Healing the Obese Black Cat

Ruby is seen sitting at a table looking all sad as she is thinking about Blake not going to the dance because she wouldn't let go about Roman and the White Fang, and that is starting to make her worry while Weiss and Yang are helping set up for the dance. That role was originally going to be a second-year Huntsmen team named Team CFVY, but their mission is taking longer to finish than planned and now Team RWBY is doing the job.

"Hmm, I believe this tablecloth is good." Kimi pointed at the tablecloth in Weiss's right hand.

"Thank you, I believe this will go well." Weiss thanked.

Yang and Jotaro came to Ruby while carrying a massive speaker box on their shoulders and setting them down which causes Ruby to bounce a little.

"So, have you picked out a dress yet?" Yang asked her little sister.

"What's the point? Who cares about the dance if Blake isn't going?" Ruby exclaimed.

"I know you're worry about Blake since she won't stop thinking about the White Fang and all, we all are." Jotaro stated.

"Don't worry, she is going as Kimi and I are going to make sure of that." Yang assured, she turns to see Weiss and gasp.

"Weiss! I thought we agreed: No doilies!" Yang complained.

"If I don't get doilies, you don't get fog machines!" Weiss walked up to Yang and pointed her finger to her teammate's face.

"Your dance is gonna have fog machines?" Neptune asked as he and Sun walks up to them.

"We're still deciding on that." Kimi answered.

"That's pretty cool." Neptune excited.

"You ladies all excited for dress-up?" Sun asked teasing.

"Pfft... Yeah, right!" Ruby laughed a little.

"Laugh all you want. I'll be turning heads tomorrow night!" Yang proclaimed.

"What if all those heads will be turning to me!" Kimi winked.

"What are you two wearing?" Weiss asked Neptune and Sun.

"Uh, this." Sun gestured to his current outfit.

"You know the dance calls for a suit and a tie, right?" Jotaro reminded him.

"Yeah, you could say he's not into fashion." Neptune sighed.

"Hey, I may have moved to Mistral, but I grew up in Vacuo. It's not exactly a shirt-and-tie kind of place." Sun bragged.

"Yeah, we noticed." Yang said with the obvious look on her face as Ruby and Weiss are doing the same expression.

"So, what does Blake think of all this or she is still… you know?" Sun asked.

"Obviously." Weiss crossed her arms.

"I still can't think of a way to change her mind." Ruby worried.

"Guys. Trust me when I say she will be at the dance tomorrow." Yang promised.

"And I will help to be make sure that happens." Kimi added.

(With Blake)

Blake is doing some research on a computer in the library trying to find any details and information about the White Fang though couldn't find anything, but that didn't mean she would stop until a red dot suddenly appeared on the screen. Blake finds that strange as it doesn't appear to be from the computer and turns around trying to see where it came from but saw nothing before going back to the computer which the red dot appears again. Finding this annoying, Blake decided to follow the red dot and give him/her a piece of her mind and get back to her search until she stops when the red dot disappear then suddenly Kimi and Yang appear in front of them.

"He-lloooo!" Kimi and Yang greeted together.

"What are you two" Blake's question was cut off when they grab her by the arms.

"We need to talk." Yang said.

"And this cannot wait." Kimi said.

Kimi and Yang drag Blake into one of the large empty classrooms as they place her on a desk.

"Yang, Kimi, if you're going to tell me to stop, you may as well save your breath." Blake said.

"We're here to stop you." Yang said.

"Yes, we are just came to tell you to slow down." Kimi mentioned.

"I don't have the luxury to slow down." Blake glared.

"It's not a luxury; it's a necessity." Yang stated.

"The "necessity" is stopping Torchwick." Blake believed then felt a pair of hands grabbing on her shoulders, she turns around seeing Kimi.

"Easy there, Blake. Stopping Roman is still our goal like yours, but why don't you just sit down and listen to what we have to say." Kimi advised.

"…Fine." Blake decided to at least hear them out.

"The way you want your goal reminds me when I was a kid." Yang mentioned.

"Ruby and I grew up in Patch, an island off the coast of Vale. Our parents were Huntsmen. Our dad taught at Signal, and our mom took on missions around the kingdom. Her name was Summer Rose, and she was, like... Super-Mom: Baker of cookies and slayer of giant monsters. And then... one day she left for a mission and never came back." Yang explained, feeling sad remember the day some men told her dad the news. Blake looks sad for Yang as does Kimi as she never knew her father growing up.

"It was tough. Ruby was really torn up, but... I think she was still too young to really get what was going on, y'know? And my dad just kind of... shut down. It wasn't long before I learned why. Summer wasn't the first love he lost; she was the second. The first... was my mom." Yang mentioned.

"Oh my, your father must have been quite the ladies man." Kimi commented.

"I guess he was… But he wouldn't tell me everything, but I learned that the two of them had been on a team together with Summer and Qrow, and that she'd left me with him right after I was born. No one had seen her since." Yang explained.

"Well, that just rude." Kimi pouted.

"Why did she leave you?" Blake asked as Kimi is wondering about that as well.

"That question... Why? I didn't know an answer, but I was determined to find out. It was all I thought about. I would ask anyone I could about what they knew about her." Yang walked to the chalkboard and pick up a piece of chalk.

(Flashback, Years Ago)

The scene shows Yang as a little girl with orange ribbons to hold up her pigtails as she looks at a broken picture frame with curiosity in her eyes.

"Then, one day, I found something. What I thought was a clue that could lead me to answers, or maybe even my mother." Yang said.

Little Yang is now seen walking through a path in a forest while dragging a red wagon right behind her with little Ruby sleeping inside wrap in the red hood.

"I waited for Dad to leave the house, put Ruby in a wagon, and headed out. I must've walked for hours. I had cuts and bruises, I was totally exhausted, but I wasn't gonna let anything stop me." Yang mentioned.

Little Yang was panting hard as she kept walking until she arrives at the house that was on the photo and felt like her legs are being turn in jelly.

"When we finally got there, I could barely stand, but I didn't care; I had made it. And then I saw them. Those burning red eyes..." Yang remembered how scared she was.

Then red glowing eyes appear and come out were Beowulves crawling out of the house and glaring at Little Yang who is becoming frighten.

"There we were: A toddler sleeping in the back of a wagon and a stupid girl too exhausted to even cry for help. We might as well have been served on a silver platter. But, as luck would have it, our uncle showed up just in time." Yang mentioned.

A Beowulf jumps into the air and ready to pounce on the two little girls, but that Beowulf got cut in half by a man with a large scythe coming to the rescue.

(Flashback End)

Yang has just finish drawing the emblem of her Uncle and put the chalk down.

"My stubbornness should've gotten us killed that night." Yang said.

"Yang... I'm sorry that happened to you, and I understand what you're trying to tell me, but this is different. I'm not a child, and this isn't just a search for answers! I can't just" Blake's sentence was interrupted when Kimi bobs her on the head.

"Silly goose, didn't you hear a word we said? We're not stopping you, just slow down." Kimi stated.

"She's right, I haven't stop. To this day, I still want to know what happened to my mother and why she left me, but I will never let that search control me. We're going to find the answers we're looking for, Blake. But if we destroy ourselves in the process, what good are we?" Yang pointed out.

"You don't understand! I'm the only one who can do this!" Blake proclaimed.

"Oh really, then you're a bigger fool than you thought!" Kimi grabbed Blake's shoulder forcing to turn her around, and unleashed her powerful slap sent Blake flying and spinning so fast that a tornado form around.

"Holy shit, now that's a slap!" Yang gasped.

Kimi jumps to grab Blake by the shirt, stopping the tornado, and they drop to the floor as Kimi held her friend up on her feet.

"Since Yang told you her story, I'm going to tell my mine as well." Kimi pushed Blake to sit down on the desk.

"I had a friend when I was seven years old, me and my brother used to be together with that friend, not only that but my brother used to be in love with that friend which was adorable." Kimi looked up at the window.

"However, her young life was short lived… You see, she died in an accident on the street by a carriage her father was in. You can imagine how sad he was, and I think my brother took it the worst." Kimi explained.

"Did… did you cheered him up?" Blake asked.

"My foolish brother refused to do anything from his depression of losing the girl he loved, won't eat a damn thing our mother served in front of him for days. I finally decided that enough is enough and toss my brother through the window." Kimi answered.

"Wow, that's dramatic." Yang sweatdropped.

"After that, I stuffed some spicy seasons in his mouth to make him feel the pain. The pain that he is alive, I told to laugh, cry, and do all other things people do and also reminded him that the girl he loved is gone while he still lives." Kimi remembered that time.

"At that time, it was the only time I have ever cried and never shed a single tear since. Years later, my brother took those words to heart and moved on with his life, eventually finding a new love with two more. I was very happy to see that my brother has become such a bright young man." Kimi said before turning to Blake.

"So, you see Blake, if you continue to let the past haunt you and try to do something you can't control then you'll end up kicking the bucket, leaving the ones who care for you behind like your friends and family. You wouldn't that to happen, would you?" Kimi asked.

"No, I don't…" Blake started to realize how much of a fool she has been to her team and friends.

"So, Blake, will you come to dance and have fun with us?" Kimi asked.

"Sure, I'll go." Blake nodded.

"Good, you should also apologize to Sun since he went out of his way to ask you out." Kimi mentioned.

"Sun! Oh my Remnant, he must think I'm a bitch now!" Blake worried covering her face with her hands.

"Of course, he still cares for you." Kimi assured.

"And you owe us big time for having us worry a lot about you." Yang pointed out.

"Right, I'll make it up to you guys. Promise." Blake nodded.

"Excellent, now if you'll excuse me. I must get myself ready for the dance." Kimi walked away.

"Hey Kimi, there is actually something I want to talk to you about." Yang followed her.

(Tomorrow Night, The Dance)

"Never thought I had to wear this, fancy suits like this aren't really my style." Jotaro said while looking at himself in the mirror in his black suit with gold lines.

"The dance calls for a dress code and you have to look your absolute best." Kimi stated as she brushes on his suit making sure it doesn't have any wrinkles. She wears a beautiful white dress with several bows, opening for her hips, and elbow length gloves.

"Okay, now you are ready!" Kimi excited and hug Jotaro's arm making him blush.

"Yare yare daze, you're becoming a little clingy." Jotaro sighed.

"Maybe, but I can promise you a great time tonight." Kimi said with a cute smile.

Jotaro smiles thinking going to a dance won't be so bad and the two made their way to the hall where the dance is being held and see Yang standing at a podium.

"Hey guys, so glad you could make it!" Yang smiled seeing Jotaro and Kimi here. She is now wearing a short, white, halter neck dress with a pale gray hem and white pumps.

"Happy to be here." Kimi greeted.

"Not all happy if you ask me." Ruby groaned. Her dance dress is a short, red, sleeveless dress with a thick black sash around the waist and black trim along the bottom. The bodice of the dress is split vertically to the sash and laced with black lacing. The yoke of the dress is transparent mesh with an opaque collar and hem, as well as opaque lines connecting the collar to her shoulders. She also wears black stockings and pumps.

"Oh, don't you look so cute!" Kimi complimented.

"I know, I was telling her that." Yang grinned.

"I don't see what's so special about wearing these kinds of shoes, they're really hard to walk on." Ruby complained about the high heels.

"Do not worry, you just need to practice a little like walking and you'll get the hang of it in no time!" Kimi advised.

Meanwhile, Sun is on his way to the dance wearing with the only fancy clothing he is wearing is a black shirt and a white tie which he is having a hard time adjusting to.

"Stupid... dumb... neck trap!" Sun complained.

"I knew you'd look better in a tie." Blake complimented.

Sun stops fighting the tie and turns around becoming shock of seeing Blake in a beautiful dress.

Blake's dress a short, purple, asymmetrical, halter neck dress that is split up the right side and has a black collar. Translucent black mesh covers her shoulders, decolletage and back, and decorative black swirls cover the left side of the dress and continue up the left strap. The outfit is completed with black pumps, and she wears a teal bow on her head as opposed to her usual black one.

"Whoa!" Sun said as Blake walks up to him and help adjust the tie.

"Sooo, does this mean we're going... together?" Sun asked.

"Technically, yes though my first dance is already spoken for." Blake smiled.

At the dance, Yang and Blake are seen dancing together until they stop and bow to each other before Sun comes in for his turn to dance with Blake.

"I told you she would come." Yang smirked as they watch Blake smile and laugh.

"Yep, she has finally seen the brighter side in life." Kimi giggled.

"Well then, mission accomplished." Weiss said, feeling proud of her two friends. Her dress is a short, white, sleeveless dress with cutouts on both sides of her waist. The yoke of the dress is translucent mesh and she also wears white pumps.

"Soooo, what do we do now?" Ruby asked.

"Just have fun!" Yang said as she and Weiss leaves with Kimi wanting to look around.

"Does that mean I can change out of these stupid things and into my hood now?" Ruby asked, but they ignore her.

"Yeah, I'm not into these things either." Jotaro said.

"Not enjoying yourself?" Ozpin asked walking up to them.

"I always thought going to parties like these would be a waste of my time." Jotaro expressed his opinion.

"Well, you can't spend your whole life on the battlefield, even if you may want to." Ozpin pointed out.

"Yeah, that lesson's been floating around a lot lately." Ruby annoyed with her arms cross.

"If you think about it, fighting and dancing aren't so different. Two partners interlocked, although one wrong move on the ballroom merely leads to a swollen foot." Ozpin explained.

"Or a twisted ankle." Ruby said.

"I'm getting what you're saying: time has a way of testing our bond and at nights like this is where we can all join together to have the time we'll never forget. Did I get that right?" Jotaro asked.

"Couldn't have said it better myself." Ozpin nodded.

Jotaro look at everyone enjoying themselves at the dance and seeing the smiles on their faces, getting the feeling that he will experience those things too and wonder if his friends and family from his old world would enjoy this as well.
