Hey everyone, I'm sorry it's been so long. I have been working on my own original work "How a Chieftain is Made" which I'm hoping to publish within next couple months, which was inspired by this series :) Hope everyone is doing well!

His hair was flying every which way, he could feel it, b he didn't care. Hiccup stretched out his arms and closed his eyes, Toothless gliding confidently through the sky.
Toothless called out below him, there must be something worth looking at. Hiccup opened his eyes and gasped as the sky cascaded with hues of pinks and violet, clouds so puffy he could imagine wrapping his arms around them. Only, he didn't need to imagine. The pair were soaring through them, mixing them among the colors of the sky.
Hiccup sat up, and eagerly examined his surroundings. He wasn't in the sky, or touching clouds. Toothless wasn't with him. Astrid lay sound asleep beside him, peaceful as can be.
Hiccup was in his home, his father, Stoic, and Toothless missing from his life.
Quietly he got up and went outside. He jumped when he saw his mother sitting on the step.
"Mom?"
She didn't look back. "Hi, Hiccup."
"Is everything alright?" He rushed to her and stooped down.
"Of course, Son. I'm just watching the night sky." Valka leaned back and gazed at the stars serenely.
Hiccup relaxed and sat beside her. "Do... do you come here a lot?"
Hiccup had invited his mom to move in with him and Astrid but she declined with a hearty laugh, saying she'd "rather not" live with newly weds. That made him and Astrid blush, but he understood.
She had a small cottage built nearby but she often found herself sleepless and inclined to wander at night.
She smirked, "I do once in a while. I like to peek in to make sure you're alright..."
Hiccup blushed but refused to look at his mom, wondering if she had seen anything embarrassing.
Valka spoke again. "I wish I could make up for all the years I missed. I know I can't, but this helps somehow."
Hiccup blurted, "I miss Toothless. All of the dragons, really. I don't know who I am without them. They were the one thing I was good at..."
Valka hmmm'd in sympathy. "My heart aches too. But I know they are where they should be, with the King of the Dragons, your dragon."
This thought made Hiccup smile. Although apart, he and Toothless had similar roles.
"Maybe someday... you'll see him again," she added at last.
"Maybe," Hiccup smiled.
