Disclaimer: I don't own Inuyasha.

The days were going by pretty slowly. At times, the days felt like a continuation of each other—with each day the same. If he wasn't sleeping, he was eating, if he wasn't doing either of the two he was reflecting on his current predicament.

That didn't mean Inuyasha completely minded it. No, he didn't mind. He was used to doing things like this whenever his old group and him weren't fighting demons and weren't looking for sacred jewel shards. It was during those times when Kagome went back to her own era. During these times, Inuyasha would sleep, eat or go and see what his friends were up to. Yes, sometimes he would train so he would be better in battle, but whenever he wasn't training, he was doing things like this.

However, unlike those times, Inuyasha didn't have anyone to check up on. No Shippo to bother, No Miroku or Kaede to talk to, and No Sango or Kagome. Not even any random villagers who would sometimes ask for his help in doing certain tasks.

It was just himself, barely Kanna who just came to deliver him food and pick up the empty trays, a healer and midwife during their once every two weeks visits, and if he was ever so 'lucky' the bastard himself whenever he decided to grace the InuHanyou with his presence usually in the terms of sex or just to 'check up on him'. Other than that, Naraku didn't really come by often.

Inuyasha made a sound as he felt a sharp kick in his womb. He smiled as he fondly rubbed his pregnant belly.

Oh yeah, how could he ever forget about his child. The one who would wake him up in the middle of the day with his sudden movements. Sometimes, Inuyasha wondered what could the child be doing in there that would cause so much movement.

Inuyasha sighed as he stopped rubbing his round belly. It's been three months since he last tried to kill his unborn child and three months since he vowed not to do so again. In these three months, Inuyasha kept true to his word by making sure he ate all of his food and didn't act out when at times he really just wanted to punch Naraku in the face whenever he came in the room with his condescending smirk.

Naraku seemed to really think that he had succeeded in breaking him. But really, Inuyasha was waiting for the child to be born so he could run away, but not before beating the living hell out of Naraku first. Then he would go somewhere alone and raise the child by himself. 'I think that this is the best choice that I have. It's the only one that guarantees both my freedom and the child's life.'

Suddenly he felt a familiar demonic presence approaching his room before it stood outside his room door. Inuyasha watched as Kagura slid open the door and entered the room.

Inuyasha watched as Kagura slid the door shut and stood against it.

"So, it seems that you enjoy being pregnant now?" Kagura sneered, "Why the sudden change of heart?"

"Is that what you really came all this way for?" Inuyasha sneered back, "Well I hate to disappoint you Kagura, so why don't you just take a hike and crawl back into the place you came from."

Much to Inuyasha's annoyance, Kagura only chuckled at that.

"I'm glad to see that you still have your feist." Kagura said, as she began to casually open and close her fan, "Does that mean you still plan on escaping somehow despite being heavily pregnant now?" Not getting anything but a glare in reply from the InuHanyou, Kagura continued. "Obviously, you can't do that right now, which must mean you plan to do so after your pregnancy ends."

A little taken back by how easy his plan was realized by the wind sorceress, Inuyasha growled, "How in the hell did you find that out Kagura?"

"It's not that hard to figure out what you're thinking Inuyasha." Kagura said, her tone on the thin line of mockery and informing. "Even a simpleton could figure what you're planning just by taking a look at the situation."

Choosing to ignore the insult that the wind sorceress had directed at him, Inuyasha thought, 'Damn it. That must mean that Naraku already knows about my plan and probably has already come up with a way to foil it. Am I really that easy to read?'

Kagura watched him for a bit before she continued, "Luckily for you, I got a better plan." Immediately catching the InuHanyou's attention as soon as those words left her mouth. "Naraku is currently out on an errand and won't be back for sometime, which means he's not watching your actions through Kanna's mirror since she's here. This leaves you with the perfect opportunity for you to escape now."

As good as that sounded, Inuyasha was skeptical, "What's in it for you Kagura? Why in the hell would you ever help me?"

"Under normal circumstances," Kagura said, turning her attention back to her fan as she casually opened and closed it. "I wouldn't help you even if you begged me to, but it's weird seeing you like this—pregnant and for the most part, quietly putting up with Naraku's control over you. I rather have you being your former self against Naraku, over the you now."

"Naraku must be itching to find an excuse to punish me over, if he sent you all the way over here to 'help me' escape," Inuyasha said, narrowing his eyes in suspicion at the wind sorceress. "Well, Naraku could go fuck himself because I'm not going anywhere."

"You stubborn fool!" Kagura growled, shutting her fan in her hand as she gripped it in her hand, "I'm trying to help you escape, not trying to get you punished!"

But Inuyasha wasn't buying it, "Why are you so scared of getting punished anyway?" Kagura jeered, "Have these past three months turned you into a spineless coward who is nothing more than a shell of their former self?"

"Fuck you Kagura." Inuyasha said, giving her a dark glare, "I'm just sick and tired of giving Naraku the satisfaction of inserting his dominance over me through his punishments. I know he gets off on it, so fat chance. Besides, who says that I'm not the same person that I was before I was kidnapped and forced in here by Naraku? I'm still the same Inuyasha you have always known and fought with, and I'm sure as hell not going anywhere."

"But allowing Naraku to have his way with you is still giving him the satisfaction of dominance over you." Kagura shot back, "All you're doing is playing into his hand until he grows bored and decides to kill you. Don't you know him well enough to understand him by now Inuyasha?"

"I'm not a fool Kagura." Inuyasha said, tore his eyes away as he reflected on the wind sorceress's words. " I already know that."

"Che, you could've fooled me half breed." Kagura said, "All I know is that if you don't take the chance now to escape, who knows whether or not you'll get this chance again. Like I said, I'm willing to look the other way and help you just this one time."

Inuyasha looked back at the wind sorceress with conflict reflecting on his features. "It's not that Kagura, it's just that I don't really have anywhere to go. I don't know where to go and Naraku would probably find me again in a matter of time. Besides, I'm not alone anymore."

"Aren't you just proving my earlier point about you being too much of a coward to take chances?" Kagura answered, "Why don't you ask those friends of yours? I'm sure that despite everything that went down with the whole Kikyo situation if they see you pregnant like this, they'll be sure to run to your rescue and will protect you from Naraku. And what do you mean that you're not alone anymore? You still are. I'm just offering to help you this one time, so don't worry about me."

"It's not that Kagura. I'm pregnant. It's not just me that I have to worry about, there's also the child that's growing inside my womb!" Inuyasha shot back in frustration, " I can't just recklessly escape while with a child. What if something goes wrong and I end up accidentally killing this child in the middle of it all?"

"Then let it happen!" Kagura stated, "Don't tell me you actually care for this child. The same child that is chaining you down to Naraku! That group of yours would—"

"No they would not!" Inuyasha yelled, cutting the wind sorceress off, "If they didn't believe me when I told them and even pleaded with them to believe me that I wasn't the father of Kikyo's child and I didn't have sex with Kikyo in the first place, what makes you so sure they will help me out now? They are the ones who left me in the state that Naraku found me in when he tried to kill me. Hell, they are so comfortable with my death, they just moved past it and kept themselves busy by caring for the very woman who caused my predicament in the first place. Nobody asked questions and nobody stayed by my side to hear me out. They just all believed what they wanted to believe and cast me out the first chance they got."

Kagura didn't know what to say to that and kept quiet.

"There's nobody that I have left in the world. It's just myself and this child." Inuyasha said, touching his round belly as he gazed down at it, "And I'm all this child has. If I go ahead and recklessly endanger this child's life all for a plan that may not even work, I would've let this child down and I'll have to live with that for the rest of my life with no way to make it up."

Reflecting on the InuHanyou's words, Kagura remained quiet for a few moments, before she spoke again, "That child really means that much to you, doesn't it?" Inuyasha's actions were enough to answer her question, "So that's it huh? So you're sticking to escaping after your pregnancy ends plan?"

Instead of giving the wind sorceress an answer, Inuyasha kept quiet.

Taking that as a yes, Kagura sighed and as closed her eyes fell back on the door. She remained like that for a few moments before opening them back up, "You must have been mixed with a special kind of stupid, half breed. I have never met anyone quite like you before. Well since that's your final decision, I hope you don't expect me to help you whenever you decide to act out on your so-called 'plan'."

"Keh." Inuyasha snorted, "Don't worry. I wasn't counting on it."

Kagura smirked as she turned around to open the door. "Take care of yourself Inuyasha. You'll need it."

As Kagura turned to open the door to leave, Inuyasha called out to her, "Kagura." Causing the wind sorceress to stop in her tracks, "Despite everything I said, I appreciate your help. Thank you."

Kagura whistled as she smirked in amusement, "Wow. I never thought I would see the day. Who knew you had it in you?"

"Don't worry, because you'll never hear me say those words to you again." Inuyasha said with a smirk of his own, as he turned his head away from, "Now get out of here, I'm getting tired of smelling your stench."

Her smirk never leaving her face, Kagura just shook her head in amusement and left the room.

Inuyasha turned his attention back to his pregnant belly. 'I just turned down the chance to finally escape, but I wonder was it wise of me to do that? What if I don't get another chance to do so?' Inuyasha sighed, as he laid back against the wall and looked up at the ceiling. 'I guess we'll have to wait and see when a better opportunity will come up again.'

Feeling the child give a kick to his belly, Inuyasha hummed and continued to rub it.

Somewhere far away from the Castle, the scene of Inuyasha rubbing his pregnant belly was reflected on a body of water. Naraku narrowed his eyes as the scene suddenly switched to Kagura walking into the room where 'Kanna' was sitting with her back against the wall and the mirror on the floor. Kagura stood at the door watching this 'Kanna' before walking back out and closing the door.

As Kagura walked down the hall, she passed by a room whose door was closed. For the reason that there were plenty of rooms like that in Naraku's castle, Kagura simply passed by the room without a second thought. However, had she stopped to open the door of the room and take a look inside, she would've seen the real Kanna towering over a small bucket full of water. And on the surface of the water appeared Naraku's face peering across the room through the reflection of the water.

"Was that Kagura?" Naraku asked, turning his attention back to the void incarnation, who only gave a nod in reply. A dark smirk appeared on Naraku's face, "Good that means she hasn't caught on yet. It's a shame that she hasn't realized that the 'Kanna' she saw in the other room was merely just a reflection of you. Had she actually gone into the room and touched you, she would've seen that it was a fake and nothing more."

On his side of the mirror from where he was, Naraku stood over a large body of water that showed him Kanna's face looking back at him. With a wave of his hand, the scene changed back to the InuHanyou who was looking out of the small barred window that was near the top corner of the wall.

"So, Inuyasha is still planning to escape and Kagura wanted to help him to do it today while I'm out of the castle." Naraku said, summarizing what he just saw, " While I must say that I did expect Inuyasha to still have a plan or two up his sleeves, I never expected Kagura to offer her assistance. What a faithful and loyal incarnation that I have."

"What do you plan to do with them, Naraku?" Kanna said, appearing on the screen.

Naraku chuckled in amusement, "For now, nothing. I'm going to simply let things play out as they are. Who knows, I think I'll even play along. Besides, I think the most important thing is to make Inuyasha realize how truly vulnerable he is in my hands." Naraku said, showing an open palm before he made his hand into a tight fist.

Yeah, this chapter was supposed to be out earlier this week, but I had a hard time writing out the last scene. Besides that, I also had to get some editing done.

So great news, I already have the next chapter written. I just have to do some editing for it before I release it. I wrote this chapter and the next one this past weekend and man am I ever tired. I spent the entire weekend just writing away and watch the anime.

After I finish editing the next chapter and post it, I'll be taking a break from this story for a bit. Don't worry, it won't be like last time.

kayer713, amekjr115, Tenzi, isabelneira333g, and tsuki I'm glad that you're enjoying the story. Thanks for your reviews. Your reviews and other reviewers were some of the things that kept reminding me during my time away that people are reading this story. Thanks. I'll work hard to finish this story. At least, I hope so.

Thanks again!
