Chapter 15- Please Mr. Postman

Lily was waiting at the door it was the second full day of summer and James promised that he would write to her everyday normally she would use owls, but her sister would throw such a hissy fit if an owl was coming to the house everyday and tensions were already high between them, so she told James to use the normal post instead. Lily waited all day for the post, and nothing came. She was hurt that James didn't keep his promise and that he didn't write to her but, she kept her hopes high that the postman would deliver her a letter tomorrow.

The week had come and gone and Lily was still without a letter from James still on Saturday she was still by the door waiting for the postman and low and behold there was still no letter from James. That night Lily cried in her sleep as James had not written to her for the whole week since post was not delivered on Sunday. On Monday Lily stopped the postman and started to sing. k

(Wait) oh yes wait a minute Mr. Postman (Wait) wait Mr. Postman. (Mister Postman look and see) oh yeah! (is there a letter in your bag for me (I've been waiting a long, long time) oh yeah! (since I heard from a boy from mine)

"Sorry I have no letter for you" the postman responded

Once again Lily was crushed because James hadn't written her at this point, she thought that James had found another girl and stopped liking her. The next day Lily was surprised when she saw the mail and she had 8 letters from James. She opened the first one and it read

Dear Lily

I'm very sorry if this letter is taking a while to get to your muggle post is so confusing owl post is much more efficient. These stamp things that you have to put on your letter is very confusing and how many you have to buy like why can't one just pay the postman to deliver the letter instead of getting stamps I'll never understand that. Anyway, that's enough complaining from me how has your summer been has your sister been treating you alright I hope she has me and the boys just moved into Godric's hollow and it's been a good time I hope I see you soon. I know you were worried about I might meet new girls in this new place I do have my eyes on this one girl with green eyes and red hair you might need to worry about her although she doesn't live close to me, she lives somewhere around spinners end and those are the only eyes I've had on one girl for the past six years. I miss you!

Lily saw that he had written her everyday and that he didn't break his promise every letter when she first read it and saw that he had meet someone but that she didn't live close her heart almost broke but when she read it again, she realized that James was talking about her. After she finished reading all eight letters from James, she immediately went up to her room to write to James.

It was Tuesday of the second week of summer break and James had written a letter to Lily everyday and by now he was expecting a letter from Lily as he had a few problems with his first few letters figuring out how the muggle post system worked. He thought when he sent all of those first week letters on Friday that he would have a response by Lily now but not yet. Peter was not with the rest of the marauders because his mom required him to go on their vacation. when the postman arrived James, Remus, and Sirius stepped and sang to the postman.

James was pretty bummed that Lily hadn't written back yet but he still had hope that she would write back soon and like James did everyday he wrote a letter to Lily and sent it through the muggle post. It was the next day and the Postman had come and this time there was a letter from Lily and James ripped it open and read it.

Dear James

I'm sorry for not writing back sooner your first letter just arrived yesterday I am glad that you found out how to use the muggle post even if it was very hard for you. Things have been ok here my sister refuses to talk to me and she's dating an actual Walrus I wish you were here with me. Anyways that's enough complaining, how are you? Are you enjoying the time with the boys? I miss you and I love you too.
