"Mummy! Daddy!" Luna shrieked the morning after Christmas, racing into their room and jumping up and down on their bed, jolting them both awake.

"What's wrong, sweetie?" Pandora asked sleepily.

"It's snowing!" Luna pointed out of the window, where fresh snowflakes were gently falling onto an already snow-covered ground. "I gonna go play in the snow!"

"Oh no you don't, young lady," said Xeno sharply, firmly holding the little girl in place by the shoulder. "You are not going outside on an empty stomach."

"But Daddy...!"

"Your father's right, Luna," said Pandora. "Breakfast first, then snow."

One quick bowl of Dirigible Plum porridge later, Pandora was finding it impossible to get Luna dressed for the snow - because just as she was about to unfasten Luna's new pajamas, the toddler pulled away from her and hugged herself tightly, shaking her head hard.

"Sweetie, I can't get your coat on until you get out of those pajamas," Pandora told her patiently.

"No!" Luna said loudly. Ever since the little girl had put them on the day before and the Moon Frogs had started flashing, she'd grown extremely attached to her new pajamas, and they were exceedingly comfy to boot. She would never take them off, never! Except when she needed to pee, of course.

"Luna..." her mother began again, but Luna simply responded with an even louder "NO!"

"What's going on in here?" Xenophilius asked, concerned.

"I'm trying to get Luna into her winter clothes but she refuses to let me take off her pajamas," Pandora replied with a sigh of frustration.

"Why don't you simply put them on over her pajamas?" Xeno suggested. "She'll be nice and warm either way."

"I suppose that could work." Pandora proceeded to do just that.

Several minutes later, Xenophilius was showing his daughter how to make what he called a "Snow-kack."

"And be sure to make the horn nice and crooked."

"Like this, Daddy?" Luna asked, carefully shaping the horn as her father had instructed.

"Yes, exactly like that! Very good," Xeno told her. "You catch on quickly." When at last their "Snow-kack" was finished, father and daughter spent a few moments pondering what to call it.

"What do you think of the name Cornelius?" asked Xeno.

"It's a girl Snow-kack, Daddy."

"Then how about Ursula?"

Luna shook her head.

"Rosita?"

Another shake of the head from Luna.

"Melody?"

"Okay!" said Luna. Just then Pandora called them into the house for some hot chocolate.

Several days passed with Luna still refusing to take off her Moon Frog pajamas or let either of her parents do it. Each time Pandora announced it was bath time, the toddler would run throughout the house with her mother chasing her until both were too exhausted to continue. By the fourth day, Pandora was at her wit's end.

"Xeno, what are we going to do?" she sighed. "That girl can be so stubborn sometimes."

"I'm sure we'll think of something," her husband assured her. "If not, at least she'll grow out of them in a few years."

"Years?!" Why, oh why had she made those pajamas?! How could she have foreseen this happening?! Somehow, she had to fix this.

That night, just as Pandora was about to drift off to sleep, she heard a tearful voice say, "Mummy?"

"What's wrong, Luna?"

"I had a accident."

Aha! Pandora thought. If this doesn't get her out of her pajamas, nothing will. Her hopes were dashed, however, when Luna pulled away from her, saying tearfully, "No, Mummy, noooooo!" Xenophilius walked in a few minutes later after changing Luna's bedsheets, and the minute he saw her still in her pajamas, he thought of the perfect way to persuade her to take them off.

"Okay then, wear those pajamas as long as you'd like," he told her. "But it won't be long before Urocaps start to come around."

"Urocaps?" the little girl repeated.

"That's right!" Pandora said, catching on. "If you wear clothes for too long after you've wet them, these nasty bugs will come and start eating away at your skin until they get all the way down to your bones, and then they will eat those too." At this, Luna gasped in horror.

"So what's it going to be?" Xeno asked. "Do you want to be eaten by Urocaps, or do you want to take off your pajamas now?" With a pout Luna allowed her mother to get her out of her pajamas (which Pandora cleaned afterward with a strong Scouring Charm) and clean her up. After Luna had been put back to bed, Pandora realized it would be a while before the little girl wore her Moon Frog pajamas again, and in the meantime she and Xeno would have to teach their daughter more about the perils of wearing the same clothes for days without cleaning them.

A/N: So that's another crisis averted. And this just goes to show that sometimes the key to getting children to do what you want is to outsmart them.
