Hey guy! So sorry about how late this is, life just hasn't allowed me any time to write but I will finish this project! I promise!
Harry didn't know where he was.
All around him was cold brick walls and stone floors, as his body moved him along. Side to side his head moved, lingering way too close to the ground than should be physically possible but Harry had no control over his body. Soon, he was brought to a strangle room: from floor to ceiling the room was filled with shelves, with each shelf containing hundreds and hundreds of crystal balls. Harry's body wouldn't let him focus on the room, however, for as soon as he entered the room he started moving towards a particular location.
As he went along, Harry was filled with a strange feeling, one he had never felt before: anticipation mixed with something darker - thirst or lust - but Harry didn't know what. It was consuming, growing stronger and stronger as his body turned around a corner silently, stalking its prey.
Prey?
There at the end of the hall was a man, his features hidden in the dark of the room but Harry couldn't get over the feeling that he knew this man - his prey - even if his emotions wanted nothing more than to eat him. As Harry approached, he felt his body rear up, poised to strike just as the man turned around.
It was Mr. Weasley!
…
"No!" Harry screamed as he bolted up in bed, the sudden movement making him dizzy but this couldn't deter him from the need to rise and find someone - anyone! Dread filled him as he scrambled out of his dorm and tumbled down the stairs, he had to save him! Blindly, Harry ran towards Professor Dumbledore's office, only to nearly knock over someone rounding the corner.
"Goodness! - Harry?" the voice cried in surprise, it was Professor Redfox!
"Professor help!" Harry wheezed, out of breath from his sprint, "please! You- you have to help him!"
"Calm down kid," a deep voice said in reply - it was Mr. Redfox! - "help who?"
"Mr.- Mr. Weasley!" Harry cried, "he's, he's being attacked!"
"What?!" Professor Redfox cried, "where?!"
"I, I don't know! Some room filled with a bunch of crystal balls, maybe the Ministry?" Harry sobbed in confusion, unable to remember anything else.
"Gajeel, go!" Professor Redfox ordered, and the man was gone in a blink - completely vanished! Before Harry could comprehend what had happened, Professor Redfox was dragging him towards the Headmaster's office. "It's alright Harry," she said softly, "we'll save him! Don't worry!"
By the time the pair got to Professor Dumbledore's office; Dumbledore, Professor McGonagall, and Professor Snape were already there - waiting.
"Tell us everything you saw," Professor Dumbledore asked after setting Harry down in a chair.
"What about-" Harry began to ask.
"We already sent help for Mr. Weasley," Dumbledore answered, "Mr. Redfox went with some other teachers through my fireplace to help him. But right now we need to know what you saw and what happened."
Harry told them everything, from being in a body that didn't feel like his own to the moment before the attack.
"Has anything like this ever happened before?" Dumbledore asked, his face stiff with concern.
"Nothing like this," Harry explained, "Sometimes I get things like flashes but I always thought those were nightmares…"
"Even those are not a good sign," Professor McGonagall muttered softly.
"What does that mean?" Harry cried.
"Depending on what gets reported tonight Potter," Professor Snape said with a sneer, "depends on whether you get to go home for Christmas break."
"What!?"
"Now, now. Calm down. There's no need for that," Dumbledore said calmly, though his face said a different story, "Harry, what Snape is trying to say is that if you are having a vision of the Dark Lord's actions, you might be connected."
"Connected?!"
"And if you can see him, what says he can't see you?" Snape asked with a frown, "He Who Must Not Be Named could be watching us through you right now, as we speak!"
Panic filled him as Harry started to feel the room close in on him, his breathing failing to suck in enough oxygen for his body, causing his vision to fade in and out.
"Harry? Harry are you ok?" a soft voice called over his shoulder, dimming in and out like his vision.
"He's having a panic attack!" an older woman's voice called from his left, but Harry couldn't focus on them, before he knew what was going on the world went black.
…
When Harry reentered the world, he found himself in the infirmary. Beadily, Harry blinked at the tall infirmary ceiling above him as he tried to remember how he got there. As his memories started flowing back into his consciousness, thick and slow like honey, Harry was suddenly hit with one jolting memory - Mr. Weasley!
Harry flung up in bed, his vision going spotty as the blood flow righted its self, and tried to hurry out of the bed until a set of hands stopped him.
"Harry! Calm down!" a voice called out, it was Hermoine!
"I can't!" Harry coughed, "I - what about Mr. Weasley?!"
"He's ok!" Hermoine reassured with a calm smile, "Mr. Redfox was able to get to him in time, Mr. Weasley's beat up but he's going to be ok!"
Relief showered over him like rain, hitting him so strongly that Harry sagged against Hermoine, losing his strength for a moment. "I was so scared…" Harry muttered softly, just barely audible for Hermoine to hear.
Hermoine wrapped her arms around him in comfort, "it's ok Harry. Everything is going to be ok!"
Harry nodded and seemed to really relax until another thought struck him, making his mouth dry out like the dessert. "W-what about…?" He croaked, pulling away from Hermoine in fear while closing his eyes tightly.
"That's ok too!" Hermoine said, understanding him instantly. "Professor Redfox was able to cast a special spell that should block the connection at least for now. Professor Dumbledore still thinks you need to work with Snape to permanently break the connection but he said that you could go home for Christmas!"
Harry's eyes flew open in surprise, pleasant surprise this time, "really?"
Hermoine nodded, "yup, with only one condition: Professor Redfox and Mr. Redfox will be joining you for Christmas - so that the spell stays intact."
Harry blinked, "Professor and Mr. Redfox are going to be spending Christmas with me? What about their family?'
"Turns out both Mr. Redfox and Professor Redfox were orphans," Hermoine said sadly, "that's how they bonded in the beginning, I guess. They were actually pretty excited about spending the holiday with you and the Weasleys at 12 Grimmauld Place - something about enjoying a more lively holiday."
Harry didn't know what to think; he liked Professor Redfox - and even though he thought Mr. Redfox was kind of scary - and Mr. Redfox quite a bit, but enough to want to spend Christmas with them?
"Where will they be staying?" Harry asked.
"Sirius invited them to stay with him I guess," Hermoine said with a shrug.
Harry turned and gazed out the window, watching the snowfall past the windowpane, wondering what this holiday would have in store for him
…
Harry watched the train pull out of the station, as students and parents fluttered around him. On his right was Hermoine - who wanted to walk out of the platform with Harry - and his left was Professor Redfox and Mr. Redfox who decided to take the train with him - or rather, Professor Redfox decided to take the train with him, much to Mr. Redfox's horror.
"Gajeel are you feeling better now?" Professor Redfox said in concern as she rubbed her still green husband's back while Lily sat comfortably on her shoulders. Turned out, Mr. Redfox suffered from motion sickness - bad motion sickness.
"Urgh…" Mr. Redfox moaned, "we're taking a chimney back…"
As Harry was watching the pair, out of the corner of his eye, he saw a large black dog. It was Sirius!
"Professor," Harry said, drawing the Redfox family's attention, "follow me."
Harry, Hermoine, and the Redfox family made their way through the crowds, approaching a large dog that was very excited to see Harry. Gajeel eyed the dog with interest, sniffing the air subtly. The dog turned and trodden its way over into an abandoned passenger waiting room where the dog shifted into a man.
"Sirius!" Harry cried with joy as he threw himself at his godfather, Sirius laughed as he hugged the young teen in return.
"Harry! It's so good to see you!" the man said in reply before turning his gaze to the others in the room. "Hermoine, looking lovely as ever, and Professor and Mr. Redfox; it's nice to finally meet you."
Hermoine smiled bashfully at the older man while the Redfox nodded in return.
"Mr. Black, it's nice to meet you too. Thank you so much for offering to house us over the holidays," Professor Redfox said smiling.
"Please, Professor! Just Sirius will do, Mr. Black was my father - and I hope to everything good that I'm nothing like him!" Sirius said laughing.
Professor Redfox smiled in return, "then please, call me Levy and my husband Gajeel - and this here is Lily, our very loyal cat." Professor Redfox said pointing to the cat sitting confidently on Mr. Redfox's shoulders.
"Oh, would your cat mind the smell of dog? I'm afraid that no matter how many bathes I take I'm always stuck with the smell." Sirius asked in concern, though there was a twinkle in his eyes that made Harry laugh.
Mr. Redfox laughed in his unique way. "My cat doesn't mind, he's handled much worse smells from where we're from, trust me! He's a tough little bastard!"
" That's right," Sirius said in absent thought, "Professor Dumbledore told me that you work as a dragon researcher, is that correct? I can imagine the smells might be worse than dog then. Have you met one of the older Weasley boys? Charlie? I believe he's a dragon researcher as well."
Mr. Redfox shrugged, "we work at different facilities."
Before Mr. Redfox could say anything else, Hermoine caught sight of her parents standing in the crowds. "I'll have to go now," she said as she gathered her things, "Happy Christmas everyone!"
"Happy Christmas!"
A little short today but I will keep working on this! I promise!
