When Thalia Grace arrived at Camp Half-Blood, she was immediately brought onto the Argo II. She ended up taking the cabin meant for her brother, Jason. The room was pretty bare, other than an old picture which she recognizes hanging on one of the walls. It was a picture of her, Annabeth, and Luke from when they were on the run. On the back of the photograph, Jason had written something. Recognize the girl with blue eyes, possibly someone I knew? Will ask more questions in the future. The photograph was slightly crumpled too, as if it had been carried in someone's pocket for a long time.

A golden Roman-style sword lay on the dresser and Thalia picked it up experimentally. The golden metal felt wrong to hold, so she set it back down quickly. Inside the drawers there were a few orange T-shirts and one tattered purple one. In the second drawer was a notebook. Thalia pulled it out and leafed through it.

The first few pages were drawings. There were drawings of a city which looked like Ancient Rome, of a pegasus grazing grass, and of several other seemingly random things. Then, Thalia saw a rather disturbing drawing. It was of a girl with dark hair and eyes laying on the ground. There were cuts and blood all over her, and the artist—probably Jason—had made it seem as if she was dying. On the back of the page, her brother had written a short description. Reyna, daughter of Bellona. Praetor of the 1st/12th (?) Legion of Rome. Battle of Mount Othrys, she was almost killed by a manticore. Centurion saved her. Made a sacred oath to protect her?

Thalia looked at the next picture. It was of the same girl, but she looked far healthier in the picture. She was laughing, and Jason had drawn a flower in her hair. On the back, more was written. RARA? Friend? Girlfriend? Memory: Reyna laughing while we were at Ceralia. A little girl passed out flowers and I put one in Reyna's hair. I kissed her, and a statue rebuked us for PDA. Reyna said that we could simply 'continue later.'

Thalia turned the page again. This one was of two boys grinning. Each wore full armor and held weapons loosely in their hands. On the back, Jason had written another description. Bobby and Dakota. Comrades? Friends? Dakota: son of Bacchus, drinks Kool-Aid. Bobby: legacy of Mercury, pulls lots of pranks w/ Octavian and me. After the Battle of MO, Dakota replaced me as centurion when I became praetor.

Thalia couldn't stop turning pages. There was a drawing of a pretty girl with shoulder-length hair holding a sword in her hand. On the back, Jason described what he remembered about a girl named Gwen. There was a drawing of a thin boy holding a teddy bear. On the back, Jason had written quite a lot. Octavian, legacy of Apollo. Augur, possibly going crazy because of his gift of prophecy? Uses stuffed animals instead of real animals. Predicted I would betray Rome? Predicted Reyna would kill me for being a traitor? Told me to ask Reyna out. Will retire soon to escape the insanity of his post. Could have gotten worse while I've been gone?

One of my best friends. We pranked the Third and Fourth Cohorts with Bobby. He was the one who predicted Reyna and I would fall in love. Knows something about the danger of the East? Could he have meant the Greeks? Or something even worse than Greeks?

Thalia came to the last drawing. It was another of Reyna. This time, it was just of her head and shoulders against a stone background. Steam or smoked covered the rest of her body, but Thalia could tell that the girl was either naked or hardly wearing any clothing. There was a hand which seemed eerily similar to Jason's cupping her cheek. On the back, there was another long description: Reyna Avila Ramírez-Arellano. Sixteen. Raven hair and obsidian eyes. Semi-tan skin. Has a sweet tooth, loves hot chocolate, brownies, and jelly beans. Loves me? Definitely a girlfriend. Friends don't make out in the bath, right? Went on two quests with me. One to slay the Trojan Sea Monster, one to recover weapons from Charleston. Has gone on several other quests, including recovering Proserpina's flower crown or something? Became praetor before me, was teaching me math when she had a chance. Has two dogs: Aurum (gold) and Argentum (silver). Constantly kicks my podex in training or just to teach me a lesson for slacking off. I'm in love with her?

Thalia quickly closed the notebook and put it back in the drawer. As much as she wanted to know about Jason growing up, some of that was too much information. WAY too much information.

Thalia quickly put her own things away and then exited the cabin. She ran into Will Solace, a son of Apollo. "Hey Thalia," he greeted with a bright smile.

"Hi Will," Thalia replied. "Do you know how long it'll take to cross the ocean?"

He shrugged. "I was just about to find Leo and ask. Care to join me?" he asked. He looked very similar to his dad with the same wavy blonde hair, blue eyes, and nice tan.

"Sure," Thalia replied. "Where to?"

"No idea. Probably the helm or the engine room." Will shrugged and glanced around the ship. "Let's check the helm first, since it's closer."

They ascended to the top deck and spotted Leo at the helm. Thalia didn't understand the controls of the ship, but also decided not to ask about them. He was waving around some kind of remote thing in one hand and hitting buttons in his other. "When will we reach Greece?" Will asked.

"In about a weak and a half. We'll reach France or Spain in about a week and it'll take us another few days to reach Mount Olympus," Leo replied. Finally, he stopped pressing buttons. "The anti-monster wards are now up and running. Thanks, Thalia, for lending us one of your limbs."

Thalia glared at him. "One of my what?"

He grinned. "From your tree, I mean. Up on Half-Blood Hill. Chiron said it was okay to take a branch. That's what's help powering the wards and keeping them strong."

"Oh," Thalia said. That made a lot more sense. "Right." She walked away from Leo and towards Annabeth and Percy, who were talking quietly. "What's up, lovebirds?"

The two blushed. "I was telling Annabeth that I'm sure Reyna will keep the legion from attacking Camp Half-Blood. She's not blood-crazy like Octavian. Plus Jason is by her side as praetor, so they won't attack our home. I'm sure of it," Percy explained.

"Who's Reyna?" Thalia asked. Of course, she knew what Jason had written about her, but she wanted to hear it from two of the people whom she trusted most in the world.

"She's the leader of the Romans, and a daughter of Bellona. She has scary dogs which eat you if you lie to her, but are really friendly and cute if you're friends with her. She's pretty level-headed, and thinks things through. And she missed Jason just as much as Annabeth missed me, I think."

Thalia frowned. Where did that leave Piper in all of this? Thalia actually liked the tough daughter of Aphrodite whom her brother had been dating. "Why do you think that?"

"Praetor is an elected position at Camp Jupiter. Reyna kept Jason's position as his until the Feast of Fortuna when she finally gave it to me as Jason's replacement. And I heard some of the legionnaires talking about how much she had changed since Jason left. How she didn't smile anymore. And she looked like she hadn't slept in a long time, even though she tried to hide it. And then she was so quick to accept me when Hera brought me to her camp, even though I blew up her old home. And she took me in just because she somehow knew that I was Jason's replacement for her camp. That and I guessed, since Jason's villa had a ton of pictures of the two of them. They were all fairly recent, except for one from when they were about thirteen."

Thalia nodded. "Huh, good observations, Kelp Head."

Percy grinned. "I try." Then, he yawned. "But now it's time for bed." He kissed Annabeth's cheek and then walked down to the cabins.

"You okay, Annabeth?" she asked carefully. Percy may be her friend and boyfriend, but that didn't change the fact that he had kelp for brains. Thalia, on the other hand, had taken care of Annabeth when she was little and knew how she thought. "Really okay?"

She nodded. "I'm getting there. Missing Percy was hard, but now that he's here everything feels like it's getting better. You know?" she looked down at the ocean below the two. "Even with the Romans refusing to help us, I'm just happy that I have Percy back."

Thalia nodded. "That's good, Annie." She hesitated. "Do you think that I'll get to see my brother again?"

Annabeth frowned. "I don't know, Thals. I really just don't know."
