"Huh? What is happening?" Tails looks up as red lights started to blare around them.

"Its a Code Red, something major is happening." Rouge said, moving towards the elevator and pressed the button. At the same time, she looks at her wrist device. "A contamination breech?"

"You don't think its the beryl, right?"

"Only one way to find out, i'll contact the director right away." She taps on her communicator to get in touch. "Director? This is Rouge, what is going on?"

"Rouge? It bad." Weather said, grimacing as she speaks. "That gemstone escaped and was chasing Sonic, so Code Red protocol is in place and they are trapped in Sector 5."

The agent frowns, the hedgehog is in trouble and is in need of help. "I understand, we will make our way up as soon as possible. Rouge out." The call ends, and there is something that has been thinking about; where is Knuckles? The elevator door opens up, only to see that there is a inward hole on the bottom and the roof hatch is open. She steps in, waiting for Tails to follow her inside, they would have the leave the cells for now, also leaving behind Miles and his stuff. The two of them are placed inside, even with minimal damage like this, the lift is still operational.

Miles has been quiet, even when the red alert is blaring above. From his position, he is calm inside of his cell. Little did they know that he has little to worry about despite the chaos that is unfolding.

Medical Room

Vidette opens her eyes, blurred at first but it quickly recovers. While sitting up, she tries to focus as her mind is foggy. The last thing that she remembers were flashing lights and the feeling of being separated by a strong force. Now, she feels no pain, a horrible sensation of being an unworthy host to a hostile gem. Somehow, she survived that.

" Vivi! She is awake!" Charmy flew and landed on the end of the bed.

"Charmy, don't jump on the bed like that." Espio grunts at the young bee, but he does move at the side of the bed. "Are you alright?"

"Better than ever." She respond, looking around the room. "Hm, It is just the two of you here?"

"Yep! Vector is off looking for food, I am hoping that he brings back honey and peanut butter sandwiches." The young bee said, rubbing his stomach. Vidette nods, feeling relief for the first time in a long while.

"Very well, but where is the beryl?" She asked.

"Thanks to Knuckle's efforts, it has been sealed, and carried off." Espio confirms. "Now they are working on a solution to do something about it. So far,everyone is doing their own thing."

The pink chameleon remove the blanket that is covering her body, thankfully very much clothed. She is sitting on the side of the bed now, drained but she is strong enough to walk on her own.

"Thanks for looking after me. Now that the beryl has been removed, there is only one thing left...to see it destroyed or sealed away." She said, but she doesn't know how either will be accomplished yet. "But for now, i'll-" Suddenly, there is a alarm that caught everyone's attention. Its not in the room, but it is loud enough from the outside.

They stood at first, then move to the door that lead to he outside corridor. The red light on the ceiling are blaring and personnel are moving quickly, and they are just in time to see Vector moving around he corner heading towards them.

"Geez! Its one thing after another!" He hissed with urgency. "We have a problem, the guys running around saying that this is a containment breech. Of what, I don't know."

"Oh no..." Vidette grimaced at this, it could only mean one thing in her mind. "I want to see what is happening, if it the beryl, then we have to help them."

The Chaotix are in agreement, they are separate from Sonic and the other. If they would get more information, then they would get there and see what they can do. The group moved closer to the humans that are still running around and Vector placed a hand on a man's shoulder to stop him.

"Hey pal, where is the thing?" He asked,

"U-Uh, Sector 5, it's one level up. The area is on lock-down, only specialized personnel are allowed to be in the affected zone."

"Thanks." The crocodile let go, and now they know where to go. The Chaotix and Vidette runs, following the crowd of soldiers that are heading for a staircase for quicker access. They are right on the tail of the GUN soldiers as they ascend. It doesn't seem like a easy climb either as it is a spiral going up. "Long way up, but we got to hurry."

Vidette climbs on the railing and jumps up to the next one upwards, grabbing the metal bar and flipping her body forward and lands on her feet. Her being a ninja, her balance and agility is smooth. She isn't the only one as Espio follows with the same ninja like agility, landing on the railing bar beside her. Charmy effortlessly flies upwards, but not fast enough to keep up with the two chameleons as they ascend. Vector is using his legs, taking the stairs normally, running up until he made it to Level 5. He is the last to arrive, and the door is already open up for them to enter.

Sector 5 Corridor

Tails is the first one to leave the elevator and is presented with three paths, only two of them are blocked by bulkheads. He knows that Sonic is here, but doesn't know his exact location. They have no choice but to go forward, the one path that is open in front of them. "Sonic! Sonic! Are you ok?" He tries to communicate with him, but only receives static. He and Rouge ran as fast as they could, and they almost ran into another group while rounding the corner. "Oh! Chaotix!"

Tails skids to a stop as he bumped into the Chaotix, both groups look at each other.

"Hey, nice running into you here." Vector greeted them, and now they have combined into one group. They turn to see bright flashes at the end of the corridor, along with shouting and the soldiers retreating, keeping a safe distance. The group follow the flashing light, stopping short of the corner as they didn't want to throw themselves into danger just yet. Peeking their heads, they can seeing the beryl itself floating in the air near a closed bulkhead door. On the other side must be Sonic, the beryl is trying within it's might to get to him.

"What are we going to do? How are we going to stop it?" Rouge wonder aloud, they do not have the power to contain such an object on their own. The gem ceased with ramming itself on the heavily steel door, hovering it the air for a few moments before it emits a bright flash, and the gem disappeared from sight. They were shocked, quickly moving into the open since it is safe enough to do so.

"Its gone! What happened?" Vector looks around, shocked that it could vanish like that.

"I-I think it might have used Teleportation." Tails trails his words, of course it did. If it have the same powers, it could do almost anything. "Its probably something akin to Chaos Control...oh no..." The realization hit him, and he tries to get in contact with Sonic. "Sonic! Sonic!" There is no response on the other side, just static.

The hedgehog is still trapped in, watching the relentless assault on the bulkhead that is keeping him safe for the time being. At the same time, he has no means for escape, and it is making him anxious. He can run, but it would only drag out the chase. The communicator he has doesn't seem to be working, otherwise he would talk to Tails, but at least Director Weather is seeing this. Sonic is pacing, trying to drown out the loud clanking of metal, he would rather have the lock down lifted so he can get out of here, who know what could happen. What he didn't notice is that it stopped, the gem on the other side doesn't seem to be active anymore. What he does see is a light shining above turning into a flash, causing him to cover his eyes a bit before it ceased. That is when he saw it, the Anarchy Beryl is hovering above him, slowly descending.

"Aw geez, you gotta be kidding!" He backs away from it, eventually his back hitting the bulkhead door that is preventing his escape. "Weather! Hey Weather, open the door!"

It is his only chance, he cannot let the thing get any closer as he can already feel dizzy from looking at it. He is trying not to look at it, as there was this gravitation once he took a peek a couple of times. It is like it is coaxing him as it approaches, and he fears that he might give in. He could barely register what is around him, there is a muffled voice, was it his own? He couldn't tell, but then he fell backwards, falling on the floor which Sonic's senses are becoming normal again. He can hear a voice clearly right now, coming from over the speaker.

"Sonic the Hedgehog, didn't you hear me? You have to get out of there!" It was Weather's voice, and he gotten the message loud and clear. Looking behind him, the bulkhead door has lifted enough for him to make a run for it, and he certainly does so by spin dashing away from the gem. The other doors are opening for him as the chase resumes, the beryl is in pursuit. "Sonic, your friends are right behind you." He only nods, daring not to look back at the thing that is chasing him.

"Whoa!" Sonic gasped as the beryl teleports in front of his path, blocking him from moving forward. There is a fork, so he swerves left and kept going until he came across a door at the end, possibly leading into another elevator. Other than that, he is stuck once again. He pressed the button on the side panel for the door to open, not caring where it will lead him. "Come on, come on..." He grits his teeth, it is taking too long for him. The beryl is at the end of the hall, and it would most likely reach him before the door would open for him. "Crap..."

"Sonic!" That was Tails' voice, they were following behind after all. He couldn't see because he has to block his eyes from the beryl, least he gets pulled in.

"Tails! Stay back! Its me that it wants!" He wouldn't put their lives in danger, if they interfere who knows what would happen.

"We are not going to let that thing touch you!" Vidette shouted, not wanting Sonic to be corrupted. She will not let it happen again, it has done too much damage already. The young fox raise his hand in the air, and appears his arm cannon, aiming it at the beryl before firing balls of energy. The impact is doing nothing, as the blasts harmlessly bouncing off its smooth surface.

"How about we give this a try?" Rouge has something in her hand, it looks like a spiracle object with a pink heart. "This is an experimental bomb, might as well use it." She suggested, as she takes a running start and threw it. It sticks to the surface of the beryl successfully, but the bat run shouts to the trapped hedgehog. "Its going to blow!" Within 2 seconds, the bomb went off, causing an explosion. The blast was thankfully far from Sonic and the others, but it damaged the corridor regardless, leaving smoke and debris. Once it has cleared, the beryl is still floating, it has stopped it's approach looking completely unscathed from the explosion. From its surface, a white ball of light appears before it was followed by laser blast right at the small group.

"Look out!" They jump out of the way from the oncoming laser, but Rouge cries out in pain as her left wing was grazed but very much scorched. She had used her wings to try and slide away from the beam, but she wasn't fast enough, and now is suffering from the searing pain as the top edge is steaming from the heat.

"Rouge!" The Chaotix and Tails moves in around the bat to protect her, Vidette helps her on her feet while being mindful of her wing.

"You stupid rock! Don't you know how to treat a lady?" Vector sneers at the beryl, and the mythical object creates another white ball again, only to be pelted by bullets. Behind the group there comes a line of GUN robots, Hunter models along with the flying Mono Beetles. They couldn't tell how many have been packed at the end of the hall, but it is providing the distraction they need as the group move among the wall, the beryl focused its attention on the attacking robots while its original targets passed it unnoticed towards Sonic.

The door behind the hedgehog finally opens, leading to a dark tube to somewhere unknown, but it is better than staying here. "Guys, this way!" He ushers them quickly into the dark pathway and follows before the door closes. "Is everyone ok?" He asked.

"Ugh...Its only a scratch." Rouge answers, shivering against the pink chameleon.

"Sorry Rouge, but we have to keep going." Sonic frowns, they cannot stay here for long. "Where does this lead?"

"I don't know...guess we will find out soon enough." The floor lights brighten up the path for them to see, but at the end is still unknown to them.

"We have no choice, we have to go quickly." Tails ushers, and they quickly as possible follow the tube to its conclusion.

Containment Room

"Ugh..." Purple eyes flicker to life, moving slowly as he could see the green glow in the corner of his eyes. Knuckles realize that he is on the cold floor, right beside the Master Emerald, thankfully not shattered. "Thank goodness...Sonic?" He looks around, the containment room was destroyed, and without a single soul around him. There is an alarm going off, but that isn't important. Knuckles stumbles standing up, places both hands on the emerald as it gives a warm glow that healed his body. After the process, he turns to scan the room once again, finding the three Chaos Emerald on the ground.

"...The beryl!" He snap his head to the containment capsule where the gem was kept, but it wasn't there. He collected the emeralds, and dashed out into the hallway. He has to find the hedgehog as soon as he can. He can sense chaos energy, and follows it as he climbs up the elevator shaft for quicker access.
