Chapter 15

(Part 2)

Felix's point of view.

"Scoot aside, boys." Jayden calls out as he zips past us- his hips swaying softly- a jet of water fizzing from behind his board like a trail.

The three of us quickly turn our boards away from one another- all going in sperate directions on the waves, as Jayden claims the spot we were all just at.

"Mine." He sneers from where he's currently surfing in the one specific area.

I see Fallon to my left, purposely deciding to startle my brother by skidding a tide onto the back of his board- earning the success of him rocking uncontrollably.

"Move bitch, I'm gay." I snarl when surfing past him.

He wobbles and wobbles, still lost for balance.

It was only after a few seconds that Jayden then whooshed past Fallon- creating a bigger wave than mine to splash him with.

"Oops, my bad. I lost control of my board for a second, but it's all good now. It's working like a charm now." Jayden comments with a flashing smirk and a flick of his hair.

Fallon grumbles beneath his breath silent words that I was curious to know.

"Guess over here is a reunion, eh?" Archer suggests from where he's surfing in-between Jayden and Fallon.

Both Fallon and Jayden move their boards in at the same time to trip Archer over- but the male surfer already saw that coming- as he loosens his pressure on his board to move backwards.

The two boys quickly flick their hips to turn away from one another, in hope to avoid conflict before it happens.

They successfully manage to avoid collision, as I watch from a faraway view.

"Real smooth you two." I cheer while clapping my hands together. "A+, Whoo!" I add on top of my snarky comment, earning two glares from Fallon and Jayden, and one amused look from Archer.

"You're so DEAD!" Jayden shouts at me, turning his surfboard into my direction to prowl closer to me.

My heart beats rapidly, resolving in me thinking of the only direction that I can outdo him in.

The direction of the huge wave...

I jiggle my ass at Jayden teasingly.

"Come and get me tiger," I state cheekily. "I'll be over here!"

He growls beneath his breath, giving me the upper hand of having used that diversion wisely.

I turn my board to face the enormous wave that was towering over the scene without hesitation.

I nod my head to myself determined- arms spread out, with my hips ready to swish.

When my board starts going up the wave- with Jayden right on my tail.

I make it to the top, quickly flip my board to now face Jayden, and bend my knees with a strong motion, lifting up at the last second- soaring right over Jayden's head without hitting him, since he was still coming up the wave.

Gasps could be heard all the way from the beach, especially one coming from Jayden.

And right as my stunning move has led me to escape his claws- I slide my board down the slope of the wave after I landed behind him, to do an off-the-lip trick.

"Felix is back in the game, spectators!" The announcer educates to all the viewers, causing a red blush to form on my cheeks from me doing something right for once.

"Not for long he will be!" Fallon shouts out with anger written all over his tone.

"Oh, cool off Fallon." Archer implies with a hand stroking through his raven black hair, with the sun shining down on his tanned skin softly.

Fallon shoots a glare over at Archer who just replies with an uninterested shrug.

A smirk tugs at my lips upon hearing Archer's come back.

"Yeah, cool off Fallon. Isn't the water out here cold enough for ya?" I tease with a pointing finger. "Unless of course. You want me to splash you some more? That can always be arranged." I purr teasingly, with a glint of trouble in my ocean blue eyes that has Fallon looking away quickly.

"Wise choice to look away." I add onto my threats, earning a snarl of irritation from Fallon.

"Too much chit chat, not enough surfing." Jayden informs us while carving his surfboard into the waves, doing a mini circle around the three of us.

Our eyes all follow the curl that he just drew from around us, before mine set onto Fallon.

Fallon has his jaw clenched tightly with anger, while glaring darts over at Archer.

"Don't stare too long Fallon. You might forget that this is a free-for-all competition." Archer replies to his gaze with a confident smirk, and an assuring wink.

Fallon looks very displeased by his reaction, his fists clenched tightly by his sides.

"Is that a challenge!?" Fallon shouts at Archer from over the noisy crashing of the waves.

I let off a sigh when watching this fight unfold, only to be cut off when Archer responds.

"Believe what you want. But just remember that you're the only one here who hasn't pulled a stunt yet." Archer informs, driving his surfboard into the opposed direction with the help of the pressured waves.

I look over my shoulder at Jayden who's casually watching all of our moves and actions from where he's surfing on the crest of the wave.

When his eyes meet with mine, he gestures his head over to Fallon with a look of trouble in his golden eyes— edging me to obey his command to knock my brother out of this competition.

I think about it for a moment, nodding my head in agreement afterwards.

I tilt the angle of my board into Fallon's direction while he appears to be lost in thought when watching the sparkling aqua water.

When a wave comes up from behind me with the most absolute perfect timing— I skid my board next to Fallon's— causing him to flinch with a bit of his balance lost.

I go to finish off the kill with a large splash— but Archer has already bet me to Fallon's doom— as he uses the wave that's already building up its altitude, doing a slick Cutback stunt that washes Fallon right off his board cleanly.

"Archer has just knocked Fallon out of the competition!" The broadcaster notifies everyone, earning some cheers with some disappointed groans.

I look down from where Fallon fell into the water— not seeing him anywhere— causing me to worry.

"He's alright." Archer points out sweetly with a finger pointing over to a red jet ski that has already picked up Fallon from the stray waters, his blue board in hand.

I let off a sigh of relief that earns a snicker from Archer.

"It's interesting that you got so worried about him even though you two dislike each other." Archer comments with a small smile on his lips. "It sure is a brotherly love."

I nod my head in return, getting the reply of a bored yawn from behind us.

"This is sweet. But I'm feeling a bit sour right now, so it just isn't fitting well with me." Jayden states coldly with a praising smirk.

"Nice job at betraying your brother by the way Felix. I didn't think that you'd have the balls for it." Jayden adds honestly, his smirk not disappearing.

I raise an eyebrow in return to his weird compliment, but he decides to continue talking.

"You'd make a great shark." He states full heartedly, confusing me even more.

"Shark?" I ask dumbfounded, my blue eyes meeting with his gold ones.

He nods his head to approve of what I just said, his eyes not leaving mine.

"Yes, a shark. And if you don't know why— it's because sharks are silent killers— and what you just did to your own blood was a backstabbing kill." He confirms with a grin. "And I do adore my backstabbers." He finishes off, giving me a clear signal that he's looking for a new crew mate as a backstabber. AKA me.

I nod my head to reject what he just said.

"You have the wrong idea," I inform. "I'm not a backstabber, this event was just free-for-all." I plead with Jayden desperately. "You gotta understand that I'm not like— well, that!"

He tsks in reply, his eyes freezing me in place while we calmly surf on this peaceful wave.

"Oh, they all start off innocent until they become guilty." He assures me with a tint of trouble in his tone.

I shiver slightly to the idea of what he could possibly be planning. But Archer comes to my rescue when he flicks a small wave of water onto Jayden with his surfboard.

Archer was so quiet throughout Jayden and my whole conversation that I personally forgot that he was surfing next to Jayden the whole entire time.

"Quit trying to scare him." Archer hisses with an irritated tone, having Jayden roll his eyes in return.

"Or else what?" Jayden tests, his jawline tightened firmly to look more aggravated.

"It's simple really. You'll have your body dunked into the crystal-clear water that you see beneath us. Or you won't even get to see that since you'll be knocked out unconscious." Archer threatens with his arms crossed and his biceps tensed up.

"Oh? Is that a threat?" Jayden responds with a growl in his voice. "I wouldn't be threatening me, Archer. I tend to end the fights before they even start." Jayden coos with no show of fear.

Archer looks the boy up and down, biting his lip when in deep thought.

I stare at the both of them in silence, the tension clearly radiating off of them.

"Alright all students and teachers! The heat has officially come to a closure due to time being up, and the waves now being at a tranquil pace." The announcer stops for a breath. "All surfers come back to bay immediately." And then the broadcast finished.

I hold a hand up above my eyes to cover the sunlight that was flashing its rays in my face.

After my palm shaded the brightness, I gaze at the two surfers who still haven't stopped looking at each other— both being tense.

"Uh, guys?" I voice awkwardly, the tension falling onto me when they both look at me at the same time.

"Ah, right..." Archer assures gently after snapping out of his daze.

Jayden raises an eyebrow at Archer, but the boy has already begun paddling away from us where he's laying on his surfboard.

Jayden does the same thing without a word being said to me, confusing me even more.

What's up with those two? One snarky comment from Jayden and Archer's acting like he just found his future lover!

"Weird.." I mumble beneath my breath; following the route that the two boys took.

I arrive at the beach not long after the other two did, the both of them utterly ignoring each other.

The tension between them felt like a radiator being placed right in the centre of the beach, quite literally— the both of them were split into different groups— Jayden being with his minions but sneaking a few glances at Archer who was sitting on the sand beneath a palm tree all by himself; his football dug into the sand next to him.

Archer was watching the waves crash against the sand from afar, a few sighs escaping his lips when doing so.

Jayden's minions were wrestling each other while cracking jokes to Jayden who looked highly uninterested when staring out to sea too.

"Those two definitely have a thing going on." Brian says from behind me, his eyes focused intently on Archer.

A smile creeps onto my lips when I hear his charming tone.

"I thought you'd never show up." I mutter softly, the sun shining down warmly on him and I.

A snicker could be heard from behind me, him embracing my slim waist with both his arms wrapped around me.

"I couldn't ever leave someone so precious as you behind," Brian soothes delicately, his head nuzzling into my neck. "I care about you too much."

I close my eyes momentarily, feeling his warmth radiate onto me; calming me down from any worries that I may have.

I let off a relieved breath. "I know you do Brian. And I really do care about you too."

A sweet giggle could be heard from below my ear, him releasing his hold off of me.

"I have no doubts." He assures happily.

I turn myself around to face Brian, his vine-green eyes striking themselves elegantly through the suns glow.

I nod my head gently in respect, afterwards nodding my head over to Archer's direction.

"Do you really think Jayden and Archer are good for each other?" I ask cautiously.
