- Two years later -
As Zareah walks across the stage to collect her diploma, she hears her friends cheering for her and her little sister yelling 'Go Mama'. She thinks about how much has happened since she and Seraphina first came to town two years ago.
After the murder of her father when she was just ten years old and then having to leave home because of her mother's addictions three years later, Zareah never imagined that this would be her life. That her life could be filled with so much love and happiness. After collecting her diploma, Zareah smiles as she throws her her cap in the air.
When she stepped off the stage, she was almost knocked off her feet by Seraphina, who thrusted her whole body at Zareah, hugging her tightly. Up until that moment Cheryl had been holding Seraphina back from running up on the stage.
"I'm so proud of you, Mama." She told Zareah
Zareah hugged her sister back, "I'm proud of you too, Chipmunk."
Seraphina was eight years old now, and she was so smart. She was going into fourth grade after skipping second grade.
Cheryl walked up to her wife, kissing her on the lips, "I love you."
"I love you too." Zareah replied after kissing her wife back.
Last year Zareah got legal custody of her sister and she got married to Cheryl that Christmas, two months after she had turned eighteen. That was the day that Seraphina called Cheryl 'Mommy'.
Zareah was hugged and congratulated by her friends: Betty, Jughead, Archie and Veronica.
She's so glad that she has these people in her life. Zareah loves her friends and the relationship that they have with Seraphina. To Sera, Betty and Veronica are Aunt Betty and Ronnie. Jughead and Archie are Uncle Juggie and Archie, even FP has a place in Seraphina's heart as Grandpa.
Not to mention that Zareah and Veronica own a successful dance studio together.
Zareah smiles watching Seraphina bounce around between her 'Mommy', Aunts and Uncle.
The only word that could describe how Zareah feels about her life is: Blessed. She has all she could ever want.
