Halo: Of Wolves and Wagtails
Episode 11: Uneasy Curiosity
UPLOADED ON 12/4/2020
A/N: Thought I'd try easing the amount of raw action, mix things up a little. Let me know everybody how you liked this chapter and I'll see what to do later and whether or not to do more like this.
[Dead344156: Thanks]
[Reviewed by Bois: Oh nuts, I think I made an error in the lore didn't I? Well I can't fix that now.]
[Blaze501st: That is a very good question, but you'll have to wait to find out. Unless you want me to spoil the story.]
[SPRTN544: Thank you my friend! Depending how well that is received I might do more. Need some tough bad guys to fight after all, so why not deal with more undead?]
-TOKYO ROOFTOPS-
The moon had climbed its way into the skies over the Japanese mega city as it normally would, surrounded by several different clouds but nothing serious loomed on the horizon. Although with all the lights from the city glowing so strongly, only the brightest stars could shine above the city. For Karasuba it was a night unlike any other before, she'd gotten to watch her ashikabi go to work ... it was arousing to see just how skilled he was at killing. To say she was impressed with the results would be an understatement. She had perched herself on the roof of a skyscraper near the area where her soldier boy had been earlier, and she stared straight at the moon while she pondered her emotions.
"I do know how to pick em." Karasuba muttered to herself with the tiniest hint of a smile on her face.
"My oh my, what have we here?" Said a rather sensuous voice.
At the sound of the oddly familiar voice Karasuba whipped around to face her unexpected company. "Kazehana... It's been a long time." The black sekirei narrowed her eyes to their usual half lid and then took a seat on an air conditioning unit that was right beside her. Standing in front of her was a buxom woman with jet black hair, she wore a very short purple Chinese dress that shamelessly revealed her inner cleavage and navel.
"It has been. How have you been fairing~?" Kazehana asked as she leaned her back against a concrete wall while she held a bottle of fresh sake in her right hand.
"Well enough." Karasuba cut her off.
Kazehana chuckled despite the interruption. "Never change have we. Though from where you are looking." Glances at the Police infested building in view. "I can guess you are on the hunt?"
"And what if I am?" Karasuba purred arrogantly while the wind picked up around her, which caused her silver hair to flutter lightly. "It's something to do with my spare time, after all. Minaka hasn't released any weaklings for me to crush yet, so I have to do something to entertain myself."
"Hmmmm. Well considering that it wasn't YOU who massacred everyone in that building, I can guess it may be someone else that you're after?" Kazehana took a swig from her bottle of sake.
"Maybe it is... maybe it isn't." MBI's black dog smirked, her cold smile didn't seem to faze the wind sekirei.
"Hmmmmm…. I know it can't be your doing. Because, A It wouldn't just be the terrorist's dead, and B you would probably enjoy yourself in a zombie apocalypse TOO much~" Kazehana chuckled.
"Ah you know me so well, don't ya Kazehana?" Karasuba snorted, the superiority in her haughty tone was not lost on the wind user. "Humans may be an unnecessary species, but they have their uses..."
"Hmmm if not you then whoooo~?"
"Who indeed? ~I know something you don't~" Karasuba grinned as if she was the cat that ate the canary.
"Oh, there's someone or something that's ACTUALLY more brutal then you are? Do tell." Kazehana was a bit morbidly intrigued by the thought of someone who could be destructive enough to impress Karasuba of all people.
"Oh ... it was great." Karasuba laughed quietly with a visible blush like a demented psychopath.
"I'd bet, you demented psycho. Though with someone this brutal in town, I figure you would be hounding them all over the city." Kazehana raised an eyebrow in curiosity at the lack of a non-stop pursuit.
"I'm... giving them some space for now." Karasuba replied, her blush faded a bit when she recalled events from earlier in the day. "They've earned that much."
"Hmmmm... that's odd, how unlike you." Kazehana was a tad surprised by what Karasuba had said, but she'd file that away for later.
"Tch, I had other things that waste of space Minaka wanted me to do." Karasuba looked away in pretend annoyance, lying through her teeth. This caused the alcoholic wind user to intensify her look of curiosity at the usually very black hearted woman she'd known for years. But the look seemed to irk Karasuba a bit, to which the black sekirei frowned.
"Stop looking at me like that or I'll gut you." She growled in annoyance, which proved to be a clear sign that Kazehana had found something interesting to dig at.
"Fufufu~ I can't help it." The wind sekirei laughed softly in a teasing manner.
"And it's annoying me." Karasuba rolled her eyes.
Suddenly the blush on Karasuba's face returned in full, her pale cheeks had begun to glow a beet red. "Damn it, not now." The black sekirei hissed as she felt her thighs warm up and her special place grew moist.
"Hahahah. I can see you doing the wiggle dance." Kazehana teased the discipline squad leader.
"I AM NOT!" Karasuba shouted in protest. "I'm just cold!"
A hearty laugh came from the wind user. "Pffft oldest excuse in the book."
"Oh, and why do you think I'd be making excuses?!" Karasuba had begun to really show her ire.
"From you no never~" Kazehana eased off the teasing, though she was unapologetic with her words.
"Good answer." The discipline squad leader nodded and calmed down. "Now tell me, why are you back in the city?" She crossed her arms.
A cold autumn breeze blew over the two of them as Kazehana chose her next words.
Another swig of alcohol loosened the wind user's lips for the next bout of verbal sparring. "Oooh just a hunch. With so many weird things I've heard happening around here so much in such a small time I couldn't help but come on by and see how things are." Was the reply from the wind sekirei.
"Aside from the terrorist attack and some space junk that landed in the arboretum, everything has been the same." Karasuba replied, but she quickly bit her tongue. She'd just made a big mistake in giving the lovey dovey windbag more ammo to use against her.
"Hmmmmm~ I see ALOT had happened since I left considering how...mundane things are here." Kazehana tapped a dainty finger to her chin as if she were thinking. "In such a sort time too~"
"Ah yes, it has only been a few days. Which makes this all that much stranger because it feels like it's been months or even years. Although that is how boring things can be around here." Karasuba shrugged.
"Exactly! So Exciting... it's almost as if this string of events is related somehow~" Kazehana said in a totally not suspicious manner.
"... And if they were?" Now it was Karasuba's turn to raise an eyebrow.
"Minaka's hands would all over it to a degree. I don't know about the terrorist part though, as I don't remember him dabbling in BOWs like the other companies when he had us." Kazehana replied, her expression turned to one of deep thought.
"Now that you mention it, Umbrella has been gone for years. I remember the Americans saw to that. Although we are weapons, Minaka just needed us for his insanity." Karasuba hummed but she knew the motives of her employer had no room for the undead.
"Hmmm I just think he's a pervert~ Such beautiful...and sometimes psychotic women and men around." Kazehana teases.
"Now you just reminded me of partly why I despise him like all the other humans on this rock, well except for one..." Karasuba narrowed her eyes in irritation at the reminder of the mad genius, but blushed slightly at the thought of her ashikabi and calmed herself. "But he gives me all luxury and killing I want, so that's why I won't kill him yet."
"Hmmmm? There's a Human you liiiike? ~" Kazehana pushed again to pry answers out of the black sekirei.
"Well ... Uh..." Karasuba stammered in a girlish manner, caught off guard by the verbal jab. This was very unlike the Karasuba that Kazehana had known for many years. "So, what if there is?!"
"OOOOOOH! Someone FINALLY got into your heart huuuh~" Kazehana had her old comrade right where she wanted her, now it was time to press some buttons.
"Don't you dare tell a soul." Karasuba hissed like an angry snake.
"OOoooh I woooon't~ It will be our little secret, hehehe." Kazehana smiled with a gleam in her eyes.
"I mean it wind bag!" Karasuba spat defensively.
"Soooo what's he or she liiiiike~?" Kazehana deflected and pursued the details
"He's ... Perfect. Unlike most of the pathetic humans he's incredibly strong, fast, and he gets his hands dirty. It seems like I found the apex predator of mankind, my perfect ashikabi. Hehe, he came from the stars in that space junk I told you about, so he's not even from this planet!" Karasuba smiled and moaned as she recalled her man's prowess in the capacity for violence. "Plus, he is quite handsome... Those menacing black eyes of his... they're like obsidian gems."
"And he's the one who did all that?" Kazehana motions her head to the police covered building.
"The very same." Karasuba nodded, her cheeks burned with delight at the memory of 6's killing spree. "Watching him work was quite a show for me, he tore through them without any hesitation and showed no mercy."
"Ooooh, so brutal of him." Kazehana remarked.
"You have no idea." Karasuba chuckled in a haughty tone. "He's a warrior, in fact I'd call him a true soldier. And I'm definitely going to pay Matsu back for trying to steal him from me."
"Ohhh? So, our little Matsu has her eyes on him too~." Kazehana smiled at the thought of a dramatic tug of war between the hearts of her former comrades over a man they desired. "A love triangle in the making!"
"If you want to keep your head, stay out of it." The black sekirei wagged her finger at the wind sekirei. "That's the only warning you'll get."
"You'll get nothing from meeee~" Kazehana shook her head.
"Good. Although I will have to be quick about it, if my ashikabi gets there before I do ... things will get messy when I tend to my business with Matsu." Karasuba nodded and stretched her arms.
"And where might that be?" Kazehana hummed.
Karasuba was quick to respond since she knew the wind sekirei wouldn't interfere. "Teito University, I know she's in the medical wing of the school. I made that Haihane and Benitsubasa will meet me there, and we'll be waiting for him."
"Mmmmm~ So you could have been there now, but you're spending time here reminiscing over the violent slaughter of the people in the building and chatting with little old me~" Kazehana crossed her arms over her busty chest.
"I needed time to recover, I've had to do a lot today. A lady needs her beauty rest after all." Karasuba made another unusual excuse.
"Oooooh. So many excuses from you of all people. Are you feeling well? You didn't start drinking booze now did you?" Kazehana tried to pull more information from the cold heart of Karasuba.
"I've had some but I wanted to look good for when I run into my ashikabi again. He and Matsu won't escape me this time, besides I'd been dispatched to crush those terrorists. He took them out for me so I have some break time to plan out how I get my revenge." Karasuba explained.
"Ooooh so you actually DO make plans besides just going in and killing everyone a neighborhood." Kazehana chuckled in a mocking tone.
"It's not about the collateral damage, rather he actually made me strategize. If I'm going to beat him then I need to outsmart him." Karasuba frowned.
"Oh?!" That statement caught the wind sekirei's attention, she'd never expect Karasuba to go through that much trouble just for a human. Perhaps there was something more to the man that Karasuba seemed enthralled by.
"I have to admit, getting him back for humiliating me is going to be ... exciting." Karasuba licked her lips, she was going to dominate her prey when she caught him, provided Benitsubasa and Haihane did their jobs this time around.
"Just don't go destroying the place, there's a nice bar near the school that I like and I'd hate to see it destroyed." Kazehana said with a wink.
"Maybe when I win, I might join you with my ashikabi." She said with a wicked grin on her face, her inner need to dominate the spartan was making itself visible.
"Ooooh? Who are you and what have you done with Karasuba?" Kazehana widened her eyes in surprise.
"What, I shouldn't celebrate my victory? Of course, I'll have to keep him on a leash when I'm done." The black sekirei chuckled evilly.
"Ah never mind, there's the Karasuba I know." Kazehana laughed.
"Anyway, I'd best be off. Do as you wish Kazehana, but stay out of my business." Karasuba said as she stood up and made to walk away.
"Ooooh let me know if you ACTUALLY want to go to a bar!" The wind sekirei hollered
"We'll see." Karasuba shrugged and jumped to another rooftop.
-UNIVERSITY MEDICAL WARD-
Within the halls of the medical ward of the university business carried on in what could be considered normal for a teaching hospital. Students either milled about or were being led around by the doctors that instructed them while nurses were busy taking care of the patients and paper work at the desk. Among the various physicians and other medical personnel as well as the people visiting their loved ones, was a certain group in particular: a wary Kagari, Uzume, a sleeping Matsu, and the mysterious doctor Hanafusa.
Kagari sat right beside Matsu's bed, he watched carefully as the doctor treated Matsu. He knew that Uzume had gone to get coffee herself and was going to bring some back for him, he did not object to the offer. Normally he'd make an effort not to look like he was boring holes into someone but the suspicious vibe he'd gotten from the doctor made it difficult not to. Something that added to his need to watch the actions of doctor was the fact that 6 had seemingly made a deal with the physician, the shady nature of which he was not privy to. Although internally he acknowledged that what 6 had done was his own business, it revolved around his fellow tenant Matsu.
"Pardon me, but are you going to keep staring at me every time I treat my patient?" Doctor Hanafusa politely asked Kagari as he changed Matsu's IV bag.
"Yes, I am, is that a problem?" Kagari replied coldly.
"It is a bit distracting." The doctor said with his polite tone still in use.
Kagari crossed his arms unapologetically. "I prefer to think of it as watching over my … friend."
"Be that as it may, I can assure you that I am giving your friend very good care." Doctor Hanafusa kept his composure and tried to continue his act of politeness, despite the fact that Kagari clearly wasn't falling for the ruse.
"And I'm making sure you give her that care." Kagari jabbed back calmly, his poker face remained stoic as ever. "Drop the act, I remember that you made a deal with 6 to help Matsu. The question is why."
Immediately the doctor's eyes went to a half lid state not unlike that of Karasuba's blood chilling gaze. Such a cold stare set off several alarm bells within Kagari's mind when he noticed the change in demeanor from the physician. "It is true that I do have an agreement with him, but I am under no obligation to tell you about the terms of our arrangement."
Kagari sweated slightly but did not back down from the doctor's challenge. "When it concerns the fate of my friend, I'm pretty sure I should know. If you do anything to harm her then you'll regret it."
"Oh, I have no need to harm my patient, I know that if I did then I'd be torn limb from limb by the man whom I bargained with. And he should be finished with his errand shortly if I am correct." Doctor Hanafusa said with a nonchalant attitude, though he did not underestimate Kagari he knew there was not much threat so long as he did nothing violent. Picking his battles wisely was a valuable skill he'd learned over the course of his career, and this was one he needed to merely play cool. "However, this patient does interest me. I can tell at a glance that she is not human, she is something far more unique… an alien perhaps."
"Don't. You. Dare." Kagari unconsciously flickered sparks from his hands in anger.
Doctor Hanafusa, being the observant man that he was didn't fail to notice the flickering bits of fire on the younger man's hands. "How intriguing, pyrokinesis…" He said with the tone befitting of a mad scientist.
Kagari recoiled at the amount of sinister intent rolling off of the doctor, it was as if he'd awakened a sleeping monster of some sort. Only Miya ever exuded this much of a frightening aura when she was angry, but Hanafusa had an entirely different vibe to his exposed darkness. Whereas the landlady felt like an irritated dragon the doctor felt like a hydra, an ouroboros if that was even possible. "Stay back." The smoldering young man growled, though the sweat rolling down his forehead portrayed a less confident demeanor.
"For your health, I would recommend that you cease the hostility. I may only be human, but I can assure you that should you provoke me … I will enjoy dissecting you." Said the doctor with a frightening grin on his face as he approached Kagari. "I may have taken an oath of do no harm … but then medicine is not always painless."
"Touch me and I will fry you alive." Kagari hissed defensively as he took a step back and summoned a ball of flame in his hand.
"Ah, but can you kill me before I dissect you?" The doctor replied in his bloodthirsty zeal.
"Make a move then." Kagari narrowed his eyes, meeting the doctor's gaze head on with his own in a battle of wills. For a long minute or two the both of them stood there waiting for either of them to make the first error to create an opening, all that could be heard besides their breathing was the sound of Matsu's heartbeat monitor.
Suddenly there a patter of footsteps at the door and the two quarreling parties turned their attention to the door. In a flash the door had opened, standing outside the room was an unsuspecting Uzume who held a tray off fresh coffee in her hands. "Hey guys, I'm back! I brought some coffee! Get it while it's hot and steamy." She said in a bubbly tone as she stepped into the room. "Haaaah man the line was long. It took forever to get this..." She trailed off as she noticed the two fighters in the midst of their standoff. "Am I interrupting something?"
"Yeah... Uzume, we're in the middle of something." Kagari deadpanned.
"On the contrary, I think she's helped us resolve this issue." Doctor Hanafusa smiled; his false polite demeanor returned. "I could use a drink if you would be so kind." He relaxed his stance and looked straight into the eyes of the busty brunette.
"What? You're just going to let this go like that?" Kagari looked at the doctor with an incredulous stare.
"I'm taking the logical approach, a fight between us right now results in a short-term gain and long-term loss for me. I'd love to settle my curiosity but then I'd have an unwanted mess to clean." The doctor explained.
"Ohhh kay." Uzume tilted her head upwards, she felt a bit creeped out by the physician. "But you're getting your own Coffee, doc." The buxom brunette protectively shifted the hot drinks away from the doctor.
"Aww, well that's a shame." The mad doctor feigned sadness at her defense of the caffeinated drinks. "Here I wanted some coffee, don't I deserve it for treating your friend so well?" Doctor Hanafusa pointed to the sleeping Matsu.
"Weren't we about to fight?" Kagari was dumbstruck by the sudden change in demeanor.
"You two were about to fight?" Uzume took a sip her drink while she looked between the doctor and the pyro.
"Your friend, he seemed to think I had some unwelcome intentions for my patient. Then one thing led to another, and here we are." The doctor explained.
Uzume narrowed her eyes in suspicion. "Hmmm...Might wanna go get that coffee now then."
Doctor Hanafusa shrugged. "Perhaps I should, but then I do still have to finish checking on my patient."
"That beeeing…." Uzume twirled her hand, gesturing for the doctor to clarify his words.
"Why your friend Matsu of course. Not to be rude, but your brain is not in your breasts is it?" The doctor joked mercilessly.
"I would be careful if I was you, doc." A pulsing vein showed itself on the brunette's forehead.
"And that right there is how this whole mess began. Both of you are so easily rattled over something so small." Doctor Hanafusa smirked in a triumphant manner. "I dislike having to waste my time by repeating myself, I have no need to disturb my patient."
"Just get going." Kagari growled at Doctor Hanafusa.
"Very well, but I would suggest against antagonizing me any further. In my medical opinion it would be best for your health." Doctor Hanafusa chuckled as he moved to leave the room. Both of Matsu's friends watched closely as he made his exit into the busy ward of patients and medical personnel.
"So, what the heck was all that about?" Uzume looked at her friend with concern on her mind.
"It's that freaky doctor, he's like Karasuba and the professor rolled into one." Kagari replied. The fiery young man frowned in thought as tried to find the words for his feelings on the shady physician. "When he was looking over Matsu, I got defensive."
Uzume frowned and made a tired sigh. "Great a possibly psychopathic doctor..." She groaned in frustration at the precarious nature of the situation. "Does he know about...us? What we really are?"
"He suspects something, it's not hard to after everything that's happened and since he's been examining Matsu. ... And I threatened to cook him alive. That gave him some evidence." Kagari sighed.
Uzume facepalmed. "Kagari... that was stupid."
"I know, but it was better to threaten him than to let him keep being handsy with her. He was going to know something was up either way, he did tell me about what noticed that was different about her." Kagari winced.
Uzume sighed, and quickly glanced around for any hidden cameras or microphones. "Well if he knows something is up at least he won't know everything. I heard something about the last time someone tried to... it didn't end well for them."
"Something tells me that bastard Minaka either isn't on to him yet or he's just watching. Like they're watching each other if that makes sense." Kagari rubbed his chin.
Uzume rubbed her temples. "I swear it hurts my head just thinking about that. But yeah, there's no way that Minaka DOSEN'T know. You know I bet that he probably has a plan ready like he always does."
"If that's true then the doctor probably knows that he knows, he gives off that feeling that he knows what Minaka will do and Minaka knows what he'll do then it's just a waiting game." Kagari opened a window then pulled a cigarette out of his pocket. A quick spark from his fingers lit the relaxing puff stick. "Think about it, he just happened to show up and make a deal with 6 to fix up Matsu right after they beat Karasuba. Then he brought us here instead of the hospital you knew about."
Swirls appeared in the brunette's eyes as she tried to fit the pieces together in her mind. "So, he knows that he knows that he knows about what we know..."
"That's about the size of it." Kagari nodded grimly as he took more puffs out of the dying cigarette in his hand. "We're caught in the middle of something bigger than just Minaka's game, a big shogi or chess match. From what I can tell, it looks like it started when 6 showed up and from, here it'll only get worse."
Uzume groaned and bowed her head in frustration. "I feel like drinking now that I'm thinking about this... Speaking of which…" She took a drink from her paper coffee cup to relax herself.
"Why do you think I'm smoking? And I know I shouldn't be smoking here." Kagari deadpanned as he blew a cloud of smoke out of the window. "With that said..." The pyrokinetic man trailed off with a determined look on his face. "We are going to do something about it, and we will take charge of our own fate."
"Mmm?" Uzume raised an eyebrow mid sip.
"I'm going to kill Minaka." Kagari grunted.
"PFFFFFFFFFFFFTTS" Spits and chokes on her coffee
Kagari didn't falter at all when he looked back at the busty brunette. He wasn't surprised by her reaction to what he'd just said. "I'm not going to do it right now, Uzume."
"Y-y-y-y-you know what he might do if he finds out?! Not only that but you know countless people both rival cooperation's and governments have tried! You have any idea what happened to them?!" Uzume nearly fell out of her chair in surprise at her friend's words, announcing that he would attempt something that seemed borderline impossible. In her mind such a an endeavor was suicidal at its core, only someone with a death wish would try it.
"I've heard the stories Uzume, but if we don't try then we'll end up dead anyway just to have that man laugh over our graves because he wants to play god." Kagari frowned and blew a puff of smoke out of the window.
"I... I know... But you know he has a literal army and that psychopath at his beck and call. She ALONE could wipe out said arm without breaking a sweat!" Uzume's voice was hushed but there was a bit of fear underlined within it. "Even with you being an Elemental it Isn't gonna do much good against her of all people."
"No... But Minaka is playing with fire by pissing off someone who can actually stand up to Karasuba. Her own ashikabi. Not to mention there will be other humans out there who will wing one of the others, and with luck they might join the cause." Kagari smirked.
"I mean... that is still risky. Knowing Minaka, he has plans on plans and I bet he could hold the entire city hostage to get 6 to comply. Everyone's got a price Kagari...just a matter of how much will it take." Uzume tried to explain her thoughts on the matter, a feeling of being trapped grew within her mind.
"That's true, but if I'm going to die then I will not let it be for that psycho's amusement." Kagari snorted.
"I...I'm more worried about... I have an Ashikabi..." Uzume poked her fingers together nervously.
"You found yours? I was under the impression you were still free as a bird." Kagari raised an eyebrow.
"Eheh... No...I uh..." Uzume stammered and blushed like a bashful schoolgirl.
"That's nice for you. I guess I still have to find my own, though I really hope it's a woman." Kagari winced.
"Eheh...well considering mines... a woman...I'm sure you'll find someone, ahem." Uzume tried to tip toe around the issue.
"I just don't want to trade ... my parts for others, and I'm NOT gay." Kagari shivered at the thought of changing from one gender to another, or something far worse ... getting stuck in between being a man or a woman against his will.
"I-I-I-I-I'm not saying you are! You will surely fine a woman for you!" Uzume panicked with beads of sweat forming on her forehead.
"Good. I do hope you're right, but that aside I know I don't have long. Last I heard when I was examined, the adjuster told me that my body is slowly tearing itself apart. So, if I don't find an ashikabi soon then it won't be pretty." Kagari sat down on the chair beside Matsu's bed and took a final drag on the cigarette.
"Well you're not gonna...explode right?" Uzume rubbed the back of her head.
"That's a big possibility." Kagari said bluntly as the cigarette went out.
Uzume's eyes went wide in shock. "Eh...EEEEEH! Then I am gonna find you a WOMAN! I don't want to see you explode! The least you can do is explode in Minaka's general vicinity!"
"Really? Let's hope that you do then." Kagari chuckled.
Uzume sighed. "Least I can do. Though Your gonna have to come along. See if ya have any... urgh how do I explain it...feelings or heart racing. Lovey dovey stuff."
"I think I understand. But why do you think I work at a host club then? Granted I'd never asked about what to look for." Kagari replied.
"Let's start from there. WHO exactly do you look for?" Uzume rubbed her chin.
"That's a good question, certainly not someone underage. Someone ... cute. Though I'm more experienced with escorting mature women." Kagari leaned back in the chair and thought hard about the criteria.
Uzume hummed and drummed her fingers on the side of her coffee cup for a moment. "So, a Milf?"
Kagari coughed when he choked on his own spit. "Uh, perhaps?"
Uzume had begun to sweat again, her hair grew a bit wild in fear of possibly angering the fire user. "I-I-I-I mean it could be an older girl!"
"Well I have looked at Minaka's ex-wife, Sahashi Takami. She's one option, I don't really feel a connection to her but I wouldn't object to bonding with her if she didn't mind being with me." Kagari shrugged.
Uzume whistled in surprise at the apparent ambition on Kagari's mind, he seemed to have balls of steel from her perspective. "Wow planning to kill Minaka and steal his wife... sure, but you're not gonna try to take over his company as well?" She Joked with a big smile on her face as she considered the possibility. "Kagari Enterprises...eeeeh not a good ring... Maybe Kagari Cosmetics...Noo sounds like Umbrella..."
"Hehehe, well I wouldn't want it anyway. I'd just be happy with not blowing up, if she did wing me then she could take it." Kagari rubbed the back of his head.
"Heh, well any OTHER options besides his ex? Any female you see walking around? I know practically anyone could wing us... but it's something special when you are with that person and your heart skips a beat." Uzume tried to explain the feeling of being winged to her friend.
"It's hard to say really, I wouldn't object to someone younger." Kagari hummed.
"Hmmm. And No luck as a Host, right? Have you thought of "Wowing" the ladies? Pretend to be a magician!" Uzume raised a finger when an imaginary lightbulb appeared over her head.
"Not my style." Kagari shook his head.
"Eeeeeh...Hmmmm..." Uzume paced about the room in thought to find a solution to Kagari's personal problem. "I doubt you would ever go onto a dating website...you're at a club so you're bound to find someone... so long as they're not drunk and accidently wing you."
"That's something I'm hoping to avoid, getting stuck with someone at random." Kagari raised a finger to add emphasis to his point.
"Eheh...yeaaah...I feel bad for the ones who had that happen on them... or forced..." Uzume pitied the few who'd been released alongside their group that had been winged by less than pleasant humans.
"Exactly, and I don't intend to be one of them." Kagari huffed.
"Alright you want a cute girl or woman, must be mutual, anything else? Like are you picky?"
"So long as she isn't a bitch." Kagari shrugged.
"Pffffft alright that's like...40% clean cut. Big chests like mine?" Uzume squeezed her own breasts as an example.
"Sure... If that's possible." Kagari chuckled.
"Hahah. Hair color you're not very picky about. Big chests. Not a total bitch. Cute. Alright think we got a game plan." Uzume gave her make friend a thumbs up in joy.
"Sounds like it, but I'll settle for a small chest if everything else falls into place." Kagari played along with Uzume though secretly he didn't care so long as it wasn't an ugly hag or stuck up bitch.
"Hehehe right, right... So, have you got things handled here? Because I would really hate to walk out of here and find the hospital exploding into flames." Uzume half joked as she asked her question.
"I'm not too sure really, but we both know this place won't be safe for long. Karasuba will find it and we will have to get Matsu out of here, I can't even buy time to run back to Miya's by myself. That's if I have to carry Matsu and run away." Kagari furrowed his brow.
"Hmmmm...Then I'll hang around for a bit longer I guess." The brunette shrugged.
-MEANWHILE-
"Are you SURE there at this hospital? We been to 2 so far! And they think were cosplaying!" The Pinkette says to her gloomy partner
"I'm pretty sure this time, Benitsubasa." The silver haired girl said coolly.
"You sad that at the last one...urgh." Benitsubasa walked up to the front desk, she wasn't really in the mod to play games but she decided that scaring the receptionist a bit might get her some amusement. "Hello, we're looking for a friend of ours. She's a bit short, cute looking, and has breasts that make a woman jealous."
The receptionist gulped when she looked at the two MBI enforcers. Her blood had practically frozen when she locked eyes with the bubblegum haired brawler. "O - oh, w - well... You might need to be more specific miss. A name please, if you're here to visit a patient then I need to know who you're looking for."
"Oh...uh... her name's Matsu!" The pinkette snapped her fingers.
"I'll... Check for a patient with that name." The receptionist said as she frantically began clacking her fingers on the keyboard. A large red warning label appeared immediately on the screen, the patient was listed as secure and the recommended course of action was to call for the physician. "Ah... She's on the next floor on the far side of the ward. It seems the exact room number seems to be missing from the record." Said the frightened woman as she typed a message that went straight to the phone of the physician assigned to the mysterious patient.
"Oh. Weird. Thanks anyways we'll have a look around for her." Benitsubasa was none the wiser of what had just occurred right under her nose.
"Of course! Have a nice visit!" Sweat beads poured down the forehead of the receptionist as the two deadly beauties walked away.
"That went well. Here I thought I might have to strangle someone if she wasn't here." Benitsubasa sighed with a relaxed smile on her face.
"Are you the two who have requested to speak with my patient?" Said a voice from nearby.
Both girls turned around to see a young doctor approaching them, in his hand was a cup of fresh black coffee. "And you are?" Haihane asked the man.
From what they could see, the doctor was a young man of Japanese heritage, his blonde hair was styled similarly to a bob cut but it seemed somewhat unruly with a somewhat bedraggled style, and the name on his tag was Doctor Hajime Hanafusa. A cold look hung in his eyes, like a butcher ready to cut into a slab of meat. Such a vicious stare reminded both of the enforcers all too well of someone they vehemently feared and respected, their leader Karasuba.
"The attending physician for the medical department, and depending on your next words this can go several ways. Now that I have answered your question, the polite response would be to answer mine." Doctor Hanafusa said in a neutral tone as he sized up the two girls in front of him.
Both sekirei narrowed their eyes in anger, this human had no business telling them what to do or so they believed. "We're here to take Matsu back to MBI for theft." Said Benitsubasa in a stern tone.
"That's not going to happen, my patient has to rest after such a long day of stress." Doctor Hanafusa replied with a confident smirk.
"We can have our boss compensate you or something but Matsu is coming with us, so move it." The pinkette growled.
"Very well, if you want to see my patient, you'll have to get through me. I was hoping to do some dissection today." A wicked smile grew on the doctor's face.
"...Are you ok?" Both girls tensed up in discomfort at the man's expression.
"Oh, I've never felt better." The doctor took a fighting stance and positioned himself in the way of the girls. Benitsubasa and Haihane looked at each other for a brief moment and then turned their gaze back at the doctor. Confusion could be seen on their faces in regards to the doctor appearing as if he were insane.
"You're kidding right? Listen bub, get lost or you're dead." The pinkette clenched her fist in rising anger.
"I don't know red, are we allowed to hurt civilians?" Haihane glanced at her comrade in arms out of concern for any punishments they might receive from the CEO.
"Haihane, I've had my fill of bullshit today. If we need to kill him, then so be it." Benitsubasa spat.
"Whether or not we fight is up to you, all you have to do is walk away." Doctor Hanafusa chuckled as he stretched in preparation for battle against the two enforcers. "But if you insist, I think I'll begin your dissection. This will be nice."
