All righty! Greetings my fellow roses and sunflowers! Cherries is back on the scene of this story. So, every so often, my brain enjoys fixating on a certain anime at a time. Lately, I've been feeling some nostalgia of my childhood lately and have decided to come back to continue writing this story.
Now with that being said, you guys have to understand I've been on for over 14 years now and my writing style and tone have significantly evolved from when I was a preteen/teenager in 2006. I've looked at past reviews of this story and even Rose by Another Name. If I come back and decide to finish this sequel, y'all gon have to be a little more specific with your likes and dislikes of the course of the story. Don't get me wrong, I love all of you for telling me things are great and you enjoy it, but if at all possible I would love to hear what exactly you like and what you would like to see change.
Keep in mind, there's not going to be much dueling in this story, as there was never much dueling in it to begin with. It's an Aki/Yusei fanfiction that is a chronicle of their relationship over time, but now they have created a loving, wholesome family together with their friends and biological families. If this isn't your thing, that's cool, but then you know you don't have to read this story. We all got options.
I wanted to take some time to thank my dedicated readers and reviewers immensely. This story would not have made waves or gained any type of recognition without any of you and your input. It's much appreciated to little ol' me that you enjoy this story and we can share our love for Aki and Yusei as a couple (can't remember the ship name for it, but if you know, you know lol). I hope that when I do upload the next chapters and eventually end this story, that the same momentum and good times can role forward.
Fanfiction has been very different over the last several years, but I guess that ultimately depends on the fanbases that exist on this one website. I feel people are still writing, but there's not a lot of people reading. This tbh, is one of my fears going on in my head right now. Will people really read this after so many years on hiatus? Has it been forgotten? Nevertheless, it is ultimately my goal to eventually finish all of my unfinished stories on here, Welcome to Mommyhood being one of them. I hope y'all will eventually come back after this story has been on hiatus for seven years and take some time to indulge in the nostalgia that 5Ds is bringing me back right now.
