Hey, Everyone! Fair warning; this chapter starts with a rather disturbing scene, including implied rape. So if you're squeamish, you may want to jump ahead a bit.

Chapter 12: Consequences and Aftermaths.

(#4 Privet Dr., Surrey, Halloween Night)

"So where is Duddikins?", Marge Dursley asked her brother. "It's getting rather late."

"He mentioned a costume party with his friends", Petunia replied. "Won't be home until late."

"At least my boy is having a good time", Vernon grumbled. "I still can't believe that the bastards fired me! And on the word of a freak! Almost twenty years of loyal and profitable service disregarded over a bogus arrest and shite charges!"

"And the local Ladies Tea and Social Club", Petunia sniffed. "They've snubbed me now because of that phony pamphlet the freak's little whore gave to Nancy Thomas! A "star student at an 'exclusive' private school", indeed! Making us look like liars! We said what we had to in order to cover up for that freakish boy!"

"*hmmph!* At least you're rid of him now", Marge huffed. "And don't worry, we'll win in court! Most of the local judges got their precious bulldogs from me."

Just then the doorbell rang.

"Who the bloody hell is ringing at this hour?", Vernon griped. "It can't be trick-or-treaters, our porch-light is off and treating ended almost two hours ago. Petunia, go see who it is and get rid of them!"

Petunia opened the door to see her 'Duddikins' in his "Shrek" costume.

"Sorry, Mum", he said sheepishly. "I must've forgot my keys."

"Oh, that's alright, Dudley", she smiled, letting him in and closing the door as she hugged him. "Did you have a good time at the party?"

"Yeah", he grinned…..and pinched her neck. As she slumped bonelessly into his arms, 'Dudley' began to morph. "But it's about to get much better!", Krugurath growled as he licked his chops. He sniffed her deeply, and a lascivious grin split his face.

'This is too perfect', the ogre thought to himself as he gently laid her on the floor. 'too skinny to eat, but she's fertile; by her scent the timing couldn't be better! But first,(he looked toward the living room, where Vernon and Marge were watching the telly) I'm hungry.'

While the two obese humans were distracted, Krugarath rushed them and snapped their necks before they could react! He then retrieved Petunia from the foyer and set her on the sofa and dumped the fat ones on the floor…and began to feast.

Petunia Dursley nee Evans slowly came to, wondering what happened. Then she heard the chilling, disturbing sound of some large carnivore eating nearby. She opened her eyes in morbid curiosity….and screamed.

Her shriek drew the attention of the monstrosity that was apparently feasting on the bloody, shredded remains of her husband and sister-in-law! It was a sickly, yellowish-brown color with burning orange eyes, gnarled horns on its head and all over its back, and huge tusk-like lower fangs drenched in blood! It stood to a height of at least ten feet and was massively muscled!

"I suppose I've sated one hunger", it growled in a gravelly voice as it stepped toward her with a wicked, bloody grin, dropping the half-eaten left breast of Marge to the floor with a bloody, plopping *splat*. Petunia was frozen in terror, "So now it's time to sate another."

Krugarath tore her dress asunder with one massive, clawed hand. Petunia screamed and fainted, the last thing she saw was the thing's member swelling to monstrous proportions as it held her legs wide apart.

Prior to the party, Dudley and his gang spent some time stealing candy from un-accompanied trick-or-treaters. Then they had a blast at the costume party. When Dudley arrived home late that night, Number 4 was quiet, but the lights were on. Strange. Usually his Aunt Marge would've gone home and his parents to bed by this hour. He walked in…..and at the sight of his half-eaten father and aunt promptly puked up all the candy and party food from his overstuffed gut! Once he had nothing left to hurl, he heard a groan toward the kitchen. There he found his naked mother, covered in scratches and bruises, but alive. He covered her with the quilt from the sofa and called the police.

(November 2)

"VERNON!", Petunia awoke with a start. It took her a few moments to realize she was in a hospital bed.

"Take it easy, Mrs. Dursley", a nurse urged calmly. "You're in the Royal Surrey County Hospital. You've been unconscious for almost two days."

"T-t-two days?", she stammered, then, "Duddy!"

"Your son is safe and ok, Mrs. Dursley", another voice assured her, drawing her attention. "He's with Child Services, and has already given the Surrey Police his account of what happened that night. I'm Dr. Jane Westphalen. We've treated you for minor injuries; some scratches, bruises and a concussion. Once you're a bit stronger, the Police need to get your account of events."

"Vernon and Marge?"

"Your husband and sister-in-law both dead I'm afraid", the doctor told her. "They were savagely attacked and apparently…um…eaten by some kind of wild animal. You were lucky to only have minor injuries, and your baby is fine."

"Wait! Baby?! What baby?!"

"You didn't know?", the doctor replied, confused. "You're three months pregnant. Although the staff must have misread their tests yesterday. *hmph* They thought you were only two months along."

Petunia gawped like a fish out of water. Vernon hadn't touched her in years, nor had she taken any lovers, so how…..? No! Soul-chilling horror spread through her as realization dawned. The only reason she was still alive. The monster had raped her! And worse, it had impregnated her! The freakish spawn of the beast that ate her husband was growing in her womb, and at an accelerated rate! Three days = three months?! Petunia rushed to the loo to throw up. The nurse helped her back into bed when she came out.

"We'll let you get some rest, Mrs. Dursley", the doctor said. "The nurse will bring you some dinner shortly."

Then Petunia was alone. Her horror and disgust continued to grow and gnaw at her mind. A monster. Inside her. The blood-spattered face of the beast, grinning as it tore her dress and spread her legs. All on continuous loop through her mind.

Next thing she knew, Petunia was on the roof, looking over the edge to the ground far below. Then she stepped off.

(The day after the meeting of the Order of the Phoenix)

Margaret was driving through muggle London running errands. She'd heard from Sirius that Duncan and Fleur had slept together, and she was happy that her son had found someone to heal his heart. She was looking for a place to have lunch when her cell phone rang. She pulled into a parking lot overlooking the Thames to answer it. It was a Surrey number she didn't recognize.

"Hello?"

"Is this Mrs. Margaret Rosenblatt?"

"Speaking. Who is this?"

"This is Detective Chief Inspector Michael Weston of the Surrey Police Department."

"Oh yes, I remember you, Inspector", Margaret said with a smile. "How is the case against the Dursleys coming along?"

"Dead on the vine, I'm afraid. Literally."

"Why? What's happened?", Margaret asked in an annoyed tone.

"Vernon and Marge were killed on Halloween night, eaten by some monster. Dudley likely only survived because he was not home for the attack. Petunia jumped to her death on the3rd, after being informed that she was pregnant."

'Krugurath, the ogre. Ogres can reproduce with humans. Petunia was raped by that monster', Margaret thought, pitying the woman. "And Dudley?"

"Currently in the custody of Child Services. He was the one who found the bodies and his unconscious mother that night when he returned home from a costume party. Since Harry is his now his only living relative, I thought I should call you."

"*sigh*You did the right thing calling me, Inspector", Margaret sighed. "While I am Harry's primary guardian, he is technically Lord Potter and the head of the family. I'll talk to him and get back to you in a day or so."

Like the rest of the newly created Order of the Dragon, Neville was trying to find or think of someplace they could meet and practice in secret. He was lost in thought walking down a hallway on the seventh floor when he was jarred from his thoughts by Crabbe and Goyle deliberately bumping him when they could have easily gone around him.

"Watch where yer going, Longbottom!", Goyle jeered with a laugh, as Crabbe chuckled as well.

"Follow your own advice, boys!", a voice said behind them as their heads were clunked together! When the stars cleared from their vision, they saw a scowling Duncan! Where the Hell did he come from?! "Twenty points from Slytherin! Now get your rude, fat asses to class before I give you detention with me tonight! Move!"

The two Slytherins almost tripped over each other and nearly crashed into a wall, they couldn't get away fast enough!

Meanwhile, Neville thanked Duncan and continued on his way until he was alone in the hall. Reaching a dead-end and having no class at the moment, he paced back and forth with his thoughts…and a door formed itself from the wall next to him!

After the first night of defense lessons in the Room of Requirement(Thank you, Neville!), Hermione met with her study group in the library when afternoon classes were done. The others were Susan Bones and Daphne Greengrass, both 4th years like Hermione, but Susan was a Hufflepuff and Daphne was in Slytherin. It was almost unheard of for such groups or friendships crossing House lines in Hogwarts; yet here they were, all three from different houses and as brilliant as any Ravenclaw. In fact, the 4th year Ravenclaws often found themselves academically outdone by Hermione and her friends, much to their irritation. Speaking of….

"Excuse me, girls?", an unsure yet sweet voice said. The three looked up, waaaay up, into the copper-toned face of Raven Thunderbird. "I'm Raven Thunderbird. May I join you? My fellow Ravenclaws refuse to let me study with them. They say I'll 'hold them back'."

"Well that's just nonsense", Susan said. "I've been in classes with you. You're brilliant!"

"Of course you can join us", Hermione nodded.

"Thank you", Raven smiled gratefully, transfiguring one of the chairs to fit her much taller frame.

"The Ravenclaws can be a bit…..snooty", Daphne confirmed. "I noticed that you've taken your housemate Luna Lovegood under your wing. Good for you. She tends to get picked on, especially by her housemates. Her bullies probably hate that you're protecting her."

"*pfft!* We're supposed to be the house of the smart", Raven scoffed. "So what if Luna is a bit…odd. She's really smart and very sweet. Messing with her is just…... wrong."

They others agreed, and welcomed Raven to their group; now with members from all four Hogwarts Houses. They got to know each other, studied together and quietly speculated what Harry would teach them at the next secret meeting.

At dinner that night in the Great Hall, Scorch flew in and delivered letters to Duncan and Harry from Margaret. After reading them, Harry looked up to Duncan at the Staff table to see his cousin nod back. Duncan turned to Dumbledore.

"Headmaster, Harry and I need to leave Hogwarts tomorrow morning", Duncan said. "We should be back by dinner at the latest."

"This is rather unexpected, Duncan. Might I ask why this cannot wait until the weekend?"

"It's a family emergency, and my mom needs us both."

"Very well, I shall cover your Care of Magical Creatures classes tomorrow", Dumbledore replied. "The two of you can floo from your office in the morning. Please give my regards to your mother and my hopes that everything will be alright."

"Thank you, Albus", Duncan said. It seems the old man is serious about trying to redeem his mistakes.

Dudley Vernon Dursley was sick and despondent. The horror at the deaths of his family and the knowledge he was now alone had him near catatonic. He barely noticed when Harry arrived with Margaret and Duncan to take custody of him. Despite their past, Harry tried to reach out to comfort his muggle cousin as they drove to Potter Manor.

After setting Dudley up in a room and giving instructions to the staff to look after him and inform them of any change, they met over lunch in the kitchen.

"In all the years I've known him, I've never seen Dudley like that", Harry said with pity.

"It is horrible what he's been through the last few days", Margaret conceded. "But it doesn't change everything he's done to you, Harry."

"His court hearing is scheduled for early January", Duncan added. "But sending him to juvie just seems cruel now."

"I agree", Margaret said as Harry nodded. "But there's no way we can just 'forgive-and-forget' his past crimes."

"Maybe we can find a way to help him and rehabilitate him at the same time?", Harry suggested.

(A few days later, the hospital morgue, 2 am.)

The morgue was dark and quiet, the Medical Examiner having left hours ago, despite the backlog of work. It was as quiet as a tomb…..

Until a loud bang rang out! And another. And another! Dents began to appear in the small door of the 'cooler' drawer containing the body of Petunia Dursley with each bang until it burst open. A grotesque, snarling creature roughly the size and shape of a human toddler hopped out, leaving behind the picked-clean skeleton of its dead mother.

Sticking to the shadows, it found a way out. Guided by instinct, it would seek out its sire, devouring any poor creature unfortunate enough to cross its path along the way; rodents, cats, dogs, unattended children…..

Author's notes: Disturbing, right? Sorry for the delay posting, between a bit of writers-block, helping fellow writers, and getting absorbed in reading other stories…..well, you know how it is. Plus, I've got other stories in-progress I need to update as well.

As always, I welcome long reviews and suggestions. And this month flames will be used to keep the yuletides burning. Happy Holidays!
