Will you marry me?" He asked as he pulled out the ring.
Anna started crying as he was asking. She fanned at her tears. "YES!" She then hugged him.
Just as they celebrated the engagement, the rock giants walked up to us. They smiled. One bent down to Elsa and Anna as they came closer. They put their hand on its nose.
We then walked back up to the others. Anna walked up to Mattias.
"Arendelle's okay."
Elsa and I walked up to Yelena and Honeymaren. "Ahtohallen is beautiful." Just then Bruni jumped up and Elsa caught him. "Hello."
"You know, You two belong up here," Honeymaren said to Elsa.
Elsa nodded. "I took an oath to always do what's best for Arendelle. Luckily, I know just what that is." She said as she looked at Anna.
…
A few days later
Elsa and I walked hand in hand through the forest. Bruni was resting on Elsa's shoulder.
"The first snow," I said as I spun my staff in the snow, making frost marks.
When we returned to Arendelle, Elsa stepped down as Queen, and Anna was then crowned. Elsa and I then packed up and moved to the Enchanted Forest.
"Do you think she's doing okay?" Elsa asked.
"Sure, I bet Olaf's now wearing a suit to that statue dedication.
She laughed. "I can only imagine."
Just then, Gale came but with a paper airplane. Elsa caught it.
"Thank you." She opened up. "Charades Friday night. Don't be late. And don't worry, Arendelle is doing just fine. Keep looking after the Forest. I love you." Elsa smiled. "I love you too, sis."
She then looked up. "Hey, Gale? We're going for a ride, wanna come?"
Gale shrieked with joy. The Nokk came out of the water and walked up to Elsa.
"You ready?" She put her forehead to the Nokk, and it turned to snow.
Elsa rode the Nokk as I flew with Gale. Bruni followed, catching snowflakes Elsa made until she made a big pile of snow. Bruni jumped into it and melted.
We traveled across the frozen sea to Ahtohallen. Elsa smiled and took a deep breath.
"What?"
"Nothing. I'm just so happy."
I hope you all enjoyed the Forever Frozen take of Frozen II. I had fun resisting my first story arch
