At Friedkin University Gwendolyn, dressed in a comfy sweater and some slacks was in Hex's library with a stack of books to the side with several spread out in front of her.

Leaning back with a sigh Gwendolyn drummed her fingers on the table as she hummed. The book before was open to an illustration of the Door to Anywhere…

(Flowing Magics)

Inbetween reality. Between the tick and the tock of the clock. Between space we see a black cloaked figure walking along a road made of nothing, a golden scepter slung over their shoulder.

They had been traveling like this for a while now and finally having their confirmation they reached out with magic telepathically.

Master? I have the scepter but we lost our pawn.

Excellent and I wouldn't worry about the Pearl. We would only get so much use out of her anyway. Are you on your way back?

I would be but… the Timewalker's tailing me currently and I can't seem to shake him. The figure glanced back slightly to where he was just out of sight obscured by various energies was Professor Paradox.

Ah, well we knew that was coming. Proceed as you are, I have phase 3 covered, I think I've found a new pawn to work with. A bit of a buffoon but he should suffice and I'll prepare for the Timewalker too.

Very well, to phase 3 then Master, good fortune to you.

Empire City. It had been a few weeks since the "Dark Pearl" incident. Things had mostly settled since then.

Connie had confided in her parents and after being grounded for a few weeks her training in magic had gone forward. Though she still felt like she coming up short in other areas…

Though there had been improvements in other areas.

A shriek went through the night as a would-be mugger in fact the same mugger from before the Dark Pearl Incident was once again trying to shake some poor bystander down but once again…

"HALT VILLAIN!" The mugger groaned.

"Your trespasses will not go unpunished for"

"Do you two freaks think you can stop me? Last time you got lucky ya hear!"

The freaks insult completely bypassing the duo they merely grinned "it's not just us two"

The mugger blinked and then from behind him "Sup."

He whirled around and there was a boy behind him dressed in blue and orange and looked about as stereotypical superhero as one could get from the eye mask wrapping around the face and knotting at the back to the cape to the fingerless gloves but what really sold it was the superhero symbol on his chest. It looked like a pale blue fist stretched out like a comet while on the front of the fist was a five-point start cut out and spread to either side were two diamonds like dragonfly wings.

"Name's Mana Fist" Ray Ray said with a grin as he pulled back a fist and threw a punch.

From outside the alleyway there was a flash of blue light. Back inside it when it faded Ray Ray watched as the clothes the man had been wearing collapsed to the ground. The man himself wearing only underwear was passed out splayed on the ground with a black eye across the alley next to Fortune Lass and Rose Guard who looked at everything in interest.

(For those wondering the mugger's victim may or may not have passed out eyes wide open and was just frozen.)

"…I have no idea how that happened" Mana Fist said with a shrug.

"Eh" Rose Guard said with a shrug "we'll figure it out."

Then came the red and blue of sirens.

And with them came Amethyst's purple stretchy dragging them all up and into her helicopter shape where Garnet, Pearl, Steven's dad, Connie's parents, and Monroe were all waiting as the group took off there was critique on their fight, ways to improve, Monroe saying he needs to adjust Ray Ray's gloves and everyone could hear him even the parents and hadn't that been a shock so yeah the future the future really did have a lot of possibilities.

Author's Note: NEVER AGAIN! NEVER AGAIN WILL I DO THIS SORT OF MASS UPDATE FOR A FIC LIKE THIS! Ugh to everyone following this story I am so sorry for the long wait for this amount. I suppose I should explain what happened, in chapters 8 and 9 Connie made a deal with magic and in my head, I was worried about what people would say so in my head I thought it would be better if I just buried that scene under the rest of the fic. It made sense in my head and by the time things went the other way I was kinda locked in and I can be rather stubborn in staying to my course and seeing it through when the situation calls for it. So, as I was slogging along with these chapters and drawings, my tendency to get stuck in a hole, being a slug, and life in general happened. But I made finishing this fic my priority for the year and here on the final day of the year here it is. Again, sorry to everyone who had been waiting, thanks for the support, and I hoped you like this. The next installment of the Flowing Magics series will take a bit as frankly I need to give my other fics love and attention and I never figured out how I want to tell the tales that take place between the main installments of the Flowing Magics series (if you have input for that I would love to hear it) so that's a thing.
