Chapter twenty-eight: Wake Up Daddy!

(Chris pov)

I hurried to the room where they were keeping Jack. I couldn't leave him behind. We worked hard to stop his mother and I wasn't going to let HER kill her own son over some stupid ring with no real power.

"Why are you doing this?" I heard Jack's voice. I walked up and saw my sister with Jack. "Duchess?" She got him out?

"Isn't it obvious? I care about you Jack. I always have." She sounded so serious. I knew she did like him, but...was it as far as love?

Then again, I couldn't feel love. I don't know what it is because of my own parents. Duchess and I weren't really related, I was bound to her family because of what my parents did. See, I was human, while...my parents were once cats. I know it's hard to understand, and trust me, I don't even know myself. But I was welcomed in and became a part of a family. I met Jack and he was and is my one and only true friend.

"Come on! Your working for my mother!" Jack shouted.

"I did what I had to do to survive." Duchess snapped in defense.

As they talked, more guards came running so they hid.

"What's going on?"

"The knights are attacking." Duchess said. Was she serious?! There are no more knights. The queen made sue of that.

"Knights? There are no knights."

"I have a bullet car waiting." Duchess said once it was clear. I came out as if I was running for dear life. "Ana?!"

"Hey sis. You had the same Idea I had. Hello Jack. Care to get out of here?" I asked with a smile.

Jack nodded chuckling. "Yes indeed." He said. "But...Where is Lindsey?!"

"Don't worry. Her Mad Hatter has her safe and sound. And Nadia is safe with Maybell. We need to get out of here now." I said.

Jack nodded and the three of us made our way out.

(Lindsey pov)

Me and Hatter ran as fast as we could to get to the casino room where they held the oysters or...other humans like me.

"Okay, hold on, when we get there, what are we going to do? Guards, freeing them, I mean have you got a plan at all?" Hatter asked me.

I didn't really have one, I just knew we had to do something.

"You...know how to shoot a gun. So, we'll disarm the guards, and use the guns...for protection while trying to get everyone else out." I said.

Hatter didn't look too please with it. "Do you even know how to shoot a gun?!" He asked me.

"Of course. Alice and I did fighting classes...called karate, and I also took some other classes. Shooting a gun and it's safety was one of them. I also know how to use a sword if your wondering." I added.

Hatter seemed impressed. But he questioned something. maybe my mind of pulling the trigger, but that was no problem. Not at the moment anyway.

"We need to hurry before Alicia alerts the guards that were all lose. She'll be very unhappy for sure." I said.

Hatter agreed with me and we started running again.

As we made our way there, guards were already sworming over, but not at us.

"What's going on?" Hatter asked.

I slowly opened the door and got low to sneak in, and I saw her on stage. "Alice?!"

Hatter followed my lead and stood up when Alice was being held at gun point.

"Where do you think your going? Get down." The guard spoke. As she did, Hatter stood up, whistled, and punched one of the guards out, Alice kicked the other guards gun out of his hand and he punched him.

"Hatter! Your okay!" Alice sighed.

"Yeah."

"Lindsey!"

I threw the other guard over my shoulder and took his gun. hatter and I locked and loaded the guns we took being ready to break out of here.

"Oh my god."

"It's a few cuts and bruises. Nothing to worry." Hatter said.

"Nothing?!" I shouted.

Alice just hugged him. "I thought you were dead."

I actually smiled for the two as it was a difficult experience. "That feels good." Hatter sighed.

"Shouldn't we save all that when were out of here?" I asked.

"Right." Hatter nodded as Alice pulled away.

"I'm so sorry I didn't trust you."

"You trust me now?" Hatter asked.

"And me?" I added being a part of this already. Since I am Wonderland.

"Completely. Both of you." Alice said.

"Good." Hatter was smiling big. he won her over.

"Alright. Let's think of a plan to get the rest of the oysters out then." I said.

"Let's seal the other exits." Alice said looking around. "If there aren't any more suits in here."

"Don't look like it. Hatter, you get that one, I'll get this one here, and Alice you got the last one to the left." I said as we made a run for it.

As we sealed the doors. Alice thought about something Charlie and Caterpillar said.

"Mix the wrong feelings together, you wind up with a complete breakdown." That's what Caterpillar said. And Charlie said the queen "Only wanted to feel the good not the bad." She said those out load and I got her meaning. "Stirring up some emotions, among the rest of the oysters, it's cause the whole house of cards to fall. Nice plan Alice." I smiled at her.

(Alicia pov)

I made my way to where my parents were at and saw what the whole commotion was about.

"Are you kidding me?" I couldn't believe everyone was falling for this. They were nothing but bones. Literally.

"Mother. This is serious. Mad March is dead and the Hatter is running around..." I realized, I left him in that room. With the girls. "I fell for an old trick. I've got to hold myself together more when a handsome man gets in my way." I muttered.

"We'll need to evacuate soon." My mother said. "I better find those girl before-"

"No need. It's too late. This house is going down." My own mother knew this was going to fall. I couldn't believe she said that.

"Did you call for him?" She asked me. I smirked as I knew who she referred to. "Of course. he knows if something happens to come right away and get us." I told her.

"Good. Cause I think...everything is coming down." Meaning, my mother knew this was the end of her run, for now.

We waited and watched as the guards fought off the dry bones of knights and the inside was coming down with the oysters getting free. Alice. I'll always remember the stories my mother told me. and I'll always remember, that this Alice, is the one I'll get back at when this is over.

(Carpenter/Robert pov)

"Sir, you may need to take a look at this." One of my workers spoke up. "We have a problem." I walked over and looked at the monitor.

Jack had tried to get this actress to turn me against the queen, but I knew better.

"Everyone! Wake up!" The girl shouted on the monitor.

I knew there was something about her. I couldn't put my finger on it.

"Wake up everyone!" A second girl stood up there next to her...wait. I DO know them!

"Wake up daddy, your late. Wake up!"

A blonde girl in a blue dress shouted at me. I looked at my watch for the time.

"Come on dad. Wake up already. Everyone else is waking up here." Said the other girl in red.

I slowly came to realize..."Alice. Lindsey." It was my girls. Alice was my blood, and Lindsey we took in and adopted her. She was my second daughter.

I remembered them both. And looking around, I realized I had been draining my own kind and working for the queen.

I hurt Alice. I hurt her and Lindsey...and My own wife Carol.

"Oh dear god. What have I done?" I was waking up.
