A Very Morgan Christmas-Ch 15
Penelope woke up a few hours after laying down, she glanced at the clock and saw that it was around 2:00, she smiled knowing that the others were downstairs getting the Santa gifts ready for the morning. She threw the covers back and sat up on the side of the bed.
She stood and started walking toward the window so that she could look out at the beautiful snow when she was hit with another pain. Her hand went to her stomach and she said, "not again, is this, could this be, am I in labor"?, she braced herself against the wall and bit down on her bottom lip as the contraction ended.
Her hand slid around to her back and she started rubbing, hoping that the ache in her hips would subside but sadly pain after pain hit. Just as she dropped down to her knees Derek opened the door and peeped inside checking on her.
"He ran over to her and said, "baby what happened, are you alright"?, she looked up at him but couldn't speak as another pain rocked her body. Derek said, "baby girl, what is it, what's wrong"?, she looked up at him and said, "I think I'm in labor".
As Derek got ready to her up she grabbed his arm as her water broke, he then picked her up and carried her over to the bed and said, "I'll get momma, I'll be right back", she blew out a deep breath and nodded her head yes as she watched him run out into the hall. He looked down into the living room and said, "momma, baby girl is in labor, we need you".
Fran, Reid and the girls all ran upstairs and into Derek and Penelopes bedroom, Fran said, "alrigth honey, tell me what's happening". Penelope said, "I've been having pains for a while", Reid said, "a while, how long is a while, a few minutes, a few hours"?, Penelope mumbled something and Derek said, "what was that"?, Penelope said, "all day, I've been having pains off and on all day".
Emily said, "why didn't you tell us"?, Penelope said, "I didn't want to cause any problems", Fran said, "honey let's get you situated and see how far dilated you are". Penelope intertwined fingers with Derek as Fran raised the covers and then looked up at Penelope and said, "honey you're fully dilated and I can see the babies head".
Reid looked at Fran and said, "do you have the supplies you need"?, Fran nodded her head and said, "I do, they are all in the closet in the hall, well everything but the hot water". JJ said, "I'll go heat the water, I'll be right back", Emily nodded her head and watched as JJ ran from the room.
Fran looked at Penelope and said, "it looks like my grandchild is ready to meet everybody, are you ready for this"?, Penelope blew out a deep breath and said, "more than ready Fran, more than ready". Derek kissed her gently on the lips and said, "I love you".
Penelope said, "I love you too handsome", Fran said, "alright honey on the next contraction I need you to push", Penelope bit down on her bottom lip and said, "okay" as she laid there waiting on her next contraction to hit.
