Author's note: I use almost all the starfighter pilots I can find in this story. Since it doesn't follow The Last Jedi or The Rise of Skywalker I use any pilot I can find. I also don't really follow Star Wars comics or books, canon or EU in this fanfiction story.
Resistance Headquarters cruiser Audacious
Meeting Room
Around the same time
"Thank you for your time," Varlorous nodded to the personnel officer. "Now get me Commander Dameron."
Varlorous' staff officer nodded and headed out. He returned quickly, announcing that Poe Dameron was not around.
"Find him! He can't have left the ship or the fleet!" Varlorous screamed.
Poe was in fact in hyperspace. he managed to get the main radar officer drunk and give him stomach ache with drug, allowing him to slip away from the fleet. He entered real space into the Anoat system. Ahead of him were Iolo Arana and Zari Bangel win their T-70 X-Wings. Both starfighter pilots also managed to slip pass any Resistance detection. The Anoat system was relatively quiet after the Battle of Endor but now had a heavy First Order Presence.
There were two squadrons of TIE/fo space superiority fighters, one squadron of
TIE/sf space superiority fighters and a squadron of Imperial TIE/IN interceptors. Despite being heavily outnumbered, Iolo and Zari increased their speed rapidly, surprising the First Order personnel. The pair tackled the older TIE Interceptors first, with Iolo taking out four TIE Interceptors, nearly getting struck by the laser beams from the second last interceptor. Zari destroyed six other Interceptors, decimating most of that squadron. The newer TIEs definitely noticed and chased after the duo with three TIE/fos on Iolo's tail and a pair of the Special Forces TIE/sf on zooming around Zari.
"You won't get me," Zari growled and twirled her T-70 n a massive swirl, causing the TIEs to be confused and one of them shot his own colleague. Zari managed to turn and destroy the remaining TIE/sfs despite their heavy shielding and one of them preparing to jump into hyperspace. Iolo was not so lucky as the pair of TIE/fos was still on his tail. Zari approached and destroyed one of them, allowing Iolo to zap the other. Both resistance fighters then continued to attack the remaining TIEs, decimating most of them. Just then, a Resurgent-class Star Destroyer appeared and deployed more TIE/sfs and even First Order TIE bombers.
"Time to bug out people. That was an excellent job," Poe radioed. Zari and Iolo clicked their intercoms in response and despite the reinforcements closing on them, the pair along with Poe managed to escape into hyperspace.
Planet Jedha
Jedha City
Rey and Jessika were working furiously to repair their shuttle but nothing was improving. Rey slapped the computer in disgust and Jess remarked, "Would it helped if I got out and pushed?" Remembering the quote she learnt from the late General Leia Organa.
"It..." Rey's reply was cut off as a serious of explosions knocked the two girls off their feet and threw them against the nearby wall. "What, now?" Jess asked, rubbing her back. They heard the main door snap open and angry voices. "Looks like I won't be heading out," She growled and reached for her DH-17 blaster pistol. She fired off a dozen shots but this didn't deter the advancing bounty hunter. Rey meanwhile closed her eyes and lifted a box of tools with the help of the Force. That knocked the bounty hunter's assistant backwards but the bounty hunter himself, or rather itself, kept advancing. Jess picked up a blaster rifle the henchmen dropped - she later learnt it was a F-11D blaster rifle - and fired more shots wildly while Rey summoned all her knowledge of the Force and managed a strong Force Push, throwing the intruders back out and locking the hatch tight. Jess breathed a sigh of relief but her Jedi friend tugged her and they both returned fixing their ship.
Bespin, Anoat System
Just after the attack on the wider system
As Iolo and Zari slipped back to the fleet, a trio of X-Wings consisting of Niv Lek, Nien Numb and Teffer emerged out of hyperspace along with Poe again watching from a distance. Bespin used to be fairly neutral after the Battle of Endor and only several minor Imperia-Alliance and First Order-Resistance skirmishes. Surrounding Bespin were two squadrons of TIE/sf space superiority fighters and Light Cruiser. The trio made a quick private discussion and decided to attack the TIEs first. Swooping in, Lek and Numb took out four fighters each while Teffer failed to strike any fighters. Instead, a quartet of TIE/sfs chased after him. Teffer dodged all the fire but his BB-unit was fried by one shot.
"Guys, need some help here," he radioed. Nien and Niv turned and managed to destroy three of the TIE/sfs, allowing Teffer to score his first hit. The trio tackled the other TIEs, this time Lek's BB unit got struck but not so badly as Teffer's. It managed to repair itself and tighten loose panel of Lek's T-70. The Resistance pilots fought wildly against the larger number of opponents, resulting in more TIE/sfs destroyed. The light cruiser attempted to escape but the starfighter pilots fired rapid shots from their KX12 laser cannons and proton torpedoes from their MG7-A torpedo launchers. Nien Numb, veteran of the Battle of Endor and Battle of Starkiller Base made the crucial and deadly shots, disabling the shields and destroying the command bridge, causing the cruiser to rapidly spin away. Unknown to the Resistance pilots, the citizens of Cloud City were cheering wildly.
Planet Jedha
Jedha City
The two girls heart leapt as their shuttle's engine tarted but shook their heads as the engines stop once again. "It's the external coupling," Jess groaned. "We've got to get outside to strengthen it."
"I'll go," Rey responded. "I've fixed many engines on Jakku."
"The bounty hunter and his gang are still outside," Jess argued just as more laser blasts and shots were heard, "They want you bad, I'll go." Jess picked up the F-11D blaster rifle and headed out through the emergency hatch. The bounty hunter and his assistant were definitely still outside but Jess stealthily made it to the craft's engines, noticed the broken and uncoupled parts and rapidly fixed them. As she headed back, she spotted a shiny data disk and picked it up. Just as she did, blaster shots rang out but suddenly she felt a strong pull and was back in the shuttle. "Sorry about that; was for your safety," Jess said, then the engines roared and with the girls blasting their adversaries with heavy laser fire, they launched their shuttle into space and hyperspace. "Whee!" Jess celebrated.
"Where to now?" She asked but Rey busy fixing the last parts of her new lightsaber. She powered it up, but it came up halt way then powered down itself. "Blaster bolts! I need a better modulation circuit," she whined then headed to the console to search. "Ok, the nearest planet that has shops selling modulation circuits is Coruscant."
Planet Naboo
Just a short time after
RZ-2 A-wings flown by L'ulo L'ampar, Greer Sonnel and Tallissan Lintra burst out of hyperspace, this time without Poe following them. "Ready, guys?" L'ulo radioed.
"Ready!" Greer acknowledged, remembering she was flying in honour of the late General Organa.
There wasn't a response from Tallissan. "Tallie? Tallie?" L'ulo called. Tallie was dreaming of how she could vie for Poe's good books and take Jessika's place. "Yeah, ready," she finally radioed. The trio knocked out the orbiting TIE/sfs which were harassing the unarmed shuttles coming out of the planet. Just as the Resistance pilots thought they were victorious, an Interdictor-class Star Destroyer and a Resurgent-class Star Destroyer popped out of hyperspace.
"Uh-oh," Tallie groaned.
Somewhere in hyperspace
"Coruscant?! Rey, no way we're heading there. That's...that was the Old Republic Capital, Imperial Capital and filled with such people. No way!" Jess shouted.
"But...the news reports says there is very little First Order presence there now," Rey printed out a series of articles. "I need the equipment."
Jess still shook her head and folded her arms. Rey didn't want to use a Force mind trick on her friend, but neared her and pleaded.
"Ok...ok. we can't stay in hyperspace for long without a course," Jess muttered. "But one small presence of a bounty hunter or a First Order personnel, I'm bugging off," she set course for that planet.
