Chapter 9: Revealing the Truth Part 1

Silence….. Silence is the only thing anyone can hear as they all continue to gather within the Domino Museum. For not even moments beforehand was everyone graced with the presents of Arainaina, Yami's long lost sister and Princess of Ancient Egypt. The image before them didn't last long but it was enough for the others to finally see her.

"DUDE?... What just happened?" ask's Marik in a whisper as he tries to make sense of what just happened all the while looking to Bakura and the others for answers.

"I-I think Arai just tried to make contact with us" answers Bakura as he looks to Marik and then to where Yami still currently stood.

"Idiots" mumbles Seto before he moves toward Yami. Once close enough to Yami, does Seto extend a hand. "Need a hand?".

Blinking, Yami finally looks to Seto and his outstretched hand. "Thanks" murmurs Yami as he takes the offered hand just as Seto hoists him up off the ground, neither one caring who saw them for tonight Yami had learned a great deal of things most in which weren't making any sense to him while others kept racing towards his sister the young girl he was unable to hold just seconds before hand.

Once off the ground and another quick thanks to Seto, Yami turns his gaze over to where Joesaika had stood who's spot now stood vacant. "Looks like our answers are over for the night" remarks Yami who decided it was time to leave as well.

"Hey, where's Yugi?" asks Heila who finally noticed that Yugi wasn't with them at all.

"Here I am," remarks Yugi, causing everyone else to turn and look at him. "Sorry I was looking in a different area".

"No biggie… but you totally missed it. Arai appeared to everyone in the room" answers Heila as she moves to stand next to Yugi.

"I Know"

"HOW?"

"She appeared before me too," admits Yugi.

Upon hearing that Yami turns to look at Yugi too. 'That must be what she meant when she said her link to me was weak….she spent most of her energy with Aibou'.

"No matter, I think it's high time we left this place and consider coming back another day, for now I say he hit the road and get back to Seto's maybe we can go threw everything we've learned so far and try to put together the pieces" remarks Malik who was throwing out suggestions for nobody had been keeping track of time and everyone was just now noticing how late it was getting since they first arrived at the museum.

"Agreed" and just like that everyone moves to leave the museum, some heading towards their own homes while those who were left headed back to Seto's. Meanwhile, Arai on the other hand had long since vanished back into the Puzzle and was now currently resting inside her soulroom, a room that much looked like her room back in Ancient Egypt, yet a room that stayed silently hidden within the Millennium Puzzle.

"Princess? Are you back?" calls a voice from the otherside of her door. But when the figure in question doesn't receive a response does the figure grow with concern. "Princess?" again the voice calls out but like before no response.

Taking a deep breath, the figure moves to open the door only to glance over at the bed and to the sleeping figure inside it. "She must have over done her shadow magic" murmurs the figure as he moves to sit next her while running fingers through her hair.

"M-Mahado?" murmurs Arai as she begins to stir from her slumber turning to look at the figure before her. "It's me, just rest as I continue to guard over you" murmurs Mahado as he watches Arai fall back to sleep.

Once sure she was sleeping again, Mahado moves to leave the room but not before taking one last glance at the princess. 'My Pharaoh….please hurry' and with that Mahado moves from the room while closing the door behind him.

Meanwhile, back in the realm of the living, Yami, Yugi, and Seto had all made it back to the Kaiba mansion where there greeted by Mokuba. "Welcome back big brother" chirps Mokuba.

"Hey Mokuba" remarks Seto as he moves into the living room, Yugi following shortly behind him as does Mokuba leaving only Yami in the entrance way. "Learn anything new?" asks Mokuba as he moves to sit next to Yugi on the couch.

"Not much, more like more questions than answers" answers Yugi with a sigh for in all truth they were more questions and not so much as the answers they went looking for.

"Bummer" remarks Mokuba with a sigh. "Wait, Isn't there a way we could get Ishizu to help us?".

"No… And unless Ishizu or her Millennium Necklace can give us any answers I'm afraid I have to do this alone" answers Yami from behind them before moving to look at Yugi. "I'm heading upstairs to one of the guest rooms, I'm going to try and make contact with Arai now that I know she's inside the Millennium Puzzle, maybe it'll help clarify some things."

"Okay… I'll be here if you need me" replies Yugi with a determined nod as he watches Yami ascend the stairs up.

Once separated from Yugi and Seto, Yami moves to head back to his and Yugi's joint room. 'Hope this works' thinks Yami as he carefully grabs the Millennium Puzzle that hangs around his neck before entering the room once he approaches the correct room.

Upon entering, Yami moves over to the bed before moving to sit down in the middle of the massive bed. Once stationed on where he wanted to be and making sure he wouldn't be interrupted Yami gently removes the Millennium puzzle before cradling it within his hands and concentrating on his soul room and the link he shared with the puzzle.

When it came down to accessing a soul room, Yami always had it nailed down to the point where it was like second nature and that was exactly how it happened as Yami quickly blinks his eyes before seeing his room within the Millennium puzzle. For what was once a dark and mysterious place had begun to take on shapes and figures as Yami began to learn more about his past. Within, one would see a king size bed with satin sheets, hieroglyphs etched along the walls of the room to indicate royalty along with other small items as well.

"Now….if I was a hidden room where would I hide?" questions Yami as he moves out into the labyrinth of stairs and doors. Normally one could easily get lost within the never ending maze of rooms but today, it seemed as if things were beginning to make sense as if each room held a secret or a memory to his long forgotten past.

Chancing, Yami reaches for the first door he comes upon, bracing himself for any sort of traps he might encounter along the way but as soon as it opens Yami is blinded by a white light and a memory from his past.

Memory #1

"Good Morning my Pharaoh" remarks a voice, causing Yami to turn as he sees none other than Seto, who was dressed in his high priest attire which consisted of royal blues and gold.

"Please Seto, how many times have I told you...when we're alone you can just call me Yami. Not Pharaoh, Not YuGiOh, not even Atemu my birth name" remarks Yami as he tries to sound stern.

At Yami's tone of voice, Seto can't help but smirk for he knew Yami hated formal introductions but Seto got a kick out of it just to see his dear cousin's reaction.

'I don't remember this part' murmurs Yami as he continues to watch the scene unfold before him only to catch a knock on his chamber door. "WHAT?" Shouts Yami, who was annoyed at whoever was disturbing his peaceful morning with his cousin.

But no sooner do the words leave his mouth does the door open to reveal a girl with brown hair and green hazel eyes. "Sorry to interrupt my Pharaoh, but the other five Priests wish to speak with you" replies the girl.

'Arai… Of course this is why I don't remember this part, it appears that any memory that revolves around her is wiped from my actual memories' deducts Yami as he continues to watch the scene before him.

"Tell them I'll be there in a minute Arainaina, thank you for telling me" replies Yami to the girl which draws a smile to her lips before she moves to leave the room which causes the memory to fade as well.

"That was interesting...first time reliving that memory" murmurs Yami as he moves to close the door only to have it fade from sight as if it served its purpose and was now no longer needed.

"O-Okay…"

"Don't be alarmed my Pharaoh, all these rooms will gradually fade from view once the memory is revealed." replies the voice as a figure appears before Yami. "Dark Magician?" asks Yami.

"Yes… but in another time, you used to call me Mahado… I'm one of many who stand guard over you, Yugi and your sister." answers Mahado.

"Stand Guard?" asks Yami.

"Yes… from intruders who seek to harm you or your lights"

"My lights? But Yugi is my only light...how do I have two?"

"All will be made clear as you continue to journey through the puzzle, for now I must head back to the Princess, we will meet again then" and with that Dark Magician vanishes from site.

Once gone from site, Yami quickly shakes his head before moving onto the next door he crosses. "Let's see what's behind this door" and like before as soon as it's open a white light surrounds him before revealing the next memory before him.

Memory #2

Blinking, Yami can't help but notice that he's now standing what appeared to be his throne room, and sitting on top of said throne was none other than Yami himself, his cousin and high priest standing next to him, and judging by the look on his face Yami knew his past self was becoming annoyed and pissed as each second passed.

'I always hated this time of day...having to site on that stupid thrown and listen to annoying people… luckily I have Seto with me' chuckles Yami as he continues to watch and listen.

"My Pharaoh'' calls a guard, as he swings open the throne room doors while another drags in none other than Princess Arainaina, which from the looks of it was a tad too hard for her.

"WHAT?" barks Pharaoh Yami, annoyance written all over his face as the palace guards approach him.

"A-Apologies my Pharaoh… but we caught the Princess outside the palace walls, she was talking to another" answers the guard as they roughly bring the Princess in front of the Pharaoh and her brother.

'Oh no… not good' murmurs Yami as he moves to stand next to the girl only to catch bits of fear rising within her eyes.

"IS THIS TRUE?" growls Pharaoh Yami, which causes the girl to cringe before him.

"Yes...but" but no sooner does she try to speak does the Pharaoh speak again.

"You DARE disobey my rules?" replies Pharaoh Yami to his sister, completely ignoring the fact she was on the verge of tears.

"You didn't let me finish, I found the Angel from the Prophecy, the one sent from Ra to save the Pharaoh and his people from darkness" remarks Arainaina, who was trying to get her brother to listen all the while failing.

"Nonsense" scoffs Seto this time, causing both Arai and Yami to look over at them. "It's NOT" shouts Arai, tears threatening to spill from her eyes, as her brother and cousin continue to ignore her, the grip on her arm tightening.

'Arai…' whispers Yami as he continues to witness how rudely he was being towards his sister back then. 'If that's how I was back then, then I'm glad I don't have these memories'

"What do you wish for me to do with her and the prisoner my lord?" asks the guard.

"Leave the prisoner in the dungeon until tomorrow when I choose a new slave as for the Princess, take her back to her room" orders Pharaoh Yami as the guards quickly nod before turning to take the Princess back to her room allowing the scene to fade from view yet again.

Once everything fades back to normal and the door is gone, Yami can't help but stare at his own hands, thinking over everything he just saw in that last memory.

"I was a total ass… no wonder I don't remember half of this… How could I be so mean to my own sister" grumbles Yami as his hands begin to ball into fists. "How could I have mistreated her like that? Here my guards are rough handling her and I don't even take the time to notice it"

As anger begins to rise, a soft yet gentle presence carefully surrounds Yami as if giving him a gentle hug. "Arai… I promise I'll be a better brother to you. I swear it" vows Yami as he pushes his anger aside, as if the gentle hug helped him.

Once emotions are pushed aside and Yami's mind begins to clear Yami begins to make his way to the next door. "Two doors down, only a few hundred more to go" chuckles Yami who knew that wasn't true but he knew he didn't have time to idle either when the fate of his sister hung in the balance.

A/N: Well? How was this chapter? Good? Bad? Please R&R…. I originally was only going to do one chapter for this but I wanted to reveal a couple of memories and possibly elaborate a bit more from some of the scenes in The Day an Angel Flew Down and what better way to do it then when Yami is trying to track down his baby sister. Until Next time. Bye.
