Whatever You Want

Author's Note: What is this blasphemy?! Two updates in the same year which hasn't been the case since 2017?! AM I AN IMPOSTER?! Lol, but yeah, this story still lives. Hard to believe it's been three years since I made this fanfic, and it's still my most popular one when it comes to the favs, follows, and views. Thank you everyone for all your support and patience. Life has been happening and I recently had surgery, so it's been affecting my time/energy.

As a quick side note before we officially begin, check out some of my other fanfics too. I have a Spider-Man fanfic called Spider-Man: Fire and Desire for all my SpideyxBlack cat shippers, lol. I have a Ben 10 fanfic called Can You Stand The Rain, a Persona 5 fanfic titled Don't Go Breaking My Heart, and a crossover fanfic with Spidey and the X-Men. That one is called Spider-Man & The X-Men: Dreams and Nightmares.

With that being said, let's get started!

Intro Music: My Hero Academia Opening 1 – The Day

Chapter 13: Regret

Pain.

A simple word that could mean a whole lot of other things.

When young Izuku Midoriya first joined U.A. High, his eyes were constantly filled with the childlike wonder he's always had. Being a hero was cool, and his absolute favorite hero is All Might.

Not an uncommon choice since All Might ranks number 1 in the Hero Charts every freakin' year, but the point here is All Might gives people hope. It's not only his pure strength that makes people like him, because if it were the only thing, he'd just be some dude with powers.

But it's his smile, how much he cares for the people, the reassurance he brings to everyone around him. These are the things that truly makes him a hero. Through it all, the good times, the bad times, the horrible times, no matter how dire things got, All Might always found a way to get back up.

However, with All Might making the whole hero job seem easy most of the time, it gives people a false reality of it actually being easy.

That couldn't be farther from the truth.

And you want to know who's experiencing this right now?

His number one fan.

"Midoriya, I want you to tell me what exactly happened." Momo began, looking at him sternly but her voice showed a lot of concern. "The battle, the abandoned building, what happened in there?"

The two were now on a quest to find the rest of their friends, but that doesn't mean they can't talk.

Throughout everything, Midoriya was as quiet as a mouse, being extremely reluctant to say anything whatsoever. You would think his face would look nervous in this situation; however, this wasn't the case.

Instead, his face looked blank, emotionless, almost like his soul got taken out of him.

He never truly realized how hard it was to be a hero. So many choices, tough choices a person has to make for the benefit of the world.

Isn't this enough of a reward?

It should be, right?

Once again, if only it were that simple.

Midoriya had to kill Mitsuki Bakugo, the mother of his best friend, or past best friend… Katsuki Bakugo.

Or Kacchan, his childhood nickname which was frequently used by Midoriya.

Their relationship is… complicated, to say the least.

"Momo, I… I don't even know where to begin." Midoriya finally managed to say, and clearly it was difficult for him. This made Momo stop in her tracks, placing a hand on Midoriya's shoulder and looked at him caringly.

"Whatever it is, I'm all ears. I'm here for you." she said with a smile, trying to give him some kind of encouragement. Midoriya's first response was his head looking downward, his eyes specifically looking at the street so he could avoid eye contact.

Should he tell her?

Or, a better question, should he tell her everything?

I mean, he still can't fully explain this random power boost he has now. Was it rage? Adrenaline? Why do his clothes turn black when he suddenly gets really angry?

Why does he get so powerful in that state?

And why does one part of him seem to like the feeling?

It's creepy in one way, but the rush he gets, the power… it feels good. Like, he literally feels unstoppable when he's in this state.

But… there was a dark side to it, he could tell. This power boost brings out certain emotions that should stay dormant, and if ever stayed in this particular state for a certain amount of time…

He could lose himself to it.

Though, what if he could control it?

Bah, who is he kidding, he can't even fully control One For All yet, much less another power boost to go along with it, this specific one being the main factor why and how he killed Mitsuki in the first place.

"The person we were facing," Midoriya began, having a pause in his words. Oh great, he already started, so he can't turn back now.

He took a deep breath, his face finally starting to show emotion as he faced Momo, looking into her eyes. "The person we faced was Kacchan's mother, Mitsuki."

Hearing these words come of out Midoriya's mouth, connecting the dots since she realized he was using Bakugo's childhood nickname, her eyes widened, clearly being in complete shock as this was revealed to her.

Momo's mind started to spin, still putting all of the pieces to the puzzle together.

When she realized what that truly meant, there was only one conclusion she could come to.

"Wait… Are you saying… You killed her?" she managed to muster out, but Midoriya would refute this statement.

"I didn't kill her!" he shouted back, clearly being sensitive about this subject. For a second, his anger rose once again, but once he realized he shouted at Momo, he started to rub his head out of frustration.

"I'm sorry…"

Momo started rubbing Midoriya's back, trying to comfort him. "You're okay. If you didn't kill her, then-"

This is when Midoriya would cut her off.

"No, you're right." he truthfully confirmed. "I did kill her, but I didn't mean to."

Momo tilted her head, trying to figure out the 'didn't mean to' part. "Didn't mean to?" she repeated. "It's because she was Bakugo's mother, right?"

Midoriya nodded. "More than that." he told her. "I couldn't control my powers, and I ended up hitting her too hard."

Momo thought she finally got it. Midoriya did have a history of not being fully able to control his quirk, for whatever reason. "So, you lost control of your quirk again?"

Midoriya stood in silence, gritting his teeth. I mean, technically, he was telling the truth. He did lose control.

But it wasn't with his quirk.

Not this time.

"No," he replied, Momo now tilting her head.

"Huh?" Clearly, she was confused.

"Before Mitsuki, remember we were facing someone else? When I crashed into the city with my Detroit Smash, and how everyone showed up to try and save me?" Midoriya brought up, reminding Momo of that day.

"I remember." Momo told him.

"But you don't know what happened afterwards, because when I woke up, you were badly injured and unconscious."

Momo gave a nod, truthfully not being able to explain what happened during those moments. Everything seemed like such a blur.

"During that time, the threat I was facing, it's like I… got something from it. I remember seeing your condition and getting really angry, and for a few moments, I lost it."

Midoriya would take a short pause, before explaining further. "The pure anger I felt during this time, it's like it gave me a power boost. I'm not just talking about any regular kind of power boost either. I literally felt unstoppable."

The way Midoriya was explaining it, Momo knew there had to be some kind of catch.

"The rush, the thrill, the adrenaline, everything felt amazing. But then while I was in this state, it's like I wasn't myself. I not only took pleasure in viciously fighting, but I felt blood thirsty."

There it was, the catch Momo was waiting for.

"All of my clothes turn into black when this happens. I guess it's a signal of my change. The same thing happened in my battle with Mitsuki. When I dealt the finishing blow, so much strength that I've never even had before went out, and it all went to her gut."

When he started explaining this story, his eyes looked like they were traumatized from this situation. "She spat out so much blood due to my punch… Any chance I had of saving her went away in that very moment."

It was clear Midoriya was carrying an unfathomable amount of guilt, and all Momo could do was feel sorry for him. It's like this boy was cursed or something. Imagine being the main reason why on not only your own mother dying, but now literally being the reason why your old best friend's mother is now dead.

Sure, she was being controlled, but what if she could be saved? There was still a chance.

But it's something he'll never be able to get back, and now he has to live with this guilt for the rest of his life.

"Midoriya…" Momo muttered, getting closer to him and held him close. Her warm embrace was everything a hero represented. Reassurance, the way she cares, how all of these things can make somebody hold on for a second longer.

Midoriya didn't hesitate, he hugged Momo back as he started to feel his eyes get a little bit watery.

They would last like this for a long time, until someone would interrupt them.

"Deku."

Ohhhhhhhhh crap.

All of a sudden, Midoriya could feel his heart racing, and heck, Momo's heart might've been racing too for Midoriya's sake.

The hug ended as the two looked at the person responsible for giving Midoriya the Deku nickname.

Bakugo.

The spiky blond-haired kid could only stare at them for a few moments, as you could literally feel the tension surrounding the area.

You wanna know the thing about this, though?

The tension was only coming from Midoriya and Momo, because they had no idea if Bakugo heard the entire story or not.

Midoriya was sweating absolute bullets. In a few more seconds, he might be wetting his pants.

"H-Hey, Kacchan." Midoriya managed to say, not sure if he should be getting ready for the fight of his lifetime or run away as far as humanly possible.

Bakugo continued to stare, but his intense gaze that was usually filled with anger, was only filled with sadness now. Once Midoriya started to notice this for himself, he began to let his guard down.

"I had to bury my own mother today." Bakugo outright said, his voice almost breaking in uttering those words.

Midoriya's eyes widened at this, and so did Momo's. Never before have they seen this side of the guy who's usually always pissed off at the world.

Midoriya knew he had to say something. "I'm so sorry, Kacchan… I know what it's like to lose a mother." he said honestly, as Bakugo got closer to him.

"These freaks… they killed her, I know they did." Bakugo said, obviously referring to the whole invasion going on with Earth right now. There were signs of the old Bakugo coming out, the anger showing, but it was a different kind of anger from usual. Instead of him always yelling, these words, the way he said them, sent chills down Midoriya's and Momo's spine. Nothing but venom came out of his voice, sounding truly menacing.

"I'll make them pay, every single last one of them." Bakugo said, clenching his fists as he gritted his teeth.

But then, something surprising would happen afterwards.

He looked at Midoriya, as he continued to speak from the heart.

"Deku… You're some of the only family I have left."

Yep, the world, no, the universe might have just ended right there.

Did Bakugo just call Midoriya family?

I mean, it may have been true at a certain point in time, but that was a long time ago.

Shocked couldn't even begin to describe the feelings Midoriya and Momo currently had. At this point, they were trying to make sure this was the actual Bakugo and not some random clone.

Though, it was the truth. Bakugo meant what he said. The only other family he has left is Midoriya, and his father, Masaru Bakugo.

Then if that wasn't enough, the universe might explode for a second time, because guess what he does next?

HE FREAKING HUGS HIM.

Midoriya couldn't believe what was happening right now, and Momo was sure she was hallucinating at this point. Her eyes needed to be checked, whatever it was, something was very, very, very wrong.

Bakugo… hugging?

Those two things should never even be in the same sentence. However, with his mother's death, maybe it's changing him a little.

Maybe there was a chance he and Midoriya could become best friends once again.

With Midoriya seemingly being frozen in time, he had to snap himself out of it, and all he could do was the logical thing.

Bro hug him back.

It didn't last too long, but it happened.

It freaking happened.

Midoriya, now trying to figure out what the heck to say, could only come up with this.

"Momo and I were trying to search for the others. We could always use some extra help, you know." Midoriya said, giving a slight smile.

While Bakugo didn't smile back, his response would be a look of determination. Iida was still missing, along with everyone else.

A change needed to happen in this war, and it needed to happen now.

"Count me in." Bakugo told him, his eyes having nothing but fire in them.

"Oh, but there's one little thing you should probably know…" Midoriya said, Bakugo now tilting his head.

"Eh? What's that?"

Midoriya wouldn't be the one to say it, but Momo would.

"We kinda made a deal with Shigaraki to help us."

With Momo saying these words, an awkward silence ensued.

However, this silence wouldn't last for too long, and it would be due to Bakugo turning back into his walking caps lock button self.

"YOU GUYS DID WHAAAAAAT?!"
