Chapter 11.
Klaus had to start making calls, he didn't exactly love witches. But you had to be a fool not to accept that they have their uses here and there. He just hopes he can get one of them who can perform body possession spells. Since the last witch that performed that spell on him to temporarily possess Alaric was killed shortly before the curse Esther inflicted on him was broken. If Elijah is to inhabit the body of a mortal. Then he would have to ingest vervain daily. To prevent vampire compulsion. To have access to an Original's mind all their secrets and weaknesses exposed wasn't a risk any Mikaelson could take.
No, enemy should be underestimated. That's how people fall and that wasn't an option from the Mikaelson family. Even if one of his personal witches wasn't close by, maybe one could direct them to a witch they know who would be willing to help their cause. Klaus sighed before hanging up.
"Well," Rebekah said.
"My preferred witch can't perform the kind of magic, we require. She's currently in Spain," Klaus replied.
"Have her project herself to us, to perform the ritual," Elijah said.
"She doesn't have the power, to project herself here and perform the ritual. She has given me, the name of a witch who could perform the spell, it will only be a couple of hours by car," Klaus explained.
"The journey will give us more time to discuss my child and to catch those who were daggered on how far the world and society have come since. They had the chance to see it," Elijah said.
"Happy to rub the salt into the wound Elijah," Kol commented.
"Now is not the time, brother," Elijah replied.
Meanwhile, back over at the Salvatore Boarding House, we have Stefan chained to a chair inside a circle of salt. Down below in one of the cells. While the vampire who had flipped his humanity switch off a few months ago wishes he was alone instead has to put up with the presence of Bonnie and Elena.
"Damon said, he wanted to get Stefan to switch his humanity back on by himself," Elena said to break the silence in the room.
"And you don't trust him too?" Bonnie asked Elena shook her head.
"I do, but I don't want Stefan to get unnecessarily hurt. Damon will just try and use brute force violence. I just want to talk. Damon's already tried, I wanna try and come at it from a different angle," Elena answered.
"We'll try and leave violence as a last resort E, we don't have any experience with a vampire without their humanity. Maybe, Damon has," Bonnie said.
"You're wasting your breath nevermind your time. I have no intention of turning my humanity switch back on. And you won't be able to keep me in this cell forever," Stefan spoke - up turning the two girls' gaze to him.
"Stefan, you can leave this cell anytime, you want. All you have to do is flip that switch back on. You can't be content nevermind, happy right now," Elena replied.
"Oh, Elena this is one of the few times in my existence, where I have never been better. Being out of this cell would be even more of a pleasure, but if I have to spend a little bit of time stuck in here only to prolong my freedom so be it," Stefan laughed.
"You have no freedom, Stef," Bonnie said.
"On the contrary, I am completely free, you two just can't comprehend why," Stefan replied. Elena carefully approached Stefan but still, she made sure not to cross over into the circle.
"Once, you turn it back on, you'll be able to feel everything. How much your friends care about you. How much you care about them. And how much we love each other," Elena tells Stefan. The vampire just rolls his eyes, before he attempted to lunge at Elena which caused the girl to jump back and quickly retreat back over to Bonnie. The chair and chains kept him at bay.
"It's okay, he can't cross the circle, the boundary spell is strong," Bonnie said as she pulled Elena close to her.
"We're done Elena, I feel nothing for you or my former friends. Without emotions, I have nothing to tether me down or keep me from truly enjoying my immortality. Word of advice girls. I would make the most of the time you have left. If I know Klaus, he's on his way. And when he sees you, he have you begging for death," Stefan said his voice remained its natural tone, but with no sense of emotion present. Bonnie then whispered something in Latin and clicked her fingers towards Stefan which made him fall instantly into a deep sleep.
"We have to keep trying," Elena insisted.
"We will, he hasn't been off blood for long. Maybe, after a couple of days without blood. He'll be easier to crack. He shouldn't wake up until mid-afternoon tomorrow," Bonnie replied the two then left the cell locking it on the way out.
Over at the Gilbert House, in the kitchen. We have Jenna and George sat across the dinner table. In the middle of the table, there is a crate of cider open a crate that held twelve cans now only four.
"No, photos?" Jenna asked. George shook his head before taking a sip of his cider.
"Sorry," George apologised.
"I shouldn't be surprised, who goes into hiding and takes photos," Jenna replied, before drinking a mouthful, "Cider doesn't really affect me, nowadays,"
"Perks of being a vampire, or a hybrid our tolerance for alcohol is high. If I could have taken photos. I would have," George said.
"Everyone should have photos of them taken as they grow up. The embarrassing school photographs, birthdays and Christmas photos," Jenna ranted.
"Burning all mine was one of the best things that have ever happened to me," George replied.
"We did a lot of questionable things back then," Jenna said.
"I did keep one of us, though," George said, as he pulled his wallet out of one of his trouser pockets. He then passes his wallet over to Jenna who happily accepts it. And looks at the picture.
"Oh, my god! What were we thinking? Your hair was bright green," Jenna laughed.
"And your hair was bright blue, I think that was the night we got tattoos on our butts," George recalled with a smile.
"Haha, I think it was, didn't we do it for a bet?" Jenna asked.
"We were always gonna do it, but getting one-hundred dollars for doing it as a bet was a bonus," George answered.
"What's a hybrid? You said a vampire or a hybrid's tolerance for alcohol is high. Are you hybrid are you what Klaus is now?" Jenna asked.
"I am a hybrid of sorts, but I haven't got a drop of vampirism in me. When August was a toddler. I had a witch Samantha perform a ritual using a small vial of August's blood amongst other things. To enhance my werewolf abilities and allow me to chose when and how I transition into a wolf. When I die, I die for good no immortality for me," George explained.
"What happened to that vial of blood? Did anyone else get their hands on it? Bonnie said people can use blood to track people down or ..." Jenna started.
"Jenna, calm down, I would never put August's well-being at risk. Samantha made things very clear. That after the ritual was complete any magical properties that were in that vial of blood was gone. I tossed the blood down a sink," George interrupted.
"When Klaus comes, what's gonna stop him from killing us? I doubt Elijah will be with him," Jenna asked.
"I don't know, we'll just have to be smart. Right now, no vampire can enter this house without permission. Only what you, Caroline and the Salvatore brothers can come in and out without permission? Even if we can't keep them out of the whole town. We might be able to keep them at bay until. We find a way to put them down for good," George answered.
