Surprise! Christmas special! I had the idea in my head for a couple days now, and I though "Why not?" So, here we are! Anyways, enjoy!

Bonus: Skye's first Christmas

Sonic was running. What else was new? But no, today he was running towards his best friend, and little brother's, home. The two tailed fox wanted to meet with him about something really important, and the hedgehog was not one to let him down.

The rapid sound of snow crunching beneath his feet brought the hedgehog a strange sense of satisfaction.

It was December 22nd after all, just a few days before Christmas.

Truth be told, he was also a bit worried. Tails almost never calls him over out of the blue, so he thought that he picked up on something Eggman was up to… again…

"Can't he just leave the holidays alone?" Sonic asked himself as he turned a corner. "It was bad enough when he tried to kidnap Santa last year…"

Truth be told, the hedgehog couldn't remember the last time he actually had the time to celebrate the holidays with Tails.

Pushing that thought aside, he skid to a stop in front of the fox's home and knocked on the door.

Shortly after, his wife answered.

"Took you long enough!" Tangle said.

"I was helping the Chaotix put Christmas lights up, had to finish up there first." Sonic said.

"That's a lie and you know it. You got this place set up in seconds, and their place is half the size!" Tangle said with a laugh.

"Vector is having Vanilla over on Christmas Eve…" Sonic explained.

"… So he kept making you redo it cause he wanted it to be perfect, gotcha."

"Yeah… think they'll ever be a thing?" Sonic asked.

"Eh, maybe." Tangle said. "Might just be real close friends for a while though."

"Probably." Sonic said. "Anyways… WHERE IS MY FAVORITE NEPHEW?!" Sonic suddenly shouted.

"Uncle Sawnic!" Skye said as he ran over to hug the hedgehog's leg.

"Hey there he is! You've been good this year I hope?" Sonic asked.

Skye excitingly nodded his head.

"Good, Santa will bring you lots of great presents I am sure!" Sonic said.

Skye only responded by tilting his head in confusion.

"Uh… Sonic?" Tails said as he walked over. "Come on, we need to talk."

"Oh, right." Sonic said as he walked inside. "Oh, hey Jewel!"

"Hello Sonic." Jewel said from the couch. "Don't worry, I'll watch Skye while the three of you get done what you need to do."

"Thanks 'Aunt Jewel.'" Tangle said with a laugh.

Jewel just smiled at this. "'Best Aunt in the world Jewel' you mean?"

"Of course!" Tangle said. "Now come on Sonic."

"Ok…"

The three of them went outside to the back yard to talk.

"Here, I made some hot chocolate, figured you'd want something warm to drink." Tails said as he handed Sonic a mug.

"Thanks bro." Sonic said before taking a sip. "Mint Chocolate huh?"

"My favorite, as you know." Tails said.

"Ok, let's get on topic, this is very serious after all." Tangle said.

"Right, so… what's up?" Sonic asked.

"Sonic, have you noticed that for the past two years, Eggman or Starline have tried something on Christmas?" Tails asked.

"Yeah, figured that was what this was about." Sonic said. "So, you pick up on their plans this year?"

"Nope." Tails said before taking a sip of his hot chocolate. "This year, we are not getting involved in any world saving for Christmas."

"That confident that they will leave us alone?" Sonic asked.

"Oh not at all." Tails said with a laugh. "But, I managed to convince Team Dark, Knuckles, Amy, Silver and Whisper to keep an eye out and take care of things as needed."

"Really? Ok, but why do all that?" Sonic asked.

"Sonic… think about it for a bit… we missed out on celebrating Christmas two years in a row…" Tails said.

"I don't see why that is so… oh…" Sonic said, suddenly realizing what this meant.

It's been two years since they were able to really celebrate the holidays… and just over two years since Skye was born.

"Yeah, we haven't been able to celebrate with Skye yet…" Tails said. "So, this year is going to be different!"

"So, stay out of Eggman business, and be around for Christmas, right?" Sonic asked.

"Pretty much." Tangle said. "Oh, and make sure you get Skye a good gift. When we told him about the presents, he got really excited."

"Didn't Santa bring him presents the past couple of years? You would think after we kinda saved him last year…" Sonic said.

"Oh he did, but Skye never really knew what they were for." Tangle said. "This year, we are going big and showing him just how awesome the holidays are!"

"Ah, so a night in town is in order?" Sonic asked. "If I'm correct, there's a light show and tree lighting ceremony on Christmas Eve."

"Yeah, that's the plan." Tails said. "Leave all the planning to us, you just focus on getting a good gift and being here on Christmas Eve."

"Gotcha. I got two days to find something great!" Sonic said. "We'll make this the best Christmas ever! Just you wait!"

"This is going terribly…" Sonic groaned out as he took a seat on a bench.

Turns out, doing your Christmas shopping two days before Christmas eve was a terrible idea… and it didn't help that he waited a day after his conversation with Tails to do anything.

"I've never had this much trouble finding a gift for someone before… then again, never had to buy toys as a gift…" Sonic said to himself. "Maybe Amy would have an idea on what I should do…"

"Hey… is that Sonic I see over there?"

"Huh?" Sonic said before turning to the voice.

He did not expect what he saw though.

"Belle?!"

"Wow, it is you! It's been a while hasn't it?" Belle said as she walked over.

"Yeah it has, I don't think I've seen you since the wedding!" Sonic said. "How've you been?"

"I've been doing well. Really busy this time of the year though." Belle said.

"Busy? Doing what?" Sonic asked.

"I'm a toymaker. Someone's gotta make the gifts parents give their kids." Belle explained.

"Ah, makes sense. You were always good with those tools in your fingers." Sonic said.

"Speaking of kids though, how's little Skye doing? Haven't stopped in for a visit in a while."

"Oh he's good, really excited for tomorrow." Sonic said. "This is gonna be the first time we really celebrate with him."

"Oh wow! That's gotta be exciting, it's his first Christmas!"

"Yeah, it is…" Sonic said before realizing something. "Wait, you said you're a toymaker, right?"

"Yup! One of the best in the business might I add! Why you ask?"

Sonic smiled at this.

"I need a favor."

"Whoaaaaaa!" Skye said as he stared at the tree in the living room.

"How long has he been like that?" Sonic asked.

"An hour." Tails said with a laugh. "I think we did a good job of decorating the tree this year."

"Yeah, I'd say so." Sonic said. "So, when are we gonna pry him away from it to go into town?"

"In a bit, just waiting on…"

"Sorry I'm late!" Jewel said as she walked into the house.

"And there we go!" Tangle said. "Hey Skye! Want to go see an even bigger tree?!"

Skye whipped his head towards his mother and nodded excitingly.

"Alright, let's get going!" Sonic said as Skye climbed onto his father's back.

When they got into the main part of the city, Sonic could already tell that Skye was having a great time, as the child looked around in wonder at all the decorations set up.

That being said…

"Penny for your thoughts?" Jewel asked.

"Just wondering how the others are doing… you think Eggman decided to take it easy this year or…?" Sonic said.

"Probably not, but hey! You know how tough those guys are! I'm sure they're fine!"

Meanwhile

"WHY ARE THOSE MISSILES SHAPED LIKE PENGUINS?!" Amy screamed as she batted away a missile that was heading towards Santa's workshop.

"Less talking, more fighting!" Silver shouted as he sent a bunch back at Eggman's machine.

"IT'S NO USE! NOTHING CAN STOP THE EGG NOG! OH HO HO HO HO HO!" Eggman shouted.

"THAT NAME IS TERRIBLE AND YOU KNOW IT!" Amy shouted.

"I thought it was clever…" Knuckles mumbled out.

"Yeah, I guess you're right." Sonic said.

"Anyways, why don't you run and get some hot chocolate for us? Skye looks a bit cold." Tangle said.

"Gotcha, be right back!" Sonic said before walking away.

"Make sure Skye's has marshmallows!" Tangle said.

"I know!"

Shortly after, the hedgehog returned.

"The perks of being a hero I guess… everyone pretty much begged me to skip to the front of the line…" Sonic said as he handed everyone their drinks.

"Good thing too, they're about to light up the tree!" Tails said.

As if one cue, the tree in the center of the city suddenly lit up in a large array of colorful lights.

"Whoaaaaaa!" Skye said as he stared at the tree.

"Better drink that up before it get's cold kiddo!" Sonic said.

"Oh! Right!" Skye said before frantically taking a sip of his hot chocolate, before suddenly pulling it away.

"Geez, not so fast Skye, you'll burn yourself!" Tangle said as she went over and wiped some hot chocolate off of his muzzle.

Sonic couldn't help but smile while watching Tails and Tangle fret over their son as he squirmed around.

They really were a happy family.

"Right, when everyone's done with their drinks, we should head to the stadium for the light show!" Sonic said.

"Sounds like a plan."

"IT WAS SO COOOOOOOL!" Skye said excitingly as Vanilla watched him excitingly go into detail about the light show from the night before.

"Sounds like he had a great time…" Amy said tiredly.

"Yeah, thanks a lot for taking care of things last night." Sonic said.

"It's fine… but you owe me one." Amy groaned out.

"That bad huh?"

"I never want to see another penguin as long as I live…" Amy groaned out.

"Hey guys! The cookies are ready!" Cream said as she walked into the room with a plate of cookies…

They were shaped like penguins.

"UUUUGH!" Amy groaned out as she took a cookie and took a bite. "Actually, these are really good! What kind of cookies are these?"

"Hot chocolate flavor, with melted marshmallows in the center." Cream explained. "I'm glad you like it Ms. Amy!"

"Cream… how many times do I have to tell you that you can drop the 'Ms.' thing?"

"Oh, sorry Amy." Cream said. "Just takes some getting used to."

"It's fine, thanks for the cookies by the way!" Amy said.

"No problem!" Cream said before walking away.

"I think Skye's waited long enough to open his presents." Tails suddenly said, causing the younger fox to whip his head around in excitement.

The gift exchange went well, everyone getting their fair share of wrapped goodies.

Skye on the other hand, was pretty much buried in gifts.

His gifts ranged from a toy guitar from the Chaotix, to a toy train set from Jewel.

Then, it came time for Sonic's gift to him.

"… Whoa…"

It was a whole set of toys, modeled after his parents and his uncle.

"Oh wow! I didn't know they made toys like these!" Tails said, marveling at the spinning tails on his own toy.

"They don't. I might of called in a favor from a friend though." Sonic said.

Looking across the room, he saw Belle wink at him.

"Good job dude." Tails said.

"Yeah…" Sonic said. "Just one more gift I gotta give though."

He then walked over to Amy and gave her an envelope.

"Huh? What's this?" She asked.

"Your gift, duh."

"You didn't have to…" Amy said.

"Yeah, but I wanted to." Sonic said. "Merry Christmas Amy, and thanks again for last night."

Amy just smiled at this as she tore open the envelope.

"Wh-what in the world?" Amy asked.

"Those, are two tickets to that movie that you have been gushing about going to for the past half year." Sonic said.

"…Huh?"

"So, you want to go with me when it releases in a couple of weeks?"

"…HUH?!"

"I'll take that as a yes!" Sonic said with a laugh. "Meet you here the day of? We'll do lunch!"

"…" Amy stayed silent, and happily nodded her head.

When Sonic walked away, he was greeted with the smiling face of Tails.

"I think you just made her year." He said.

"Yeah, probably." Sonic said with a laugh. "Wait… what is Knuckles doing?"

They looked over to the Echidna in question, to see him down on one knee, and holding out a small box.

"THAT'S HOW HE DOES IT?!" Sonic asked.

"You didn't figure that out during your trip to the future?" Tails whispered.

"No, I wanted to keep it a surprise!" Sonic said. "Congrats you two!"

Sonic then looked around at all of his friends enjoying the day, and couldn't help but smile.

He really did love all of his friends, and his family.

Is Christmas a thing in Sonic's world? Who knows? I just thought this was a fun idea, and I wanted to do something special for the holiday. Don't think this means I won't be updating 8 Years Later tomorrow morning though, that is still coming.

Anyways, yeah, Sonic is gonna go on a date with Amy! Took him long enough. That is actually me setting up something for a good bit later. It really won't come into play for quite some time, but you'll know when it does.

Also, I really wanted to include Belle in this story. We don't know much about her yet, so I decided to have her involvement be minimal.

I don't know if you could tell, but I wanted to paint a really cute picture of Skye with this, I hope I succeeded.
