A big part of this series is going to be the shedding of secrets. I hate how no one knew of how amazing Midna was! Her Sacrifices.
Renado sighed, brushing a cold cloth across Priam's forehead. The poor boy's skin was hot, not quite feverish but not at all far off. It was alarming but he knew the reason, it was the cost of such powerful magics. Channeling forces such as that of the Goddesses on such a level left a trace of that power within you, often leaving the host body in a state of overcharge. The magic needed to bleed off or be cast off with spellwork.
"Uh... I hate that feeling." The boy, Priam, groaned twenty minutes later as he slowly awoke. "It's been years since I was overcharged with magic."
"I imagine, you seem quite skilled in that art. Your barrier seems to be holding well, I can feel it from here." He gestured, showing the boy the room he was in. It was the Inn, the top floor that used to be run by one of many lost in the attack by the creatures of Twilight.
"Thank you, I try... how are the kids?"
"They are worried for you, but they seems to drive them even further. Collin and Beth are trying with great speed to master their swords, I foresee that each will be great in their own right." Renado smiled softly. "You said that Light Spirit asked you to be a man of the People, I can see why. You are having a great influence on them all."
That made Priam's dark skin flush, all the way up to his dreadlocks. "I am honored you think so..." The boy suddenly bent over, groaning with wide eyes. Goosebumps were clear on his skin. " I feel a cold, a forboding... my mistress, she is trying to... call me." The boy sat ramrod straight, his hands focusing together to create a dark ball of energy that soon cleared into a women's face... she was cased in a greenish blue light. "No, she's a spirit. Fanadai, what has happened to you?"
The boy's mistress, a plump women with see through skin and warped expression, looked at him with shock. "The dark Curtain has fallen here, I can no longer sense the presence of Light. The boy, the Zora boy, he can sense death and has been visited by the spirit of his mother. The Queen of the Zora has fallen and their people have been frozen. This is what has dried up Lake Hylia, Priam. I know you were wondering. "
"NO!" Renado gasped. "Lake Hylia provides all of us water, if it is dried up then all of Hyrule will dry up." The weight of this great disaster was heavy on his soul.
The women turned her gaze towards him. "Ahh, the Shaman of Kokiri village, it is an honor. Yes, you are right. I foresee a great disaster should this not be solved soon."
''
Priam happily looked at his mistress, knowing full well that she was checking out Renado's handsome face. "I met the Hero, with the Mark of the Beast. He is a boy from Ordon, he is tied to the girl I found. Oh and her name is Illia, by the way."
His Mistress turned and smiled at him, a kind calming smile that uplifted his spirits. "Wonderful, my son, wonderful. I am glad to hear of that... the boy has a great destiny, tied intimately with yours."
"He turns into a wolf without the Light, something in him protects him... I suspect he has a fraction of the Triforce of Old. The power of the Gods themselves ..."
She smiled again, only it was something more wicked. "Look in your book child, the spell book I gave you. It tells of the Triforce...oh and did you cast that barrier? I could sense that from here."
It was his turn to smirk before he summoned his new spell book, opening it and immediately gasping. There before him was an eye, with a teardrop falling from it. All children of Hyrule proper knew of this sign, it was legendary. "This... this is Shekiah magic... Mistress, you are..."
"Yes, one of the last. Only one other remains, my son... I wish for our magic to not be forgotten. I consider you worthy to pass on this magic to... my beautiful son."
He couldn't help but choke under that, the weight of the honor she was bestowing upon him. "And this... this has information on the Triforce?"
"Yes, not a lot but some. My people watched over the Royal family for thousands of years, dating back to the First Zelda. It was said we watched over the Goddess Hylia at one point even, though I am not sure if that legend is true. What I do know is that we have gathered much over time, great magic and knowledge that you can practice and master to become as great a sorcerer as is possible for one without the Gods blessing."
The image before him shuddered.
"Mistress, without Light we cannot keep the connection up for long... be safe."
"And you too, my son... you too. I will pass on your love and your messages as needed."
And with that the spell shattered, no longer able to be maintained in a world of shadows.
Priam sighed. "Damn... I was hoping to ask her more, but I guess we must be satisifed with what we have. I cannot stay long, Renado. When Link leaves, so will I. We need to save the next spirit."
"I understand, we will do what we can to survive without you. I suspect that if he can remove the cursed object you mentioned from the Mountains then we can get the protection of the Gorons once more."
"That is my hope as well... "

"This book is amazing."
Hours had passed and Priam had stayed in bed, allowing the overcharge of magic to naturally and safely fade from his body. He decided to study the book his Mistress had given him, and boy did he learn a lot. Magic the Shekiah used drew on powers from the Mind instead of the soul to create powerful projective forces. However to wield this power one needed a strong mind and body, and meditation was needed. It was also free from Elemental energy, allowing it to be used even in the Twilight Realm, or so was his theory.
Without waiting, he fell into Mediation and started to draw on the power of his mind. Being familiar with magic it wasn't hard to find and tap into this new power. Instantly he felt it surge through him, cold and soft... not as dense or overwhelming as natural or spirit based magic.
Opening his eyes, he saw a thin blue sheen of power around him.
"Now what can I do with it... it is not made to heal... but perhaps... " Pushing forward, he focused on his spell book. The damn thing glowed softly before lifting into the air, slowly and with great strain on his mind. "This is difficult... I wonder if the Shekiah were adapted to this kind of magic...damn, still it is a new force and one I will master in time."
Releasing the power as best he could, he lay back down and turned his focus to his quest.
"What am I to do after this... we must restore the Spirit, that is true, but what else? It was easy here, to train these kids and put up a barrier... but what do we do, do I do when we reach Hyrule Castle or the Spirit. I cannot imagine much... perhaps I could lead the boy, Ralis, to his people once more and heal those injured in the great freeze? That would be something... or I could work with Telma... sigh, there is a great deal I could do but what is the right answer... what do I do to help Hyrule?"
It was this question that would haunt him until finally he returned to sleep once more...
Chapter end, tell me what you think in the reviews.
Short but fun to write. What should I do next, when he joins back at Hyrule Castle... what is the next task?
Love, your Ninja Overlord,
Mika.
