…5 Years Later…
I was just coming back from and overseas photoshoot. I hadn't seen my friends in a month, but I hadn't seen my boyfriend in 3. I showered and changed. I dried my hair and let it fall in waves down my back. It almost reached my knees, so cut it until it was hip length. I chose an A-line skirt, thigh high boots, and a deep v neck shirt. I threw on a light jacket before going to the Ministry to visit Hermione.
I knocked on her office door. "Long time no see stranger!", I chuckled as she jumped in surprise. She ran over to me with a squealed. I opened my arms and she hugged me tightly. "Everyone was really worried when you stopped all contact. Seamus and Harry have been worried sick.", she smacked my arm.
"You mean they've been annoying the hell out of everyone day and night. I sent a letter, but it didn't make it. We sort of got lost in the jungle for a week.", I confessed. Hermione hugged me again. "You made us worry.", she cried. I stayed in her office and chatted until it was time for the yearly Remembrance Banquet.
We walked together to the room where the Banquet was being held. I heard familiar squeals as Luna, Ginny, and Madalyn came running towards us. I hugged them and they asked me questions relentlessly. The Banquet started and I ran into old friends and made small talk until I spotted my brother.
He made his way over and hugged me. My return seemed to be the talk of the evening. "Geez, how many people did you annoy trying to find out where I was?", I punched his arm lightly. He stammered and looked flustered. "What happened though? We lost contact with you for a while there.", he muttered.
"Got lost in the jungle and it took us a while to get back to civilization,", I began waving my hands in the air being very dramatic, "but when I returned, I found out my brother and my boyfriend have been irritating everyone with their constant questions."
I put my hands on my hips. Harry looked at someone behind me for help. "Mrs. Finnigan! Look Del is back. Isn't that great. I'm going to go find Ron.", he ran off into the crowd. I turned and gave Mrs. Finnigan a hug. "I'm so happy you're home Delmira. Those two have been going out of their minds with worry.", she smiled.
I smiled mischievously and looked around. "I was just looking for Seamus, but I haven't seen him yet.", she continued, "I've been telling him to get a move on!" I stared and blinked at her. "What?! You two have been dating for 8 years now. I told him if he didn't propose I would start introducing you to other men who would propose.", she chuckled.
I waved my hands and blushed. "That's not necessary.", I protested. She shook her head and threaded her arm through mine. I saw Dean, Harry, Maxwell, and Ron talking to my friends and watching me and Seamus' mum carefully.
She led me through the crowds as we talked to 'important people'. I sipped on a martini as we talked to Professor McGonagall. She gave me a look from over the top of her glasses as I downed my drink. Mrs. Finnigan laughed and handed me a wine glass.
I sipped slowly looking around the room. By the end of the night, I was tired, my feet were killing me, and I was deliriously drunk. I downed several pints of beer in less than a minute before my friends dragged me away from the bar. Rita Skeeter tried to take a picture, but Hermione shot her a look.
"I rem-mm-member when I sla-app-ped you grandma!", I stammered slurring my words. She went red and slunk off into a corner as those around us snickered and laughed. I lost my footing and stumbled. I sat on the floor since it was a safer option.
Harry came over and stared at me with a smile. "Ready to go home?", he asked. I shook my head. "I'll make sure she gets home.", a familiar voice said. I turned around and scanned for the speaker. Seamus bent down so he was at eye level with me. "There you are!", I smiled, "I found my alcohol!"
Our friends turned to hide their laughter. Seamus picked me up off the floor. "Time to go home love.", he whispered, "How much did you drink?". I shook my head, ignored him, and tried to take a step back. "No, I can't go!", I protested, "Mrs. Finnigan said she's going to introduce me to someone." Ginny snickered and Harry shot her a look. "How much did she drink?", he asked our friends. Madalyn looked lost in thought.
"Well, she can down 8 pints of beer in a minute and she's been here for an hour.", Madalyn began. Luna snickered and Hermione smirked. "80 pints of beer, 12 bottles of wine, 4 bottles of Firewhiskey, 9 bottles of vodka, and 15 bottles of tequila. That was all after she started talking to your mum.", Madalyn pointed to Mrs. Finnigan who pretended to be busy.
Seamus began leading me to the exit. "I can't go!", I whined. Seamus wrapped an arm me and led me out of the Banquet. "She said Seamus hasn't proposed and it's been 8 years so she's going to help me find somebody new. She had a few names already ready to go.", I giggled, "There was Blaise Zabini. You remember him from school. Oliver Wood, Charlie Weasley, Ernie MacMillan, Justin Finch-Fletchley, and Zacharias Smith."
We were now on the lift going leaving the Ministry. I tried to go back but he led me to an empty alley. I pouted and feebly hit his chest. "You won't make a move so why can't I go talk to them like your mother wants?", I was crying now. Seamus pressed his lips to mine. "You're mine do you understand that Delmira.", his voice was a low growl.
We apparated to his house and he led me inside to the couch. "Stay put!", he ordered. He went into the kitchen and I laid down on the couch. He came back with a mug of hot tea. I turned and curled up into the couch. "Love you drank too much at the Banquet.", he spoke softly. I sniffled and turned around.
My hands wrapped around the mug and I took a sip. "Your mum will be upset that I left without telling her. I'm supposed to…", Seamus cut me off with another kiss. I took another sip of tea to hide my blush. I put the empty mug on the coffee table and sank back down into the couch. M eyelids felt heavy as the trip, flight, alcohol, and Banquet caught up with me.
Seamus kissed me again and I smiled as I drifted off into unconsciousness. My eyes fluttered open and I was immediately blinded by morning light. I groaned and rolled over wondering why I hadn't closed my curtains before bed. Then the memories of the previous day came back, and I groaned. I sat up and realized I was in Seamus' bed.
I groaned again remembering the scene I'd caused and how much I drank. I stumbled to the bathroom and threw up the contents of yesterday. One shower later I was in one of Seamus' old shirts and my teeth were brushed and I was clean and sober.
I opened his room door quietly. Tip toeing, I made it to the living room. "Where do you think you're going?", his voice came from the couch. I straightened up and turned to him. I held up a bag of my things and pointed at the door.
He shook his head and walked over to me. "You're going to leave without saying anything?", he chuckled, "Or are you already off to some date my mum set up for you?" His words stung and I looked at my bare feet.
"Answer the question love.", he growled quietly. I looked up into his eyes. They were sad and filled with pain. "I'm not going to leave you.", I whispered. His lips connected with mine and I dropped my things as my arms wrapped around him. "I want to be with you and only you for the rest of my life.", I murmured the words against his lips, and he grinned.
"Really?", he asked. I nodded. "More than anything. I don't want to meet someone new. I've been waiting longer than anyone else.", I complained. He hummed and began laughing. I stared at him blankly. He held up my hand and I saw the ring already on my hand. How did I miss that this morning? "You were gong to leave without a word to your fiancé. That's just cruel love.", he teased.
I pouted and sniffled. "When did you ask?", I sniffled. "Last night you begged me as I tucked you into bed. I was going to wait until this morning, but you were very impatient.", he laughed. I started crying and sat on the floor. "You're so mean! You made me think that we were going to break up again. You're an ass! Why didn't you wait for me to become sober before you proposed!", I cried.
He pulled me into his arms, and I buried my face in his neck as I cried like a baby. I sniffled and looked at my ring. The tears began again and tightened my grip slightly. He patted my back and whispered softly until I was calm. "Do you like your ring and proposal that much?", he whispered. "I fucking love it you ass, but I love you more!", I cried.
He laughed and I sat in his lap as he rocked me back and forth. "When did we break up?", he asked suddenly. "You remember. Back in my 5th year.", I mumbled, "I gave the promise ring back." He shook his head and pulled my face from his neck, so I was looking at him.
"We have never and will never break up. We were on a break while I sorted some things out and stopped acting like a jack ass. Do you understand? If I ever let you go, I don't know what I would do. I love you too much Del.", he muttered. He wiped the tears from my face. The weight and truth of his words pranced around my mind.
"I love you too.", I whispered. He smiled and kissed me softly. We sat there on the ground for a few more minutes before we got up. "I've been waiting months to put that ring on your finger, but I couldn't find the right time.", he blushed, "Actually I got it for our fifth anniversary."
I stared at him in shock. "You kept my ring from me for 3 years!", I gasped. Seamus led me to the kitchen and put me on the counter. "You need to eat something love.", he mumbled as he scanned the pantry.
I swung my feet happily. Seamus turned to me while breakfast cooked in the pan. "Were you really going to meet one of the guys my mum set you up with?", he mumbled. I shook my head. "It was just our way of trying to get you to propose.", I giggled. He gave me a look. "And the drinking?", he demanded.
I fidgeted and stared at my hands. He walked over and stood between my legs waiting for an answer. "I couldn't find you at the Banquet and it made me sad so I…", I mumbled my voice getting quieter with each passing word. His lips connected with mine.
"I left you alone too long.", he murmured, and I nodded. He gave me another quick kiss before turning back to the food. We talked and caught up on the 3 months we hadn't seen each other. "I'm guessing as soon as everyone finds out we're engaged they'll pull you into wedding planning and I won't get to see you that much.", he sighed sadly.
I smirked and took a sip of my water. "I'd rather plan the honeymoon!", I announced happily. He choked on his food and blushed. "Oh, you're coming to the opening night of the gallery, right?", I asked him all traces of teasing gone from my voice.
He looked up in surprise. "Everyone is going to be there.", I continued, "So?..." He smiled and nodded. I hopped down from the counter and put my empty plate in the sink where it began washing itself, a little spell I put on the dishes and sink since I knew Seamus would probably forget to wash them.
I stepped out of the shower the night of the gallery opening and toweled off. I would be meeting the others there. I put my lockets on and my rings. I turned my head trying to figure out what to do with my hair.
I decided on curls and set my curlers and brushes to work while I did my make up. I kept it light and natural then sprayed myself with perfume. I slipped into a strapless and backless golden dress that went down to my thighs, hugged my curves, and had a small slit down the side. My hair was done now, and I set the brushes and curlers on a towel to cool down while I finished getting ready.
I examined my small shoe collection before choosing a pair of pumps. I threw a sheer golden shawl around me before being satisfied with my look. I walked into the gallery helping the staff with last minute changes. I thanked them profusely and sent them to get something to eat before the event started.
I watched from a balcony as the guests began coming in. I recognized most everyone and waited for my boss to begin the event so I could go down and socialize. My boss walked forward, and Maxwell and I stood on her sides as she thanked everyone for coming.
She turned to me and Maxwell, "My photographers have captured everything you'll see tonight. We hope you enjoy." She went to the top of the stairs and began to descend with Maxwell following. I waited for a few minutes watching people mingling as they looked at the photos we took in the jungle.
I walked down the staircase and found my friends. Madalyn took a step back and gasped. "You look amazing!", she squealed. Luna grinned and laughed. "I don't think that's the amazing part.", she shrieked holding my hand with the ring on it up for our friends to sit.
Ginny gasped and examined it. "Would you believe me if I told you he had it since our fifth anniversary?", I smiled. Hermione nodded to shocked to speak. Seamus put his arms around me hugging me from behind. "When did you propose?", Ginny asked. "Yeah! Tell them love.", I teased.
Seamus blushed as Harry and Maxwell egged him on. "After the Banquet she was really drunk and kept asking me for her ring, so I just handed it over.", he mumbled. Ron looked surprised and stared uncomprehendingly. "You just handed it over!", Maxwell smirked. Seamus went red.
"Well, I've had it for a couple years. I've been waiting for the right time.", he mumbled. Harry gave him a look. "Wait a minute! I went with you to get that ring. You waited 3 years?!", Harry chuckled. I pouted and turned my attention to my brother.
"You knew?!" I demanded. He nodded and busied himself with his wine glass. "I'm just happy he finally did it!", Maxwell chuckled. Madalyn elbowed him before hiding her own laugh. We stood there laughing before going through the gallery pointing out things and explaining what different photos were.
That night I lay in Seamus' arms. I turned my head to his noticing his eyes were closed. "Yes, love?", he asked before I could open my mouth. "When do we tell your mum?", I asked. His eyes shot open and he sat up. "Now. I guess.", he ran his fingers through his hair.
We got dressed and apparated to his parent's house. He knocked on the door and his father opened it staring at us in shock. He waved us in, and we went and sat on the couch. "To what do we owe this late-night visit?", Mrs. Finnigan sniffed as she walked in. I nudged Seamus.
He cleared his throat and his dad watched us in amusement. "I finally proposed.", he mumbled looking away. His mum watched him carefully not fully believing him. I held out my hand with the ring. She let out a shriek of delight. I giggled at her delight and Seamus' dad clapped him on the back.
…6 Years Later…
It was storming outside, and I heard the sound of footsteps racing towards where Seamus and I were sleeping. Seamus let out a groan as the kids jumped into our bed. I sighed and made room for them. "Did you have a nightmare?", I asked. They nodded and then winced as the thunder boomed outside and lightning flashed across the sky.
I pulled my babies close to me as Seamus pulled the covers over us. I watched the twins slowly calm down. "You're safe here.", Seamus whispered smoothing their hair. A smile tugged at my mouth as I watched him calm them down. "You know your mum gets nightmares all the time.", he whispered.
We lay there waiting until they were calm and back asleep before conversing. Seamus went first writing his message in the air, so we didn't wake the kids. "Another nightmare. We may have to talk to them and see if something happened that they're not telling us.", he scribbled quickly.
"I'm more so worried that they're already blocking me from seeing into their minds. Do you think they woke the babies?", I looked in the direction of the nursery. Right after I had written my message, we heard a quiet cry. "They have senses just like their mother.", Seamus wrote. He chuckled as he climbed out of bed and went to go check on the triplets.
I turned my attention to the twins then the clock. It was almost 6 in the morning. I slid out of bed and into my robe and slippers. I padded lightly down the hall and started breakfast. When the twins woke up, I put them on the counter since they wanted to help me cook.
Seamus came in with very giggly triplets. "Help!", he mouthed. I held my arms out and they climbed into my arms. "Have you been giving your father a hard time?", I asked kissing them. Seamus brought their highchairs over and I put them in.
Seamus handed me a cup of coffee and I set some cereal out for the triplets as the twins started on the fruit salad. We watched from the fridge as the kids watched cartoons and played quietly on the floor of the living room after breakfast.
"When are your aunt and uncle coming to pick them up?", he yawned tiredly. "At noon.", I replied kissing his cheek before putting his arms around me. "They can be a handful at times. I hope they can handle them.", he mumbled with a smile.
"About that…", I began. Seamus turned to look at me. I put his hand on my stomach. "Your pregnant?", he asked with a smile. I nodded. and he kissed me. "I can tell you're really angry.", I scoffed. He laughed and kissed my forehead. "Oh, I'm having mixed feelings. Like maybe after this we should be more careful. We already have 5 little terrors and now we have another on the way.", he looked up towards the sky.
"With our luck we'll have quadruplets.", I giggled. He groaned and I kissed him. "I love you Seamus!", I smiled whole heartedly. He pulled me into a passionate kiss. "I love you too Delmira!", he chuckled. He held me close as we watched the kids until my aunt and uncle came to get them.
