The next morning as they were heading towards the guild she was walking slowly. Even though she didn't want to admit she was sore all over. Her body screamed at her every step she took. The dragon side of him had done his own damage to her and even though she didn't blame Laxus she knew he felt bad as he had kept himself at a distance since this morning. As everyone gathered around Lucy was dragged off by Cana. "So, Lu are you gonna tell us what happened?" "What do you mean?" Cana grinned as Levy sat down while Cana shoved Lucy in a seat causing her to wince. "Well I can tell you and Laxus did the deed so I want the details." Lucy turned so red she could have rivaled Erzas' hair. "Cana do you have to say it like that?" asked Lucy. Levy and Cana laughed as Lucy covered her face. "So, tell us Lulu, how was he?" asked Levy. "Yea Lucy better than any other guy you've been with?" asked Cana. "Cana! I haven't been with anyone else," said Lucy. "What!" they both said shocked. "No way you mean you were a virgin? Shit." Cana sat back and shared a look with Levy as Lucy looked between the two of them. "What? Is something wrong?" "Not exactly Lulu. You see Laxus was well known for many things in this guild. One of which is his um… how do I put this…" "Jeez Levy just say it. He's known for his large dick. Most women that he has been with have not been virgins and a good thing too. That explains why you walked in so slowly and even winced when I pushed you down." "Yeah I never really had any real luck with guys so I never pursued them," said Lucy lightly.
They talked for a while longer until she said she needed to look something up in the library and left the two. Walking down the stairs she leaned against the table in the library. "Great now Cana and Levy know everything and will probably give me a hard time if Cana doesn't spill it to the entire guild first," she sighed. She heard someone laugh and turned to see Gajeel. "I don't think you need to worry about that Natsu already heard everything and told Erza who is currently out back trying to defend your honor," he said. Shaking her head, she turned around again. "Figures they will never change," she said while browsing the shelves. Walking down the stairs Gajeel looked at her intently and sniffed the air. "You smell different." "Gajeel! Don't say that!" shouted Lucy. Chuckling he patted her head. "So, it's true isn't it?" He asked. "What do you mean?" she asked carefully. "You mean you didn't notice? I'm surprised Natsu didn't say anything to earlier. Laxus marked you, didn't he?" Lucy blushed covering herself where the mark was. "So, what does that matter?" she asked. "Well let me tell you before you use to smell like Vanilla and strawberries, but now you still smell like that and you also smell a little like lightening too." Suddenly there was a flash and Laxus appeared growling at Gajeel who took a step back. "Hey Bunny girl I would suggest you get out of here I think I pissed off his dragon." Lucy didn't take a second glance and ran out of library. "Master!" she shouted exiting the door. "Lucy? What is it child?" asked Makarov. "Laxus and Gajeel are fighting in the library!" Makarov stood up looking angry and made his way to the door when Natsu and Wendy stopped him by standing in front of the door. "Natsu, Wendy out of my way," he said angrily. "I'm sorry Master, but we can't let you through," said Wendy timidly. "Yeah Gramps it's a dragon slayer thing. They need to work it out themselves."
A crash was heard below them shaking the guild hall. "Is it really a good idea to leave them be?" asked Levy. "Yeah. Lucy I'm guessing when Laxus teleported away from Erza to where you were Gajeel said something to make your scent change," said Natsu. "Well he made me blush a little, but what has that got to do with anything?" she asked. "Well Lucy a dragon is very protective of their mate and that is passed down to dragon slayers. As such since Gajeel is another dragon slayer it becomes even more of territorial issue. Because in his mind after you became his mate no other man is going to make you have emotions. When Gajeel made you blush at such a close distance to him he could smell a change in your scent and came rushing to you because only he should make you blush. After a mate is fully realized they will fight until one bows and comes out on top. Master there is nothing we can do. If we stop it and that's if we can who knows what kind of damage would happen," said Wendy.
As if on que the two slayers burst through the floor and for the first time Lucy got a good look at Laxus and could see that his eyes were slits. "Natsu he will kill him if we do nothing!" shouted Lucy. As she saw Gajeel electrocuted time and again she knew she had to stop this. "Levy can you make me some metal?" Nodding Levy did as she was asked. As Laxus made to throw more lightening at him she used the metal scrip from Levys' magic and pulled some of the lightening away from Gajeel. Jumping out of the way Lucy too his surprise got close enough to Gajeel to protect him. "Are you alright?" she asked kneeling in front of him. "Bunny girl are you crazy? You could have seriously gotten hurt." Grunting he held his side. She knew from the fairy tail fight during the fantasia parade that Gajeel couldn't beat him. "Stay down Gajeel, I'll deal with him." Standing up she turned around and glared at Laxus. "Laxus! Stop right now! You had no right to start this!" she said as she was walking towards him. Her energy started to flow around her as her anger built. "If you want to continue this childish game being superior to all fine have at it, but I won't be part of it!" With that she walked out of the guild hall and headed towards the forest.
Once she was there Lucy sighed and sat down, she knew he couldn't help it however she didn't want anything to do with it. "Open gate of the Lion Loke." Loke appeared and she smiled as her friend sat down next to her. "So, seven years of suspension and still nothing has changed between you two." Letting out a frustrated cry she looked at her spirit. "Why does he act like this. How can he feel the need to be so possessive? I mean I'm his and everything." "Lucy relax I'm sure it's not just you. I'm sure every dragon slayer would do the same, but Laxus has never truly cared about anything so cut him some slack. I'm sure a lot of this is all new to him." She looked at Loke and smiled. "Fine, but only because you knew him better than I did." With that she laid back on the grass and looked up at the sky as the sun began to set. Falling asleep she didn't notice someone watching them from the shadows. Walking away he decided to put his little plan into action.
Lucy woke up feeling herself being carried. Opening her eyes, she saw it was Laxus. Too tired to say anything she closed her eyes once more. He placed her in her bed when they got home and covered her up. Closing the door, he leaned against it. "Damn I'm such a fool. Letting myself get so worked up over a tiny thing." Pushing off the door he made his way to his bed. He had waited for hours for Lucy to come home, but when she didn't return, he went to find her with Loke. What Loke had said really shook him up. 'If you don't stop making her upset, she will leave you. Mate or not she doesn't need to always be worried about your need to be superior. So, figure out that superiority complex of yours before you drive her away.' After he said that he had disappeared, but it was still ringing through Laxus' ears. He knew he couldn't be near her now. Heading up to his bed he laid down and fell into a fitful sleep.
