Update on the fic's progress:
First things first, I want to apologise to anyone who managed to stick around, even as we go through a pandemic, for not being faithful to my naive younger self's alibi about being updating and finishing fics.
School started to get harder to handle (I had bitten more than I could chew back then), I got more involved into other fandoms using a separate account which then became my more main one than this old account. I also started to lose interest in the franchise and my poor undeveloped writing in earlier chapters and works made it hard for me to continue off it.
To be honest, when I look back, I was very surprised that despite my crappy writing earlier, The Phoenix of Darkness and the Butterfly of Light (TPoDatBoL from this point) had received a lot of attention and love.
I learned and enjoyed several other works during my stay here around 2017-2018.
Fast forward to May 2020, I became friends with people in my more recent fandom who got me back into Ace Attorney, as well as converting me into a Narumitsu shipper. (Don't worry, I actually equally love Narumayo and Narumitsu lol)
Overtime, my writing has improved although my productivity has... somewhat declined despite what I work on. Quality before quantity... kinda.
I was thinking about it for a long time, especially last year, whether I should try to finish off TPoDatBoL so far or rewrite and do it completely to a better quality so I'll be more able finish the story with better pacing.
But then... I've noticed that there's been recent... drama...
Being the amateur investigator with only logic and research skills of a high schooler that I was... damn things went down between people and rather interesting contradictions came to mind, or maybe that's just what I picked up after torturous hours of schooling. I could possibly do an Internet Historian, involving more amateur investigating on the whole fiasco to try to clear things up but I don't want to get too involved.
Needless to say, I did bet someone a hundred bucks that at least one of the very few accounts I listed will review to this chapter after estimations looking at previous fics unrelated to the drama. Easiest money I ever made... (I shouldn't count my eggs before they hatch lol)
Either way, I'll probably mark the earlier chapters old with spoilers and add rewritten chapters on the same fic. It will take some time and if I do manage to start rewriting, still unsure if I should at this point.
There's also a possibility of posting the story on Ao3 instead, though I feel it might be unfair to users of this site.
Nonetheless, I suppose I'll see you guys around.
