It was the fifth day on Christmas, where mostly everyone was either spending it at Hogwarts or their homes with their families, some chose to spend it alone, such as Invictus, who was sitting lonely in the Slytherin Common Room, reading the History of Magic, until he was startled and the book being dropped by a push in the back and a shout.
"Ha! Got you!" Laughed Edward, sitting down.
Invictus rolled his eyes "Hello Edward" then tried reaching for the book.
"Here, allow me" Said Edward, getting the book for Invictus.
"Thank you, now if you would excuse me, I'd like to get back to my reading" Said Invictus.
"History of Magic? You do know the exams haven't started yet don't you?" Said Edward.
"I am reading for what you'd call entertainment rather than studying this time" Invictus said as he flipped a page.
"This is what you call entertainment, on Christmas Eve? You must be joking, come now Vic, where's your Christmas spirit? It's the perfect time for us to be drinking eggnogs, singing carols, and helping others decorate the school, isn't it?" Said Edward.
"No, because you prank others into drinking eggnogs, sabotage their carol singing, and instead of assisting with the decoration, you turn the decorations alive so you can watch others catch them" Said Invictus, flipping another page.
"Right, and you get to laugh with me through all that" Joked Edward.
"Apologies Edward, but I never truly saw fun in any of them" Said Invictus.
"Well then, won't you be going back to your family?" Said Edward.
"Unfortunately my family are too busy with Ministry business to be involved with Christmas and whatnot, as am I with school studies" Said Invictus.
"Oh don't be such a bore, you're always like this even at holidays, it won't hurt anyone if you left studies and had fun for a bit" Said Edward.
"Perhaps, but in order for me to have an excellent result that will allow me to apply for the Minister of Magic, 'fun' must be sacrificed I'm afraid, and besides, I never had the time to be so playful and...wild as you" Said Invictus.
"Wild?" Asked Edward, placing his cheek on his palm "I bet on five galleons if Zonko was empty of all the jokes and pranks in his jokeshop, and you still haven't chuckled" He said, then noticed someone who was very much like Invictus and might get along with "But he might...oi, Invictus, come on, there's someone I'd like you to meet" Edward got off the table.
"Right after I'm done with reading Edward, as you can see I still haven't finished" Said Invictus.
"Vic, you know I will cast a spell on that book and turn it to a monster book or might do another prank if you don't come with me don't you? And if you do, I'll leave you to your book and whatever else you have got planned for the whole day" Said Edward.
Invictus sighed and closed the book "Very well, lead the way" He said, getting up.
Invictus went with Edward to the Great Hall until he was behind someone also sitting alone, where Edward creeped behind and whispered "Verdimillious".
Jack jumped off his table when small green sparks burst like fireworks behind him, he got to look at the perpetrator laughing when he turned with his wand ready "Bloody hell Ed" Said Jack.
"Got you Jack!" Edward laughed.
"You're lucky I saw it was you" Jack laced his wand back"You could've been paralyzed or worse otherwise" He said.
"Oh well, I'm always ready to sacrifice myself for a bit of laughs" Said Edward.
"Then might I suggest that someday you would try to pull a prank that ends with all of us laughing and not just you?" Said Jack.
"I do, I just prefer the ones comes with reactions of others, like yours now" Said Edward, laughing, which made Jack shake his head then chuckle himself "There you go, this one ended with you laughing" Said Edward.
"I should be levitating your legs upside down for that, but in light of Christmas, I'll let it slide" Said Jack.
"Good, because I want you to meet a friend of mine, this is Invictus Tuft" Introduced Edward.
"Hello" Jack extended his hand.
"How do you do?" And Invictus shook it.
"Vic, this is Jack Reeves, he's one of my best friends and my rival at Quidditch, and he's mostly the one to clean up behind me when I'm going on my adventures" Said Edward.
"Very funny" Said Jack sarcastically.
"Oh, I forgot to mention, he's also a- Ow!" Edward was hit in the head by Jack before he could go on "Jack, what was that?".
"Ed, you know I don't like others knowing that about me" Said Jack.
"What? I wasn't going to tell him that you're a we- OW!" Jack struck Edward again.
"Edward" Said Jack strictly.
"All right all right, I won't, relax will you? I doubt that Invictus will judge you for that, some who know didn't" Said Edward.
"Yes well, I think I'd like to keep the amount of who know to a minimum if you don't mind" Said Jack.
"Don't tell me you're afraid that people might see you differently? I told you before and I told you again, anyone who will start thinking of you as a- you know what, or start calling you names, they'll be expecting to have a snake under their pillows" Said Edward.
"Very comforting Ed, but it's for the best, and for people's safety more, the lesser you know, the lesser in danger you are is what I'll say" Said Jack, sitting down at his table.
"Oh come on, you didn't think I was going to tell him that did you? You're my best friend Jack, your secrets are my secrets, and you can consider that I took your secret and threw it in the Chamber of Secrets, and I'm the Basilisk that guards it" Said Edward, chuckling.
"Oh? So then you're not here to tell Vic that like the other ten times you brought your friends to tell them about me?" Said Jack.
"First, I told them that you can be LIKE one, not that you are, and besides, none of them knew anyway, like Vic, you didn't know what I was going to say about Jack did you?" Said Edward.
"Other than he's your best friend, your rival at quidditch and that he cleans after your 'chaotic' tricks' No I don't" Said Invictus.
"See? He doesn't know either, so no one knew that about you from me" Said Edward, Jack rolled his eyes "Anyways, that's not what I came her for, as much as that is hard to believe, but I'm not, I was thinking that since it's a time for friends and family and what else, it would be great if you got be friends with Invictus" Said Edward.
"Ed I don't mean to offend but I'm not looking for any new friends as of now" Said Jack.
"Neither do I, as you can see he shares my opinion about acquiring new friends" Said Invictus.
"Oh come on you two, I can already see that there's lots in common between you both, you work and study hard, you like to read a lot, you're more cautious than careless, and you never smile" Said Edward.
"I never smile? Ed, I believe you've seen me laugh more than once" Said Jack.
"Well rarely that is" Whispered Edward.
Jack sighed and turned to Invictus "He put you to this didn't he? I'm sorry about Edward, he can be an evil trickster, but he has a good heart really" Said Jack.
"I tolerate him, nothing more" Said Invictus.
"There, that's what I like to see, you're already beginning to get along" Chuckled Edward.
"Sorry that I must disappoint you Edward, but I don't a progress in this new friendship" Said Invictus.
"I'll have to agree on him with this, I'm not really into making friends as you do, as of now you and the others are the only friends I need" Said Jack.
"Another thing you two have in common" Whispered Edward.
"May I be allowed to return to my reading now?" Said Invictus.
"Well..." Edward was about to agree when he thought of others he may be better friends for Invictus "Not just yet, there's other friends of mine I want you to meet, come on, I'll see you later Jack" Said Edward, taking Invictus with him.
"Good luck" Said Jack.
Edward lead Invictus through the Great Hall until he was behind two girls who were making shapes out of shadows, Edward motioned to Invictus to be quiet while he attempted to startle the girls.
"Hello Edward" Said Raven and Zaara, turning around.
"Oi, how did you know I was about to jump on you?" Said Edward.
"We have a crystal ball that tells us what people do all the times" Said Zaara.
"We also cast a spell that makes us read minds" Said Raven.
"Drat! I should've known...I'll get the both of you yet one of these days, but today, I'll be introducing you to one of my friends" Said Edward.
Raven and Zaara turned to Invictus slowly "Hello" They said together.
"Edward, might I ask you who are these girls?" Asked Invictus.
"This is Raven, and this is Zaara, they're a right pair of witches, well dark witches, but not the evil kind of dark, not all the times though that is" Said Edward.
"I see...how do you do? I'm Invictus Tuft" Introduced Invictus himself.
"I tell you Vic, you might start inviting them to your table, because there's a lot you have in common with them" Said Edward.
"Do we? I don't seem to recall that I practice in old and forbidden dark magic" Said Invictus.
"No, but both of you like to be alone and you never smile" Said Edward.
"Oh we smile sometimes" Said Zaara.
"Oh yes, do you really?" Asked a surprised Edward.
"Yes, we smile when we sometimes think of the Wizardkind destroying the muggle world" Said Raven, a small smirk formed on the girls.
"What else I should have expected?" Edward sighed "Doesn't matter, now, Zaara, Raven, I want you to treat Invictus as if he was one of your own, tell him what you like to do like your hobbies and all that, Vic, I want you to do the same" Said Edward.
"Must we go on with this?" Said Invictus.
"Yes if you want me to leave you alone, I know this might not seem as fun as you expect but you might be surprised how this turn out, they're not all dark like I told you, they're just shy, besides, I'm trying to teach them to be more open about themselves, maybe you can help me" Said Edward.
"And what should I say to them? I've no clue what are they interested in" Said Invictus.
"You were reading about the History of Magic earlier weren't you? Tell them about that, they're interested in old magic, go on" Said Edward.
Invictus sighed and turned to the girls "Erm, I've been reading the book of the History of Magic earlier, to pass the time" Said Invictus, the girls didn't reply and continued to stare at him, Invictus turned to Edward and shrugged.
"All right we'll take this the other way, girls, it's your turn now, ask Vic what he likes to do for fun" Said Edward.
Zaara began "What do you like to do for fun, Invictus?".
"I don't do anything for fun, but I read mostly to pass the time" Said Invictus.
"We have a book you can read if you like" Said Raven.
"Oh, and what book might that be?" Asked Invictus.
"It's an old book with ancient forgotten words" Said Raven.
"But we have to warn you, this book is cursed" Said Zaara.
"And reading it will start a dark ritual of sending demons and dark beings into the world" Said Raven.
"Thank you, but I'm not looking forward to read a cursed book" Said Invictus.
Edward faceplamed and sighed "Looks like we'll have to do this way my way then, and I know just the place for it, come on, girls, we're going to Hogsmeade" Said Edward.
"Right then, I believe my work is done" Said Invictus.
"Right then, I believe my work is done here" Said Invictus, going on his way.
"Oh no you don't, I'm not finished with you yet, you're coming too" Said Edward.
"No I am not, I must insist that I return to the common room and continue my reading" Said Invictus.
"Oh come on Vic, don't be like that, you'll miss out on a lot, besides how do you expect me to let you be alone while I'm out with my friends, and on Christmas? I want all of us to hang out" Said Edward.
"Apologies, but I prefer to be alone, seeing as I am not as optimistic and extrovert as you, you can go with your friends, and you can consider that I won't be alone, I'll have my books" Said Invictus.
"Then...at least let me bring you something from Hogsmeade, a butterbeer or anything" Said Edward.
"Leaving me back to my time is the best gift you could present me, I assure you of that" Said Invictus.
Edward sighed "All right then, I guess I'll be seeing you another day then, happy Christmas Vic" Said Edward.
"Yes another day, goodbye Edward, girls" Said Invictus before leaving.
"Your friend is mysterious" Said Raven.
"And full of secrets" Said Zaara.
"You can say that again" Said Edward watching his friend leave "Oh well, I guess it's only us who'll be going, come on girls" He said, going with Raven and Zaara to Hogsmeade.
"Have you ever been to Hogsmeade girls?" Asked Edward.
"No" Answered Zaara and Raven.
"It's much too crowded and too noisy" Said Raven
"Well then, today's the day you get to go, and what makes you lucky is that you're going with me, no one knows how to have fun like me there" Said Edward, chuckling "And look, we might be more lucky than we thought" Said Edward, pointing at Hagrid who was dragging a tree through the snow "If there's one who can spread cheer and joy more than anyone, it's the friendliest giant in the school, come on let's go say hi" So Edward, Raven, Zaara went to meet Hagrid " Hello Hagrid".
"Oh, 'ello there Edward, 'appy Christmas" Said Hagrid, Hagrid was wearing a red cloak and a coat decorated with jingle bells, more likely he was dressed like Santa Claus.
"Happy Christmas Hagrid" Said Edward, going to hug Hagrid "I see you're already dressed for the occasion" Said Edward.
"Aye, I thought of spreading a bit more Christmas cheer this year, and so I decided that I'd be Father Christmas, ho ho ho" Said Hagrid.
"Wow, that was very good, even I couldn't think of no one better, but what is that tree for? I don't think someone asked for a tree this year" Chuckled Edward.
"This? No, it's for the decorations, 'headmistress Mcgonagall asked to bring some" Said Hagrid.
"Do you want me to help you with it?" Said Edward.
"Oh there's no need, I can carry it, just..." Hagrid had a little difficulty in dragging the tree "It's a bit stuck with snow" Said Hagrid.
"Well, let me help you with that at least" Edward took out his wand and cast the levitating spell on the tree, gently placing it on Hagrid's shoulder "How's that?" He asked, placing the wand inside again.
"Thank ye Edward, I can take it from here" Said Hagrid.
"By the way, I wanted you to meet my friends, this is Zaara and Raven" Said Edward.
"'ello there" Said Hagrid.
"You're a giant" Said Zaara.
"Why yes, I am" Said Hagrid.
"We read that giants are bloodthirsty and eat humans" Said Raven.
"Aye, unfortunately some giants are not all quite nice, like my half brother Dirgah, but I like to think I am one" Said Hagrid.
"Sorry, they're new about meeting others and making new friends, you would've met Invictus too, but he went inside" Said Edward.
"Oh Invictus, aye I remember 'em, he used to come around me hut, ask me about the creatures and animals I have for his studies, how is he?" Asked Hagrid.
"He's fine, but he decided to spend Christmas alone, again, I tried to make him go out with us today, but no success" Said Edward.
"Oh well, I suppose he'd prefer to spend Christmas his own way" Said Hagrid.
"I suppose so" Said Edward.
"Right then, I better get inside too, don't want to keep the children waiting, bye Edward, bye Zaara and Raven, 'appy Christmas" Hagrid waved and went for inside the castle while carrying the tree.
"Happy Christmas Hagrid" Said Edward "All right girls, let's go, I don't suppose you drink butterbeer don't you?" Said Edward.
"We never tried it" Said Zaara.
"You will now, but first we'll go to Honeydukes, and if we're lucky, they might still have some sweets left from Halloween that would suit you" Chuckled Edward.
After Edward took Zaara and Raven to Hogsmeade, they headed for the common room while he went back to the Great Hall, heading for Jack who was as Edward left him, alone at the table.
"Hey Jack, I brought you some butterbeer from the Three Broomsticks" Said Edward, sitting down with him.
"Thanks Ed" Jack took a sip from the butterbeer "So how did it go with Invictus, did you get him to smile finally?" He Asked.
"Not so much as a smirk I'm afraid, I know some people like to be alone, but I didn't think it would be one of my friends, I'm too fun to hang out with" chuckled Edward.
"Technically, you're also a bit too chaotic" Said Jack.
"Right, that's how I have fun" Chuckled Edward, though he soon sighed and frowned "Though I really hoped this time I would hang out with him".
"Come on Ed, don't be sad, it can't be helped, not everyone can be as outgoing as you" Said Edward.
"You are so much like him you know that? He told me the same thing" Said Edward.
"But you know him and I are right" Said Jack.
"Yes I know, but don't expect me to have my hands tied about it, I don't like seeing my friends be alone, especially when I'm out and having fun, I want my friends to share that fun with me too" Said Edward, suddenly Jack started chuckling on his own "What?".
"It's funny that you're all Slytherin on the outside, but on the inside you're like a Hufflepuff" Said Jack.
"Oi, I'm a Slytherin on the inside too, I'm just showing you that not all Slytherin are arrogant and selfish" Said Edward "Speaking of which, where is Rian?" He asked.
"Like the rest of our friends, she left last night for home, it's only you and me" Said Jack.
"Actually I might also leave for home too, I'm just waiting for Rosie to get here so I can take her with me, but until then, I'm staying with you, one of my friends is spending Christmas alone, but I'm not about to let one of my best friends spend it alone too" Said Edward.
"Lucky me" Said Jack, chuckling with Edward, after a short time, Edward's little sister came by.
"Edward" she called.
"Hey Rosie, there you are" Said Edward.
"Hi Jack" Said Rosie.
"Hello Rosie" Said Jack.
"Well, are you ready to go home?" Said Edward.
"No, we're not going home sadly" Said Rosie.
"Why not?" Said Edward.
"Mom just wrote me a letter saying that there's almost a blizzard in our street, so this year's family visit was cancelled" Said Rosie.
"Pity, oh well, next year then, we can still spend it here then you and me, how does going to Hogsmeade later sound?" Said Edward.
"Yay!" Cheered Rosie.
"Did you hear that Jack? Turns out I won't be going home, I'm staying at Hogwarts this Christmas with my sister Rosie, and my only best friend who hasn't left yet, you" Said Edward.
"I hope that won't mean you'll go on with trying your pranks and tricks on me" Said Jack.
"No of course not, how could I do that to you?" Said Edward.
"Edward" Said Jack in suspicion.
"Well, I won't do the extreme ones that is, for you, I'll play the jokes that end up with both of us laughing" Said Edward, chuckling, then sipping his butterbeer.
"Does your brother have to play tricks?" Asked Jack.
"He has been since we were kids, mostly on me at home" Said Rosie.
"In all honesty, I wasn't going to, but this way I can show you that I'm a Slytherin on the inside as well" Chuckled Edward.
After a time that passed, with Edward, Jack and Rosie at the table, Adelaide came passing by.
"Hello everyone" Said Adelaide.
"Hello-" Edward suddenly choke on his butterbeer that he forgot to swallow when he turned to Adelaide, taking another sip of Butterbeer to let it down.
"You all right Ed?" Asked Jack.
"I'm fine, I'm fine, just choked a bit" Said Edward, clearing his throat and standing, Rosie was left giggling "Hey Adelaide, sorry, I didn't see you coming" Said Edward.
"That's okay, Ed, happy Christmas everyone" Said Adelaide.
"Happy Christmas" Replied Rosie.
"Would you like to join us Ade? We're about to go to Hogsmeade in a few" Said Edward.
"No thanks, I'm about to go home, but I wanted to give you this Jack before I do" Adelaide presented Jack with a string with red and yellow crystals, there was a claw-like charm in the center "I heard about your condition, so I made you this a good luck charm, in case it happens again" She said.
Jack held the lucky charm in his hand with surprise "This wasn't necessary of you Adelaide, but thank you very much, I'll wear this all the time, but might I ask you where did you hear about my condition from?" Said Jack.
"Well, Edward told me" Said Adelaide.
Jack sighed "You didn't tell anyone eh Edward?".
"Oh please, I assure you that you can trust Adelaide as much as you can trust me, besides, thanks to that, you got a good luck charm, didn't you?" Said Edward.
"All right, but no one else, thanks again Adelaide" Said Jack.
Adelaide smiled then turned to Edward "Ed, can I speak to you for a moment?" She asked.
"Ah yes yes, of course, excuse me guys" Edward went with Adelaide a few feet away from the table "What's going on?".
"Well you see, I am going home to my family as I said, and my family says I can bring my friends along with me, Corina's already there but..." She bit her lip before continuing "I was wondering if you'd like to come too".
"Me?" Asked Edward surprised "I mean, yes, I'd love to visit your home and see your family, it is the perfect time for it after all" Chuckled Edward.
"All right then, I'll wait for you outside" Said Adelaide and Edward nodded, then she left
Edward returned with a goofy smile to Jack and Rosie "Jack, you may consider yourself lucky since I won't be pranking you, but just for today" Said Edward.
"I can't believe I'm about to ask this but, why?" Asked Jack.
"Adelaide just invited me to her home, so I'll be going with her" Said Edward.
"Oh I see, so I'm safe then from your pranks then, it's a Christmas miracle" Said Jack.
"Don't get your hopes up, it's just for today" Chuckled Edward, then he facepalmed "Oh! Sorry Jack, I forgot that I was supposed to be going with you to Hogsmeade, I'll go tell her that-".
"No no, don't do that, it's fine, go with her" Said Jack.
"Jack I already let one of my friends alone for today, I can't do that to you too, you're the last person I'd leave alone" Said Edward.
"It's all right, I'm used to it, besides, it would be rude if she asked you and you refused" Said Jack.
Edward hesitated for a bit "Are you sure?" Said Edward.
"As every serious I can be, go" Said Jack.
Edward sighed about leaving Jack alone like he did Invictus, but he also wanted to spend time with Adelaide as well, he went to hug Jack before he left "Happy Christmas Jack" Said Edward.
"Happy Christmas to you too" Hugging Edward.
"Watch for Rosie while I'm gone will you?" Asked Edward.
"Sure" Said Jack.
"Well Rosie, we won't be going home, but I'll be going with a friend to her home instead, Jack can still take you to Hogsmeade" Said Edward.
"Can't I go with you?" Asked Rosie.
"I wouldn't mind but I thought you wanted to go to Hogsmeade" Said Edward.
"I can go tomorrow, besides, I really want to meet more of your friends, please?" Said Rosie.
Edward turned to see Jack all alone, nobody with him but a cup of butterbeer, but even so, he smiled and nodded "All right then, come on" Said Edward.
"Yes!" Rosie went with Edward, waving to Jack before leaving and he waved back, until he met Adelaide outside.
"Ready to go?" Asked Adelaide.
"Yes, and I hope it's okay if I took Rosie with me, she really wants to go" Said Edward.
"Hi Adelaide, it's very good to meet you" Said Rosie.
"I don't think my parents would have a problem with that" Said Adelaide, so the three made for Adelaide's home, getting out of Hogwarts and arriving there a few before sundown, her home was a large mansion by the Scottish countryside, with a beautiful garden facing it, when they got there, Adelaide knocked on the door, opening was a man with copper-red hair, fair skin and green eyes like Adelaide.
"Hello dad" Said Adelaide, going to give her dad a hug and kissing his cheek.
"Hello Adelaide, how are you?" Said her dad.
"I'm all right, I just got out of Hogwarts, this is my friend from school, Edward Mystic, this is my dad, Emilien" Said Adelaide.
"Bonjour, monsieur Richelieu" Said Edward, shaking hands with Adelaide's dad.
"Oh Bonjour" Said Emilien.
Adelaide chuckled "It's sundown Edward, not morning" She said.
"Oh right, right, what's French for hello?" Asked Edward.
"It's all right son, you can just say hello in English" Said Adelaide's dad.
"Sorry, good to meet you Mr. Richelieu, this is my little sister Rosie" Said Edward.
"Hi" Said Rosie waving.
"Since it's only Corina and Michael that made it, I thought I could invite Edward too, I hope it's it's all right" Said Adelaide.
"Of course, any of your friends are welcome, come on in" Said Emilien.
Edward and Rosie were very amazed by how the house looked inside, with lots of luxurious furniture.
"Wow" Said Rosie in amazement.
"I know" Said Edward.
"Where's mom?" Asked Adelaide.
"She's in the kitchen making dinner" Said Emilien.
"Ed, while my mom is making dinner, do you want to come to my room?" Asked Edward.
"Yeah, sure" Said Edward.
As they went to the living room, there were Corina and someone else sitting next to her.
"Hey Corina" Said Edward
"Eddie, hey, you made it to the party I see" Said Corina, getting up to greet Edward.
"Yeah, Adelaide invited us" Said Edward.
"This is my boyfriend by the way, Michael" Said Corina.
"I'm Ed" He said, shaking hands with brown-haired boy dressed in black leather with chains and accessories.
"Michael, nice to meet you" Said Micheal.
"Say, you didn't tell me your boyfriend was a rockstar" Chuckled Edward.
"No, I'm just a fan" Said Michael.
"First time I saw him I thought the same thing too" Said Corina, giggling.
"This is Rosie, my little sister" Said Edward.
"Hi" Said Rosie.
"Come on everyone sit down" Said Corina.
Ed Edward then noticed four other children in the living room, two were sitting by the Christmas tree, and two others were sitting on a very fancy-looking couch "Your siblings?" Edward asked.
"Yes, the one sitting on the couch are Alexandra and Iain" Adelaide pointed to Iain, a fair skin boy who was red haired with amber eyes, he had his black hair tied in a ponytail behind his neck, and Alexandra, a pale skin girl with blonde hair in a pixie cut hairstyles and amber eyes, both waved to Edward and Rosie.
"And these are Vivienne and Victoria" Pointed Adelaide to the two girls, playing with toys next to a decorated Christmas tree, Vivienne was similar looking to Alexandra, with a pale skin and blonde hair, but also golden eyes, with her hair just ending above her shoulders, while Victoria, the youngest, had long blonde hair, but she was fair than pale with emerald eyes, they looked very shy to meeting Edward and Rosie.
"Rosie, why don't you stay here with them for a while? Until I and Adelaide are back" Said Edward.
"Okay" Said Rosie, going to sit with Alexandra and Iain.
While Adelaide and Edward went for her room, passing by the many luxurious and fancy furniture as they went on, they stopped by the kitchen where a pale skin woman, with long blonde hair and golden eyes was there "Hello mom" Said Adelaide.
Adelaide's mom, whom was Talia Fairbairn turned "Hello sweetheart, welcome home" She said, hugging and kissing Adelaide's head.
"Mom, this is Edward Mystic, a friend from school" Said Adelaide, Edward "He and his sister will be joining us for dinner if that's all right" She said.
"Of course, I hope you've saved some room in that stomach Mr. Mystic" Said Talia.
"Don't worry, Ms. Richelieu, I may not look like it, but I can eat more than I weigh" Joked Edward.
Giggled Talia and Adelaide "Good then, because I'm making something special tonight, why don't you and Edward run along while I get ready?" Said Talia.
"Ok, come on Edward" Said Adelaide.
"It was good meeting you Ms. Richelieu" Said Edward before exiting the kitchen.
"And you, dear" Said Talia.
As they walked up the carpeted staircase in the center of the house's entrance hall, walking down on one of the second-floor hallways, just stopping on being in front of a white door, with a golden plaque attached to it, decorated with a border of swirling ferns surrounding the cursive letters in the center spelling 'Adelaide', she opened the door to reveal her room, its walls were a pale lilac, there a door overlooking a balcony with translucent, silver satin curtains drawn over the closed balcony doors, right next to it a desk made of oak wood, with a few paper on it, a quill, an inkpot, and desk lamp too, there was also the green flowers that Edward gave Adelaide from the ball where they met, a huge mahogany bookcase lined on the wall, and a four-poster king-sized bed made of ebony wood, it's covers and pillows were patterned with Autumn leaves, and in the center of her room, a couple of colored bean bags.
"Wow, and I thought the living room was amazing" Said Edward.
"Nothing amazing about it, it's only my room" Said Adelaide.
"Still, a fancy room for a fancy girl" Said Edward, Adelaide giggled softly.
The most stunning part of her room, was her memo-board that hung above her desk that were filled with her six Hogwarts letter, one Beauxbaxtons letter, and live pictures of her and others.
"And I suppose this is your album" Said Edward.
"Of me, my family and friends" Said Adelaide.
"There's Corina is some of them" Said Edward, looking at some pictures where Adelaide was with Corina and others with them at Hogwarts "And the rest, your friends?" Asked Edward.
"This was on my third, fourth, and fifth year, that's Michael, Corina's boyfriend, Kiana Archer, and Elliot Victor" Said Adelaide.
Edward then noticed the pictures right to it, but they were about Adelaide being with another guy, laughing, smiling, there was even pictures of them kissing, Edward admitted to himself, he was a bit jealous when he saw them "I'm guessing this is your boyfriend then" Said Edward.
Adelaide sighed "Was my boyfriend, Nicholas Durant" She said.
"Was? Oh so you two aren't- Sorry, I didn't mean to" Said Edward.
"It's all right, it was a mutual break up, he moved to America for Ilvermony school, we both agreed to break up, but he promised to come back after he graduates, and I'm still waiting till he does" She said, going to sit on her bed.
Adelaide didn't show it, but Edward could clearly see that she was sad when Nicholas was mentioned "Now look here you" Edward attempted to cheer Adelaide up by talking to a live portrait of Nicholas as if he could hear him "How dare you leave the prettiest, most beautiful girl in the Wizarding World for a school far away? I'm just god smacked! I cannot even begin to tell you how many rules in the laws of magic and reality it broke, such a crime deserves to being caught by an Auror mind you!" Adelaide hid her laughing behind her hands at Edward's act.
"Now she told me that you promised her that you would be back by your graduation for her, I will be the judge that from now on, and will be waiting to see if you will, but if you don't, I will go as far as to travel to your school at America, and you'll find a snake under your pillow with my regards, do I make myself clear?" Said Edward, Adelaide still laughing.
"There, I think he got that message very well" Said Edward, chuckling while Adelaide couldn't stop giggling "Now, I think that's enough photos for now, let's patiently wait for your mother's guaranteed delicious dinner until it's ready" He said.
"Actually Edward, there is one more picture that wasn't there if you'd like to see" Said Adelaide.
"Sure, what is it?" Asked Edward.
Adelaide took a deep breath before showing Edward, taking a picture from under her pillow, then sitting with Edward on the bean bags, Edward took the picture and saw a woman who very much resembled Adelaide but looked much older, holding a baby in her arms and next to her was Emilien.
"Your mother?" Asked Edward, Adelaide nodded "Wow, you do look a lot like her".
"My dad says that I'm the most out of my siblings that look like my mother" Said Edward.
"He's not wrong you know, you have her eyes, her eyes, even her smile" Said Edward.
"He also says that I act very much like her, but I'm not so sure of that myself" Said Adelaide.
"It's really unfortunate that I didn't get the chance to see her, but I'll tell you this, I'm positive she is the kind, talented, beautiful girl you are now" Said Edward, smiling, Adelaide was smiling too as she placed her hand over his, and her head was leaning towards him more, though before reaching his shoulder, there was a knock at her door.
"Yes?" She said.
Her brother Iain opened the door "Mum says dinner is ready" He said.
"Okay, I'll be right there" Said Adelaide, Iain nodded and closed the door.
"Finally, I thought my stomach was going to explode" Said Edward, making Adelaide giggle "Well, shall we?" He said, she nodded, placed the picture under her pillow again and stood up with Edward.
"After you" Said Edward as he went for the door and opened it for her.
Later before midnight, after Edward and Rosie with the Richelieu family, then saying their goodbyes after that, Edward and Rosie got out of the mansion with Adelaide standing by the door.
"Well, we had fun didn't we?" Said Edward.
"Very, Iain and Alexandra were fun, Victoria and Vivienne were really shy though" Said Rosie.
"Oh well, you do have this certain power to break someone's shyness, maybe next time you will" Said Edward, chuckling.
"It was very good meeting you Adelaide" Said Rosie.
"You too, Rosie" Said Adelaide.
"I guess it's time for us to go, though thanks very much for inviting us to your home for tonight, I had a lot of fun, I mean, we had a lot of fun" Said Edward.
"So did I, I'm glad you were able to come, my sisters also had fun playing with Rosie" Said Adelaide.
"Anytime, and by that I mean, anytime you want us to return the visit, just ask" Said Edward, and Adelaide nodded "I think it's getting rather late, we should head back to school before we're stuck outside, goodnight Adelaide" Said Edward.
"Goodnight Adelaide" Said Rosie waving as she and Edward turned to leave the mansion.
"Oh wait wait!" Said Edward before Adelaide could shut the door "I forgot to give you this" Edward took out his wand and cast a spell "Orchideous!" And a bouquet of green roses bloomed form the tip of his wand, giving them to Adelaide.
"You did already give me flowers before, I still have them" Said Adelaide.
"Well you deserve another one then" Chuckled Edward "And you can consider it as thanks for the invitation and the fun night we had" Said Edward.
Adelaide took the flowers and sniffed them, Adelaide did love flowers and these smelled very sweetly, she then went and kissed both of Edward's cheeks "Thank you" She said.
Edward had a goofy smile that he tried to hide looking down, smiling even more than Adelaide "Well, ahem, don't mention it" He said, lifting his head a bit "I guess we really should be going now, we all have to sleep and I shouldn't be keeping you late, I guess I'll see you after the holidays at school, or the next time you want me to come at your home" Said Edward.
Adelaide nodded "Bye Edward" She said.
Edward waved and then went on his way with Rosie, Adelaide kept looking from her door at the boy who just today became close to her as a friend, she kept a last glance at him before he was out of the mansion, going inside after that.
While Edward walking the street with Rosie, Edward still kept the smile he had from when Adelaide kissed his cheeks, each time he tried to hide them, he just couldn't, he was so happy he got to spend time with Adelaide today that he could fly over the moon "Oooh, you like her don't you Ed?" Said Rosie.
"I do not! I mean, I do like her, as a friend that is" Said Edward.
"And she likes you too" Said Rosie.
"Again, I like her as a friend, and she likes me as a friend, trust me Rosie there is nothing going between us, we're just friends" Said Edward.
"Ed likes Ade! Ed likes Ade! Ed likes Ade!" Started Rosie teasing, running along the streets as she did.
"Why you little, I'll show you, get back here!" Edward started chasing Rosie, eventually grabbing and tickling her, both laughing on their way to Hogwarts.
