The tournament and all its excitement had finally passed. "I believe the two of you boys must go off on your own training now, for there is nothing else I can teach you," Master Roshi told his two pupils as the group stood outside their hotel. "Is it still alright if I stay with you?" Krillin questioned nervously, glancing up at his master. The old man nodded as he said, "Of course! So long as you train yourself, it's fine if you stay with me." Kakarot frowned and looked about. "Perhaps I'll go looking for the Four-Star Ball?" He asked, looking over at Bulma. Oolong scoffed, "We've already looked for those things once, and we are not doing it again."
Kakarot raised an eyebrow. "Who said you had to go? I was planning on going alone and making some training out of it anyways," He explained. Bulma glanced him before nodding slowly. "Just be careful please. Those things got us into a lot of trouble before… I trust you still have the radar?" Kakarot nodded and leaned to grab his bag. "Right in here!" He assured. Master Roshi leaned down and placed a hand on his younger student's shoulders. "Be safe, I know you can do it," The elder assured.
Kakarot nodded and replied, "Before I go, can I actually talk to you in private?" Master Roshi narrowed his eyes, but followed Kakarot away from the group regardless. "Listen," Kakarot began softly, "I know you're Jackie Chun, don't even fight me on it- but I want to learn how to do that lightning technique eventually… That and I'm curious, how come your Kamehameha blast was equal to mine in the beginning of the round? I could've sworn yours was smaller or something... "
The elder blinked slowly as he processed all the information that the young student had thrown at him. "Well, I suppose I could teach you the Lightning Attack Surprise, but I'd really like it for you to train on your own first. It'll be interesting to see what things you come up with once you return to me to learn. Furthermore, my Kamehameha was smaller than yours, but it was more concise. I focused my energy more into a thin tube to make a more devastating impact, meanwhile, you just let lose energy. Train on focusing the beam more, then focus on power, alright?" He responded slowly, not even bothering to argue the fact that he was Jackie Chun.
Kakarot nodded avidly and rushed back to the group. "Well, I best be off now, I'll see you guys later!" 'Wait, you're leaving now?!" Krillin called, reaching out after his friend. "Aye, gotta get in all the training I can, right?" Kakarot shouted, taking from the group. Once, he got a far enough distance, he took off flying into the air. Soon, Kakarot was soaring over the desert. "The highest power level is closer than the Dragon Ball, so perhaps I should stop there first?" Kakarot mumbled, looking at the radar. "Let me go!" He heard suddenly. Kakarot looked around and spotted a large monster carrying Nam, his second opponent in the tournament.
Kakarot frowned and flew over. "Nam!" He called, "Are you okay?" Nam looked at him in shock. "You… you're flying?!" The monk stuttered in awe. Kakarot rolled his eyes and pulled in front of the humanoid dinosaur. Kakarot planted a sharp kick into the monster's throat, knocking him out and making him let go of Nam. "Nimbus!" Kakarot called, trying to get the cloud to catch the elder. Far too close to the ground for comfort, the cloud caught the older man.
Kakarot flew down beside the little cloud. "What are you doing out here?" Kakarot asked, tilting his head. Nam's eyes were still wide as he looked at the young Saiyan. "I'm, uh, looking to see what's blocking the water from going downstream..." He mumbled. Kakarot nodded and moved to the front of the cloud, leading the way up the empty river.

Soon enough, the two men found a large dam covering the water from the stream. Kakarot looked about the monsters in the pool of water below. "Kakarot," Nam whispered, "Lower the cloud, I have to ask them to release the damn." Kakarot glanced back at the older man and gave him a firm nod. Kakarot landed in a tree and watched as Nam hopped off Nimbus, gathering the attention of the surrounding dinosaurs. "Please," Nam began, "open the dam! All the water is being trapped here and my village is going through a serious drought because of it! If you don't let the water flow, we'll all die!" The monsters laughed in his face. "No way! We love this good, clean water. We are not sharing it with anyone, no matter the circumstances," A bright blue creature announced. Nam rushed forward and grasped the monster's leg. "Please! I beg of you-" 'Listen, I said no and I mean no!" The dino interrupted, kicking his leg sending Nam into a tree.
Kakarot hopped down from the branches before any more damage could be done. "Who the hell are you?" The same creature that kicked Nam demanded. Kakarot gave them a cheery wink. "Son Kakarot, at your service!" He announced with a smirk. A lime green dino stepped in. "I don't care who you are, let's get 'em!" He shouted, pouncing forward. As all the others moved to do the same, Kakarot planted his fist in the gut of the lime green dino, sending him flying backwards. All the other creatures stopped short and backed off. "How dare you! Why I-" 'Knock it off!" A deep voice interrupted.
Out of the sky flew Giran, Kakarot's initial opponent in the tournament. He landed in front of Kakarot and surveyed the scene calmly. "It's been a while, huh?" Giran questioned, finally looking at the young Saiyan. "Indeed it has," Kakarot replied, crossing his arms nonchalantly. "Master, you know this boy?" One of the dinos questioned softly. Giran gave a throaty laugh. "That I do! He's the opponent I lost to at the World Martial Arts Tournament. You fools are not worthy enough to fight him. Anyways, I heard your plight. Unfortunately, the dam is sealed with our Guru-Guru gum, so I'm afraid we cannot break it." The giant explained.
"You cannot break it?" Nam asked sadly. Before Giran could answer, however, Kakarot spun to face him. "They may be unable to do so, but I'm not, remember?" He reminded, "So, Giran, mind if I give it a shot?" Giran snorted. "Knock yourself out kid," He replied easily. Kakarot grinned and raced down to the bottom of the dam. 'Concise, keep the blast concise,' He reminded himself as he crouched into position. "Kamehameha!" He shouted, thrusting his hands towards the dam. The blast hit the middle of the dam and it promptly began to crumble. Giran began laughing loudly. "Just what I would expect from you Kakarot!" He chortled.
"Thank you so much Kakarot!" Nam shouted, clasping the young boy's hand and shaking vigorously. Kakarot smiled lightly and pried his hand from the older man's grip. "Of course, it was no trouble at all. Nimbus can give you a ride back, but I've got to go!" Kakarot replied, taking off in the air once again. Just like that, he was off on his own once again, but he wouldn't stay that way for long!
Author's note: Sorry for the short chapter all! The only reason this one is this small is because the last one is huge, and I'm planning on the next being not only large, but having a lot of important information for the story line in it. As such, this chapter is a sort of a divider between the two. Anyways, thanks for reading!
