Chapter 15
The next morning after Ann had cooked a very big breakfast for all the men ,Adam and Ann went to see her lawyer about her businesses and how to handle them.

"Hello Ann. Nice to see you again."
"You to Leona. This is my husband ,Adam Cartwright."
"Hello Adam. Nice to see Ann finally got what she has been wanting."
"OH, is that so?" he looked at Ann with a smile
"OH yes. So how can I help you two?"
"Well Leona, Adam and I are moving to his home in Virginia City and the Ponderosa."
"OH, how nice."
"Yes well, I have these businesses and I need too do something with them. I don't know whether too sell them or hang on too them for investments."
"Well Ann, it's up to you. The thing is, do you need the money right now from a sale or would you like too keep living on the profits?'
"Ah, just to be clear, she doesn't ever have to worry about money. She is my wife and I have plenty too support her."
"All right then, Ann would you like for me too handle the sale of them for you?"
"Yes, I think so Leona. Like Adam told me I could use the money to invest in something in Virginia City."
"Yes you can. And you don't have to wait until these places sell to do this either. If you find something you like down there get in touch with me and I will guarantee the money."
"Oh well then, this is easier than I thought it would be."
"Yes it is Ann. So you want all of your investments sold?"
"Yes I think so. Thank you Leona. So Adam and I can just go ahead and pack our things and go?"
"Don't see why not. It's been wonderful doing business with you Ann. And good luck in your new home."
"Thank you ,Leona."
"All right, goodbye now Ann, Adam."
"Goodbye Ma'am."

"Well Pa, it looks like after we're all packed up here, we can just head out. Ann has left everything in her lawyers hands."
"OH good. Well then, shall we start helping to pack?"
"Yes. Where is Hoss and Joe?"
"They went to send a telegram to Hop Sing telling him how many are coming home."
"Good idea. OK I guess we can start in the living room here. Ann, do you want every thing in here?"
"Just the photo's and mementos Adam, the furniture can stay. Except for my rocker, I want that."
"All right dear. Do you have crates too put all of these into?'
"In the stable Adam."

After things were all packed up they were loaded onto the wagon that Ann had in the stable and tied down and ready to head out the next morning.
"Well I guess we'll be joining you in the hotel tonight Hoss."
"Sounds good. At least I'll have someone ta talk logic ta."
"Well let's go over then and get our rooms."

At the hotel Adam and Ann got their own room, Pa his own room and Hoss and Joe a room together again. Then they went to the dinning room and ordered roast beef dinner.
"Is this Ponderosa beef Ann?"
"I won't serve any thing else Mr. Cartwright."
"About that Mr. Cartwright Ann, you are my daughter-in-law now so you might want to start calling me Pa like my other children do."
"Oh my, well OK, Pa."
"Much better my dear."
"I must say, this is going better than I thought it would."
"Ya, me too."
"Joe, why do you say that? Eventually Pa and I work it out."
"Ha, ha, yes we do, in time."
"Well, would any one like dessert besides Hoss?'
"I think we all would sweetheart."
"Janice, can we all have some of today's dessert."
"It's peach pie Ann."
"Great, bring all of us some please."

After dinner they all went to their rooms for the night too get a good nights sleep for there long trip tomorrow morning.
