"Ok, that about does it for maintenance." I said, backing away from the suit and looking it over. "Hey, Laura, are you finished with your maintenance on your I.S.?" I asked, turning to look towards her station. "If not, I wouldn't mind helping... you..." I said, taking notice that Laura was missing. "Monika, track Laura!" I called out as I face palmed.

We were supposed to do maintenance on our suits and take them for a test run on a team practice run, and she up and left. "Laura is making her way towards the training grounds, it appears she wants to fight Orimura." Monika said, with me looking at the suit.

"Monika, start up the MKVI." I said, watching as it opened up for me to enter.

Later

Entering the training grounds, I hovered over the ground just as Laura had fired a shot at Ichika. "Laura, this will be your only warning, stand down!" I warned, with Monika warning the staff on the attack on a student. "If you do not stand down, I will put you down!" I added with her turning her gun towards me.

"Attention students, what is going on down there?!" A random teacher called out, with me having a stare down with Laura.

"You win this round, for now!" Laura said as she deactivated her I.S. and walked off.

Landing on the ground, I walked over to Ichika and Charles. "You two ok?" I questioned, with them nodding. "She was supposed to be with me, but she snuck off, sorry about that." I said, holding my hand out to them, with Ichika taking it.

"No worries, at least no one was hurt." Ichika said, with me nodding.

"Is that the Famous MKVI?" Charles questioned, with me looking at him. "I've only seen video or images of it, never in person." Charles said, with me nodding.

"The one and only." I said, giving a two finger salute. "Anyways, I have to get this back to the lab, I'm not really allowed to use it here without permission." I said, taking off, knowing I was going to get in trouble as the girls started walking over.

Later

"WHY DO YOU HAVE TO DRAG ME BY MY EAR OF ALL THINGS!?" Laura yelled as I dragged her by her ear back into the lab to do matnance on her I.S. Unit.

"Because you keep running AWAY!?" I yelled back, letting her ear go and bopping her over the head. "Monika, lock down the lab!" I called out, with the entire room getting locked down, shocking Laura as she didn't know what was going on at first, then turned to me.

"You used your AI to lock down the lab so that I couldn't escape!" She said, with me nodding.

"Yep, now lets get to work!" I said, taking off my school coat, leaving me in a white tank top. "Now, from my scans earlier there was a problem with the core, I need you to eject it so that I can get a better look at it." I said, getting a humph from her as she did just that. Looking over the core physically, I pugged my watch into the I.S. and started doing scans on it. That's when it started to confuse me. 'That's really odd, the core its self is fine, but my earlier scan of it showed that it was unstable.' I thought with narrowed eyes.

"Well, is there something wrong?" Laura questioned as she stepped over to me.

"It would be safe to remove the core and make some adjustments, my earlier scan showed that it was unstable but now there's nothing." I said as I looked at her, seeing her looking over my arm at the data.

"When did you do a scan last?" She questioned, with me looking back at the data.

"When you were planning to fight Ichika, I scanned you to see if you would attack, and if you did I would of powered you down." I said, reaching up and removing a bug. "I had this planted just in case." I said, shocking her as she took it and looked it over.

"Its so tiny, no bigger than my pinky nail!" She said, putting the two together. "No, smaller, and this can shut down my I.S.?" She questioned, with me nodding.

"Any I.S. really." I answered, removing the core and walking over towards the table and setting it down. "I used to be able to hack the I.S. unit by plugging into it like I did just a few seconds ago, now I don't need to." I said, starting to remove the outer layer to the core and started adjusting it. 'This core isn't normal, but it looks like it was made this way on purpose, maybe someone wanted to kill her, or maybe there was something else entirely.' I thought as I started putting it back together. "Here, put this back in and give it a start!" I said, handing it over to Laura, who made her way back to her I.S. unit and installed the core.

Hopping into the I.S. unit, she started it up, or so it would seem. "I cant move, what is going on?" She questioned, confusing me as I walked over to her and plugged in, only the scans were completely off the charts. "What did you do?" She questioned, hopping out and glaring at me, where everything went back to normal.

"I found the problem. I said, looking at her. "You are making the I.S. unit unstable." I said, shocking her at what I said. "I don't know why, its almost as if its trying to reject you. I.S. units are meant to do that if they are used without a stabilizer, core and power junction. "The core is fine, open the power junction for me." I said, walking back over to the table and picking up a tester screwdriver.

Walking over to her, she had just opened it and I started pocking around, with me getting no power, which was strange as it did run. "Why are you just poking at it, do you not know what you are doing?" She questioned with a glair, with me glaring back at her.

"This is a testing screwdriver, its used to find power." I said, showing her the light on the end. "See this, when it touches something with power, it lights up." I said, poking my watch and giving her an example, with it glowing green. "Now, your I.S. unit on the other hand." I said, poking it and getting nothing. "Isn't showing any power." I said, with her nodding. "Its strange, but there might be something missing here that you didn't know about." I said, pulling out my phone and dialing a number.

After a few moments, I got an answer. "Hi, Hi, Da-Chan!" I heard and placing her on speaker. "What can I help you with?" I heard, with me smiling as she was willing to help.

"I'm trying to find out why this third generation I.S. unit isn't showing any signs of power, I've used the Testing Screwdriver and nothing. The core appeared to be unstable but I've already finished that, but shortly after the I.S. unit wouldn't move. Got any hints?" I asked, getting a laugh from her.

"I'll help you if you will help me?" She questioned, making me look at the phone. "I appear to be missing something for my project, and you are the only one who can tell me what it is!" She said, with me stopping and thinking back to what that was.

"Oh, you mean that project!" I said once I remembered. "Ok, what do you got so far?" I asked, taking her off speaker and placing it against my ear, with me nodding as she spoke. "Ok, its not what you're missing, its what you are using with the core. It's dangerous, but can be stable if you adjust the power converter to the maximum and then use the-Oh, you got it, cool, now about my project." I said, with me nodding. "I see, so that's what's going on." I said, placing my hand on my chin. "That is bad, and seeing the danger it would cause could eventually kill the pilot." I said, looking at the data on my arm. "Ok, I'm going to have to take her apart and replace some of the insides all together to keep this thing in one piece." I said, nodding once more. "Thanks, hope you get that project working, and be sure to visit soon!" I said, hanging up and started taking it apart.

"What are you doing, and what did you mean that I could of been killed?!" Laura yelled as I worked on removing it all together.

"Germany was experimenting with something they shouldn't, and because of that, I have to adjust the entire I.S. to your body standards." I said, removing a chunk of it and setting it aside. "It was adjusted to your old body modifications, not your current and because of that, you could literally of been eaten alive." I said, confusing her at what I was saying. The entire thing is unstable, so we have to remove what is causing it to go unstable in the first place and replace it with something else, and what I have in mind is pretty stupid and the safest way to do this." I said, stopping and reaching into my pocket and pulling out some money. "Here, use this and go buy some gum, and chew on three of them at once!" I said, with her taking it and storming off.

Later

"Ok, that should do it." I said, stepping down from the exterior as Laura walked over with a mouth full of gum, looking to have a hard time chewing. Holding my hand out to her, she spit it out, with me going around and climbing up to the ion cannon.

"What are you doing?" She questioned, with me pilling out a cord and putting the gum inside it and then removing it after a few moments, pulling out some black gunk. "What is that?" She questioned once I tossed the gum into the trash behind her.

"One of the many things I picked up from my Repulser Gloves, I have to keep them clean at all times, doing so will also increase the power instead of dampening them." I said, plugging the cord back in. "The ion cannon should be at least five to ten percent stronger the next time you fire, but with how big it is, you will have to clean it every... two or three days after each use." I said, climbing down. "Monika, lets put her back together." I said, where the machines started putting it all back together while I walked over to Laura and scanned her with my watch, confusing her as I started messing with it, showing her new data and started importing the files into the I.S. unit. "That should do it." I said, with us watching the machines fully putting the I.S. together. "Hop in and we can run a few more tests." I said, walking over to the desk and taking a seat while she got in. "Ready?" I asked, pulling everything up on the computer.

"Ready!" She called out, with me giving her a thumbs up. She powered up and started walking around like everything was normal. "So far everything seems the same." She said, with me nodding, but this time the I.S. unit wasn't trying to reject her but accepted her.

"Everything is stable at the moment." I said, with rings popping up around the area. "Fly threw the rings, we're going to test the thrusters, before we move into the target practice!" I said, with her taking off without another word.
