Chapter Twenty-eight: The fates Prophecy comes true
A couple of weeks have passed and Spike has decided to show up again. He still had the book that one of his members stole from Giles library and they were able to find something to cure his mate. While they were gathering the stuff that he needed Buffy and Kagome had spotted them. They stopped the muscles but the brainy one with the huge golden cross got away. When Spike heard about this he had enough and decided to hire The Order of Taraka to take care of them. One tried to kill Buffy when she was on a date with Angel at the ice rink but Buffy took care of him quickly. Angel, who was with her, knew who the monster was and he believed that both Buffy and Kagome were in danger so they should be in hiding. So Buffy stayed with Angel while Vlad and Apollo took turns in taking watch at Kagome's house.
The next day Buffy was attacked by a Jamaican girl named Kendra, who proclaimed that she was the slayer. This confused Buffy but Kagome could sense that she wasn't lying when Buffy brought her to the Library. From what Giles told them that when the Slayer dies another will take her place. It seems that no one heard about Kagome reviving her with Tensigna. The girl was very uptight, old school and was very serious about her job. Buffy really didn't like her, especially when Kendra mentioned that she left Angel for dead at a bar. Kagome was able to calm her down when she mentioned that Angel was still alive as she could sense his soul.
Another Order of Taraka had gone after Cordelia and Xander. While another came after the girls and it disguised itself as a female cop. She ended up running off when she saw that she was out numbered. Later on Giles found out what Spike was up to and the key ingredient is Angel because he was Drusilla sire. So they thought up a plan and geared up. Kagome knew where Angel was so the three girls hurried to the church first. Kendra ends up fighting Spike, while Kagome uses her powers to kill the bug assassin, Buffy handled the female assassin while Giles and the gang handle the minion vampires. When Kagome was finished with the bug man she helped Kendra with Spike.
After Buffy finished hers' off she went to save Angel while Spike was able to kick them away as he went to get Drusilla and tried to run off. Buffy didn't let that happen when she hit him with an incense censer and knocked him into the organ; making it and the wall fall on him. It was over for now for the gang. Kendra had headed back home but not before becoming close friends with Buffy and Kagome. She just needed to loosen up some more.
Then a few days later Buffy's mom started dating a man named Ted. The man seemed nice but Buffy sensed something off about him and she wasn't the only one. When Kagome and Ruka met him they both didn't sense a soul in him.
Then things got worse when he tried to hurt Buffy one night. She ended up knocking him down the stairs out of self defense but he was proclaimed dead. Only Kagome and the gang believed her side of the story but almost everyone including her mother didn't so to prove her innocence they went to check where Ted lived and they found some interesting things there. In the closet were four of Ted's dead wives, so that was proof enough.
Back at Buffy's place Ted appeared again and knocked her out. He tried to convince Joyce to marry him but Joyce wasn't ready to take that step yet . At least not without Buffy being okay with this. This really ticked Ted off and tried to kidnap her but Buffy was able to stop him. That's when she found out that he was a robot all along. It turns out that the real human Ted was dying from cancer and got dumped by his wife so he b decided to build a better Ted before he died. Then the robot brought her back and held her hostage until she died and then he kept bringing her back over and over. It was one of the most strange and psychotic things they heard of for the gang.
The only good-yet, strange news is that Jean and Giles were back together. Though both Kagome and Buffy could do without walking in on them kissing.
A week later in Health class the gang had a parenting assignment with some eggs. Then one night Buffy's egg hatched and a strange creature came out and tried to attack her. She was able to kill it with an iron, sadly because of this her mother saw her appearance and thought Buffy was gonna sneak out. This made her mother mad and got her grounded. The same thing happened with Kagome but she was able to purify hers. Then the next day the girls asked the other if their eggs did anything strange but nothing. That was until Xander tried to eat his egg since he boiled it and found the strange creature inside it. When they tried to dissect it, Willow and Cordelia ended up knocking Kagome, Buffy, Vlad and Apollo as the creatures already took over their minds. They ended up locking them in the closet. Almost everyone at school had a hatchling attached to them and headed down to the basement to dig. Even Joyce and Ruka got one on them thanks to Giles.
The four finally woke up, thankfully before the eggs inside could hatch. After crushing them the four got out and headed to the library to do some fast research on these creatures. Willow did call them a bezoar, so that gave them a name. Then they saw that Giles already helped them on that as there was a book about the creature left out. It was a Prehistoric Parasite that hibernates underground, laying eggs while the offspring attach themselves to a host through neural clamping.
After finding a last minute host they found out where the mother was so they tried to figure out a plan to kill it. Before they could, two vampires that Buffy was hunting before showed up and attacked them. The attack drew the attention of the hatchling hostess and attacked as well. When one of the vampires got close to the mother it ate him and nearly ate Buffy but Kagome quickly tossed her a pickaxe for her to kill it with. Once the mother was dead all the hatchlings died and detach from their host. After seeing that the slayer was still alive the other just vampires ran off.
Everyone that was a host had no idea what had happened and believed in Giles story saying that it was a gas leak. Lame story but everyone seemed to have bought it.

A few days later...
At Spike's old hideout Drusilla decided to throw a party for herself. Spike, who was now weak and in a wheelchair, wasn't in the mood to celebrate, especially since she decided to stay in Sunnydale. He knew the longer they stayed here the slayer and Priestess would soon find them and kill them soon. He just wanted to leave this place but his mate wasn't ready to. While she was looking over the decoration one of their brainy minions came in with a box.
"I have your package."
"Just put it on the table, near the other gifts." Spike said "Are you dead set on this, pet? Wouldn't you rather have your party in Vienna?"
"But the invitations are sent." She said
"Yeah...But it's just I've had it with this place. Nothing ever comes off like it's supposed to." He moped
"My gatherings are always perfect. Remember Spain?" She smiled, trying to cheer him up. "Hey? The bulls?"
"I remember, sweet." He smiled but frowned agained. "But Sunnydale's cursed for us. Angel, the Slayer and that priestess sees to that."
"Shh! I've got good games for everyone." She smirked and licked his face. "You'll see."
Then it was her turn to frown when she saw that the flowers weren't exactly what she wanted. She started to whine and tore them off the chairs before Spike calmed her down and told the minions to change the flowers. This made her happy and wanted to open one of the boxes now. She begged Spike if she could open and as always Spike agreed but only a peek. Once she opened it she gasped in awe.
"Do you like it, baby?" Spike asked
"It reeks of death." She smiled "This will be the best party ever."
"Why's that?" He asked
"Because it will be the last." She said with a deadly smirk
Buffy's birthday was coming soon. Everyone has been planning her surprise party for a while now. The only thing was that Buffy wasn't fully hyped up for it as she had a dream about Drusilla killing Angel in front of her. It freaked her out and made her worry about him. Then more of her visions started coming true which kept freaking her out that she didn't want to celebrate her birthday yet. Giles and the gang understood but still decided to give her one as this was the only time she'll turn 17. So they all waited at the Bronze while Jenny drove her there. They all waited inside to surprise her but Buffy was taking forever. Then a vampire came smashing through the window before she turned him into dust. This was a little awkward since Willow brought her date Oz with her and saw the whole thing.
"Surprise!" Cordelia smiled as she popped up from her hiding spot.
She was the only one that was still hiding so everyone just looked at her with a raised brow.
"That pretty much sums it up." Oz replied
Vlad and Xander just shook their heads.
"Buffy, are you okay?" Angel asked
"Yes, what happened?" Giles asked
"Uh...There were these vamps out...What's going on?" She asked as she looked at everything.
"Oh. Erm…" Giles stuttered
"It's a surprise party. Happy Birthday." Kagome smiled and blew a party horn.
This made Buffy smile in gratitude at what her friends did.
"You guys did all this for me?" She smiled and looked at Angle"That is so sweet."
"Are you sure you're okay?" Angel asked
"Yes, I'm fine." She smiled
Realizing that Oz was still there Willow asked if he was okay. He was but still wondered how the guy turned into dust. So Xander and Willow just decided to explain to him that Vampires and other supernatural creatures were real and that there were alot in Sunnydale. Thankfully he took it better than anyone thought.
Before anyone could start the party Jenny came in with a box that the vampires had. After what happened it looked like the vampires scattered off, forgetting about the box. They opened up the box and it was an arm. Well an arm that happened to still be alive as it attacked Buffy and tried to choke her. Luckily Angel and Vlad were able to pride it off her and locked it back in the case.
"The Hellmouth's answer to "What do you get the slayer who has everything?" Xander joke
"Buffy are you alright?" Kagome asked
"Man, that thing had a major grip." Buffy said
"What was that?" Willow asked
"It looked like an arm." Oz replied
"It can't be. She wouldn't." Angel muttered in disbelief.
"Care to share what this thing is?" Vlad asked
"Angel?" Buffy asked
"It's a legend, why before my time. Of a demon brought forth to rid the Earth of the plague of humanity." Angel explained "To separate the righteous from the wicked, and to burn the righteous down."
"Even we gods heard of that in Olympus. They called him the Judge." Apollo said
"The Judge? This is he?" Giles asked
"No not all of him." Angel said
"Um...those that know about this would like some backstory." Kagome said
"Erm...He...He couldn't be killed, yes?" Giles replied
Angel nodded in agreement.
"Erm...An army was sent against him. Most of them died. But finally they were able to dismember him, but...not kill him." Giles explained
"The pieces were scattered, buried in every corner of the Earth." Apollo added
"So all these parts are being brought here?" Jenny asked
"By Drusilla." Buffy stated "The vamps outside were Spike's men."
"She's just crazy enough to do it." Angel replied
"Do what? Reassemble the Judge?" Willow asked
"Bring forth Armageddon." Vlade muttered
Seeing how teased everything was Cordiela tried lighting up mood by offering cake. No one answered but Giles believed that the arm needed to be hidden and out of the Hellsmouth. Jenny recommended Angel to do it, believing that he was the only one that could protect it. Buffy didn't like the sound of that and tried to think of another way. That is when Kagome mentioned having it sent to Sesshomaru. He had a hidden castle that guarded many different cursed and dangerous artifacts. Drusilla may be nuts but she or any other vampire would never go against the Dog Demon general. He had a private jet that Angel could take so he wouldn't be gone for more than a few days. Jenny didn't like this and tried to intervene for Angel to do this alone. She backed off when Kagome looked at her as she could sense that something was off. For a while Kagome had sensed the guilt that Jenny has been feeling lately but she didn't know why.
So Angel and Buffy had gone to the airport but before the jet could arrive they got ambushed by Drusilla's minions. The two fought them but the vampires ended up getting the arm back and headed off. After that they headed back to the library where everyone was trying to do research on the Judge. They all ended up pulling an all nighter until Buffy had another vision. She knew where Drusilla was so she and Ange went to see how many of the Judges body parts she had before stealing them. It was a good plan but it turns out that the female vampire already placed the parts together. The demon almost killed them but Angel was able to find a way to escape.
When the storm appeared Apollo felt the bad omen. He could feel it in his soul that Angelus had returned. Worried about Kagomes' safety he armed himself and headed to her house. Before he arrived at her house he watched his surroundings and kept his senses up as he headed out, not sure where the vampire would be.
"Apollo?" Ruka said as she opened the door.
She quickly let him in when the rain started getting worse. Sensing Apollo in her house Kagome got out of bed and saw him downstairs.
"Apollo? What's going on?" She asked
"We have trouble." He said "Angelus is back."
"What? How?" She asked
Before he could say anything Ruka came back with some towel for Apollo to dry him off.
"Thank you." He said to her before looking back at Kagome. "Athena was able to find something. And I know why Jenny was acting weird." He started drying his hair before sitting down in the kitchen. "Turns out that it was a gypsy family that cursed him by giving back his soul. They wanted him to suffer for what he has done. That family happened to be Ms. Calendars' family. Or should I say Janna Kalderash. That is her real name."
"But she hasn't acted like this to him before. She was even grateful when he saved herself from the demon." Kagome said
"Not everyone is forgiving as you, my Moon Goddess. Her family wants him to always suffer but there is a reason why." He replied "If he becomes happy or has any hope and happiness the curse would be revoked. His soul will be gone and he'll return back to Angelus."
"Buffy?" Kagome said in worry. "She's with him. We need to find her."
She quickly went upstairs to get dressed and asked her mom for her car keys.
